The early morning air was teeming with anticipation as Y/n awaited the completion of her sister Musume's morning routine. Musume practically owned the bathroom -due to the countless hours she spent in there on a daily basis and Y/n swore she grew grey hairs each time she did. Y/n's fingers drummed rhythmically against the surface of the bathroom door as she anticipated the moment when she would finally be able to relieve herself.

Y/n's appetite for the day had already been whetted, her stomach growling like a voracious pack of wild beasts, demanding satisfaction. She'd consumed an excessive quantity of orange juice, along with a bountiful serving of golden syrup-slathered pancakes accompanied by strawberries and blueberries, the combination of sweetness and tartness leaving an indelible imprint on her palate. However, the wait was unbearable, and Y/n knew that she would have to be patient a while longer, her bladder feeling painfully full. She just wants to piss but she won't have to soon since she's about to pee herself.

She was a slave to her own bodily functions, a prisoner of the very bladder she had always taken for granted. She couldn't help herself, it was a trap she had fallen victim to and now she had to pay the consequences. She switched from one foot to the other in a desperate attempt to hold in a well-needed piss, she pounded on the door in an eager attempt to get Musume to hurry up.

Musume's constant primping and preening had her reaching the end of her rope, especially on days like today, when she was already running late for school. Her resolve was steel, and she meant every word she was about to say "Musume," she shouted, her voice laced with anger and impatience, "I don't have time for the endless layers of make-up you're slathering on your face. Get out or I'm peeing outside this door!" Her tone was harsh, her words heavy with emotion, as she stood at the threshold of the bathroom, her foot tapping angrily against the floor. If this meant she had to take drastic measures, then so be it. She couldn't let her sister's callousness ruin her day any longer.

She felt like she would burst if she didn't act soon, and so she let loose with a string of expletives, her words laced with a mixture of frustration and desperation, "Hurry up, I'm getting late!" She exclaimed, with an eye roll to accompany her sentence.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Musume says, with the sound of music blasting from her phone drowning out any chances of Y/n complaining yet again. The tension between them was palpable, and Y/n knew that, they both did. This is how things always where between them and today she absolutely refused to let her sister's vanity come at the cost of her dignity. She briefly leaves, rummage through Musume's make-up draw to find her treasured nailpolish- Musume would sell anyone for this, according to her it's 'a priceless nail polish'.

She returned to the bathroom door and stood there, feet firmly planted, waiting for the inevitable, "Look what I've got Musume, do you want to see if your nail polish with crack or survive? I wonder if it will break if I drop it over the railings?" Y/n threatened, her tone never wavering once, she was deathly serious and if the death of a nail polish is what it took then so be it.

Click.

Musume swaggered through the door, her face caked in makeup, her eyes glittered with a combination of arrogance and contempt. "Ugh, I'm finished anyways," she scoffed, her tone dripping with disdain, as she swung the door open and hit Y/n in the process. "Maybe if you actually spent time putting on make-up and actually trying to look good you might have had a chance to join your big SISTA in her friend group. Since you have no friends," she added, her final statement like a dagger to the heart as she snatched her nail polish back.

"I mean...What are you wearing? Where you blindfolded when you chose what to wear today?" Musume chortled, wiping her tears as she laughed as to not ruin her make-up. She leaned over holding her stomach as she laughed, not even trying to hide it as she eventually stood up straight and her laughter died down till she glanced at Y/n again, "If this is how you leave the house, looking like that it's a good thing I don't speak to you at school."

"It's the school's uniform? You're wearing the same thing." Y/n replied, in a confused tone as she instantly went to look down at her uniform to see what the big joke was that she was somehow missing.

"At least I can make this uniform work, you look as dry as Horuda's dry lip. You have no accessories or anything. Are you trying to embarrass me?" Musume questions, stepping forward like a hyena circling it's prey, ready to rip it apart piece by piece.

"I'm more interested in being myself, I shouldn't have to be actively impressing people everytime I go out. What if I feel comfortable like this?" Y/n rebukes, folding her arms as she narrows her eyes at Musume's taunting demeanor. She was all too aware of the brutal truth behind Musume's words, maybe she should try harder.

