I gripped my phone tightly as Alex his voice sounded trough the speaker of my phone, I made sure to turn around so the girl wouldn't hear a thing. Her eyes where magnetic and I wouldn't have minded to stare at her while calling, but this was to important and private for her ears to possibly hear it.

"Are you done yet?" Alex's voice crackled through the phone.

"No, Alex," I muttered, glancing at the line moving slowly. "I was just picking up breakfast for us. Do you have him located yet?"

Our work in London had stirred up more attention than I preferred, but we didn't have many options. The target was a master of disappearing into crowds, and he knew how to hide himself in the city's labyrinthine streets. I heard some rustling on the other side. My brothers probably fighting who could talk.

"Okay, I might go after him already. Alex and I are close on his tracks," Cassian said, the excitement in his tone barely masked. I gritted my teeth. They were morons together, adrenaline junkies with zero patience. I could almost see Alexander egging him on, eyes alight at the thought of the chase.

"Don't do that," I snapped, feeling the headache coming on. My hand went to my temple, massaging it briefly before continuing. "Then you'd better hurry up''. Morons ''Fine, I'm coming'' I grabbed the order, giving the girl a quick glance, before scurrying out of the bakery.

"Here," I said, setting the scones down on the table in our rented hotel room. The two of them barely glanced up before returning their focus to their screens. Cassian hair was a tousled mess, while Alexander's reading glasses perched low on his nose, giving him a scholarly look.

"I brought food, idioti," I added, finally getting their attention. With that, they quickly sprang into action, making their way over to grab the well-deserved coffee and scones.

"So, have you picked up his location?" I asked once they settled back in. Alexander looked up, his eyes narrowing. "He's holed up in White Horse Alley, hiding out in one of the apartments. What were you up to, brother?"

His gaze landed on my small smile, and I couldn't help but think of the girl from earlier. "Nothing. Just... let's grab him at seven tonight," I said, trying to shake off the distraction.

They exchanged sceptical looks. "Did you see a girl? You know it'll never work out, right?" Cassian shot me a knowing glance. "Un uomo può sognare, Cas," Alexander chuckled softly, but I glared at them, irritation bubbling beneath the surface. I needed to focus. With that, I steeled myself and began preparing for the evening ahead.

''come on David just tell us where you hid the stolen goods?'' we had trusted David as one of our Capo's, a big mistake after we found out that he stole large amounts of money and weapons, giving them away to the Russians.

''I don't know Don, I didn't do anything'' he stuttered ''stronzate'' Cassian was irritated, Alex and I gave each other glances ''bang'' I gave our former capo a warning shot. He trembled In fear, good.

"Hello? Who's there?" a girls voice sounded, I knew that voice. Soft footsteps became louder as she walked in, I did not turn around, neither did Cas, Alex or any of our men. They knew better than that. , "You know, ganging up on someone isn't exactly polite..." Her soft voice sounded, I could listen to her any day.

I chuckled softly turning around, her eyes widened In recognition "Sweetheart, you shouldn't have seen this," my tone was dark and I could see her visibly shaking. I made eye contact with my Cassian, he raised his brow ''Cas , grab the girl''

Alex barely glanced at her as he calmly loaded my gun and fired, the shot landing squarely in the centre of David's forehead. "Nice one," I muttered as blood spattered across the alley walls. The silence was shattered by a scream, echoing off the bricks. I looked around, realizing the girl had bolted. "Cazzo, perché non hai preso la ragazza, Cas?" I snapped, rubbing my temple as frustration built. I took off down the alley after her, footsteps pounding as her frantic calls for help rang out.

"Help!" she cried, her voice cutting through the empty street. "Cazzo," I cursed, picking up my pace. Finally, I tackled her, pinning her down and clamping a hand over her mouth to stifle another scream. Her wide, terrified eyes met mine, but I only tightened my grip, ensuring she wouldn't break free this time.

By then, Cassian and Alexander had caught up, their expressions unreadable as they watched me pin down the terrified girl. Her face twisted in fear, and I leaned in, murmuring, "Shhh." She shook her head, trying to resist, but she was out of options.

"Chloroform," I ordered calmly. One of the men handed me a cloth, and I pressed it gently over her mouth and nose, ensuring it would stay in place. My gaze locked onto her tear-streaked eyes as she struggled against the inevitable.

"Come on," I coaxed softly. She released a faint, resigned breath, and I watched as her body slowly relaxed, her eyes fluttering closed. "There you go," I murmured, the tension in her form disappearing as unconsciousness took over.

Gently, I lifted her into my arms, cradling her to my chest. Alex and Cas exchanged glances as I turned towards the car, their expressions tinged with curiosity but offering no questions as they followed behind.
