Y/n finds her self lying on Ayato's bed, since she sees him laying on the floor below. On a futon, with his limbs outstretched like some starfish, with a bit of drool trailing down his mouth. It was times like this, where she couldn't believe he was a killer, she thinks murder is such an inhumane thing to do.

To take another life.

Yet, right now looked like an average person, trying to get through school and a person that was her friend. It hurts her heart so much that he is the one who's taken everything from her. The person she laughed with, smiled with and the guy who always comforted her, even when she pushed him away.

She was desperate, to have someone to trust, after hearing on the news that Kokona had killed her own sister.

She knows it him, the infamous Akademi killer and how he's forcing Horuda to be his 'henchwoman'.

He was there for her throughout all off their deaths and she made herself slip into those lies, mistaking it for comfort. When he'd pull her into hugs and telling her such heartfelt words, really he was just tightening the puppet strings attached to her. Maybe, he was too good to be true, too perfect and kind to be anything else but a killer, masking himself as some kind off angel.

But, no one is perfect.

She definitely isn't perfect, she's naïve, she resorts to violence easily and maybe she is incapable to be a detective like her own dad said. She can be easily convinced when someone is kind to her, she guesses it's because of her childhood, were she experienced rarely experienced kindness.

She must be so starved off someone actually caring about her that it made it so much easier for her to sink deeper into whatever lies Ayato told her. She always had that voice in the back of her mind warning her, Kokona warned her as well and she didn't take it as seriously as she should off.

The worst thing is, he's still got her by the leash dragging her like she's a dog when she knows, who he really is under that mask.

She bets that he must be having a great sleep, unlike Y/n, she woke up multiple times in the night and she found it incredibly difficult to fall back to sleep. Yua was napping on his stomach, sleeping just as peacefully as he was.

Y/n quietly swung her legs over the bed and carefully stepped over Ayato's sleeping frame, heading towards the door and it creaked ever so slightly. Ayato didn't wake up thankfully and she quietly descended the stairs, she's only in this house for Yua, otherwise she'd ignore him completely since she's positive he's the killer.

Though, at the same time, she's also sure that she can't get rid of him, since he pops up randomly out of nowhere and forces her to hangout. Sometimes, it's nice that she can talk to someone but she has to remember all the people who have died. Plus, Budo is simply better company.

She's going to have to wait until the trial to get rid of him, completely.

Maybe, she should tell Taeko that she thinks Ayato is a killer since she's going to be stuck with him today. Oh, sh-. Where is her phone? Did she leave it upstairs? Yua has now made her prescense know and Y/n looks down to see Yua going in-between her legs while meowing loudly up at her. When did Yua even get here? Ayato definitely wouldn't want to admit it but him and Yua were similar in some ways, the way they could both appear behind her without her hearing their footsteps.

She rushed into the kitchen, to find a bag of cat food and Yua's extremely ugly and cheap cat bowl Ayato unfortunately picked for her. She filled it with a decent amount of food and Yua chewed away at the food, Y/n reached his door and grabbed the door handle.

Finally, she's free.

She better get out of here before he appears behind h- "Morning, Y/n." Ayato had a hand on her shoulder and she felt all the blood drain from her face, this totally doesn't look suspicious at all, "Morning..." She replies, letting go off the handle.

"Where you looking at this picture of my mother and father?" He wraps an arm around her shoulder, making her face the framed picture, positioned on a small table near the door. She clearly wasn't looking at it but the way he was looking at her made her immediately agree with him.

"Yeah, they look so cute together. But, Ayato I really need to get going back to Taeko." Y/n says, hoping he'd understand and stop dragging this out. "What's the rush? Stay for breakfast." Ayato responds, guiding her to the kitchen, she ends up giving in and nodding, sitting at the table.

This is what she's talking about, she needs to stop giving in and give him a punch instead.

Ayato places her phone on the table as he walks past and Y/n gives him the hardest glare ever. She scoffed and started messaging Taeko.

Y/n Taeko I need to tell you something

Taeko x books Y/n, where have you been???

Y/n At Ayato's but anyways since I won't be coming in today you need to know something about him

Y/n looks around checking he isn't standing right behind her, instead he's pouring a delicious mixture into a waffle maker while wearing a dressing gown, along with some slippers that are conveniently her f/c.

Y/n I think he's a killer

Taeko x books Y/n? Are you serious right now?

He would never do something like that Y/n!

Y/n He definitely would I'm just warning you

Taeko x books Your absolutely delusional, Y/n. He's our friend!

Y/n isn't listening to someone who punctuates their text messages, she sees Ayato place a freshly made waffle onto a plate. The smell drifts around the room and her stomach grumbles in pain, yearning for it. Much to her dismay, she has to put her hunger aside and deal with her first objective, getting out of the house.

