chapter 18 | Annabeth

"No risk. No story" -unknown

Aria POV

I can't believe I'm wearing his clothes. That asshole. I wanted to change the second I noticed but he was right. My pyjamas were ripped and full of blood so I just took them of and reluctantly put Blake's clothes back on.

And the surround speaker system was also pretty cool. And the music calms me down. Music always helped me. In stressful situations, when I was depressed, when I was happy. And hearing one of my favourite songs right now brings a little comfort.

I was sitting at his kitchen counter finishing the remains of my fruits. I wanted to eat more but after not eating for days I knew I had to take things slow or I might puke everything right back out.

"Aria, as much as I don't want to interrupt your meal we have to talk" Blake started.

I sigh. Honestly, I knew this was coming. With everything going on I didn't give much thought to what Blake told me on the plane. Him claiming that my parents are spies and everything. But then I remember another piece of information I learned along the way.

"Do those men really have my family?"

Blake looked away.

After a couple seconds of silence he continues.

"I got word this morning. They did take your sister while she was at school. And since then your parents disappeared of the face of the world"

I stop breathing. Not Annabeth.

"You mean they were..."

"No, they weren't taken. As I've said before your parents are spies and we think they just went into hiding. To save themselves or search for your little sister under the radar."

My brain was running a million miles an hour. My parents would go directly after Annabeth right? They wouldn't just run like cowards right?

"How can I help?"

"Help? You want to help?" Blake said, sighing. "Then tell us where your parents keep the information"

"What information?" I ask. I don't know what they wanted from me. I still can't accept the fact that my parents are spies. Hell I don't even believe Blake when he says that my sister has been taken. Maybe this is all a big plot coming from their side so they would make me work with them. Promising Annabeth's safety in return. But the man that tried to take me also said something about Annabeth being taken. I don't even know who or what to believe anymore.

"I want to talk to my parents"

Blake POV

I raise my eyebrows.

"Haven't you heard the part when I said they disappeared off the face of the earth."

Aria sighs and bites her lip. Like she's in deep thought. More like debating if she should tell me something or not. I hate this distrust. I want her to trust me, but with someone like Aria, respect is earned and like the asshole I've been, I haven't given her any opportunity to trust me. I have an idea.

"Organise your thoughts I have to make a phone call"

I have an idea. Aria doesn't trust me right now but I'll give her a reason.

Aria POV

Blake leaves the room without another word. I wanted to tell him that my parents made me memorise a phone number since I was little, I know it better than my own name. And they constantly repeated 'Aria, if you're ever in danger call this phone number.' They kept repeating that it works from every country and from any type of phone. Honestly it became such a normal thing for me and my sister we stopped questioning after sometime. But now that I think about it something like this isn't really normal. I have to ask them if Annabeth is really gone and what kind of information does the MI6 want from me.

Blake returned after around 10 minutes.

"Let's go to the living room. I want to show you something."

I don't question it. We both sat on the couch, me a considerable distance away from him. He doesn't comment and turns his laptop on and connects it to the TV. He presses play and a video starts playing.

First, it's security footage from my sister's school. Two men grab her from the sidewalk, put her in a black van and drive away.

I gasp. The security footage changes following the van around the city. After about 5 minutes. They leave Berlin going south and then the video stops.

"What? That's it?" I ask Blake.

"They don't use the highway and it's difficult to track them, we have people looking over satellite footage right now but that takes longer to process. Look Aria, I'm really sorry and believe me I'm doing everything to help" he looked sincere.

I look into Blake's eyes and make a decision. I can't get out of this situation if I don't give something in return. So I tell him about the phone number and my plan to call it.

He waits for me to say everything, then goes on his phone and calls Monique.

I really hope I made the right decision.

"Monique decided. Tomorrow we're calling that phone number."

"We?"

"You speak, we listen." Blake explains looking down.