"Words of advice, you SHOULD be trying to impress people! This is exactly why you don't have any friends. You need to start dressing like a normal person and ditch the lazy look." She scoffed, "The way I dress shows that I'm not poor like Kokona- unlike her my daddy can afford to buy what life offers for me." Musume flicked her hair as she had a hand on her hip, smugness and arrogance radiating of her like an infectious disease. She turned about to walk away, leaving Y/n standing there, hurt and furious.

"Oh, you're so funny, Musume." Y/n rolled her eyes, but the sting of her sister's words still hurt. "I don't need a bunch of shallow, fake friends to be happy. I'm perfectly content with who I am, makeup or no makeup. I'm happy with my two friends, I'd rather two friends than four fake ones." She couldn't help but feel like Musume was projecting her own insecurities onto her. While Y/n may not have had as many friends as her older sister, she knew that the friends she did have were genuine and cared about her for who she was, not what she looked like.

"Whatever. Go ahead and be a social outcast then. Don't say I didn't warn you." Musume grinned, as she taps away on her phone to head downstairs.

Y/n was used to Musume's constant jabs at her appearance and overall lack of popularity, but for some reason, that particular jibe stung the most. It was like Musume had somehow managed to touch a deep-seated insecurity that Y/n didn't even know was there, and it hurt like an open wound. She shook her head, trying to shake off the pain, but it lingered like a dark cloud over her mood for the rest of the morning.

The weight of her sister's words bore down on Y/n's shoulders, like a heavy burden she had carried for years. It seemed that Musume had a gift for saying the exact wrong thing at exactly the wrong time, leaving a much younger Y/n feeling inferior and insecure. The queen of making people hate themselves, Musume had once reduced her to tears after making a particularly cruel comment about Y/n's appearance, leading the young girl to grab a pair of scissors in an attempt to cut off her hair. She supposed it has effected her to this day, a people pleaser as Musume calls her, desperate to avoid the harsh criticism yet Musume seemed so willing to dole out.

Y/n decided to momentarily ignore her sister and went to piss before retrieving a box from her room that she'd need for later.

Y/n's steps echoed faintly across the empty living room as she made her way downstairs. Her attention was drawn to the familiar glare of her sister's phone screen, a beacon signaling yet another social media drama brewing. With a deep inhale, she gathered her resolve, hoping to skirt past her sister and slip away unnoticed. No such luck - her sister was a master in the art of manipulation and would sense her presence somehow.

And sense her she did - the laugh that escaped her sister's lips was cruel, a sharp stab of derision aimed at someone else's expense. She stared at Y/n for a moment before going back to typing away, Musume had wavy blonde hair that's tied up in a messy half-ponytail, a light pink streak on the right side of her fringe, and a sparkly light blue butterfly hair clip. She always wore light blue earrings. Musume also has pale blue eyes and eyeshadow baby pink lipstick and blush with loose white socks on.

She always wore the same look so Y/n didn't understand why it took her hours in the bathroom. At this point, her dad needs to make a bathroom just for her, which he would (of course).

The pair began to exit their house and begin walking to school ; Musume smirked at her phone, typing away carelessly and ignoring the direction she was heading in. She was transfixed by her screen as if she was on a drug -that she couldn't live or breath without.

The only reason she's alive and breathing is because of Y/n, otherwise she would have gone bye bye ages ago since she never looks where she's going and no one in her friend group does either.

Musume looked up from her screen for once and smiled sweetly... That's not good, Y/n thought. She wants something, "Ugh, like ohhhhh my GAWD, have you seen Horuda Puresu, at school? She's so creepy!" Musume began, her screen holding a picture of Horuda that had been vandalized with horrendously outrageous insults, "She's even worse than those Occult Club freaks. Whenever she isn't in class she runs of to her little hide out. If you snap a pic for me I'll stop telling people I'm an only child and that your ACTUALLY related to me." Musume wrapped her arm around her shoulder, reeling her in closer.

"No Muse, I'm not doing your dirty work anymore, we aren't in middle school I'm not as naïve. Plus, I'd rather people not knowing I'm related to you." Y/n claps back, using her nails to clasp onto Musume's short sleeved shirt to lift her arm off her shoulder.

Musume shot me back a harsh glare in return.