Time to make a distraction, she gets up and the chair makes a scrape against wooden floorboards, she looks at him and he hasn't moved an inch.

She noticed the bag of cat treats, perfect.

Plop.

The bags contents spill onto the floor and Yua lungs at the food, Ayato's turns around and he almost trips over Yua. The bits of cat food are scattered across the wooden floorboards. Ayato is busy picking up Yua, who is relentlessly scratching at any visible skin on him. Y/n dashes around the other side of the table, opposite to Ayato and grabs the only waffle on the plate before heading to the door. It painfully burns her hand but she knows her stomach growling at her is worse.

She shoves the waffle into her mouth, which burned the surface of her tongue, she winces in pain but it's muffled since her mouth is stuffed.

Y/n twists the key that was already placed inside the key hole and slammed the door behind her, she's hit instantly with a cold morning breeze.

She painfully chews the burning hot waffle as she spots her bike, on the pavement in front of his house and pulls it upright, throwing her leg over it so she's positioned to start cycling off.

Tch.

Tch.

Y/n... I know exactly what you've done, making a distraction to get out.

He's thinking about the opportunity he had to kidnap her, he would off when he drugged her but there is too much light on her. She's currently in the spotlight and if the person who everyone thinks is the killer disappeared things would become difficult, everyone would be on edge.

He does not need that happening.

But, that hasn't discouraged him from cleaning his basement. He's been rearranging the furniture so she would be relatively comfortable. He stares at the chair that would soon hold Y/n, he could picture her struggling to break free and how she'd slowly realize all she needs is him.

During all this cleaning, he decided to listen to those basement tapes again, he wants to get an idea on how to make sure she doesn't ever escape. She knows what he's truly like and that could be dangerous... But, she has a fragile heart, he's sure she's known he was the killer for a long time yet she refused to believe he would ever do something so despicable.

His mother, implies that his grandmother did get a basement added to their home, that woman wasn't lying after all.

She kept her father in the basement, preventing him from leaving that chair till she was 100% sure he'd never leave.

All the things he and Y/n could do, their first kiss, first date, first anything he wants...

Just wait Y/n...

She pushes herself off and she used all the strength she had left to get over to Taeko's house.

"Taeko- Taeko- Wait." Y/n coughs out, stopping in front of Taeko's path, "He's- dangerous-. Please be careful." Y/n chokes out and Hanakō hears what Y/n said and agreed, "Mhm, he is! I saw him tell Y/n his cat was gone and he was smiling about it!" Taeko looks surprised, Hanakō and Y/n are both agreeing on something? Is this some kind off prank? They must be in some prank together. Maybe if she pretends to believe them, they'll stop.

"I'm sorry I didn't trust you Y/n...I'll look out for him." Taeko responds, Y/n takes a big breath in and gets off her bicycle, way to tired to continue cycling so she walks past the pair and heads inside the Yamada household. Taeko still isn't too sure about Y/n's words, after all she is taking pills for her mental health...

Taeko and her brother arrive to school and they are confronted with poster of Y/n covering up club posters on the walls, the lockers and doors, saying in bold 'A Killer In Our Midst.' Taeko approaches it, ripping it off the walls, there Y/n is with devil horns drawn on.

Taeko looks to her left to see Budo walking along the hallway ripping the posters off, she goes up to him and he smiles, "Good morning, Taeko!" He holds a pile of posters under his arm.

"Morning, Budo. These posters are just horrible, are they all around school?" Taeko asks, looking at the one in her hands. "Yes, they are, it's disheartening to know that classmates will do this one another. I was hoping to take them down before she arrived. Speaking off Y/n, do you know where she is?" Budo questions, scratching his head, his cheeks flush slightly.

"She got suspended because of an incident in the photography room, I'm sure she'll explain when she's back. I have to go, bye Budo." Taeko says, Budo nods and continues with what he was previously doing.

Ayato also arrives to school and it's difficult not to notice the scattered pictures off Y/n, he took one down when no one was looking. He brushed his finger against the picture, his stomach did another cartwheel inside of him.

The feeling, Y/n gave him made him want her even more...

His heart beat was racing so much, he looks closer and saw the devil horns on top. 'A KILLER IN OUR MIDST.'

How dare the photography club do this to his sweet Y/n, he knows their names, faces, what they like and dislike. He will rain down hell upon them, once he gets the chance too. His pure Y/n could never kill and the absolute nerve off them to point the blame towards her.

They don't deserve to breathe in her prescense, only he can truly worship her, claim her, smell her hair and be with her forever.

He folded up the poster of her and shoved it into his pocket. Taeko suddenly appeared behind him, she had a frown on her face and she picked at her nails nervously. It was quiet and it was a battle to see who would speak first. Taeko decided to forfeit, she spoke," I'm sorry if this is too much to ask but... Could you help me find my brother a friend?" Taeko asks, she rubs her arm and looks up at Ayato.

