Okay, was nobody going to tell me that I skipped chapter Eleven? I've fixed it, but now I'm wondering what else y'all haven't told me.
------------------------------------
{Quick summary of the Mafia game for those who haven't played. There are two teams. The townspeople and the mafia. There are also two cycles. The day cycle and the night cycle. During the night cycle, while everyone else is "sleeping" the mafia strikes, killing one person per cycle. Unless someone with a special role decides to spice things up. During the day cycle, the townspeople and the mafia discuss who had been killed and pick two people to accuse of being in the mafia. Each accused person gets 30 seconds to plead their innocence. Then everyone votes, and each round someone is eliminated. Roles will be explained during the chapter}
Juliana's POV
I guess I was lucky, seeing as I got an "interesting" part in the game, however I have no idea how many other mafia players there would be. With the right people, we might be able to pull one over on the others.
However, if none of the actual mafia members were on our team, because that seems like something Elijah would do, then I think they'll be able to figure it out pretty quickly.
"Okay, you may sit up." Elijah said, and what surprised me was that on the table in front of each player, there was a little card face down.
"You all might have noticed the card in front of you, that is mainly so that nobody can cheat, but also to spice things up. There will be six extra roles available in this game. If you happen to get one, whether you are in the mafia, or you are a townsperson, you will have a job to complete, or stick by." Elijah said in a taunting voice.
"We will have a detective, who wakes up after the mafia, and makes a personal guess about someone they think is in the mafia. If they are wrong, then the game goes on, if they are correct, then that person gets eliminated.
"A doctor, who each round has the option to save somebody, and if the mafia chose that person to kill, then that person will survive the night.
"The traitor, who works with the townspeople, but is secretly helping the mafia. The traitor does not wake up with the mafia, making their job twice as hard. Can only win with the Mafia
"The undercover cop, who wakes with the mafia, but is secretly helping the townspeople. Can only win with the townspeople.
"The godfather, who, unlike the traitor, can be in the mafia, however the godfather wakes up a second time, after the mafia, and is allowed to make 2 extra kills per game. Here is the twist. The godfather may also kill mafia members.
"A baker, who chooses one person each night cycle to give bread to, while trying not to reveal themselves. Because if the baker happens to get eliminated, the townspeople will have three days to eliminate all mafia members before everyone starves to death.
"And finally, a jester, whose job it is to try and get voted off.. If that happens, two people will be eliminated. If the jester was a townsperson, two people get killed, and if the jester was a mafia member, two people get voted off."
I tried to pay as best attention to the roles as possible, even though I had the attention span of a weasel. Even if I'm not one of the six, then I could still use that to my advantage.
"Next thing, I need everyone to put their phones on silent." My phone lives on silent, but I still checked to make sure.
"Everyone needs to hold their phone under the table, or in their laps. That is where it is going to stay for the duration of the game. To make it a little easier on them, and harder on the townsfolk, this is how the mafia will be communicating with each other during the night cycle. Once the game begins each mafia member will be placed into a group chat. Any questions?" Elijah asked, placing his hands on my shoulders since he was right behind me now.
Everybody shook their heads.
"Then let the games begin. Everyone close your eyes, heads down." He instructed as he started his slow stroll around the table.
"Mafia, wake up."
I sat up, raising my head from the table and opening my eyes, looking around to see who all was on my team.
Looking around the table I was surprised to see the people that raised their heads. Me, Elliot, and Nonna.
I found this slightly amusing. One, because I was the only person on the team that wasn't an ex, or current, mafia member, but also, one of two things could happen now. Either peoples first guesses will be towards the people already in the mafia, or some of the ones who aren't. E.I, Hunter, Justin and I. Either way, this team works out perfectly because even no matter what pattern people try to sniff out, there will always be an outlier.
"Alright once I see that everyone has access to the group chat, you will have 60 seconds to pick a victim." Elijah said, and each one of us sent confirmation through the group chat that we were in.
"Your 60 seconds has begun." Elijah said from behind Grandpa.
(JULIANA'S TEXTS WILL BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE)
I say we kill Justin
(Elliot) - Why?
(Nonna) - Yeah, why are you singling out Justin?
I'm not. I saw him peking *peeking
(Elliot) - It's literally the first round and he's already cheating?
(Noona) - *sad face
???
(Elliot) - Nonna, that is not how we do emoji's 🤦
(Nonna) - Be nice to me Elliot. Or I'll make you train with Gemma.
