"This is the 8th Division Command, we're now arriving at Gold, over"

"Two-Seventeen-Actual rogers, pulling our guys out now, transferring command of Gullður garrison to 8th Division, good luck out there, out"

Svarher, Flashia, 22/10/2017 As tanks had began to set off down to the South of the island in the early morning, the transports would stick around for a little while.

"Alright, let's go for a rollcall..." muttered the dismount commander in the AMV "So uh... first off, Kurt?"

"Ja?"

"Vic?"

"I'm here alright..."

"Ronald?"

"Ja"

"Aimo?"

Without saying a word, the Annish just simply raised his hand up then putting it down.

"Heh, classic... Andre?

"What you want...?" the respond came with a tired voice.

"...Okay then, Kristen?"

"Sir"

"Sjur?"

"Ja!"

"Markus- Wait shit that's me..."

With the whole count having been done with a little chuckle from one of their members, the squad leader then reached for his push to talk.

"Kjartan, we're good to go now"

"Acknowledged" replied the commander of the armor "Moving now, sit tight and relax for the time being"

And right after that, the AMV would gradually pick up speed, moving forward and starting their journey out of Gullður and to a warmer place.

"Man I gonna miss the town..."

"What do you mean? We've only been here for a few days or so..."

"I dunno man... Aimo, what do you think?"

Aimo quietly shrugs.

...

A line of the Pansartransporter K's would pass through a sign leading up to the town Gullður in the Far North. And almost immediately, a main battle tank is seen heading their way out.

"Jörgen, you alright?" asked an infantryman standing on top, just behind the turret.

"I'm fine" replied the other one standing next to him as the first tank goes past them "Don't worry about me"

"Don't worry? Mate, I've lost count on how many times you sneeze since we came here" another tank would pass by.

"I said... don't worry... AGH-TSHOO!"

"See, I told ya"

"It's just cold out here okay, it's fine..."

"Then how come have I not sneezed all that much? After all, we came from the same place" and again, a third Pansar would pass.

"I don't know, ask the person with a mask on..."

The soldier could only give him a side eye while yet another tank went past the convoy.

"Well, you got me there..."

He was indeed, the one with a mask on covering his nose.

"But still, take care of yourself, ja?"

"Yeah, yeah..."

The Gladahjulish Division would be staying here for quite awhile as tensions still linger around the island state of Svarher. The invasion may have been done for, but the war is only beginning between them and the so-called Demonic State...

...

As the 8th Division had moved to the town of Gullður with the 217th pulling its men out, elsewhere, a shot rings out as an exercise was conducted with the combined forces of Esterria and Naeslagtland going up against the local Defense Forces unit.

"Radio check, does anyone copy?"

"We copy"

South of Hivaheift From their own experiences, the Demon Lord's Army do not use any types of guns they know of. But since they do not want to use swords, bow and arrow, crossbow for safety reasons, they just go guns to guns just like they have done as normal.

Also, the ones in Beria may possibly be armed with firearms considering the Berian Army-in-exile came with arquebuses. Still not realistic for the kind of enemy that would face as they don't use RM08's, but it will suffice for now.

The Naeslagt BMPs assume a convoy formation alongside the Ijzerwagens of the Esterrians with troops sitting on top of the vehicles as they travelled on the road through a forest.

The environmental context of the exercise they were under had already made some of them uneasy, as this type of terrain is perfect for any kind of ambush. Even if it turned out small, it could still pose a threat to the convoy.

The Naeslagt BMPs nonetheless continued to lead the vehicles along the path and-

KABOOM

...They tripped a mine. Don't worry, it's a harmless kind for exercises like this.

"CONTACT!" a soldier yelled out before he jumped off with his battle rifle in his hands alongside others. Around this time, flashes of yellow started to appear with multiple reports of gunshots.

