Narrator's POV in the Netherworld

Deep within the depths of the Underworld shows a temple in the midst of the realm. A mysteriously cloaked individual is seen walking towards the ancient temple, avoiding guards and servants alike as they come up to the sealed and chained entrance, eerie blue wisps lighting the dark corners. Holding out a hand, they broke the seal and chains and checked behind them before walking in. Inside, they approach a mass of bamboo planks spiraling up in the center of a room as they each have a name inscribed on it. Platforms floated down from the roof and made a walkway for the person, who approached the floating name cards and searched through them, settling on one name in particular...

Sun Wukong

They removed the bamboo plank and looked at it as the writing glows.



Meanwhile in Megapolis

Two giant golden serpents; one with red eyes and another with blue eyes were seen terrorizing the city as the citizens were screaming in fear. Soon the two snakes' attention was set on sight on a roof where three unsuspecting old ladies, who were practicing Tai Chi together. The two giant serpents went to attack them, but were blocked by something as this caused an explosion sending the citizens flying in the air before they were caught by pink feathers or were floating in mid-air with purple magic surrounding them. It revealed that the citizens were saved by Lunar and Rainbow while a familiar giant red golden staff caught the two monsters by their fangs as they looked down at the person in fear, revealing to be Mk.

Turning from where he was casually holding the two beasts back, Mk greeted the old women "G'mornin' ladies!".

"Morning Mk!"

"What a sweet boy"

"Such a dear"

Mk's staff returned back to normal size before expanding it again, sending the two serpents flying through the city. While the snakes were down, the old ladies gathered around to have a selfie with Mk. "Now's not the time for that, babe!" a familiar voice called out from above, causing Mk to look up and saw Aphmau in the air as she was using her wings. "I love you and all, but we can converse with them lat- Woah!" Aphmau was cut off by getting pulled down and was surrounded by the cooing grannies as her cheeks were getting pulled, much to the young raven-haired girl's chagrin.

"Aww, you are absolutely precious!~"

"She's a beauty!"

"Young love is so sweet~"

Aphmau was sputtering in embarrassment as she said waving her arms "Mk, Help Me!" but unfortunately he was laughing at his girlfriend getting smothered by the old grannies as he gave her a sympathetic look until the two heard laughter and looked at a tall building tower with a billboard on the roof.

"MONKIE KID! It's your worst enemies, Jin!"

"And Yin!"

"The Gold and Silver Demons!" Jin and Yin both exclaimed as the two giant serpents rose up from the ground. "Apologies ladies, but we've got some snake hunting to do!" Aphmau says as she and Mk both narrow their eyes before the raven-haired girl takes off flying ahead while Mk gets into his tuk-tuk and drives forward at full speed to stop them following his girlfriend from behind. Suddenly the two serpents roared before jumping into the air and transformed into a giant pair of golden serpent shears. "With our legendary Golden Serpent Shears, we'll give this city a nice little trim!" Yin says and then Jin says "But a dye job's gonna cost extra, and the only color we got is red!" and then laughs evilly. "Woo~! That's some big scissors" Mk comments, causing Aphmau to nod in agreement before the two yelp as someone blows by them and this caused Mk to spin around a bit while Aphmau almost lost her balance.

"Hey, you two! You guys can make out after we defeat these two punks!" Draco called out as he and Mei were both inside the Dragon Jet. "Anything else! Literally drive anything else, Mk! And Draco's right, you can get some sugar from Aph later!" Mei shouted as she laughed and the Dragon Jet speeds off with the Krew except Funneh following after them with Lunar riding her staff while Rainbow and Gold were both flying with their wings. "WE WERE NOT MAKING OUT!!!" Aphmau screamed with her face completely red as she flew after them. "Hey! I'll have you know this baby's got loads of miles left in her!" Mk says with his cheeks pink before the tuk-tuk putters slowly and breaks down, causing Mk to groan, "Aw, man!".