Who's Gemma?
(Elliot) - Mind your own business Juliana
I would, but if you failed to notice, I'm in this chat also.
Julia has been removed from the chat
———-—------ End of texting—------——-
"60 seconds it up. Mafia, go to sleep." Elijah interrupted, and I placed my phone face down on my lap, as it had been, and put my head back onto the table.
"Detective, time to wake up." Elijah said, and it was silent.
"Detective, it's time to- oh wait."
I heard Elijah groan and then he started speaking again.
"Everyone, head up. I messed up. I forgot to have you look at your cards and see your roles."
I thought something felt weird.
Very carefully, as to not let Nonna or Justin see my card, I flipped it up just enough to see the four words etched on there in surprisingly neat handwriting.
Team: Mafia
Role: Doctor
Ohhhhh, I can mess with some people now. (evil mental laugh)
"Everyone got it? Okay, heads down, detective, wake up."
I put my head down and held my breath trying to listen and heard who the detective might be.
I did indeed hear a bit of shuffling in my left ear and I stifled a snicker at the thought of what might have just happened.
"Detective go to sleep." Elijah paused for a second. "Doctor, raise your head." another pause as I lifted up my head.
"Who would you like to save?" I try to make sure that I do the least amount of shuffling when I point to Aunt Stefanie, and Elijah cracks a small smile.
"Doctor, go to sleep." He said, concealing all traces of amusement from his voice.
And with that, the first day cycle has begun.
"A horrible tragedy occurred last night. The mafia has struck, murdering an innocent member of our community." Elijah paused dramatically, slowly walking around to our side of the table. I knew he had paused behind me, before he suddenly moved to put his hands onto Justin's shoulders.
"Poor Justin was found dead, shot in his own bed." Justin gasped dramatically.
"What! Why me, what did I do to deserve being shot in my own bed?" He whined.
"I know it's sad buddy, turn your card over and show everyone your roles." Elijah said, patting Justin on the shoulder.
Justin flipped his card over and it took everything inside of me not to burst out laughing.
Justin was the detective.
Looks like we made the right choice anyway. But now for the fun part.
The arguing.
"You may start your accusations." Elijah said with a dramatic sweep of his arm.
"I think dad is in the mafia." Justin said with a huff.
"Dad is in the mafia. So are most of the people in this room dumbass.' Elliot reminded him, and Justin stuck his tongue out at him.
"That's not what I mean and you know it you dumbass." Justin huffed.
"Justin! Don't call your brother a dumbass." Uncle Stefano lectured.
"Well he is. And he called me one first."
"Nobody is allowed to say dumbass, how about that?" Uncle Stefano said, shaking his head at his children.
"You just did." I pointed out.
"Watch it." He said, pointing a finger at me, but the little smile on his face let me know that he was joking.
"I think it's Massimo." I said, and Elliot discreetly gave me a dirty look before acting like nothing had happened.
"Why me?" Massimo asked, giving me a hurt look.
"Because you're always so grumpy, it would make sense." I shrugged, making up the first excuse that I could.
"What does being grumpy have to do with anything? And even then, what motive would I have to get him out of the game?" He asked.
"Maybe you just wanted him out of the way."
"Out of the way of what?"
"How should I know, you're the one who did it."
"I didn't do anything." He said, annoyed as always.
"I agree with Juliana, you're kind of a sourpuss." Elliot commented.
"Oh that's rich coming from you." Massimo laughed.
"Well, I'm just saying, my vote is with the kid." Elliot shrugged. A murmur of a few others, cough Nonna and Hunter cough, had Massimo gaping like a fish.
"So you're saying that me having no motive other than being grumpy makes me a suspect, however the fact that Elliot is suddenly siding with Julie? When have those two ever gotten along?" Massimo pointed out,
"Elliot is getting along with me because he wants you to be voted out." I said in a duh voice.
You know, I have no idea why I tried to target Massimo, but I have a feeling it's either about to backfire on me, or get one of the biggest threats out of the way.
"Two minute warning. Elliot, do you second Juliana's accusation?" Elijah asked and Elliot gave a small nod which made Massimo shake his head.
"Okay, well you still have to pick another person to put in the hot seat so hurry up." Elijah snapped his fingers and moved his hand in a circular motion.
"Fine, I think Juliana is guilty." Massimo stated.
Oh fuck. It's backfiring.
Just as I thought that, Elliot let out a small infignified snort.