"Sure, I have nothing else to do." Ayato responds truthfully, Y/n isn't here today and Taeko might have the pencil she let Taeko borrow, in her pencil case. He loved using the toothbrush Y/n uses, it was inside of her mouth and has her saliva! He couldn't help himself, he rubbed the toothbrush all over his mouth, he was practically kissing her. He sucked, all the saliva that might have been left on her toothbrush, it invaded his mouth and he felt so warm inside...

Ayato and Taeko and set off to find a suitable candidate to be Hanakō's friend, they begin on the rooftop and Ayato spots his old childhood friend, Midori Gurinu.

Midori, a very curious girl, who's gained a reputation for constantly asking foolish questions, that gave herself the label of being an absolute irritant to her teachers and fellow classmates. She claims she is a video game character, who can see beyond the fourth wall of the game she's in, like Monika, in DDLC.

No one has ever heard of a doki Doki literature club, after that people started ignoring her so she has given up trying to convince people to believe her. As usual, she was found tapping away on her phone screen, she didn't even notice the two approaching her or tapping her on the shoulder, "Midori?" Taeko questions, clicking her finger in front of her face till Midori reluctantly raises her head.

"Hello, Taeko!" Midori replied, grinning and looking Taeko in the eyes intensely as she blinked. "Would you like to be my brother's fr-" Taeko gets cut off by another one of Taeko's stupid questions, "I wonder what's my role in this videogame? Or should I say story?" Midori buts in, looking up at the sky with her fingers rubbing her chin as she thinks.

"What?" Taeko says, confused by her absurdly strange question, "I wonder who the killer is...If the students know there is a serial killer on the loose, why would they keep coming to school?" Midori asks, no one in particular or someone they cannot see. Midori has an odd mind...

"Nevermind." Takeo sighs, she hears Midori as she and Ayato walk off saying, "...Aw...Oooookaaaaay..."

This process was repeated over and over again till Ayato lost track of how many people they have gone to, Taeko sighed sitting on a bench in front the sewing club, "This is hopeless..." Taeko sulks, sinking further down onto the wooden bench, Ayato doesn't say anything, he just looks through the windows to see Hazu Kashibuchi.

He doesn't socialize much, purely because of his fear, having negative social interactions.

Hanakō finally spots Taeko and she gets pulled into a strangling hug by her brother,"Hi, big sis-" Hanakō's words seem to die in his mouth, once his eyes land upon Ayato,"Why don't you check out the sewing club, Hanakō?" Ayato spoke, Hanakō's eyes widen in fear, he hugs Taeko tighter and she starts to choke.

Something about Ayato makes him nervous.

"S-sure." Hanakō stutters, he lets Taeko go and Taeko is surprised that he listened so quickly, they both watched as he pulled out a chair to sit next to Hazu. He has dark cedar brown hair, stopping below his chin. His long bangs sweep to the right, covering his eyes. Ayato notices Hanakō pointing to the visible freckles on Hazu's face.

He flushes in embarrassment and Hanakō picks up one of the plushies on a shelf, presumably asking about it.

Well that's settled, he walks off not sparing Taeko another glance.

He reaches an area behind the cherry blossom tree and Horuda is already there. His mind shifts to the thought of Kokoro, a bully and formerly known as Horuda's friend. Info chan in formed him off their history, in exchange for bugs to be planted around school, he noticed some places had already bugged.

Their history is quite, interesting.

Kokoro wanted to leave everything in the past and that included ditching Horuda, her best friend. Once she arrived at Akademi, she sought out the 'bullies', mainly Musume, to get her approval and acceptance. She was desperate, in getting on their good side and it was a need, to not be seen as an ally, and not another target.

She was lucky enough to have proved that she wasn't lesser than them and instead she could join them, changing how she looked completely. She had a large, lucious blonde ponytail with big bright pink bangs that curled down either sides of her face.

She was gifted a heart bow and two flower clips on top of her head, she has caramel eyes and always wore pink makeup. She tanned her skin, in order to match with all the other bullies. She has scrunchies in this specific order, colored light pink, purple, and light blue around both of her wrists. She has a bright pink jacket tied on her waist, along with dark magenta nails.

Kokoro knows what it feels like to be bullied, the feeling is so fresh in her mind and she has decided to leave Horuda in the dark. She justifies her actions constantly and she refuses to even look Horuda in the eyes.

She might not have a desire to hurt others, but she would if it meant she could survive in this school... If she can keep up this facade of being a bully, she could last longer than some people have in this school. She has become what she hates but she does it in order to protect herself.

She loathes herself deeply, but she would rather hate herself and shut others out instead of becoming a target again.