Mei laughs as she and Draco were heading towards the tower with Aphmau, Gold, Rainbow and Lunar right behind them. "Oh, no! It's the Dragon Girl and Boy!" Jin says, sounding sarcastic. "What are we gonna do?" Jin and Yin both said in unison before Jin says while pulling out some from his cape "Oh, what's this inside my pretty new robe?" and then it's revealed to be a golden ring with intricate designs along with a red ribbon that is wrapped around and hangs from the bottom, "Aha, Nezha's Universal Ring!".



He then threw towards Mei and Draco, but they easily dodged it as Mei laughed. The ring lands on the ground and causes the ground to break, making the citizens and Mk fly up in the air before they are caught by Rainbow's pink feathers again. "You don't stand a chance against our relentless onslaught of magical artifacts we've somehow managed to steal" Yin says. "Prepare to meet your demise! Eventually!" Jin says as he and Yin start throwing the artifacts at the group. "Guys, grab the artifacts! We don't know what will happen if they hit the ground!!" Gold shouts and this makes the girls nod before they use their magic and swift action to catch the artifacts while the dragon couple dodges them before Mei opens the hood and asks "Is that all you've got?".

"Don't jink it sweetie!"

And that's when a lotus plate hits Mei's face.

"Mei!!" Draco says in worry as more artifacts were tossed in her face before a golden brick hit the jet's engine, causing the Dragon Jet to explode and the two began falling down. "Mei! Draco!" Mk exclaimed before he wasted no time hitting the ground with his staff, creating the Combi Mech, jumps into the air and catches the dragon couple. "Thanks, Mk!" Draco thanked him as Mei said "Nice catch, Monkey Man!" and the rest of the pieces from Mei's jet merged with Mk's Monkie Exo-suit as it got an upgrade with a jetpack on his mech. Mk used the rocket boosters to quickly fly towards the Giant Golden Serpent Shears and stopped the blades from coming into contact and ripped them out of the pivot and created a new pair of their own as Mk was now wielding them.

"Go, Guys!!" Aphmau cheered along with Lunar, Rainbow and Gold.

"Here... Comes..."

Jin and Yin were now both hugging each other in fear.

"Ah, bugger!"

"Mommy!"

"Dragon Couple Monkie Kid Team Attack!" the trio exclaimed together as Mk brought the shears down and sliced the building, creating a green explosion.

"We're saved! Our heroes!"

"I always like that Mk"

The citizens began to cheer for their heroes while the Gold and Silver Demons fell to the ground along with many of the magical artifacts they somehow stole before Mk landed near them as the shears were in his hands while Mei and Draco were both on his shoulder and then the Krew and Aphmau stood in front of the two demons with glares on their faces. "Alright, hang on a sec! Why don't we just all sit down and figure out a nice peaceful resolution?" Yin suggested before the gold brick hit his head. "Yeah, a post-battle group hug and off ya go, eh?" Yin chuckles nervously. "The time for hugs... is over!" Mk said as he lifts the shears and brings it down, but was blocked/stopped by the Demon Accountant from the Food Wars.

"I believe they've learned their lesson. Right, lads?" she said/asked. "Yes, we swear it!" Jin exclaimed while being carried bridal style by Yin, who adds "We'll never steal or do anything bad again! Honest!".

"Alright! But this is the last time, we mean it! Keep them noses clean!" Mei says while pointing her index and middle finger at her face and to theirs and then Gold cracks her knuckles as she says in a serious tone "Believe me when I say that next time... You won't be so lucky. Capiche?".



"No worries!"

"Yeah!"

"Smoke bomb!" Jin and Yin both said as the silver demon throws a smoke bomb and with that, the three demons disappear. Mk dismantled the mech and the Golden Serpent Shears landed in Mei's hands before she started taking selfies with the shears, much to Draco's amusement. "I wasn't really gonna slice 'em and dice 'em, you know? I just-I just thought we looked cool and edgy. But like what if this is the point in our hero's journey where things get a little bit darker?" Mk said and this made the Krew and Aphmau look at him in confusion.