"Massimo, are you listening to yourself? Julie. Really? Firstly, even if she was, why would Justin be the first person she killed? Those two are joined at the hip. And secondly, it's Juliana." Hunter defended, which even though I know he was only trying to throw them off my scent, it still irked me as he had no idea which team I was on.
"Which is exactly why she would choose him, it would confuse us, make us overlook her." Massimo assessed.
Huh. That's actually a really smart idea.
"See what I mean!" Hunter said, motioning to me.
Oops, guess I said that out loud.
"Fine, then it's you." Massimo challenged and Hunter froze.
Okay, why would Hunter freeze up, I can guarantee that he is not in the mafia, so why is he acting guilty when he's not?
"And why would you think that?" Hunter asked.
That's a good question.
"Because, you're mad at Justin. He's stopped hanging around you like he used to. Maybe you're upset about that. Maybe you wanted him out of the game." Massimo challenged and I have to admit, that is a better excuse than being irritable.
Also, what was I thinking with the whole irritable thing? That has to be the most stupid reason to try and vote someone out.
Wait, maybe I don't want him out of the game. Maybe I can use this to my advantage.
"Okay, and?" I piped up, not wanting Hunter out of the game just yet.
"Aren't you mad at him for spilling your coffee all over you? And isn't Elliot mad at him for putting spiders in his shoes?" Ahh, the spiders in the shoes. Good times. Never thought I'd hear Elliot scream like a little girl. *Enter evil laugh.*
"She's got a point." Uncle Stefano added. "I think in this past week, we all have a reason to want Justin out of the game. That is if we were going off of petty little grudges."
"30 seconds." Elijah pipped in.
Ohshitohshitohshit I need to find another person to pin before Massimo or Hunter are the ones voted out.
"True, but if anything, Elijah, wouldn't you be the one with the most grudge against Justin? After all, he did use your phobia to pull a prank on you. We all saw how mad you were." Massimo spoke up, practically doing my job for me.
"Time's up. Final accusations, who is going to trial, Elliot or Hunter?" Elijah asked.
You know, I wonder how Elijah is keeping such a straight face, being as he is the one who assigned us all our teams and roles. Like, he literally knows who is lying, who's innocent. He knows who has the important roles, speaking of roles, why did I get such a boring one? Like, sure, when I get eliminated, the game will have to end in at least 3 more rounds, but with how many people we have, the most amount of rounds we could play would be like, 4 or 5. So what's the point unless I was voted off in the first round? And obviously, I wasn't.
"-ana. JULIANA!" A voice screamed in my ear, making me flinch back, wince, and cover it to prevent further damage to my eardrum.
"What the hell Justin?" I snapped and Justin put his hands up.
"You zoned out." He said and I gave him a go-to-hell look.
"So you decided to prevent any further hearing in my left ear?" I rubbed my ear, which was still ringing, he sure has a set of lungs, and focused back to the room.
"Like I was saying," Elijah repeated once he was sure he had everyone's attention. "Now that the accused are done defending themselves, it's time to vote. To avoid any grudges, I would like you all to close your eyes, and when I say the person's name, please give me thumbs up or down. Up being guilty, and down being not guilty." Elijah explained and we all closed our eyes, saving the theatrics of putting our heads on the table, and got ready to vote.
"Massimo." Elijah said, and I put my thumb up. After a second, he said Elliot's name and I put my thumb down.
"You may open your eyes. Massimo..." Elijah let out a dramatic pause before he continued. "You are safe, Elliot, please flip your card over."
Fuck.
I mean, don't get me wrong, having Massimo stay in the game, I can use that to my advantage, however Elliot getting voted off, and exposed as the mafia, could cause some problems. I mean, not only will someone put two and two together and think about how Elliot randomly siding with me is a little suspicious, but that also left me a Nonna on our own. And while I have full faith in Nonna, it left Nonna with the one person who would probably be the least helpful at winning the game.
Elliot rolled his eyes, his signature move apparently, before flipping his card over and letting it hit the table dramatically.
His card read -
Team: Mafia
Role: Undercover Cop
Oh shit. Looks like this round eliminated two very important people to the townspeople. I could see Elliot as a double agent though. Makes more sense as to why he was suddenly agreeing with me, the little rat was probably trying to put a target on both our backs. And he might have just succeeded.
