"Domenico, è ora di cena (Dominic, it's time for dinner)." A deep voice in Italian wakes me up, guessing it's Dad.
"Hey, Principessa!" Dominic starts moving, making me snuggle in more. "Nope! It's time for dinner, and you missed lunch already today." He starts unhooking himself from my grasp.
Now getting picked up from the couch, carried to the dining room, and placed nicely in my chair as I whined. "Can't I just skip dinner and go to sleep?" In response, everyone chucked, thinking it was cute.
"Mateo, I think you might have to feed Elma like a baby. If she keeps falling asleep." Romeo tells his twin, teasing me in the process.
"Nope, I'm awake!" I quickly sat up straight, waking myself up.
We all sat at the table with Dad at the head, Dominic on the right, and me on the left. Then looking to the left, Mateo sat next to me, plus his twin. Now Ricco sits in between his two triplets, and my last brother Elio sits the third seat down from me. "You know you're very lucky that Dominic let you skip lunch earlier," Mateo mentioned.
"You're kidding me!" I gaze right into his eyes while a young female adult enters. She was wearing black jeans and a dark gray shirt.
"Yes! And know that we love you, Principessa, so much!" Romeo beats my other brothers to the punch.
We all talked as the young adult went around the room, placing plates in front of my family from a serving tray. Dinner was Gnocchi, Focaccia, Roasted Veggies, and an Italian Green Bean Salad. I discovered her name was Giorgia as we thanked her for the meal.
"Ich bin nicht hungrig (I'm not hungry)." I mumbled in German, not wanting to speak in English. Playing with my food, being bored at the table.
"Es ist nur Essen (It's only food)," Romeo comments back in German.
"Sprechen Sie fließend oder lernen Sie noch (Are you fluent or still learning)?" I asked in German, wondering what level he was at.
"Romeo is still learning German," Dominic said as I just noticed that Romeo didn't understand what I said.
We both stare into each other's eyes, trying to read each other. Out of amusement, I couldn't help chucking. He was reading me, and I slipped up without knowing.
"Ok? What's going on here?" Mateo blurts out, glazing between his twin and me.
"Power play, dear brother." I gave them my power smirk, which totally caught them off guard. Oops, too much!
B-u-z-z, all my brothers' phones go off. Then Ricco noticed my confusion and said, "Papà, wants us all in the living room."
What did I do now? I didn't think I had done anything yet. Just remember Elma, you're The Mafia Queen, the most powerful person in the world. You hold power! Making men cower to the ground like flies. People fear you but also respect you highly for your morals.
"I have called a family meeting to discuss and negotiate boundaries for you, Principessa." Dad's eyes landed directly on me when he said 'boundaries.' Basically, a fancy name for saying rules to my face.
"Fine, but I am agreeing only because we are negotiating." I lowered my voice in a dark way as the words came from the tip of my tongue.
We all sat down on the couches, and rule one ended up being, No alcohol or drugs. Which nicely told them I only drink when it's a special occasion or 'that day.' Luckily they didn't push the question further. They all seemed curious about 'that day.'
"Rule Two, curfew." Dad comes out bluntly.
"Before you say anything. I have evening meetings at BlackGuard because of the different time zones." Dad was about to say something, but I held up my right index finger, stopping him from speaking. "I'm fine being back home at ten only on nights I don't have meetings." I stand my ground, seeing my shocked but proud brothers.
"Ok, that's acceptable." Dad stumbles on his words for a second in shock at what just happened.
"Why don't we go to number three?" Ricco destroys the awkwardness in the room.
"The basement is off limits; I'm a collector of rare weapons," Dad said with hidden body language and facial expression that he was lying. Collector of rare weapons, you made a pretty good excuse there, Dad.
"Yeah, I'm good." I raised up my hands in defeat like I was not interested.
"Rule four, the mansion's third floor is off limits too." My eldest brother Dominic disclosed my fourth rule.
"Why?" I questioned innocently, not giving up on the fact I already knew why. They don't want me to find out about the mafia.
"We have company workers up there, Principessa. We don't want you to interact with them." Dad answered me, seeing if I understood.
