Lisha had a reputation of being a playgirl. She could easily get any guy chasing her around and then dump them off when bored.
But this time, it was different.
Because she had never been so invested on a guy.
He had a mysterious aura around him which only made him more curious.
As she practices the song for her upcoming performance with the recent song she had written.
It was a song about a girl who was obsessed with a boy.
Lisha smiles as she recalls back to the time when she kissed him on the terrace.
His expression, full of adoration and longing...
"Are you thinking about me too right now?"
She practiced her vocals, while playing the guitar...
Just then the door opens.
And her Step-dad waks in.
"You are doing this bullshit again? Why do I send you to school? To study or play your stupid guitar?"
"I have a concert this week, stop disturbing me" She glares at him.
"Disturb you? Oh I'm the one disturbing you now huh? This selfish child- Did you forget who feeds you?"
"I never asked you to?"
"What's with that attitude huh?"
"Can you leave? I have got stuff to do"
"This brat! How dare you ask me to leave!? When this is my house!!" He raised his hand and lands a tight slap on her face.
The slap was loud, it even hurt his hand.
But Lisha was not the one to stay still.
She slapped him back so hard that he fell on the ground.
"Ahhh!!!"
"Get out of my room." She warned him.
Her dad gets nervous, but hides his expression and stands up.
"You ungrateful brat, you dare to do this to your father!?"
Then he rushed outside and locked her in the room.
"No dinner for you bitch! Hope you rot inside that room!"
Lisha who was already used to everything just rolled her eyes.
Growing up, she had faced enough violence from them.
But she wasn't someone who would sit back and take it.
She was tough and strong-willed.
The main reason was the words of a certain someone from her childhood that she remembers to this date.
"Keep your head up, young lady. No matter, how harsh the storms, you must stand tall" The man had said to the crying Lisha, while patting down on her head with his tattoed hand.
Lisha recalls back those words and bites her lips.
She sighs and continues to practice her song.
That night she slept hungry.
Next morning, her step-mother opened the door.
"Go to school and come back right after"
Lisha didn't reply.
"She didn't even offer me breakfast" She muttered under her breath.
After getting ready for school, Lisha gets out of her room and walks downstairs ignoring her parents.
"That insolent bitch-" her dad was trying to create a scene again.
"Leave it. She has an exam today" Her mom stops him.
"You are too light on that girl, Miley. Soon she will get out of hands-"
"But we can't possibly control every little detail. It might be worse for us if she stops going to school and her teachers come to check on her." she says.
Lisha hears everything and just wears her shoes to leave.
On her way, she is greeted by Ray.
"Preparation done for the exam?" Ray asks.
"Nope, I didn't even study a single line. Make sure to pass your paper ahead" Lisha winks.
"Not again" Ray sighed.
"C'mon don't be like that" Lisha puts her arms around his shoulder and laughs.
"I heard that they will be announcing the results by today itself" he says.
"Wait what- that's so soon"
"Because its a short test. But the questions will be difficult."
"Oh damn...but I know you will save us" She jokes.
"Yeah yeah"
Although Ray was a dilligent and good kid, he was still there to back his friends up.
Hence, as expected, he had passed his paper after completing for Lisha to copy.
Lisha wrote down all the answers quickly and passed his paper back, right under the teacher's nose.
Then Lisha passed her paper to Hayley and once she was done, she passed hers to Keith.
This was a daily thing for exams.
After the exam was done, Lisha rushed to have lunch.
She gobbled down everything like an animal.
"Shit- why are you eating like that?" Keith asks.
"I didn't have anything since last night-" Lisha says while chomping down on the food.
"What really!? Don't tell me it was your parents again..." Keith says.
"Yeah"
"But why!? Why would they do that??" Hayley asks.
"Because my dad slapped me last night and I had slapped him back" she says casually.
Ray who was silent all along finally curses, "They are monsters!!"
"Yeah yeah. Let it be. Once I graduate I'll leave this place and never come back"
"Hey Lisha if you need some place to crash by no that I'm always here" Hayley says.
"Hmm"
Although she played it off cool, her friends were worried about her.
After lunch, at the class.
The teacher was ready to announce the results.
"This test was difficult, but we still have someone who has scored a 100"
The whole class gasps in shock.
"A 100? Man I could barely answer 1 question"
"Who is that?"
"It must be Ray! He is the smartest"
The class spoke among themselves.
But Ray knew that it wasn't him.
Because he had skipped 5 questions, so his marks could at most be a 95.
"Quiet down!" The teacher orders.
Then she looks at Mike and says, "Congratulations! I am really surprised, Mike! You have just transfered and yet you get a perfect score? This is really awesome! Keep it up!"
The whole class turns to look at Mike in shock.
Including Lisha.
On getting his paper, Ray sees the exact score of 95 that he had guessed.
Lisha had a score of 92, and Hayley and Keith both had the scores of 90.
"Damn, I think I had copied this wrong-" Lisha says looking at her paper and comparing it with Ray's.
"Chill, we all passed." Keith says.
"But seriously, how did that newbie score a 100 on a test like this? Even Ray hasn't scored a perfect 100" Hayley says in surprise.
Ray was slightly disheartened at his performance.
He realised that he wasn't the best anymore.
"Maybe, he cheated as well!" Lisha smirked.
"Huh? Really?" Hayley asks.
"Hmm it is possible..." Keith adds.
"I mean if its a tough test like this, there's no way he could get a perfect score!" Lisha says.
But Ray was silent.
This was the first time he was defeated in his class.
Lisha who noticed this felt bad for Ray.
She knew how hard he worked.
Her eyes wondered towards Mike, who was staring outside the window.
The audacity of this guy to cheat on his first exam...
After school, Mike walks out of the class to leave. As he walked down the corridor while looking at his phone, when all of a sudden, he gets pulled into a corner by two strong arms.
Then slamming him against the wall, she stares at him in the eyes.
It was her.
"Lisha?"
He was extremely surprised at her sudden forcefulness.
"You cheated didn't you?"
"What?" He asks in surprise.
Then she moves her hand to check his shirt pockets for any piece of paper that could be a cheat sheet.
But it was empty.
And then...
She goes further and opens up his shirt...
Then gliding her hands down under his shirt, over his naked body underneath, she carefully checks for the possible cheat sheet.
"Lisha..." He blushes bright red.
But ignoring his words, her hands continued to move, down his chest, to his abs...
Then she moves even closer while her hands moves to check his back.
"Nothing? Don't tell me he already got rid of the evidence" she thinks to herself.
"Wait there is one more place remaining..."
She looks down to his pants.
"Probably not..." she thinks to herself and removes her hand.
Only to get it forcefully placed back on his body.
"What's wrong? Look for more" he says.
"Huh?" Lisha gets surprised.
"Who knows, you might find a cheat sheet somewhere" he says with an excited smirk on his face.
"This guy- hah! You are really something" Lisha says, "Aren't you afraid of getting reported?"
"Well, you cheated too."
So he knew...
"That's different" she rolled her eyes.
"How?"
"Ugh- leave it." She shakes his hand off.
But Mike catches it back.
"What!?" She turns to ask him.
"Last time...what we did..."
Lisha realises he was talking about what happened at the rooftop.
"Yeah what about it??"
Then holding her hand a bit more tighter...
"Are you free tonight...?"
