Her small fists were clenched tightly, knuckles pale as if she were bracing for something. Cassian settled on the couch beside us, his usual smirk playing on his lips. Alexander took the armchair near the fireplace.
Cassian gave me a smug look before turning his attention to our little baby, was it wrong for us to keep her? Maybe. "what would you like to watch birdie?" Alex look at Jules waiting for her reaction to come, she pushed her head into my chest. I gave Cas a playful glare "Smettila di spaventare la ragazza, Cas" My voice rumbled low, a playful scolding"Metti su il lacrimatore." Cassian shrugged, unbothered as usual, and turned his focus to the television. After a few moments of quiet, I felt Jules nestle closer against me, when her hands fell limp, i tucked her in closer.A faint smile tugged at my lips as I threaded my fingers gently through her tangled, dirty-blonde hair, untangling the strands with care.
Alexander, watching the scene unfold, raised an amused brow at me, his lips curving into a silent "lucky bastard." I shot him a one-fingered salute, smirking as I settled my arms back around Jules's waist, holding her securely against me. "So," Cassian began, his voice breaking the quiet moment, "what exactly are we planning to do with our little bambina?" I turned my gaze to Alex. He wasn't as impulsive as Cassian, but he had his fair share of ideas."I say we keep her," I said finally, my voice steady. Cassian let out a low chuckle, leaning back against the couch. "Mhm, smitten already, huh?" His tone was teasing, but the smirk that followed was pure Cassian. Alexander didn't even bother with words. He shot Cassian a sharp glare, shutting him off. Cassian held up his hands in mock surrender, the amusement still glinting in his eyes. "I'd say we keep her inside for now," I continued, glancing down at Jules.
Alexander sighed, his hand moving to scratch his chin. "Maybe we should give her some space. She's scared, Nico," he murmured, his voice unusually gentle. "We can't let her go, even if she hadn't seen what went down earlier," Cassian interjected, leaning back against the couch. His tone leaving no room for arguments. "In fact, I think we need to be stricter. She'll adjust faster that way."
"Weren't you the one who went all psycho on the plane, Alex?"
Alexander groaned, running a hand through his hair before abruptly standing. "You're impossible, Cas," he muttered, disappearing through the doors without another word. Cassian watched him leave, then turned to me with a wry smile. "What?" I asked, shaking my head. "You know I'm right," he replied.
"We all have our problems Cas"

I shot up at the sound of shouting from the kitchen. Jules and Alexander were no longer in the living room. Cassian and I exchanged a glance before bolting toward the kitchen. When we reached the kitchen, Alexander was pacing the kitchen, shards of a shattered yogurt bowl scattered across the tiled floor, the box of raspberries crushed and leaking juice like spilled blood. His hands trembled, barely containing his rage.
"She ran," Alexander growled, his voice low and venomous. "She fucking ran."
His eyes locked onto mine, wild with anger. Cassian stepped forward, calm but firm, and grabbed Alexander's shaking hands, bringing them down to his sides. "She can't get far, Alex. The perimeter's surrounded by fences, remember?" I let my eyes flicker over the two, Cas could be caring when he wanted. Alexander didn't seem calmed. His breath came out in uneven breaths as his jaw clenched tightly. "I'll get the garden, cas look in the garage and Nico check the vegetable garden!" he barked, I didn't like being commanded but if it was about Jules I'd shut up in a minute "Here take the handcuffs, I'll call you both in a few minutes. She can't be far" I brushed my hand across my face before walking off.
I had checked the greenhouse when I heard Alex shouting "JULES" I ran to the kitchen meeting with Cas when I did. "He seems to have gotten her" Cassian stated his eyebrow raised "serves him right for losing her" i shot back before taking out my phone to call Alex "l'hai presa?"
"L'ho presa, torno a casa adesso" he answered before hanging up. They returned a few minutes later, she was slung over his shoulder, her hands tied up behind her back, her eyes met my angry gaze first before they raked over to Cassian "look at you your clothes al dirty, mhmm" he rubbed his thumbs across her lip, she had turned her head down in shame. She'll learn quickly.
"Prendi le manette di pelle e la porto a fare la doccia" Alexander muttered under his breath before walking up the stairs. I walked to her room, cas was grabbing some extra cuffs from the room. I could hear Alex and our baby in the bathroom, he wasn't to happy. I turned around when I heard a small slapping sound, thinking nothing of it i put some tension on the chains to see if they wouldn't budge. The bathroom door opened, and Jules stepped out, freshly cleaned and wrapped in an oversized black shirt that hung loosely around her frame. Her socks were a fluffy white, and she looked smaller somehow, more vulnerable. She would look so good beneath me. Her breath hitched when she saw the cuffs on the bed. I looked at Alex who had enough, he dragged her over to the bed. Throwing her on the bed when she tried to struggle against him, she hadn't seen me yet and looked like a deer caught in headlights when I grabbed her wrists tightly, putting some pressure on them. When Alexander had put the cuffs on i dragged the hook that sat connected to them over to the small hook above the bed, dragging her up in the process. Cassian had walked in by now too, throwing the extra set of leather cuffs to Alexander, he held her feet still while, Alex put them on, attaching them to the hook that set on the front of the bed. "We don't want to hurt you baby, but you really leave us no choice" Alexander said as he placed a soft kiss on her leg before turning his attention to me
"We gave you a chance, you blew it Jules. Maybe a few hours alone will teach you something" I flicked down my angry stair to her, Cassian walked over to the curtains, drawing them close leaving the room in darkness. Her eyes teared up "i-I'm sorry-y" her small voice peeped out, cute. She seemed scared of the dark.
"Sorry means nothing, darling" Alexander stated, the three of us walked out of the room. Leaving her alone in the darkness "P-PLEASE LET ME OUT, IM SCAR-RED OF THE DARK-K" her shouts made my heart clench a little, but she needed to learn. I locked the room, Jules's voice carried through faintly as we walked away, her fear evident but mixed with exhaustion. Alexander shot me a look before walking to the library.