"Ooooh, look who we have here little miss goody-two-shoes over here. Bet you think your better than me just because you don't like drama? What-EVERRRRR. AND for the record you should actually put your detectivey stuff to good use." she spat harshly, but luckily they arrived at the school's gate, "Have fun those nobody's you call friends." She laughed, with a potent sarcasm dripping off each syllable that left her mouth.

"Kokona and Saki are the best along and people around school, like Budo." Y/n scoffed, then narrowed her eyes at her sister and Musume almost immediately returned the favour. Y/n is just thankful she isn't so cold hearted, cruel and someone who feeds of the suffering of others. Musume definitely learned that from dear old daddy, who is a loan shark that sucks his victims dry of every last dime they have.

Y/n clearly isn't the favorite daughter, she's known that all her life.

She wasn't pampered, she just faded into the background and was never taught to throw money at her problems or act like everyone he below her like Musume.

"I said friends not NOBODIES, the only somewhat popular person you know is Budo and that's about it, might as well be a loner like that creepo at school then be friends with that skank kokona." She spat, with the usual venom in her tone, as she shoved past Y/n making her stumble slightly to the right but not falling completely. She sighed, it seemed she'd be having a date with her pen and diary again.

She was already making a mental note of what she'd write in her diary.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ Dear Diary,

Yes, that Barbie doll witch, who I'm unfortunately related to just had to be my sister. The swan in comparison to me the ugly duckling, she always makes me life an absolute nightmare. My diary is the only thing I can truly confide in whenever I wish to complain about her.

I just want a fresh start, I hope things don't get any worse. - From Y/n L/n :) (First day back) _ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _ __ _ _

With her feelings out on a mental piece of paper, she felt lighter, like she was ready to take on the world but first she was going to take on Kokona.

Y/n decided to sneak attack Kokona, it's what she's always does and she loves the reaction it gets out of her.

kokona always had her hair styled into purple twin-drills with right-swept bangs and rounded locks that frame her face and as she is a member of the drama club she also a rose in her hair, along with purple stockings.

"KYA!" Kokona shrieked, she turned round with a light blush covering her face "Y/n you scared me! I'm glad your here now. Look there's Saki!" Kokona smiles, and she drags Y/n along past the schools different cliches such as: drama club, occult, bullies (her sisters group), delinquents, school council, cooking club and so on.

The two arrive at their lockers and see Saki, she is a social butterfly just like Kokona and she has light cyan eyes and cyan twin-tails. Since she is a member of the Cooking Club, she wears a purple kerchief and a matching purple apron patterned with tiny pink hearts. "We should watch this movie, it's called 'Cash Clubber'!" Saki declared as she shoved her phone into Y/n's face unintentionally making it crash into her nose. Y/n rubbed her now sore nose as she recalled seeing the movie already.

Basically, the daughter of a rich business man exploits others and his daughter is kidnapped.

The twist is revealed at the end -that the person who kidnapped the daughter has a personal vendetta. They had a family member suffering because of the business man and the daughter is killed at the end as a result. The daughter wasn't the greatest person as she often flaunted her father's money, which must of made her an easier target.

She could see something similar happening to Musume if she isn't careful, "Yeah, I'm sure it would be a great movie to watch." Y/n speaks, still rubbing her injured nose, which Saki profusely apologized for.

The trio greet each other and swap there shoes with the ones situated in their lockers, along with the rest of the students as well. Y/n notices her sister's group passing Kokona causing her to grip onto her shoe's that she's just taken out of her locker. Y/n placed her hands on her shoulders, which knocked Kokona out of her trance, her shoulder sunk and her eyes left her shoes and she looked into Y/n's e/c (eye colour) eyes.

"I just hate her so, so much... I know it's not your fault Y/n but Musume makes my blood boil so much." Kokona sighed, sparing Y/n a glance before looking down at her shoes, "I feel almost guilty saying this, since I know she's your sister.... I've never felt such a burning hatred for someone, I wish she was dead."

"Trust me you're not the only one that thinks that. I'm sorry about her. Kokona if she comes up to you again you know me and Saki will beat her up, okay?" Y/n smiles, and Kokona's eyes widen looking back to Saki then her, "You're both so kind to me... I'm glad I have you both as friends. Friends no matter what, right?" They all give eachother a big hug as if to seal the deal but Kokona pulls away first.