That day, when Musume told him to see what Horuda was hiding was when he saw her crying her eyes out. Kokoro had sold her out, to save her own skin and Horuda was suffering, getting hit with dusty erasers and having nasty words written on her desk.

It made Horuda change, a hole grew in heart, a strong hatred that could never be extinguished. That just made things easier for him, a girl with a growing hatred inside her heart getting influenced and controlled, she is quite easy to mold and she will follow his every word.

She is a troubled girl, already carrying so much inside, it was necessary for someone to help her release it all, "Look at how quickly she ditched you, to save herself. You need to put yourself first. Don't you think it's time you give her what she deserves?" Ayato asks, his eyes were as icy and cold as his facial expression, they were dull and dim. He handed her the box cutter, it felt strange in her hand.

Kokoro backstabbed her, he made sure to remind her off that. He promised to help push her in the right direction, to get rid off her problems in exchange for her to help get rid of his. She wouldn't disobey him, she knew what he was capable off, she saw what he was capable off.

But she didn't know what she was capable of either.

That day, Ayato had put on a pair of gloves on from the drama club, it was still open and running around this time. He wedged a box cutter in a box for her to take, she unlike him wasn't wearing gloves but she still removed the cutter from the box and ascended the stairs to the roof.

He told her, her number one problem would disappear today.

Kokoro foolishly went up to the roof top, after being given a note so she stared at the martial arts area below. It must off been one hell of a shock when she felt a burning sensation in her back. A blade cutting deep into her back, the pain was torturous and Horuda was terrified when Kokoro screamed in pain.

Blood seeped down her back and she turned to see Horuda, her old friend. She attempted to fight for her life, trying to grab the box cutter out her hand, "I-I don't deserve this! The note said you wanted to talk about...friends! You really are jealous! Aren't you? I got released from it all and you...Didn't!" Kokoro spat, Horuda fought back with all her strength, they both weren't particularly strong and Kokoro's wound was being pushed against the cold metal railings.

"You, left me!" Horuda finally speaks, she grabs Kokoro's shoulders now realizing it's either her or herself, "I don't want to die!" Kokoro sobs, noticing this isn't looking good for her at all, her feet where off the floor as she was pushed further, over the railings.

She cried pleading for her life but none of her words reached Horuda's ears.

Thud.

She lands in a pile of garbage below, she's sees Ayato who opened the bin just as Kokoro fell.

Horuda was sobbing, with snot dripping down her face and falling into her clothes, she reached the furnace area where Ayato was and her knees buckled, they landed to the floor with a thud.

Ayato kneels down in front of her, "Crying here on the floor won't fix what you've done." He stated blandly, placing a hand on her shoulder, she raised her head staring her into his eyes, "Everyone will know it was you, if you choose to do nothing, then you're sealing your fate. You have a motive, they bullied you, tormented you and said horrible things behind your back. She deserved it, she left you." Ayato whispered into her ear pulling Horuda close.

"All you have to do, is carry the body out and place it in the furnace. It will work, trust me." Ayato spoke softly, Horuda sniffled, whipping her tears. "You have no one else, it's just you and me. You won't make it alone, look at me Horuda." He commands, and Horuda stares into his eyes, he looks so calm and relaxed, he has his hand outstretched to her. The hairs on her neck stood up, she had never felt so weak and vulnerable in her life.

"Trust me Horuda, I can get you out of this but you will need to listen to my every word." Ayato offers, it seemed too good to be true, only someone who was desperate would take his hand.

Horuda had no choice but to take his hand.

Horuda has been following him ever since, listening to his every word, never questioning him and doing whatever he tells her.

She's just a mindless drone, a pawn on his huge chest board, where he was battling it out with Y/n. He wondered who she'd place to down to face him next.

"I've started seeing Saki around Y/n's house..." Horuda mumbled, staring down at the floor, Ayato knew she was being honest, after all he follows Y/n home after school, just to make sure no one is near what is his. "I got a picture, off the whole thing."

He already knows, he took a picture off Horuda taking one off Saki. Horuda is only alive and breathing because he needs someone to take the fall for him at court, in case things are turning south for him. The court case will happen in a week or so being prepared will benefit him.

He nods, dismissing her and she quickly scurries off.

If Saki is hanging around Y/n, there is a chance she might have seen him walking behind her too.

After school, he heads in the direction of Taeko's house, he's just making sure Y/n's okay. He heard footsteps that were definitely not his own, they sounded quick as if they were trying to catch up with him.

This is typically the spot where Y/n and Saki meet, since the school Saki is currently attending isn't too far from this one. He briefly paused and goes down to tie his shoelaces, making the person freeze. This gives him enough time to use the car mirror to have a glimpse of them.

He's noticed a the blue hair, almost immediately and that ugly uniform.

I know your there Saki.
