Y/n's eyes fluttered open and she found herself outside the school gates, the cherry trees rustled and the smell of freshly cut grass was in the air. It was quiet enough for her to hear the birds flying above her tweeting sweet songs, she began to walk. An she was shocked by how isolated the area was, so much so that she could even hear her own footsteps and she didn't have to battle with everyone else's to hear her own.
The school stood in front of her, bathing in the suns rays its, she truly was lucky to attend a school like this, she began to walk through, past the locker's and began to walk upstairs to her classroom door.
She slid it open and stepped back in horror.
Her stomach twisted and she felt sick to her core, her back leaned against the wall and she slid down the wall.
It was a bloodbath, she saw her teacher's head without the body ,that was supposed to be attached to it, with an expression of fear forever frozen on her face.
Her hand slammed into the wall as she desperately pushed herself up with her knees shaking as she shuffled, she saw more of her class and someone sliced in perfectly in half. There organs spilt out creating space between one half and the other, she couldn't bare to look anymore so she ran.
She ran to the bathroom ready to vomit her soul out till she stopped midway in the door. Musume...
Her vocal cords seemed to have been ripped straight out of her throat and she laid still on her side with blood gushing out of her throat, Y/n fell to her sister's side and placed her head gently in her arms.
Her tears dropped down her face onto Musume's, her eyes were wide open and her mouth was a gape, Y/n combed her hair gently through her bleached locks remembering her natural hair colour. When she wasn't as bad, and things were better.
Y/n's chest heaved in and out and it was getting do hard to breathe, her vision blurred as more tears arose out of her tear ducts and fell down her face.
She knew Musume wanted to scream, speak out and make herself heard and the person ,who did this took that very thing away, took her away. it seemed she was originally hit with a blunt object before, a knife had been used to rip out her vocal cords. She gently pulled her into a sitting position so she wasn't stuck laying on a cold hard floor.
She stumbled out the bathroom, making quick breathes since it felt she wasn't getting any to her lungs and went down the stairs once more, with the gross feeling off blood on her. She wanted to wash it off so bad. She wishes she didn't come downstairs, all she sees is red, a massacre of bodies snd blood scattered along the floor and ceiling.
She felt numb, and she looked at the faces of people she once glanced at and walked past daily, she stepped carefully over the corpse's and reached the locker's.
She's sure she saw the bodies of Kokona, Saki, Budo and Fruedddo, she hasn't seen Ayato, maybe he got away? She pressed on till she saw a shadowy figure, and her anger bubbled over.
"Why? Why!?" She shouts grabbing their neck between her two hands, shaking them to answer and acknowledge her like the countless people they killed and the people she loved and cared about.
They didn't answer, she couldn't tell who they were their whole body was obscured with darkness and she went to punch them only for them to catch her hand and pull her into their grasp. Darkness covered her vision.
She jolted awake and stared around her room.
She so glad that was a dream, and she laughed a bit under her breath and held her hand to her chest as she took a deep breath.
Her phone dinged and she looked at her phone.
Amao has been officially declared missing.
Her whole world has been turned upside down these past few days, it's now Thursday and 6:00 and she looks like a wreck, dark bags are under her eyes and even looking around her room irritates her eyes.
Things have taken a toll on Saki as well, after all the two were quite close, too close...
And Info Chan was right after all and someone kind of close to her has died and she can't help but have a feeling in her gut she could have solved this from day one if she took it more seriously.
She really needs to start putting the work in to find this person...
Brrr.
Brr.
Rrrr.
Ayato starts up the electric saw and begins cutting Amao up, separating his legs from his torso, arms from his torso and finally removing the head. He's sweating from all the work, he's put each appendage in a bin bags ,which he'd dispose of in an incinerator.
His phone is place on some random box in the corner of the room and his head is drawn away from the last bag he's tied. He gets up and walks towards his phone, staring at the notification he received from Y/n about Amao officially being declared missing.
During times like this, he'd probably find this funny knowing Amao wasn't missing, he was right here in his basement just lacking a few limbs and his life.
This was for...Taeko.
Yes, of course it was. An notification interrupted his monologue and his home screen flashed with a picture him and Y/n in the center with Saki and Kokona on the side, outside the arcade doing various poses such as a peace sign, an arm around Y/n done by Kokona and Saki hugging Kokona's side.
The only reason he didn't take the picture off his phone screen is because Y/n physically wouldn't let him, he can practically hear her say, 'If you EVER remove that home screen, you won't have a home to go back to.'
