Spending time with my brothers or Diego is very fun. It makes me feel loved again. What's sad is that it's the beginning of a new week, which means my brothers must return to work. But Dad said we still have the evenings to spend quality time together.
"I'm Home!" I yelled, coming into the mansion after finishing my work for the day.
"Welcome home, Farfalla!" Dad gives me a friendly big hug in the living room.
"How was your day, Dad?" I questioned, seeing how tired he was.
"It was good, but how was yours?" He sends the question back to me.
"I hate paperwork," I grumbled, sitting next to Dad at the kitchen island counter.
Then Ricco entered the living room wearing gray sweats and a bulky hoodie, as he announced. "Dad, it's two-thirdly; we should get going soon for the game."
"Thank you, son and Principessa? Are you able to leave in five minutes?" Dad asked, setting a time to leave for the twins and Elio's soccer game.
"Yes, I just need to grab my purse...." I get off of the stool and look up from my phone. "And then meet you at the car," I finished my sentence. Now eyeing Dad's coffee which I wanted, or you could say I need to stay awake for my evening meeting.
"I would stay away from that, Principessa," Ricco warns me, seeing that I am eyeing the coffee mug.
Then, when Dad realized what was happening, I snatched the coffee and raced upstairs at the right pace to avoid spilling. Now, I wish I had seen Dad's reaction when taking his coffee. Ok, so what purse do I wanna bring? I want to be a professional, but definitely not a business professional. Oh, what about my black shoulder bag? It will fit my gun but also matches my dark gray suit and navy blue dress shirt.
"Hey, Dad? What time does the game end?" I asked, coming down the central staircase.
"If the game starts on time, then three p.m., Principessa!" Dad Informed me, not talking about the coffee I had taken earlier.
"Ok, thank you. I just have a meeting at five, Dad." I explained while making sure I had everything in my purse. My gun, five knives, work phone, personal phone, spare makeup, air pods, and wallet.
"Just remember we are going out to Casa Nostra after...." Dad shares with me again.
"Yes, I know the game, Dad." I interrupted him as I saw Alonso running down the hallway.
"Ricco! Do You Know Where My Phone Is?" Alonso yelled as he came into the entryway. Leading dad to sigh as he saw one of his older sons yelling, trying to find his phone.
"The Kitchen, Alonso," Dad shouted in return.
"Thank You, Papà! And Sorella? Why are you dressed like you're going to a meeting?" Alonso points out my professional outfit, which makes me look like a mini dad.
Now responding back to his observation. "Because dear brother. I am going to a meeting after the game and Casa Nostra."
"You are definitely a mini, papà," Alonso mumbled under his breath, earning a chuck from me.
"What took you guys forever?" Ricco leans against his black Dynamic RN56. I just love cars. If you ask me what type of car, the majority of the time, I can tell you what it is from my monthly car magazine.
"Ricco lost his phone, Dom," I informed my eldest brother as I got into the front passager seat.
"Nope, you're sitting in the back seat, Farfalla!" Dominic gave me a playful glare with hands on the hip.
"But! Why do I have to sit in the back seat?" I whined back like a child, shocking myself in the process.
"Because it is safer than sitting in the front seat." Dominic did not let it go. Making me realize it was a pointless battle to fight with him.
"But, Dom!" I wined back again before getting a look from Dad.
Being in the middle of Alonso and Ricco is a never-again thing. They both argued about what's the best music, rock or orchestra. Then they both asked me which was better, leading me to say that 'rock orchestra is better,' which is a real thing. It's just an orchestra with electric guitar, brass, and drums attached to the standard setup.
"Ok, children. We are here." Dad interrupted the chatter.
"Children?" Alonso questions as he looks shocked at the term Dad used.
"Yes, children! Because all three of you guys argued the whole way here." Dad locks eyes with him, which leads to Alonso losing the challenge.
"Um, guys? Isn't the game spouse to start now?" I pointed out as the referee blew the whistle to start.
"That's a good point; we should get our seats." Ricco grabbed my wrist, not letting go until we sat down in the back corner of the bleachers.
The football game was intense. The Lynx, my brother's team, and The Ibex, the away team, were evenly matched. Then out of nowhere, my cousin Alessio retrieved the ball from Elio. He sprints up to the goal and passes it to Romeo for his 'legendary kick.' As the game continues, Mateo leads his team to victory, having the score one to zero. From watching the game, Mateo supports the team in strategy as he plays the head defender. Romeo is the kicker, with Alessio as a sprinter, making them a good pair. Elio played as a defender, while my other cousin Dario was a midfielder.
"Uncle is that..." Alessio trembled, almost dropping his water bottle.
"You Found Her!" Dario pounces right onto Elio's back.
"Meet your cousin, Elma. Our Principessa!" Dad gives me an introduction to my cousins.
"If I remember correctly, your Alessio, the cousin who let me stay up late to watch Gimmlock." I ratted him out as he started turning pale from all the deadly stares he was receiving. "And you, Dario, are prankers like Elio. Do you really think I forgot about that slime bucket on Dominic?" A caught you smirk shows up across my face as this short black hair and brown eyes cousin shrives.
"Ok, for my defense. It was meant for Mateo, not Dominic...." Dario rambled off due to all the looks he was getting.
"Watch it, Dario." Dominic bitts back in anger.
