"Corvalia!" someone called for me after dinner finished.
I turned around to look, and it was Rex.
"Did you need something?" I asked.
"I wanted to make something for the knights again," he explained to me. "Could we do it together? I'm not sure what to make, or how to make it."
I gave it a moment of thought.
"Yeah, I might have some ideas, but what have you come up with? I can help you make anything you want."
"I was thinking of making drinks for them," Rex replied. "Winter is arriving soon, so I think warm drinks would be best."
"Hmmm..."
The first drink that comes to mind is hot chocolate, but chocolate is probably super expensive, and it takes forever to make by hand. Easier options would be mulled wine, but they would never let me touch alcohol. Hot teas would be a good option too, but that's already a thing.
"I have an idea for the drink," I said. "Apple cider. Or just a cider in general, it doesn't have to be apples."
"What's that?" Rex asked.
"It's like a warm drink made with fruits and spices and water," I explained. "And we have a lot of large pots in the kitchen, so I'm sure we could make enough for the knights. I'm just unsure about what we can put them in, since glass is too dangerous."
"Every knight carries their own metal canteen," Rex told me. "When the cider is finished, I'll ask them for their canteens and fill them up."
"Alright, that's a good idea. Give me a day to figure out a good recipe first, and then we can make it in large batches."
"Let me know when you want to experiment in the kitchen," he said, as we walked towards our rooms. "I'll join you and help with the process."
