Approaching the office, I could see all the troublemakers on the cushioned bench outside of Principle Burton's office. Ted had an ice pack on his forehead, Raymond on the shoulder, Mateo on the cheek, Ilene on her right wrist, and Lloyd on his right knuckles.
Once the shadow team had seen Elma approaching, they turned pale. Remembering the confit in the cafeteria, which landed them at the principals. "Das erklärst du später, Veronica (You'll explain later, Veronica)." My voice was rough as I spoke in German, knowing that only Veronica speaks it out of all the troublemakers on the bench, especially my brothers.
"Ja gnädige Frau (Yes Ma'am)" Veronica's voice traveled back to me in fear.
"What are you doing here, Elma?" Mateo adjusted the ice pack on his face.
Standing in front of Mateo, having my hands on my hips. "Principle Burton sent for me." I didn't show emotions, not even to my brothers, just because I still could not pull my roots in public yet.
"The Prick called for you?" Elio puffed air, leaning back into the dark brown wooden bench.
"Prick?" As in a sharp point? Or someone that's extremely annoying and pokes into other people's business.
"Principle Burton," Mateo clarified for me.
"We gave him that nickname for being a 'Prick' about everything." Romeo clarifies with a dramatic eye roll.
"Ms. Monti, Principle Burton is ready to see you." Arlette didn't even look up from her computer screen.
Entering through the dark blue door, Burton stands up, buttoning the middle button on his suit. "Ms. Monti, thank you for coming."
"I wish it were under better circumstances, Mr. Burton." We shook hands above the modern white desk.
"No, please call me Byron." He gestured with his left hand to the furthest chair from the door.
"Now, Byron, I am not here a Monti but a Sakai." I played my cards like a business deal while Burton completely changed his attitude to freaking the hell out.
"Y-y-you're S-Sakai R-Rin!" He could not help but stutter out his sentence.
"Indeed, and your mouth is gonna stay shut," I threatened him not to share. "Capito (Understood)," I doubled checked with him.
"Y-yes!" Burton said in fear after me wanting a vocal response.
"Principle Burton, Mr. Monti is here." Teresa cracked open the door, peeking her head through.
"Please let him in, Teresa." Burton gulped, letting my older brother into the office. "Mr. Monti, Thank you for coming." He stands up with no real smile.
"Elma, what are you doing here?" Ricco contained his shock as he continued walking inside the office.
"I am responsible for Veronica, Ilene, Lloyd, Ted, and Raymond. In other terms, the party, our brothers, fought with Ricco." I didn't show one ounce of emotion toward my brother with Burton here.
"We will be talking about this later." Ricco searched for any emotion on my face.
"That's fine with me." I stare into my brother's eyes while keeping my presence calm without worrying about the questioning later.
After releasing our stares at each other, we turned our attention to Burton. "U-mm... since it's your party's first offense, Ms. Monti. They are suspended for two days." He gulped again but managed to stop shaking. "And for your brothers, they are suspended for two weeks for their thirty-second dispute." By the end of Burton's little speech, I could tell Ricco didn't want to hear any more of this by the way he presented himself, but at the same time, he covered it so well only an expert reader could see through him.
Stepping out in the hallway. "Ricco, I must return to my estate and will be home by dinner." I made my statement, bringing up my wrist to check my watch to see what time it was.
"What do you mean your estate?" Crap! I said, 'My estate,' not Veronica's or Zachary's estate.
"For another time, Fratello." I tried forcing myself past Ricco's big figure.
"Elma-" He grabs my wrist, preventing me from leaving.
"No, Ricco." I forcibly yanked my wrist out of his grasp. "I have responsibilities that require my attention." I snapped at him, which I had never done to him yet. "I will see you at dinner." I walked away with my shadow team in fear behind me.
Opening my red car door, I turned around harshly. "All five of you ar-are..." I pointed harshly at them, having no words to say how disappointed I was for disobeying a direct order.
"We know, 女性 (Donna)." My shadow looked remorseful.
"I expected you all to go directly back to the estate." I didn't even look at them while taking my Satchel and coat off, preparing myself to drive.
"Yes, 女性 (Donna)."
On the way back to the estate, these scenarios kept popping up in my mind on what's gonna happen next with my family. Will they push me too hard to the point where I can't take it anymore? What am I gonna do?
"Hey, Red, how are you?" Diego wraps his arms around my waist, and we kiss.
"Do you remember my shadow team in training?" I pulled apart from Diego's face.
"I do?" Diego put pressure on my waist, guiding me to The Black Mid-Century Modern Love Sofa with white square pillows.
"They fought with three of my brothers, disrespecting a direct order, Black." My love placed me on his lap while gently forcing my head on his chest.
"Did they initiate the fight?" Diego started rubbing circles on my back.
"Initiate?" I couldn't help but question it since my English vocabulary is small.
"Start the fight, Red." Diego clarifies the complicated English word.
"Not from my understanding." I sighed into Diego's chest, taking in his sweet manly scent.
"Then it's not their fault."