Kokona attempts to smile but it drops and just by looking at her, Y/n can tell she wants to say something about the rumours that have been spreading lately. (Y/n knows Kokona can't keep a secret for long the pressure just kills her).

"You haven't been acting like your usual self lately. Is something bothering you?" Saki asks genuinely confused but worried at the same time. Saki is lucky enough to not have a blabber mouth sister like Musume , who jumps up like a dog whenever she hears drama. She probably hasn't heard the rumours surrounding Kokona but it's not Y/n's place to say it, it's kokona's.

"I'll talk to you about it later Saki... Just not right now too many people are here." Kokona whispered, rubbing her arm up and down anxiously, an awkward silence fills the air between the trio. Everything seemed to go quiet till the boisterous cacophony off students talking, lockers being slammed shut and the thuds of shoes connecting to the floor interrupted the silence.

"Alright Kokona, that's fine...but remember...I'm your friend, and I'd never judge you for anything. I'll always listen, okay?" Saki replies, Saki then looks at Y/n, "Y/n, didn't you say you need to go to the teachers lounge to use the printer for some secret club thing you were doing?" Saki covers her mouth with her hand, realizing that she just exposed the secret club thingy Y/n is doing, she mouths a sorry too afraid to even speak.

"Oh, yeah, thanks Saki. I'll head there now, plus I told Kokona about it already, I'll see you two before class." Y/n waved to them, she had already swapped her shoes and she had a pep in her step this morning, she heard the faint voice of Saki, still close enough to her most of what she said, "I didn't know she told you already! She didn't technically tell me to keep it a secret but I thought I did something-"

"Kanokogi San, could I please use the printer? The one in the library is broken, I'll be quick." Y/n asked calmly, scanning the teacher's expression, she was famously know for being a strict skank in her sister's words and overall unpleasant to be around, though most faculty members were strict and a bit sadistic in their own way.

"Well chop chop, make it quick. Lessons will be starting up soon and being late for lesson is not acceptable for a prestigious school like Akademi." Her teacher stated, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose as she tapped away busily at the computer.

The school could barely be considered as 'prestigious', especially after the disappearance that happened here with some students going missing. It's a suprise this place is even up and running, even though it barely is.

I remembered Musume telling me about what happened, not because it was 'sisterly bonding' but it was to scare me out of my mind from even wanting to come here. She didn't want us to be at the same school, as I'm an 'embarassment' to her.

However, it went like this six girls mysteriously vanished without a trance and an investigator accused a girl, called... Her name isn't important but she was labelled as some girl that killed in the name of love. Ultimately, she was proven innocent.

Once she had placed what she needed in her box and had exited the staff room, she did a quick look out for student council before she whipped her phone out of her pocket to see the time. Her eyeballs almost jumped out her eye sockets and the next thing she knew she was running then walking when she saw the student council and it was going so well till-

Her shoulder collided into some random boy.

Her mouth opened to say sorry to the now knocked down boy, but his eyes landed on another girl Taeko Yamada.

Of course, he noticed her, who wouldn't? With her light skin, light charcoal eyes, and long straight hair raven coloured hair the way she'd read at the fountain oblivious to the boys over the moon for her. She was perfect in every way shape or form, the overlapping mix of beauty and brains -everything Y/n wished she was and everything Taeko was.

Y/n rolled her eyes, this was a common occurrence everyone fell in love with Taeko.

Taeko was even blind to the fact her own best friend loved her.

Obsidian eyes and ink-coloured eyes met and their intense eye contact felt like an eternity, as if time itself had frozen in that moment.

He was practically dumbstruck.

Cupid's arrow had hit its mark, with it embedded into his very soul, rewiring his entire mind to be hypnotized by her. He felt as if he were under a spell. As he took her hand to stand up, he felt his face turn cherry red, his heart racing, his mind consumed by her. He stumbled over his words, trying to express the depths of his newfound feelings, the strength of his infatuation.

It was love at first sight, of that he was certainly sure, and he would do anything to maintain this exhilarating connection.

Y/n didn't know if it was her fault that he got knocked over.

Though, as far as she was concerned Taeko had gained another love-sick puppy willing to kiss the floor she stood on, if it meant they had a chance to be with her.

