Narrator's POV

The group arrives in another chapter as Mk, Mei, Ally, Hunter, Bai He and Genya all land on the dock while Tang falls into the swamp. The two young adults, three teenagers and little girl look over the edge of the dock and immediately scream at the sight of an alligator beating up Tang and later when they realize another alligator is screaming along with them. "Hang on Mr. Tang!!" Genya suddenly yelled as he immediately jumped into the swamp to save Tang.

After rescuing Tang and finding a safe location, the group recover off to the side and Mei wraps bandages around Tang's head. "Dang, I had a really good feeling about this chapter! I mean pigs love mud puddles!" Mk says while catching a breather. "And snuffling for truffles" Mei adds as she placed her elbow on Tang's head. "Seriously you two?! Have you guys ever seen Pigsy loving mud? Because as far as I'm concerned I haven't!" Ally yelled, making the two look at her and shake their heads.

"That's it! This Tang has had it! We've been through a bajillion chapters from Monkey King's Journey to the West and I feel like we're no closer to finding Pigsy, Sandy, my kids, Aphmau or Monkey King. I'm tired, my feet hurt, and I've had this thing attached to me since we've been to the chapter with the snake village!" Tang says as he revealed a snake under his sleeve still biting his arm, making Genya groan as he yanked the snake off his arm, giving it a death glare before throwing it to the side.

"Ah, don't be like that Mr. Tang. It wasn't so bad. Those Snake Lady Demons were actually pretty friendly" Mk said before Tang yelled "THEY TRIED TO EAT ME!!!" and then Mei says "It's not our fault you look so sweet" and then Tang groans before saying "Ugh. I just wish we could find our friends and go home" and Mk goes over to Tang and says with a sigh "Okay, so I'm totally hearing your concerns and look, I get it! Learning to use your new powers is hard. Trust me, I know. I just think that maybe- and don't be offended by what I'm about to say- maybe if you spent a little less time complaining and a little more time thinky thinking, then we might have found our friends by now? Maybe?" and this made Ally, Bai He, Genya and Hunter nod in agreement.

"Hey! I'm following these vague instructions from this mysterious Azure Lion perfectly! We should have found someone by now. What did Azure Lion tell you, exactly?" Tang asked and Mk began to recall what Azure Lion told them.

Flashback

"And you believe your friend is mystically powerful, comparable to the Great Monk Tang Sanzang?" Azure asked as he was writing down instructions in the scroll. "Yeah! I mean, probably" Mk said sounding unsure and Ally sighs before saying "Yes, Mr. Tang does have the same abilities like the Great Monk had".

"Well, if he's learned in the mystical arts, then these instructions should suffice. It's fairly advanced, but it was said the Great Monk had the ability of sight beyond sight" Azure said and this confused Mk as he asked "What?" and Hunter says while Azure gave Mk the instructions "He's basically saying that the Great Monk can see the past like if he were really there, Mk".

Flashback Ends

"And then he said something like, 'if your bonds of friendship are strong, then you will always find your way back to one another'" Mk says while making the impression of Azure lion, making Ally and Bai He both giggled.

"What? But-But I'm not learned in the mystic arts. I'm a cram-before-the-exam kinda guy. I can't really even use my powers when I want to" Tang said. "Well, might wanna get cramming then, cram boy. Eh?" Mei says and then Tang glares at her before getting up and starts walking away. "Hey! Where do you think you're going, young man?!" Mk shouted and Tang shouts back while grabbing his staff "To get cramming, apparently! Hah!" and with that, he left. "Mr. Tang, wait!!" Ally shouted and quickly went after him with Hunter following behind her before Genya could even move a muscle.

"Sheesh. Why's he so cranky?" Mk asked and then Mei said "He's probably just Tangry. You know, when your Tang is so hungry, he gets-" and Mk got the memo as he says "Angry, yeah. Tang, Hungry, Angry. Makes sense" and this made Genya and Bai He both deadpanned at Mk, who sighs before asking "We should probably follow him, right?" and Mei says with a nod "Oh, hundred percent".

"Ya think!" Genya said with an annoyed tone.