Y/n has always been around him, accompanied by Kokona and Saki, ever since he saw her at work and then they stared arranging all these places they could all go to. He knows Saki thinks they'd be a good pair she's hinted it to the two off them and his heart fluttered for some reason.
He has Taeko he doesn't need her.
He only hangs out with them because she has knowledge whether she wants to admit that or not, she can find information on almost anyone and she can help him study Taeko's habits.
But, he feels so different around Y/n, sometimes when they walk side by side, the way his heart gets fueled by the simple thing she does: smile, bump into his side because he's positive she physically can't walk straight, staring up at him, joking around and just being herself in general.
When their skin connects he feels a smile appear on his face, without him noticing till he relaxes his face or when he jokingly rolls his eyes at her antics. Also, when they take pictures or their around others, he has to be close to her or put an arm around her, which she laughs at and does back, well tries to due to height difference.
Or when he stole the piece of gum she was chewing...
His feelings are all over the place, she was doing this to him their was something about her that made him think about her, want to protect her while she made him an absolute mess inside. Yet, it's so addicting and he feels lost when he's with her... This isn't right... What's wrong with him?
He stood, outside her house that she hasn't once given him the address to and he knocks on her door till it swings open.
"Y/N YOUR FRIEND OR WHATEVER IS HEREE." Musume shouts as soon as she lays eyes on him, and slams the door again, he can hear feet thudding down the steps till the door reopens.
"Ayato? I haven't given you my address what the hell are you doing at my doorstep?" Y/n questions, surprisingly in her uniform already, at this time in the morning, and she steps out the door with her arms folded. Looking him up and down waiting for him to explain.
"Saki gave it to me." He answers quickly, and she nods seemingly convinced.
"Alright, what do you want." She answers in a straightforward tone, narrowing her eyes at him, she seems suspicious off him.
"I need you to help me tomorrow with Taeko." Ayato spoke, to help convince her more he takes her f/f (favorite food) out off his pocket and hands it over to her.
"Sure, okay, what do you want me to do?" Y/n asks, she was always ready to help people and it was an admirable quality she had, "You didn't need to give me f/f to convince me, I would off helped you anyways but this is just a bonus."
"I need you to be her friend. See what she likes, dislikes and then introduce me to her." Ayato response calmly awaiting her reply.
"Okay then, well I guess I can do that since I'm being ghosted right now by Kokona and Saki but it's understandable I've got a lot on my mind and I'd rather be by myself then accidentally lash out on them." She said, in an honest tone, Musume emerged out of the door and the three of them walked to school.
Musume bickered on about how Amao ran away and how he gave everyone food poising and his parents bakery went to a bust and he couldn't handle the pressure. Ayato simply nodded at what she said, it seemed something was on his mind as well after her hand brushed against his and he immediately withdrew from her touch.
Is her hand sweaty or something?
She doesn't know why he acted like that, maybe he doesn't like people touching him? So, she decided to shuffle closer to Musume to give him some space ,which made Musume laugh at her and the tension that randomly grew between them.
The rest of the day was quiet and an assembly was made about Amao's disappearance and she decided to burry herself in her suspect list. Crossing a huge amount of people of who were sick or absent or simply couldn't have done it in the time frame, using her website as well to get into the school's system.
When she was walking around school to get some information from the martial arts club she saw Musume, smoking. "Musume! What the hell are you doing!" Y/n shouts, slapping the cigarettes out her hand and stomping on it, she receives a harsh push from Musume making her land onto her bum. "What the fuck is wrong with you!? I paid good money for that ciggy, you bitch!" Musume pushes, Y/n again even though she's already knocked her down.
"Cigarettes and drinking killed our mom! Stop thinking you're above everyone, you're not above death and cigarettes can seriously damage your internal organs!" Y/n replied, furious to even have witnessed Musume doing such a think, Musume slaps her in the face once Y/n stands up again. It's taking everything inside Y/n to not fight back, she's trying to be the more mature sibling even though everyone treats her horribly, her own father, sister, students and the teachers as well!
"Amao's grandmother told me about our mother's bad habit, the same thing could happen to you Musume. I'm just looking out for you." Y/n tries to reason with Musume but trying to is like taking to a wall, Musume is too far gone to ever change. "Oh really, Y/n? Daddy said you're the reason she's dead, if you were never born she'd be here!" Musume yelled, her box off cigarettes dropping onto the floor.
"Why are you even here? Why were you born?" Musume questions, her voice merged with her father's and Y/n remembers when her own father told her that. "Why are you even here?" Her father prods her, how was she supposed to know? She was nothing but a child at the time, never understanding why her existence bothered her father so much to the point he hated the sight off her. He blew smoke right into her face, her eyes burn and watered yet she endured through it all, "Why were you born?" He laughs, tossing his ciggy at her face, it burnt and she held her face in pain while he found it amusing.
