Aiden pov

Aiden was casually talking to Drew when he saw Shah fall to her knees in the corner of his eye.

Aiden turned his head to look at her and his eyes widened.

She had a shaky hand to her mouth and was sweating. All in all she looked like how she was when she saw her rundown apartment.

All of a sudden, she put her phone away and came over shaking. She smiled but it didn't reach her eyes.

"I'm going to the apartment, kay?" Aru told them all.

"I'll go back as well. It's 6" Aiden said, getting up. She was not fit to drive, and they did not need another accident.

"I think I'll stay here" Rudy said.

"Okay. Aiden and I can take my car?" Aru asked, glancing at him.

"Yeah, okay. Rudy, you drive our car back whenever you come" he said.

"Woah woah" Nav said, putting his phone away and looking at all three of us. "You all live together?"

Aru and Aiden sighed loudly. They were getting so tired of explaining this.

"Things happened at Shah's house, and she needed a place to stay, we offered her the guest room" Rudy explained exasperatedly.

Aru left and he followed in suit. She walked to the drivers side, but Aiden stopped her, holding her arm.

"I'll drive" he said. "If that's okay with you"

She turned to look at him and sighed.

"Is it really that obvious?" She asked, smiling tentatively.

"I've known you for about a month now. It's not obvious, just me knowing you"

She smiled at this. "Thanks. I mean it"

And with that she tosses him the keys, walks to the other side and sits in the passenger seat.

Aiden got in as well, but not before he sees her scratching her wrist, absentmindedly.

'NOTE THAT DOWN, ACHARYA!' His brain screamed. 'AND ASK HER ABOUT IT LATER!'

Aru's Pov

Aiden started the car, and backed up. He drove out of the parking lot and switched to single handed driving. She could see veins on his hands, long slender fingers and-

'HOT!' Her brain screamed.

How helpful! Shut up!

Anyway, she looked back ahead, not wanting him to catch her staring. He reached up with the hand he wasn't driving with and tilted the front view mirror toward her, but so that he could still see through it. 'Huh?'

"So" Aiden started, glancing at her wrist. "You gonna tell me why you're scratching your wrist?"

She looked down and saw her left wrist was red now. It was something she did when she was nervous, not like she was gonna tell him that. She hadn't even told her sisters about the habit. It would make her feel way too see-through.

"Nope"

"I'm guessing..." Aiden pausing to pull her right hand away from her left wrist. Oh. She was scratching again and she didn't notice. "Is it something you do when you're nervous?"

"Uhhh-" Aru said. How?

"I guess I'm right" He laughed lowly. "So, do I make you nervous, or was it the phone call earlier? Or both?"

Aru's eyes widened. How was it that he only knew her for less than a month, but already could guess all this? Of course, Ar-Fugly knew her for months, but he hadn't known all of this.

"Both" Aru admitted.

"I make you nervous?" Aiden chuckled. "I didn't know I was capable"

'Not capable? Boy, you make me so nervous, I forget my own name!' Aru screamed inside of her head.

"But anyway" He let go of her hand to make a turn. She didn't even know he was holding it. "I'm not gonna force you. Do you want to tell me what the call was about?"

"Nothing important" She lied as she looked outside.

He raised an eyebrow and glanced at her through the front view mirror. 'Oh' She thought. 'That's why. He wants to be able to watch me to see if I'm lying' She had to admit, that was pretty smart.

"It didn't look like nothing" He said, looking back at the front, making another turn. "You were on your knees, Shah"

"Nothing gets past you, does it?" She sighed.

He grinned. "Nope"

She weighed her choices. She really wanted to tell him, however she also didn't. But she also knew that if she didn't tell him now, she would blurt it out randomly. And considering how that went, back in at Atlanta, she shuddered.

'I know where you live!'

Well yes, obviously! He lives across the street from you! Shut up!

Anyway, she decided to tell him.

"Okay"

"Okay?" Aiden asked.

"So uh" Aru started.

"Wrist" He said warningly, glancing at the front view mirror.

"Right" She stopped scratching. "It was my dad"

He inhaled sharply, taking a turn and then glanced at her through the mirror. He didn't say anything though, so she continued.

"He hasn't contacted me in forever and I never deleted his number, just in case" She paused. "And the thing is, what bothered me the most, is he didn't even contact me through his number or phone"

Aiden's eyes widened a little, and he knew what she was going to say next.

"It was my mom's number"

The words hung in the air, as he stopped at a red light. It was snowing now.

"What did he say?" He asked quietly.

"He said it was dad, and I heard a muffled scream" Aru said, matching his volume and looked outside.

"A scream?" He asked, pale.

"I can't be sure I guess" Aru admitted. "But it sure did sound like one"

"Let's trust your hearing" Aiden said, pulling up into 'Otherworldly residency-The Artist alley', Parking lot.

The Otherworldly Residency apartments weren't exactly...apartments. They were like villas but under the same name. Like there were 3 villas in The Artist Alley and 2 in The Palace of Illusions, the name of Aru, Mini and Brynne's apartment. They were officially where "high class" students of "THE OTHERWORLD UNIVERSITY" stayed. "high class" was just a fancy name for those with the best grades or won a lot of awards.

"Is there anything else?" He asked, parking the car.

"I hung up" She said. "And I uh, don't really wanna talk about it right now."

Aru thought he'd pry, push her into talking about how she felt and y'know therapist stuff. I mean, he was doing pretty good so far-

"Okay" He said, getting out. She looked at him, relieved and surprised, getting out as well. He tossed her back the keys.

The snow fell on them, slowly blanketing the rest of the city in white sheets. She looked at him, and maybe, she thought, just maybe she would be able to trust him. He smiled at her.

She smiled back. "Okay"

SO!

Who else has read The Fault In our Stars? It's really amazing. I like how their thing is

"Okay"

"Okay"

Its pretty cute, so I wanted to weave it in.

Anyway, this chapter is pretty good I think. Do you think it's going too fast?