They are up against reservists of the Flash Land Army in this exercise, which are not particularly armed with the best and the most advanced equipment that the Defense Forces possesses. However, they're still a comparable force for the units of Gestraen origin.

"Front vehicle down! Front vehicle down!"

The vehicles scrambled to get their guns firing back at the flashes with the infantry going for any cover nearest to them, if not lying down on the ground, also returning fire with what they have at hand. All in the midst of attempted evacuation of some 'wounded casualties' to safety.

"Be advised, we are under heavy fire from enemy ambush, we got machine gun and rifles shooting at us!"

"Acknowledged, what's the size of the enemy forces?"

"We're working on that..."

Even though no one is dying nor hurt, it was as hectic as it could get, the engaging troops locking into combat mode while the vehicles scramble to get out of the killzone.

POP

"Hostile AT took out vehicle 3!"

Another IFV was 'hit' in the engine, rendering a mobility kill on their part. In trade, more of the Esterrian troops with their intermediate rounds would come through to reinforce their lost firepower as more of the 'casualties' mount up.

"They're about a platoon size!"

"All callsigns, you all know what to do"

"GET READY MEN!"

While they still shooting to cover their own, they would also prepare for the charge. It's only a matter of time until the signal would they go for it.

"ADVANCE!"

With the vehicles acting as a supporting element with their 7.62 and .50 coaxial MG, the infantrymen rushed into the treelines on both sides. Many more of their men would be shot in the process, but the momentum is still there with them.

Position by position, they would assault the Flash formations. Some would be overwhelmed by the attacking Esterrian-Naeslagt troops, while some held their ground for longer and managed to score more kills until they would also go down in the end.

In their place, what remained of the Naeslagts and the Esterrians would dig in and hold their newly captured positions.

"Form a defensive perimeter, watch out for counterattacks. In the meantime, get CASEVAC in here!"

In total, the Esterrian-Naeslagt joint forces lost 2 IFVs, 2 platoons and a half. Not a great start, but a start nonetheless.

"...So how's the exercise going for you?" a Flash reservist lying on the ground spoke to a nearby Esterrian.

"Please, don't say a word..." he replied "...You're ruining the immersion..."

"Hahaha, whatever you say bud!"

...

"Have you noticed something's off?" asked a soldier of Reslania.

"...What do you mean by that?"

"It's just... too quiet"

Near the border between Reslania and La Ferdina Skirmishes between had been a daily thing between the new Confederation and its former ruler to its South. However in the recent few days, the front had fell silent out of the blue. Would have been considered a good thing, it was simply... ominous. Why would an Empire hellbent on taking what they held back suddenly stops?

"...Now that you mentioned it..."

The Confederation Army still does patrols like this for this reason as well as mobilizing some of its reserves to prepare for the worst case scenario. Whatever the Gestraen superpower is planning, it may not be good at all.

"I've heard it's the same to the North as well, with those Variks"

"Really?"

"Yeah, they maybe planning something or learned their lessons"

"Probably the former knowing those damn empires"

"I thought so too"

They continued to walk along the road, before then hearing a rumble coming up behind them. The infantryman turned around, revealing one of their own Saracens going past them.

"Hey imagine walking!" shouted one on the Saracen.

"Hey at least we don't hide inside a metal box!" as the PC go past the foot patrol. They would receive a middle finger before he would move on.

"Fuckin' AFVs bastards am I right?"

Just like their Flash equivalent, the Confederation Army (unofficially) participates in rivalries and banters amongst each other, mostly because they were getting bored from the lack of actions aside from small-scale skirmishes.

"Yeah, fucking AFVs bastard..."

...

"I'm gonna be real with you" a Flash soldier spoke to his Geschnokean equivalent as he closes the hood of a Geschnokean truck "I have no idea how I would fix this"

M52 Highway, Svarher Their first day in Svarher is one of the starts of all time as the entire convoy of Geschnokean trucks transporting troops and supplies halted as a result of one of their trucks breaking down. Many aren't really having it as they found themselves having to stand in the middle of nowhere, shivering as freezing winds blew through.