Meanwhile with Tang

Tang was walking alone in the woods before stopping, "If your bonds of friendship are strong, then you will always find your way back to one another. Here comes Tangy Kid!" and he uses his khakkhara and a golden cicada appears, "That's not what I was trying to do. Oh, stupid powers. I'll never get the hang of this. Oh, Pigsy, where are you?" and unknown to Tang, the golden cicada lands on a rope, triggering a trap. "I really should have seen this coming" Tang says with his arms crossed before he heard someone calling out to him.

"Mr. Tang? Mr. Tang, where are you?"

Soon he saw Ally and Hunter running towards him as the young girl asked in concern "Mr. Tang, are you okay? What happened?!" and Tang says in relief "Ally, Hunter! Boy am I glad to see you two!" and with that, Hunter picks up Ally as she begins trying to reach the rope to free Tang while saying "Don't worry, Mr. Tang I'll have you out in a jiffy!" and then suddenly someone approaches as both Hunter and Ally didn't notice. "Mei? MK? I sure hope it's you guys" Tang started to laugh nervously, causing the two teenagers to look at him in confusion before the two looked over their shoulders and then the trio screamed when they see a giant demon swing their rake at them, knocking them out.

A Few Moments Later

After that, Tang woke up in a pot that was filled with green liquid, tentacle, a demon skull and some other stuff while Ally and Hunter were both still unconscious and are next to a pot tied up together.



"Wah?! Where am I?! Kids!!!" Tang shouted in fear before noticing a familiar pair of pig ears and started to say in relief "Oh, Pigsy. I've never been happier to..." but his face drops as he sees the figure, "See you?".

"Pigsy? Yeah, real original, Monk. You're baskin' in the presence of none other than Zhu Ganglie. Celestial swine and greatest chef in all of China!" the pig demon known as Zhu Ganglie introduced himself before the window opened revealing a two-headed demon as he asked "Oi, you open yet?" but then he screams when Zhu Ganglie throws his butcher knife at him, but misses him before Zhu Ganglie stomps over towards him.

"Zhu Ganglie... Monkey King's piggy companion. If we're really connected to the ancient warriors through our past lives, then maybe Pigsy is inside this big hog waiting to be awakened" Tang said to himself as he was searching for his staff and luckily he found it. "Oh, if I could just reach my gold jangly stick" Tang tried to free himself before he suddenly heard groaning and snapped his head to see that Ally and Hunter had both regained consciousness. "Wha... What happened?" Ally says with a groan. "Kids! Oh good, you're okay!" Tang says in relief as the two teenagers noticed Tang was in the pot while tied up.

"Mr. Tang? What happened? Why are you tied up?! Wait, why are we tied up?!!" Hunter exclaimed before trying to break free. "Dinner will be served when I says it'll be served!" Zhu Ganglie shouted at the demon, catching Ally and Hunter's attention. "I don't think that's Pigsy" Ally says in a scared tone. "So, call it a soft five?" the two-handed demon asked before Zhu Ganglie slams the door windows in their faces. "Ooh, dinner, you say? Oh, I'm famished. What's on the menu?" Tang asked and that's when Zhu Ganglie evilly grins at him, making Tang realize that he's the dinner.

"Ah, me! I'm the dinner. Excellent"

Outside of Zhu Ganglie's Shop

Meanwhile outside, demons of all kinds are lined up waiting to eat.

"Can't wait for it to open"

"Oi, did you hear? Zhu Ganglie is serving fresh monk meat tonight" a female demon spoke before laughing and the demon behind her groans and states "He always cooks out the flavor".

"Meh. Monk meat's monk meat"

Mk, Mei, Genya and Bai He were hiding behind some boulders as they overheard the demons talking. "So, 'monk meat' means Tang meat, right?" Mk asked. "I'm tellin' ya, it's 'cause the guy looks so sweet" Mei said, making Genya deadpanned while Bai He looked confused by Mei's statement. "Okay, so looks like... Yep, yep, yep, everyone in this town is definitely a demon. How are we gonna sneak past them and save Tang?" Mei asked. "I'll use my most powerful ability of all. Creativity" Mk said and Mei was in awe, Genya looked completely dumbfounded while Bai He was curious on what disguises they were going to use.

Mk dons them with new demon disguises as he and Mei were both covered in some sticks, moss and leaves.