"That sounds... great, MK! Better toss this one on the "potentially Lady Bone Demon level threat" pile" Mei says as she tossed the shears into the pile of magical artifacts before jumping in while Mk was holding Mei's phone as it was on live. "Yep, wanna lock those puppies up tight 'cause..." Mk's words trailed off as he recounts the moments leading to his fight with Lady Bone Demon, "I have definitely had my fill of world-ending related activities this year" and this caught Mei, Aphmau and the Krew's attention as they stopped what they were doing for a moment and gave Mk a worried/concern look.

"Mk, are you-" Mei was cut off by Mk saying while grabbing the bag filled with the magical artifacts and tossed it on his tuk-tuk "Well, better get this fat stack to Flower Fruit Mountain. Monkey King will know what to do with all this junk... in my trunk" and then he unconvincingly laughs while getting in the tuk-tuk. "Um, oh, uh, you good to go on your own, Mk?" Mei asked and then Aphmau came over as she said "I can always go with you, if you want Mk" and Mk simply said "No thanks, babe! You know me, I'm all good, all-good-all-the-time all good! Also Gold, Monkey King wants to talk to you! Later, guys!" and then he gave Aphmau a peck on the cheek before grabbing Gold's shirt, causing her to yelp and starts the engine and blasts off around the corner at an unexpected speed as Gold's scream was heard.

Pigsy sighs and says "He's not even pretending to deliver noodles anymore" and Aphmau stares at where Mk drove off too and says while clutching her chest "I think he's still blaming himself about what happened..." and then Pigsy called out to Lunar, causing her to come over to him. "Yeah, Uncle Pigsy?" Lunar asked and that's when Pigsy asked "Hey, how's Funneh? Has she been doing okay?" and Lunar stares at him for a moment before saying "She's been... Funneh's fine, she's been trying to get some sleep lately. You know she's been having a hard time sleeping since... You know..." and Lunar looked away as she remembered seeing Funneh's dead body being held by a crying Nezha and Ao Bing. "Yeah... I know... I'm just worried about her, I mean after everything that's happened. I-I just..." Pigsy says as he slightly clenched his fist before relaxing when Lunar placed her hand on his and said with reassurance "Don't worry, Uncle Pigsy. If there's anything we should know, Funneh is way too stubborn to let any of this drag her down".

Pigsy stayed silent for a moment before letting out a sigh and gave a small smile and said "You're right".

At Flower Fruit Mountain

In the Shuilian Cave, Mk, Gold and Monkey King are unpacking all the artifacts that Mk brought over. "Wonderful, like I didn't have enough junk already" Monkey King says as he tossed something away and Mk opens up a Monkey Cop box, revealing a little action figure and Gold looks around with a disgusted expression with a small sweatdrop as a small baby monkey was on her shoulder as he has a small banana bracelet on his wrist.



"This room looks like it was hit by a tornado. And here I thought Funneh and Draco's room was 10x worse, don't you agree Coco?" Gold says to the baby monkey known as 'Coco', who nods in agreement while snuggling against her cheek, making Gold giggle a bit. "Ho ho! Nezha's gonna flip when he finds out I have this!" Monkey King says as he was holding Nezha's Universal Ring, but then it was taken away by Gold, who says in a scolding manner "And this is why Nezha doesn't trust you. You literally steal his stuff!".

Monkey King grumbled a bit before putting on a red cape that has a golden sun embroidered on either side as the clasp is also that of a sun while saying "Seriously though, this is a great haul" and then Mk says "Yeah, I saved a bunch of people too" and this made Monkey King say "Oh yeah, you're doing good out there, bud. Real good. It's actually amazing how quickly you're mastering your powers. When I was your age, I-".