"Are you saying I should let them off?" I stared into Diego's eyes, wondering what I was gonna do now.
"No, I am saying to at least give them credit for not starting the fight." Diego gave me serious eyes as if he had been in a similar situation.
"Good point, thank you, B-lack." I yawed, needing sleep after barely getting six hours.
Now actually thinking about the fight more. I do really think it's not their fault now, but they did disobey a direct order, and I need to set a presence for the future, so other members will fall out of line when given an order.
Being a leader requires; strength, knowledge, and support. Strength, being the top dog, and not bowing down to others. Knowledge, knowing how and when to act upon. Support, having someone following you to the end.
"Donna, we didn't mean to fight with your brothers." Veronica showed the emotion of regret along with everyone else.
"We tried to ignore them, but they kept on bugging us and even poured Ted's milk all over his lunch," Ilene explained what happened, feeling really awful.
"Your punishment is three days of extra training." If Diego hadn't convinced me to give The Falcons at least the credit for not starting the fight, I would have given them a week of extra training than three days.
"Three days of extra training?" Lloyd actually looked like I could kill him.
"Do you want to make it a week?" I raised my eyebrow, tilting my head.
"Nope!" They all shouted, scurrying out of the room.
"You know you're being hard on them?" Diego laughed, seeing them run like headless chickens.
"Yes, I know, Black." I chuckled, smiling directly into my love's face.
Will they even past?
"Tell me," His face turned serious, knowing something was up.
"I just worried they won't pass the shadow team test and become The Alpha Dogs." I started worrying about another problem with my shadow team in training.
'The Alpha Dogs,' the title passed down through The Japanese Mafia for the shadow guards assigned to protect The Don or Donna.
"They're better than you think, Red." Diego initiates the kiss, making me relax again.
Driving into my family's garage with my Red Dynamic RN5. I counted twelve cars exactly, which means everyone is home. Mateo and Romeo have one car each. Verus, everyone else in the family has a second car for 'business' like me.
"I am home; let's get this over with." I sat right next to Dominic, and for some odd reason, I attached myself like a Khola to my brother's arm.
"Care to explain why were you at the principal's office for some other teens?" Dad had his business face and attitude on.
Sit still, fiddling with my fingers, unsure what to say because if I answer wrong, they will find out I'm a Dragon which I am not ready to tell them yet. "Underworld business that I can't involve you with."
"Elma, we already told you about the mafia. What is holding you back from saying something?" Dominic picked me up and placed me between his legs.
"Something which has to be approved by someone higher up in the latter than me." I used a random excuse of having someone above my head when I was that person.
"If you won't say anything, why don't we move on to this estate I'm hearing about?" Dad gives me the parenting eyes of what's going on.
"What estate?" I tried acting clueless, seeing if I could make Ricco second-guess himself.
"I remember clear as day that you said, 'I must return to my estate,' Elma." Ricco didn't like my games and turned pissed off by my attempt.
"You do?" I looked to the ground in gilt before letting out in a barely audio mumble, "I have an estate near here, which my group stays in."
"Group as in the group at lunch today?" Mateo locked eyes and nodded his head with his twin for a second, which I am guessing twin bond cues.
"Does that me you're involved with an organization?" Elio openly says the facts.
"Yes, I am involved in something, but I can't tell you guys yet." I became so angered Dominic wrapped his arms around me, preventing me from moving.
"When can you?" Alonso didn't accept my answer.
The Mafia Ball would be my limit. It would be stressful and unethical for me to attempt to participate simultaneously at the ball. "Before the mafia ball this year, I promise you that you will know everything."
"Ok, Neonata, and starting today, your having a personal bodyguard when going outside the house." Dad used the opportunity to push the personal bodyguard.
"Dad, are you giving me a bodyguard because of recent events?" I exploded, not exactly like the overprotective older brothers and father.
"Farfalla, we have been meaning to give you one recently because you are The Sicilian Princess, our weakness." Dominic backs up Dad.
"But why now I'm able to protect myself." I point my skills out, not wanting someone to follow me every time I step outside of the house. I am not ready for them to know about what I truly do.
"That's why you only have one instead of five." Alonso threatens me with assigning more personal guards to me.
"I will stick with the one." I crossed my arms with a puffer fish earring while earning a bunch of chuckles from my brothers.
"And the other reason we are adding a bodyguard is we can't hide your presence anymore like this past month." Dad lays down the facts for me, making it more acceptable to me.
"Just remember, Principessa, we are doing this because we love you, ok?" Ricco smiled, getting up from his seat, coming over, and kissing me on the forehead.
"I understand, and who knew you could be so sensitive, Ricco." I teased my older brother, gently punching him in the shoulder.
"Hey, I am not a cold statue!" Ricco acted offended by my comment.
"Yes, you are." Elio sassy bounced it right back at Ricco.
I wonder what my life would be like if I had never gotten kidnapped in the first place. Would I have acted like those 'spoiled princesses' or be the businesswoman I am now? But what I do know is that challenge, experience, and effort; create's a person's foundation.