The ride to Casa Nostra was frustrating, with me going back and forth between Clover and Zachary's consent texts about my safety with the recent threats against me. I kept telling them I was safe and could protect myself. But they kept insisting to the point that I stopped messaging back.
Finally, arriving at Casa Nostra. We went inside and got our table in the VIP section. "So, Elma... What have you been up to all these years?" Dario wonders, not realizing that I have not yet said much to my brothers or dad.
Crap! What do I say? Ug, I need to take a big deep breath in. "I have been..." I stutter for a second. "Learning the ways of business." I didn't totally lie to them. I just know that I will understand when it's the right time to come out.
Having an awkward moment. "Are you excited to join us in school?" Alessio comes in, receiving a few chuckles from my brothers.
"Um, you guys should know that our Principessa is in college with an internship at BlackGuard Technologies." Mateo bets me to the punch, relieving everything to them.
"What!" Dario reacts shockingly.
"Wow, you're smarter than these two idiots here." Alessio teased the twins before taking a sip of water.
"Hey!" Mateo bites back in defense.
Then Romeo mumbled under his breath, "That was not nice." He controls his twins from not punishing Alessio.
"What degree are you doing?" Dario wonders, trying to get to know me.
"Bachelors in Business Leadership." I quietly stated, being shy for some reason.
"You know that's an amazing skill to have since Uncle Lorenzo is the CEO of Monti Networks." Alessio hinted at a possible career path.
"Yes, I know, but I want to build my own company," I told him confidently. Not like I had already built a mafia and three businesses.
"If you strive hard, you can make lemons out of lemons, Doctor Lemon." Dominic lightens the air with a funny quote.
"Did Dominic just say an inspirational quote?" Alessio starts teasing my older brother.
"Seriously, Alessio? We are talking about Dominic here, the inspirational speaker of the Monti family." Elio plays back, feeding the sarcasm.
Now, receiving our food. The waitress tried to flirt with my brother, which pissed me off. She acted like they wanted her attention and gave me the cold shoulder. "Principessa, is that a tattoo?" Dad's observation gets the whole table's attention.
"Yes? Is there a problem?" I shrugged back before stuffing noodles in my mouth.
"No, it just surprised me, Neonata!" My shocked dad goes back to eating his lasagna.
"What do the three butterflies mean?" Romeo asked me with a lot of curiosity.
"Die drei Menschen, die für mich gestorben sind (The three people who died for me)." I announced in German, showing that only three people knew out of the nine people here.
"Can someone translate?" Elio burst out, not understanding what had happened.
"We would like to know." Mateo expressed for himself and Alonso, who is enjoying garlic bread.
"'The three people who died for me.' That's what Elma just said in German." Dominic lets out for me in English.
The rest of dinner was low-key. I got to learn more about my family. Although I already knew this, I have seven older boy cousins, three uncles, two aunts, and one set of grandparents. It was fun listening to them explain memorable moments that aren't mafia or underworld related. Then out of nowhere, we all started to hear gun shoots. Out of reaction, every family member at the table except me had some sort of weapon. Being me, I was ready to attack, but Elio grabbed me and hid under the table as my family kept cursing in Italian. Usually, I get pissed when someone tries to protect me; nevertheless, they don't know who I am.
"Elma, Principessa. No matter what, we always love you." Dad declared to me before leaving Elio and me.
Gunshot after gunshot, my family eliminated the attackers. The whole time Elio was in front of me as I sat against the wall. He would all glaze back at me every minute to make sure I was ok, just to see my emotionless face starting back.
"Побързай; трябва да вземем принцесата (Hurry up; we have to get the princess)." One of the five men dressed in black entered the kitchen and spoke in Bulgarian.
"Да аз знам. Не искам да загубя главата си днес, Божидар (Yes, I know. I don't want to lose my head today, Bozhidar)." The second tallest person out of the five says.
Elio starts trembling, knowing he can't defeat five bulky mafia men. Taking the guts to do this in front of my family. I pull out two of my knives and prepare to kill them. Once Elio saw what I was doing, he shacks his head no but after receiving a glare from me. He sighs and decides to join me as he cock the gun. I look out the window and see my family fight and kill the Bulgarians. Putting my attention back on my older brother, he starts counting down from three with his fingers. We both charge at them, taking them off guard. Elio takes one down before he starts hand-to-hand combat.
Once Elio had fired his gun, my family outside started running in. Right when I killed the second to last person, slitting their throat and holding the knife at the survivor's neck. My brothers, dad, and cousins gasped, seeing what I had done. It was clear that I killed two with my knives and Elio two.
"Who's Orders?" I demeaned in a deadly tone. Ignoring the face of my family as I held the knife.
"Добър опит, кучко (Nice try bitch)!" Bozhidar states in Bulgarian as he chuckles like he just won. Why is this dude chuckling when I have a knife at his throat?
"Сигурен ли си в това. Защото, ако си спомням добре, Ерон Делгадо е един от най-глупавите хора, които съм оставял жив, Божидар (Are you sure about that. Because if I remember correctly, Eron Delgado is one of the dumbest people I've ever left alive, Bozhidar)." I replied back in Bulgarian, not shocking him.
"Къде е шестият по младост Монти (Where is the sixth youngest Monti)?" Bozhidar makes me aware of who is missing from the room. Shit! They were a distraction grab one of my brothers. Elio, I Will Get You Back!