"You were fighting the Celestial Armies and generally swinging your big, ol' tail around to get what you wanted?" Mk says and then Gold adds "And always getting into trouble?" and then Monkey King, who was sitting on a pile while eating a peach looks at them and says "Well, I was going to say making regrettable life choices but yeah, thanks for laying it out. I'm embarrassed to admit it but you actually might have already done more for this world than I ever have" and Mk was holding a plate wipes off the dust and looks at it before saying "Yeah, well, I'm kind of the one always getting the world in trouble to begin with, so..." and Gold looks at him with a concern look and says "Mk, it wasn't your fault" and then Monkey King says "Ah, I wouldn't say that".

"Well, I let DBK take your staff and use it to destroy the city" Mk stated. "Well, that's true" Monkey King says and Gold comes in and says "Technically Princess Iron fan was the one that stole it from you".

"And it was my hair that somehow made Spider Queen super powerful, who also destroyed the city" Mk adds and then Monkey King says "Yeah, I still don't really get why that happened" and Gold comes in again and says "It is a possibility, but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with a certain Bone Demon" and then Mk exclaimed "And I practically gave Red Son the magic key that freed the Lady Bone Demon, who also destroyed the city!" and after he said that, Gold grabbed Mk by his shirtfront and shook him violently as she said "Mk! For the last time, none of this was your fault! Red son stole it from you, you didn't give it to him!!".



"Ah, you gotta learn to let that stuff go, bud! Besides, literally every one of those guys were people I rubbed the wrong way to begin with. Believe it or not, I wasn't always the easiest to get along with" Monkey King said. "What?! But you're always so cute and cheeky" Mk says and Gold looks at him with a deadpanned expression as she stated in a matter of fact tone "Mk, if you would've read the actual stories instead of only the parts about Monkey King, you would know that he was wild and rebellious".

"I know! Anyway, the point is mistakes happen but so long as you leave the world in better shape than you found it, then it's all good, right?" Monkey King said and then Mk remembered Lady Bone Demon's words in the afterlife.

"That pursuit only leads to one thing... Pain..."

"Honestly, I'm kind of liking the world how it is right now, so.. if it could just stay like this forever, that'd be awesome" Mk says, causing Monkey King and Gold to share a look before the sage says "Yeah, well. Forever's a long time, bud. Trust me" and then suddenly Gold sighs as she was now wearing a cleaning outfit and says "Well... We better get started".



The trio began organizing the items around them before Gold noticed some magazines. Curious, she went over and picked one up and was surprised to see a magazine of the Krew on the front cover.



Gold starts looking through the pages and smiles when she sees her siblings in the pages before she notices something that makes her eyes widened with a slight blush on her face. It revealed to be a page of herself in a pop star outfit as there were hearts surrounding her.



"Uh... Hey, Wukong..." Gold called out to him while looking over her shoulder.

"Yeah, Gold?"

"Why is there a magazine page of me surrounded by hearts?" Gold suddenly yelped when Monkey King zoomed over and quickly snatched the magazine out of her hands. "It's nothing! You don't need to worry about it!!" Monkey King says while sweating bullets as he tossed the magazine aside with a huge blush on his face, causing Gold to look completely confused and dumbfounded while Mk snickered in the background. A few moments later, they finished sorting through everything as Mk says "Welp, think that's all of 'em" and then Gold comes over while letting out a sigh of relief and wipes the sweat off her forehead as she says "Yep. And I thought Draco's room was the messiest room I've ever seen".

Coco and the monkeys were surrounding something nearby as this caught both Mk and Gold's attention. They went over and saw it was a dark blue scroll made out of bamboo slips as it has pale blue lining and tassels. "Hmm? Oop, this one nearly got away from us. Looks like some kind of uh magic bundle of sticks or something" Mk says as he grabs the scroll the monkeys on his back and Gold examines it before saying while Coco was on her shoulder "It looks like some type of scroll..." and Monkey King looks over before becoming alerted as he exclaimed with his arm out in a panic tone "Guys, wait!".