Now, I'm wondering how long I can act innocent before bursting. "Thank you for telling the truth, then some stupid lame excuse." I taunt them, seeing if they can keep their act together. Luckie for them; everyone but Elio kept the mask. Out of the corner of my eye, Dad gave Elio a glare.
"Rule Five, Only Dress Appropriately!" Dad said with all my brothers sternly looking at me.
Seriously, do they really think that I would wear revealing clothes? I could not help laughing. My brothers look at me like I'm crazy. After my laughing fit, I pulled myself together and explained to them. "To tell the truth. I only dress modestly. Even if I dress modestly, it's the boys who, for some reason, have their own minds about me." I ranted and looked at them sheepishly.
"Elma, I'm sorry. But we're gonna have to talk about boys." Dad's sorry eyes land on me.
Do they really believe I hit on boys? I am literarily engaged! "I am not interested in boys at all right now, and for all I care." I close my eyes and relax before yelling, "They Can Stay, The Fuck Away From Me!" I shouted, springing up from my seat. Hoping my act fools them because they don't need to know that I am currently engaged, and Diego would go kill the guy who touched or even looked at me.
"Language!" My whole family yells at me.
"Sorry..." I melt back into my seat.
"It's ok, Principessa!" Ricco reassured, calling me a princess while patting my head, indicating that I was not in trouble.
"Hm!" Dad cleared his throat, getting everyone's attention. "Now, about your choices of words...."
"I'll do my best to keep it at a minimum." I interrupted Dad. Having Elio, Alonso, and the twins with their mouths wide open in shock.
"Good, and I have one more rule that I'm not gonna negotiate on," Dad said in a harsh voice, warning me there were no negotiations.
Hehe, it's my turn to use my negotiation skills. "You have a deal if you guys can give me time to slowly open up." I lean back into my seat, crossing my legs and arm, letting out a little bit of my aura.
"Of course!" Dad kept his tone as he sat up straight, countering my aura. "Now, Elma, don't go anywhere without your brothers or guards." Looking around the room, all my brothers, including Dad, were serious about not going anywhere without guards. Remember, Do Not tell them about the tracking chips.
"Sorella, you got it?" Mateo speaks up, preventing me from spacing out.
"Yes, I do!" I confidently replied back in a business tone.
"Now punishments will be like taking your phone or doing chores around the house." Dominic clarified punishment for breaking the rules in a closed-off, non-emotional way. Guessing he doesn't enjoy doing punishments.
Wait, is my car here yet? I should ask, "Um, Dad?" I actually raised my hand up like in a classroom.
"And yes, your car is here." Dad finished my statement with a chuckle at the end.
"What car?" Elio and Ricco ask simultaneously since they are racers and love cars.
"It's a Red Dynamic RN56!" I excitedly shared with them, shocking Elio and Ricco to the core.
"But the RN56 isn't in the market yet?" Elio quickly realized and asked while I could not help chuckling. Diaz Ramos is the owner of Off-Road Dynamic and is the current Don Of The Spanish Mafia. I got the Dynamic RN56 because Diego gave it to me. He knows I am not the kind of girl to fancies guys just because of their cars. But he does know that I love racing.
"I might know the owner of Off-Road Dynamic," I said, giving everyone a cheesy smile.
Then they started going bonkers. "W-What!" Elio and Ricco shout, standing up and bursting everyone's ears.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Ricco swore, clasping back onto the right couch.
"Come fa Elma a conoscere gli spagnoli (How does Elma know the Spanish)?" Alonso kept his cool and pointed out an observation in Italian.
"Buon punto, Alonso (Good point, Alonso)." Romeo said in Italian, who also kept his cool and confirmed the observation.
Now my eyes started to close as I did a pretty good yawn. "Neonata, it's time for bed." Dad calls my Baby-Girl as he notices my exhaustion. He gave me a kiss on the head, including my brother, before I started going upstairs. While going up, I ignored the argument in Italian, guessing it because I told them about knowing Diaz Ramos, The Current Don Of The Spanish Mafia. Oh well, it's in the past now; there is nothing I can change about that.