"Well it is sure looking good for the townspeople in this game, first round and they have already eliminated one of the mafia members. However, don't let it get to your head as the next night cycle has just begun. Heads down." Elijah narrated and everyone laid their heads on the table, eyes closed.
"Mafia, wake up. You have 1 minute to choose your next victim." Elijah said and Nonna and I quickly logged onto the group chat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~Group Chat ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Juliana has been added to the chat
(Nonna) - Any ideas now that it's just the two of us?
I was hoping you would have one, because both mine kind of suck.
(Nonna) - Don't boot it before we've considered it. Tell me.
I was thinking we frame people Like, make it look like someone is guilty even though they're not.
(Nonna) - That is actually a very smart idea. Who did you have in mind?
I was originally thinking Elliot, but then he was on our team. Then I started thinking Massimo. Uncle Stefano or Granpa would just be too difficult.
(Nonna) - You mean Zio Stefano and Nonno
Yes, sorry
(Nonna) - Our time is running out, who do you want to eliminate then?
Hunter
(Nonna) - Why Hunter?
Well, think about it. A lot of people are mad a Hunter rn Especially Massimo. And he hasn't tried to hide it Plus, it would throw them off our scent, because we have been the most "civil" with him out of the group.
(Nonna) - You are an evil little genius Let's do it
—-------——End of Chat Discussion—-----
"Mafia, your time is up. Go to sleep." Elijah paused before he told the doctor to wake up, so I "woke up" again.
"Doctor, who would you like to save?" Elijah asked and I shrugged, pointing to Uncle Stefano. Excuse me, Zio Stefano.
Elijah nodded and I put my head back down.
"Godfather, time to wake up." Elijah said and I practically held my breath, waiting to hear any sort of shuffling or moving that would possibly give away who the godfather was.
Again, nothing.
"Okay, godfather may go to sleep, and our next day cycle has begun." Elijah announced and I lifted my head, preparing myself to see how Elijah is going to announce Hunter's murder.
"An interesting event occurred last night. One of our town members was brutally murdered, ripped from the safety of his own house. He was found the following morning hanging from a pole, n-" Elijah was cut off by Uncle Stefano.
"Okay, Elijah. Keep it PG will you, there are children in the room." He said, and both me and Justin protested that. Me mainly because it was just about to get interesting.
"Fine, Hunter's dead." Elijah deadpanned, no more excitement lingering in his tone. "Better padre?" Elijah asked, and Uncle Stefano gave him a look.
"That's not what I meant and you know it." He said but Elijah just crossed his arms and popped his hip.
Never thought I'd see a grown ass 6 foot something, tatted up, mafia underboss throw a hissy hit at being told to not be so graphic.
"You may start your accusations. And if I may add my opinion. I think it was dad." Elijah huffed and I couldn't help the small giggle that escaped me, but I saw the way that the corner of Elijah's mouth twisted up for about half a second before he hid it and continued to pout.
"To be perfectly honest, I do think it was papa." Massimo piped up, and I looked at him questionably, because this wasn't going where I thought it would.
"Why do you think that?" I asked, genuinely confused.
"Because he was absolutely pissed at Hunter, like we all were, and he can hold a grudge as good as any one of us." Massimo explained and I nodded my head slowly, like I was processing the information.
"Well, so were you." I pointed out after a belated second, as though the idea came to me late.
"We all were, Jules, that's the point. It's not that surprising that Hunter was voted off, just that he wasn't first." Massimo grumbled and I saw my opportunity.
"So you would have voted him off first?" I asked, and Massimo hesitated to answer that, though he realised that he had indirectly already admitted that.
"But it was just easier to throw people off if you didn't, because that would be obvious." I said and Massimo gave me a challenging look.
"That is not what I said."
"But it's what you insinuated." I completed his sentence for him, and if there is one thing I know that Massimo hates, is when people finish his sentences with something he would have never followed with.
"No," He started with a slightly clenched jaw, trying not to show his aggravation. But I was determined to push all his buttons. "How would you know what I was insinuating?"
"So you admit you were insinuating something?" I asked and I saw something click in Massimo's eyes.
"No, I didn't say that."
"But you said 'how would you know what I was insinuating,' not if I was insinuating." I pointed out.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Aunt Stefanie looking like she was about to burst out laughing, and I heard Justin failing to hide his.
"Maybe you're looking a little too deeply into my wording choice."
"And maybe you shouldn't try to gaslight me." I said and this time Elijah was the one who lost it, letting out the laugh that set others off.