She knew that look too well, the way he was gazing at her and how his hand hovered in the air when hers had left his, practically confirmed her theory.

He was in love.

She didn't know the hype around Taeko, if she was being honest and not being held at gunpoint by one of her fanboys, she looked like a generic high school girl.

Maybe it was her smarts that people liked.

Maybe she was a bit jealous or staring at the pair a little too much.

But just like most of the people in the school she decided to brush the two out of her mind and leave them to bleed into the ocean of students names and faces she'd never remember, till she forgot about them completely.

She gave the raven haired boy with ink eyes one last glance before merging with crowd to head up to class.

"Blah blah, bla bla blah." Her teacher miss Fukahori went on and on, she hasblack hair put in a bun with two hair-chopsticks poking out of it. Her eyes are light blue and she wears black oval glasses. She wears a white top with a black blazer. Y/n didn't hear a single word of the nonsense her teacher was spouting.

The only think she was paying attention to was the ticks of the clock slowly approaching lunchtime, she tapped her nail in time with the ticks. She felt sweat racing down her forehead as the short hand was finally reaching it's goal. Come on, come on, almost there...

Ding ding ding ding.

Yes! Thank you! She's free!

The screech of chairs against the wooden floorboards where the sound of not just her but her classmates taking their chance to escape while they can, "Class 1-2! The bell doesn't dismiss you I do. Sit down, now!" Her teacher yelled, making everyone freeze in their tracks except some red head (Ryuto Ippongo) that tried bolting for the door, "Get back right now! It won't kill you to wait another minute since that phone you're always on has a better chance of doing so."

It would definitely kill her if she stayed another second in this room.

The student council member that was in her class, dashed after Ryuto and the class sits back down everyone collectively sighing.

"During the next 10 weeks we will be doing a partner project where you both have to make a-" The teacher is interupted by the quiet cheers of classmates looking over to their friend knowing exactly who they are planning on partnering up with, "I know that look and no you will not be picking. I have already assigned pairs and that's final." She starts, pushing her glasses up the bridge off her nose, choosing to ignore the groans and the eye rolls.

"I will now read out a list and you better learn to deal with it. In the workspace you have to tough it out and deal with whoever you have to work with. I don't care if you had a falling out, some silly argument or your not friends anymore." She says, Y/n hates this school.

"Didn't you say you hate being near miss Hanabusa, miss Fukahori? And that she's some scattered brained-" Umeji is cut off by miss Fukahori shouting at him. "Get out! You delinquent!" She yelled, pointing towards the door and Y/n was desperately trying to hold in a laugh and a poor unfortunate soul let a laugh escape their lips and soon they were sent out as well.

"Alright miss, tell your ex husband I said hi-" Umeji says, before she screams at him again.

"OUT!" It's like some random ghost possessed her when she let out that yell, once the two students are gone and Ryuto has been returned to class she lets out a deep breath and continues with her rant, "And lastly, Miss Ronshaku with Mr Najimi."

That window looks quite nice to jump out off right about now.

"Ugh, lame! I don't wanna be with her." Osano groans and his friend nudges him saying something along the lines of Osano that's rude.

The feeling is mutual she doesn't want to be partnered with him anyways, everyone knows who he actually wants to be paired with, Taeko Yamada also the girl that peculiar boy was gawking at. "I wanted to be paired with Taeko, then we could get even closer!" Osano whispers, to Raibaru.

"Aren't you both already close since your her childhood friend? Don't you already have a higher chance in her accepting your confession?" Raibaru questions, Osano pulls her in covering her mouth. "Shh! Raibaru, not so loud!" Osano yell-whispers, whatever his efforts were they failed because everyone already heard their conversation, expect the person it was intended for Taeko.

"Now, the class is dismissed."

The school day promptly ended after that and Y/n and her friends where at Odayaka bakery, "No way, you got paired with Osano!" Kokona giggles, sipping on her hot chocolate and Saki just has to join in this laugh at Y/n conversation. "I feel so bad for you...Not really, but good luck with him." Saki adds, munching on a croissant.

Y/n hopes she chokes on that croissant and it seems Saki read her mind.

"Don't give me those death stares, give them to Osano." Saki laughs, and Kokona joins in while Y/n sighs, rolling her eyes at their antics.

O