"Why don't you do me and my princess here a favour for once and piss off?" Her dad, commands, pulling a younger Musume closer to his side, she finds this humourous as well, watching their interactions like this is some kind off show. "Yeah Y/n, go run off to your prince charming Amao." She giggles, Y/n has her fist clenched but she releases her grip so much anger bottle inside one small child. "It should have been you that died that day." Her father spat, pushing her out the way off the television and he laughs at the show in front of him and Musume chuckles as well.
Why did her own sister have to jump onto the hate Y/n train with him?
She stood right in front of the television again, why won't they just listen to her? She opens her mouth to speak only for her father to grab the nape of her neck, silencing her.
"Now, you're annoying me." He snarled, forcefully holding her and pushing her up the staircase, making her trip over her own feet and scrap it against the stairs. He didn't stop even with her crying, screaming, kicking, biting and scratching would stop him from shoving her in her room and slamming it. He first slammed it on her fingers, since she was young and thought that would stop him but no. Then, finally, she was locked inside her room.
She threw the picture off her mother so far, it hit the wall leaving a dent and the glass covering the picture shattered into pieces just like her heart. She collapsed to the floor a d she cried for nothing, holding her fingers in pain, while curled up in a ball.
Yeah, she's had enough.
Musume topples backwards, holding onto her bleeding nose, which alerts a white haired student council member. Just before Y/n could deliver a well deserved kick to her face, she was stopped. "Om nom nom." Shiromi said, she shook her head tapping Y/n's shoulder, signalling for her to follow her to the guidance counselor. Well, since Y/n's already in trouble she kicks Musume in the face anyways and gets tackled to the floor, these plastic cuff things are put on her wrist. Shiromi takes her to the student counselor.
Ayato saw the whole thing, he's never seen Y/n look that mad. Something must be happening at home potentially involving that crook of a father and Musume. It reminds Ayato off when he was younger and his father was dealing with a smoking addiction. He'd see his father smoking a lot, outside the hospital, sometimes when he came home from school and when he went outside to smoke after an argument with his mother. He remembers walking past his parents room, hearing crying.
Ayato entered the room and his father had his arms out wide, pulling him into a hug. This time he wasn't drunk he was sober and he whispered promises off escaping this hell hole. He even tried packing his bags one day, early in the morning while getting my suitcase out and shoving anything he could find inside Ayato's closet, "Let's play a game, okay?" Jokichi, his father whispered, "Let's play hide and seek... Mommy is it, so we have to hide from her, okay?" A younger Ayato nods, taking his father's hand and quietly exiting the house, starting up the car and rushing over to the nearest airport.
The frantic look off panic on his father's face was etched into Ayato's mind, sweat beaded down his face and the sky was still quite dark as it was around 1 in the morning. He also saw the plane tickets in his pocket, "How long are we going to hide from mommy?" He asked, in a empty tone, he was a child not understanding what was going. "Um, hold on Ayato. I'm trying to keep my eyes on the road- I'll tell you when you're older okay?" Jokichi answer quickly, his hands where sweaty, Ayato could tell by the hand print her left when he let go off the steering wheel.
They rushed into the airport, luggage in hand and his father looked left to right constantly while keeping Ayato in sight, "Your so brave, Ayato. Me and you are going to win this game off hide and seek, right? And, we are going on a fun little trip for a while, okay?" Jokichi says, kneeling down and hugging his son, he pulls away and looks into his child's eyes. "I don't think we are gonna win hide and seek." Ayato replies in the monotone voice he's always had.
"Why do you think that?" Jokichi asks, eyebrow raised.
"Mommy is right behind you."
"How romantic, darling! A surprise trip for the family, how thoughtful! You forgot your passport, you must of been in a rush..." Ryoba trails off, hugging her husband from behind with a smile going ear to ear, "Well, enough dallying, we have a plane to catch." She picks up her son, with her purple suitcase in hand, she always wears purple since it's his father's favorite colour. She leans forward to whisper something in Jokichi's ear, he didn't hear what she said but his skin was as white as a ghost.
"Sorry, dear... I hope you enjoy this surprise vacation." Jokichi mumbles, Ryoba smiles making him carry the rest of the luggage to the plane.
He supposes, Y/n and him have more connections than he originally thought.
After a stern talking to and a suspension for the rest off the school day she heads home. The day went by slowly, and she hid under her blankets like a child, wishing all of this stuff would go away.