"Juliana, if you do not stop-" Massimo had resorted to threatening me, but I was having too much fun to take him seriously.
"Stop what? Why should I stop? Should I stop because you want me to stop, or should I stop because I'm onto your motive?" I asked.
"If that were the case, then I would have killed you after you almost got me eliminated last round." He stated, and I saw the unconscious release of his jaw as he thought he was digging himself out of the hole I had set.
"But that would be too obvious right?" I more so stated. "Like you said last round after accusing me of being the one who chose to kill off Justin. It would be something to throw people off my trail. Choosing me would have been too obvious on your behalf, so you did someone neutral, like Hunter, where it could have been anybody, right?" I asked and I saw the exact moment where Massimo figured out that I had him so backed up that nothing he said would save him.
Massimo's entire demeanour changed. It changed from him just playing the game, to him being calculated. Trying to figure it out. But not the game. I could tell that he wasn't trying to figure out how to prove his innocence, he was trying to figure out me, figure out my angle.
"I think Hunter was right. You may not be on the Mafia team, but it feels like you're siding with them. Like you're either the other double-agent, or you're just trying to get yourself eliminated. Which would make sense if you were the Joker." Massimo claimed and I had to keep a straight face.
Do all of them seriously underestimate me that much?
"You might be right." Nonna piped in for the first time. "She seems very adamant on attacking you. Which she knows would draw attention to herself, and possibly get her eliminated." I could hear the double meaning in Nonna's words. She was discreetly telling me to shut the hell up before I got myself in the hot seat.
Nonna must be a very convincing person because most of the people at the table agreed with her about me being the Jester.
"Try to be more discreet about it, Juliana." Nonna offhandedly suggested. Me being annoyed and wanting them off my back I simply agreed to try before I thought about what I could have just revealed.
It wasn't until I saw the adults giving each other a look that I realised I could actually use this to my advantage.
"I still meant what I said, I do think it's Massimo." I said and I was kind of surprised when Aunt Stefanie was the one to second my decision.
"Alrighty then, since your five minutes are up, we're just going to go ahead and vote. Close your eyes and give me a thumbs up if you think Massimo is guilty, and a thumbs down if you think he's innocent." Elijah said in his usual announcer-like voice.
I closed my eyes and gave a thumbs up, happy that that was over.
"You may open your eyes. Massimo, flip your card over." Elijah said.
"Seriously?" Massimo grumbled as he flipped his card over to reveal that he was indeed a townsperson, and that he did not have a role.
"Wellllll that was a bust. Time for the next night cycle." Elijah said, clapping his hands and motioning for us to all put our heads down.
"Mafia, wake up. You have one minute." Elijah said and once again me and Nonna were off, trying to come up with another strategy now that the other one worked. What? We didn't want people to catch onto what we were doing.
In the end, we decided to try and Aunt Stefanie the "silent observer" and hopefully someone would eventually question why she had been so quiet. Until then, we decided to take out Uncle Stefano.
"Okay, Mafia, heads down. Doctor, time to wake up." Elijah said and I put my head down, waited a second, and then looked back up.
"Who would you like to save this time?" He asked and this time I decided to mess with people. I pointed to Uncle Stefano, and Elijah nodded his head, telling me to put mine back down.
"Godfather, time to wake up." Once again, though I still believed that it would do no good, I held my breath, hoping to hear something.
I didn't. However, something was different this time. Elijah was silent for longer than he usually was before he told us that the day cycle was beginning.
"Okay. Some very interesting things happened last night. My own father was attacked, taking a bullet right to the sternum. However, the doctor was just barely able to save him. But," He said, his voice dramatic as he recalled the 'events' from last night. "Whilst we were all destroyed by the emergency that was my dad, the godfather decided to strike, killing another amongst us."
'Oooh, things are finally starting to get interesting.' I thought, momentarily not even concerned by the fact that it could be me who died.
"And I think you will all be interested to hear that the deceased just so happens to be one of the mafia members." Elijah said secretively.
Oh yeah I'm dead. That can be the only good ending to this. I have full faith that Nonna could probably win this on her own, seeing as she was a mafia member, and probably had all sorts of strategies filed away in that knowledgeable brain of hers.
"The victim was..." Elijah trailed off dramatically and for once I wished he would skip the theatrics, and just spit it out. "Nonna."
Motherfucker.
Nonna glared towards Grandpa like he was the one who had done it. And it's possible that it is him, but if it is I'm screwed.