"Great disguises, MK! Thanks again for not using your 72 transformations just so you could include me" Mei said, making Mk's face shrink as he forgot he had that power while a small sweat appeared on his face. "Yeah. No problem. Didn't just forget I had that ability or anything" Mk said as he chuckled nervously.

'He definitely forgot' Bai He and Genya both thought to themselves with a sweatdrop and that's when Mk and Mei noticed that Genya and Bai He weren't in any sort of disguise. "Wait, why aren't you two in disguise?" Mei asked and that's when Bai He pulled out something from her pocket as it revealed to be a necklace with light purple and blue beads with an orange crystal in the middle.



The trio watch as Bai He puts on the necklace and lightly taps the gem before her appearance completely changes from being a human to a demon form with red horns, pointy ears, small bat wings and a heart-shaped tail.



"Guess it's my turn..." Genya spoke before taking a deep breath and closes his eyes. After a few seconds, his look changed as the tips of his hair gained yellow highlights, his mouth grew fangs and his eyes became a demonic combination of black sclera and yellow irises.



"Whoa!!" Mk and Mei both exclaimed in amazement before Genya had a hard glare on his face and demanded "Whatever you do... Do not tell Ally about this. And I have a good reason for it! Now let's get this over with and save them" and with that, Genya began heading towards the land with the others confused on why he didn't want Ally to know about his transformation.

The group began to cut through the line while apologizing to the demons they bumped into.

"Oops. Pardon me. Coming through"

"Excuse me"

Mk crashes into another demon, who turns and looks at them as Bai He hides behind Genya, feeling nervous.

"Uh, is this the line for the sweet, sweet monk meat? I'm ever so hungry" Mk asked with an accent before a glop of goop drips off him, making Bai He and Genya nervous.

Luckily the demon didn't see it and replied "Sure is, fellow demon" and then Mk asked "Huh, awesome. Can we get cutsies?" and this caused all the demons behind them to immediately turn hostile and physically move the group to the back.

"Get to the back of the line! You want cutsies, I'll give you cutsies!"

"Ugh! By the time we get through this line, there won't be any sweet, sweet Tang left" Mei says before Mk looks up and spots the chimney as he catches the group's attention.

"I've never missed a meal before. I'm not gonna start now"

Meanwhile back inside the Shop

Zhu Ganglie is tossing in ingredients to cook Tang with.

"Uh, Pig- Zhu Ganglie, I'm your Tangy. You have to remember" Tang says as he tries to get Pigsy to remember him. "Tangy, huh? Eh, it's okay. We'll boil that right out of you, and as for you two" Zhu Ganglie threw a frog but misses the pot before turning to both Ally and Hunter.

"What? What about us?" Ally spoke with a glare, feeling a little brave while Hunter seemed a little nervous about the situation. "Nothing, you two are just snacks" Zhu Ganglie turns back around to continue cooking. "Wait! I-I mean, sure, you could just boil me, but I have sampled delicacies from East to West. And though you truly are a chef of..." Tang looks over at the dirty dishes and nearly gags, "Great renown, there is one greater still".

"Oh, yeah? And who might that be?" Zhu Ganglie appeared in front of Tang as he asked, sounding interested. "A swine not unlike yourself. A culinary genius whose skills are unrivaled. They say Dan Hua Tang courses through his veins, and he walks this mortal plane with one sole purpose: To follow 'the code!'" Tang says dramatically, making Ally and Hunter both realize what he was doing before grinning. "Wait, wait a minute. What code?" Zhu Ganglie asked, looking confused.

Tang grins before saying "The chef's code: Always leave your customers satisfied. I have devoted my life to this man and observed his great culinary wisdom. Allow me to share this knowledge with you and make you, truly, the greatest chef in all of China!".

"Huh" Zhu Ganglie thought for a second before agreeing, "Yeah, alright then. It's a deal. And afterwards, I get to eat you" and this made Hunter sweat bullets while anime tears fell down from Ally's face as she muttered "We're doomed...".

"Sure. Let's go with that" Tang sighed.

And with that, Tang began instructing Zhu Ganglie how to cook one of Pigsy's recipes from cleaning his cook area to chopping the ingredients as Ally and Hunter both watch in awe and amazement.

Meanwhile Outside the Shop

"Oi, hurry up in there, swine! We're starving out here!"