Somehow with the force of gravity, the scroll unrolls by itself and everyone's faces go blank as a dark, ominous aura descended in the room and ink began spilling out, startling both Mk and Gold as the Monkie Kid drops the scroll as more ink comes out, "Uh oh! Uh, I did a thing!" and then an ink hand grabs Mk's leg, causing him to fall down while the monkeys and Coco run behind Monkey King as the room becomes darker and colder. Gold pulls Mk away as she holds him close while watching as ink demons begin emerging from the pool of ink before shapeshifting into an ink version of the Demon Bull King. Monkey King quickly grabs and moves Mk and Gold out of the way before ink Demon Bull King can land a blow on them. "The Demon Bull King?! I-I thought we were cool!" Mk exclaimed and Gold quickly said "Mk, that's not DBK!!" and then the form shapeshifts to an ink Princess Iron fan followed by a powerful blast of wind pushed them back. "Monkey King, what are we supposed to do?!" Mk asked as the ink Princess Iron fan shapeshifts into Spider Queen and then Gold froze when she heard a familiar eerie laugh before the ink transformed into an ink version of Macaque, who screams.

"Monkey King/Wukong?!" Mk and Gold both exclaimed before voices started appearing, making Monkey King froze.

"You're nothing!"

Suddenly an ink version of Nezha appeared with his spear.

"Sun Wukong, what have you done?!"

"Monkey, no violence!" the Great Monk's voice was suddenly heard.

"No!" Monkey King yelled before the trio leaped back as the ink Nezha stabbed his ink spear and came into contact with the monkeys, including Coco and Monkey King rolled back while Mk and Gold both landed on their feet. "COCO!!!" Gold screamed as she and Mk both rushed forward to try and save them, but they sank below the ink as they reached them. "No...!" Gold had tears forming in her eyes while Mk stared at his hand with on it with a scared look before Gold looked up and froze in place when the ink Nezha shifted into the Jade Emperor before changing into an elephant demon, who spoke.

"You would betray your own brothers?!"

Gritting his teeth, Monkey King ignored the sting of pain as the ink elephant demon now shifts into an eagle demon.

"Some monsters can... never change!"

Suddenly the ink eagle demon forms an ink ji and then Mk and Gold both snapped out of their trance and looked up as Mk says "Uh oh!" and Gold immediately stood in front of Mk with her arms out as the ink eagle demon struck down the ji, but Monkey King suddenly appeared and blocked the blow with his magic. "Wukong!!" Gold called out in worry, but Monkey King let out a small chuckle and said "You know, you make a couple of mistakes in your life, no one ever lets you live it down. Looks like the ghosts of my past have finally caught up with me" and then suddenly Monkey King's entire body except his face became covered in ink.

"WUKONG!!!" Gold cried out in horror. "Mk! Peaches, you gotta seal that scroll, no matter... what!" Monkey King said and and Mk asks "What?! But how?" but Monkey King sinks below the ink and the glow traces back across one of the planks. Unable to do anything else, Gold immediately grabs Mk and the two start running towards the exit as the ink eagle demon stabs the ji again followed by an evil laughter with the scary ink hands following after them. "All good! This is totally fine! I'll figure it out!" Mk exclaimed before looking over his shoulder and saw the ink creatures chasing after them, causing him to scream.

"Don't stop! Keep running, Mk!!" Gold yelled as they raced out the cave and leaped through the waterfall before falling into the lake. They looked back to see that the ink demons have made it to the entrance, but are blocked by the seal on the waterfall reacted to the strange magic and caged the beasts inside. Mk sits there in the lake panting heavily along with Gold, who shakingly managed to stand up as she looked completely horrified by what just happened as she managed to say one thing with tears forming at the corner of her eyes.