I mean, all it would take is him literally mentioning that he wants to eliminate me and his word would be law. I guess that's what happens when you become an old person.
"Now, since all we have left are mom (Aunt Stefanie) dad, (Uncle Stefano) and Grandpa, I am going to offer you all a deal. Somebody will be eliminated like usual; however, I will give one person the chance to guess who the godfather is. If you can guess correctly, then your team will win. However, guess incorrectly, and you will automatically be eliminated." Elijah bargained.
I have to admit, for half a second I did consider it, however I didn't want to be the reason that Hunter, and Nonna lost also. Plus I would also like to be able to rub it in Massimo's face for underestimating me.
"Would anybody like to take that offer?" Elijah asked, and the four of us who were still in tha game sort of just looked at each other, all having decided not to risk it. And just as I thought that that would be it, Aunt Stephanie spoke up.
"Why not, I'll guess."
"Okay mom, look at you, taking a risk here. Who do you think it is?" He asked, and Aunt Stephanie took a moment to consider.
"I think it's Juliana." She said, and I looked at her, kind of surprised. Either she said that as a joke, which by the sincerity in her eyes that would be unlikely, or, she would be one of the first to not underestimate me this evening. And if so, she had no idea how much that means to me.
"You would be incorrect. Juliana is not the godfather." Elijah confirmed.
"Well, I tried." Aunt Stefanie said, getting up and moving to sit near the end of the table with the rest of the people that had been eliminated.
"And just like that, it all comes down to one vote. There is one mafia member left, two townspeople. After this, the winner will be revealed. Make your accusations." Elijah said in a voice that made it seem like we were picking between life and death here.
I decided to stay silent this time. At least partially. I wanted to see where this might go without my input. Because of my sudden lack of interest in accusations, Uncle Stefano took it upon himself to start voicing his thoughts.
"There are two possibilities here. Either papa," Uncle Stefano paused to look at Grandpa for a second, and of course grandpa remained impassive, as he had the entire game. "Or Julia." He said, turning to look at me. I tried to remain impassive also, but after a second of him simply staring at me I could help that small smile and giggle that escaped me.
Don't judge me, being serious is hard.
"The thought that Juliana could possibly be the Jester, on a quest to get herself voted out of the game, is still a very bright possibility with how she was acting the duration of the game. Purposely drawing attention to herself, being overly vocal. At least for her. And if that is true, then she has to be one of the townspeople. Now dad, you have been silent almost the entire game. Not to be unexpected from you, but I still wouldn't put it past you to try and play the trick of flying under the radar." Uncle Stefano voiced his active thoughts, and I decided that this game seems to have been going on for too long, so before Granpa could speak up and get me voted out I seconded Uncle Stefano's claim.
"I think it's him also." I said and Elijah nodded.
"Well, there is no need to vote since we know how that would turn out, Nonno, show us your card." Elijah said and Nonno turned over his card to reveal the most boring roles ever.
Team: Townperson Role: Baker
That had to suck, no wonder he didn't really participate in the game, he had nothing fun to do. Wait, that means that Uncle Stefano was the godfather? That's interesting. But why would he kill his own mother? Unless it was a part of some strategy I'm not seeing at the moment.
"Well look at that. The mafia has won the game." Elijah announced and Hunter whooped while Nonna simply smiled.
"Wait, but which one of them was in the mafia, and which one was the godfather?" Justin asked.
"Well, let's see. Uncle Stefano, please show us your card." Elijah said with a smile already on his face.
Uncle Stefano flipped over his card to reveal-
Team: Townsperson Role: Godfather
"Are you kidding me?" Massimo said in disbelief, obviously not wanting to have been beaten by the youngest kid in the family.
"Juliana." Elijah said, motioning for me to reveal my card.
I flipped my card over to reveal that I was indeed in the Mafia, and that I was also the doctor.
"Awesome!" Justin said, hugging me from behind, ignoring how I tensed at his arms being wrapped around my neck.
"Okay, Juliana managed to deceive us all, big whoop." Elliot started. "But are we just going to ignore the literal interrogation tactics that she pulled on Massimo a while ago?" With that, everyone almost simultaneously turned back to look at me and I just shrugged.
"Did I forget to mention that I also considered being a lawyer?"
———————————————— I would once again like to apologise for that excessively long chapter. But if you made it to the end then you've definitely got some willpower. Here's some snacks for your commitment: 🍿🍿