The demons were getting impatient while the group, who were out of their disguises are sneaking up to the chimney with Genya carrying Bai He on his back.

Back Inside the Shop

After doing everything, Zhu Ganglie finally adds the broth to the noodles. "There. Now all that's left is the taste test" Tang says as Ally and Hunter both watch with anticipation. "So, you really think this is gonna make me the greatest chef in China?" Zhu Ganglie asked as he was unsure. "May our lives depend on it" Hunter spoke.

Zhu Ganglie then scoops up a spoonful of soup while Tang, Ally and Hunter were sweating profusely. Zhu Ganglie takes a sip and once he got the taste, images flashed through his mind. Memories he shared with his friends, nieces and nephew appeared with him, Mk, Rainbow and Kawaii Chan in the Food Wars competition, Tang trying to steal his noodles from his bowl, giving a bowl of noodles to Mk when he was a child and his favorite memory of all; the Krew when they were children playing little helpers as they helped him with the shop. Once the memories finished flowing into his mind, Zhu Ganglie's body was surrounded in a pink glow as Tang, Ally and Hunter watched as his form was changed back into Pigsy.

"Tang? Kids?!" Pigsy was shocked to see them tied up.

"Hmm?"

Tang immediately leaps at him in a hug as he was still tied up and nuzzles against Pigsy's cheek, "Pigsy! Oh, I'm so happy you're back!".

"Oh, Tang. Oh, I'm so sorry I was about to cook you. Badly. Oh, so badly" Pigsy apologized and Tang nuzzles against his cheek again while Ally and Hunter both smiled before the young girl sighs and says "Alright then! Let's get out of here" and with that, Ally manages to grab her dagger from her pocket as she begins cutting the ropes that she and Hunter were tied up with.

Outside the Shop

Mk, Mei, Genya and Bai He have made it to the roof, keeping in check that nobody's watching. But unfortunately for them, Mk takes a step and accidentally pops a brick loose which drops to the ground, catching all the impatient demons' attention.

"Oi, those demons is cutting the line!"

"Uh oh" Mk and Mei both said in unison before the group suddenly fell through the roof, crashing into Pigsy and Tang, who landed right back in the pot while Ally and Hunter quickly moved out of the way as they were free. "Oh! Hi, Piggy! I didn't know you were here" Mei said before Bai He gasped and quickly ran towards Ally and Hunter as she hugged them and exclaimed happily "Guys, you're okay!" and this makes Ally smile as she hugs the little girl back while Hunter only gives a small smile.

"Uh, guys, we got a problem!" Mk said as the demons start breaking in.

"Give us something to eat!"

"We're sick of waiting, swine. We want that sweet, sweet monk meat!"

Mk slaps Tang out of the pot and carries him as Ally quickly rushed over and cuts the rope with her dagger while Mei breaks down the wall by using herself. "Yo, there's a back door. LEGGO!" Mei ushered the group. "Pigsy, come on!" Mk called out to him as everyone else was by the hole.

"No. I can't leave yet, it's the code" Pigsy said.

"The code? What code?" Mei asked as she was confused on what he meant. "The chef's code; Always leave your customers satisfied" Pigsy stated as he grabs his rake

"You're kidding, right?!/What?!/Are you serious?!" Mk, Mei and Genya all yelled in unison before Pigsy started using his rake/power to cook up a huge meal.

"It's beautiful" Tang says with tears in his eyes while Ally, Bai He, Genya and Hunter were all in awe as the little girl says "My mom has the coolest uncle ever...".

Mk suddenly hears someone calling his name, causing him to turn around to see Monkey King looking at him from behind. He saw Flower Fruit Mountain and a small rock sitting on top as he heard Monkey King calling his name over and over again and then the small rock cracks before the vision disappears as he's drawn back to the present with Mei calling out to him.

"MK! Tell Pigsy to stop cooking!" Mei shouted as she hit a demon by using Tang while Ally, Hunter and Genya surrounded Bai He in a protected circle. Pigsy finally finishes and brings his rake down, sending a tidal wave of noodles and soup at the hungry demons as they were all knocked back.

"Another satisfied customer" Pigsy stood triumphantly.

MK then looks away as he was thinking about the vision he just had. He wonders why he's having visions about Flower Fruit Mountain, the small rock and why Monkey King was calling out to him.