Fortunately for them however, a Flash personnel just happens to be passing by in his Multifunktionkøretøj. Perhaps it wouldn't be as bad after all.

"So how are we going to arrive at our destination then?" inquired a Geschnokean soldier "We can't get stranded here in the middle of the freezing temperature!"

"Don't worry, I'll call up a recovery vehicle if you don't mind us pulling your lorry along"

"That... is acceptable..."

The soldier in a pattern of black and white nodded before walking back to his green utility vehicle which looks kind of more like a luxury vcar back home with some sleek, curvy aspect as well as the unique rim of the design.

The Geschnokean meanwhile would turn to his colleague.

"What do we do now?" he asked.

To which he would answer:

"We wait until their recovery vehicle arrives"

"Seriously? Why don't we just camp out here and wait for our other guys to show up and fix our truck?"

"Do you want to freeze to death?"

"Uh..."

"Did you really think we prepared enough for this kind of cold?"

"...Yes?"

"By the gods..." he facepalmed "...I didn't think it's this low..."

While their standard winter equipment is good enough for Svarher, planning fell rather short in terms of shelter. Even back in Animaatland, some had trouble getting a good night sleep just from the cold. Here, it's even colder meaning that insulation capability becomes even more dubious.

They could theoretically cram multiple soldiers in one tent together to create warmth, but then the issue with comfortability would spawn and the outcome would probably still be the same anyway.

This is the main reason why they had to share a base to the North of this island with their Flash equivalents who could provide a sufficient resting place against even the blizzard of the Northern Edge, which itself is why they took on this trip.

"What? We're the second strongest superpower after all, we would receive more adequate equipment!"

"And that would waste us time here! It wouldn't make it before frost gets us! Now would you behave and wait?! By the gods!"

The Geschnokean turned around after having silenced his fellow. Looking around and just generally waiting around. Just then, the Flash personnel returned to him.

"I just called it in" he reported "Estimated time to arrival is 15 minutes"

"That's lovely to hear!" he exclaimed in response "Thank you very much!"

"Aye, it's no problem, take care of yourselves yeah?"

The Geschnokean nodded whilst reaching for his clock as his Flash equivalent turned away again. He would flip the lid open upon having the hand clock out, it's off by a few hours or so, but he had to make do for now.

He would close it up again and putting it back into his coat after verifying the time.

"15 minutes..." he mumbled "...Better do something to kill time..."

...

"Moving on from Svarher, troops presence of the Flash Defense Forces have been increased in Southern Naeslagtland as well as being supplemented by even more soldiers of the Naeslagtlandic Royal Army.

According to our sources, the Flash 99th Battalion, part of the Marine Assault Units had entered the town of Korsburg yesterday on unknown grounds. This is in the midst of a mysterious pullout from the Naeslagtlandic island of Nyttland, further adding to the confusion.

The Naeslagtlandic Government has refused to comment on the situation so we could not acquire further information than what is happening right now" - Esterrian Voice of News

What the eyes see on the street of their dear town can be described as bizzare.

Korsburg, Naeslagtland Military personnel, even their own wouldn't normally be seen roaming around this city outside of some parades. Yet, citizens would walk past the Royal Army infantry with their rifles at slope arms marching past with their Flash equivalents armed with funny-looking equipment and weaponry.

All eyes were upon these soldiers if given the chance. And it's safe to say that it gives all of them a chill, with them looking around having at least an uncomfortable feeling in guts.

Armored carriages as well as vehicles of the Marinesoldater would also roll down the road, further adding to the bizarreness of this whole situation. No one feels good about this, uneasiness becomes a constant feeling onward for some time as far as anyone knows and questions would be left unanswered.

Really, all they could do is sit around, waiting, and maybe conjure up some talks to keep themselves together.

"Sä koskaa' miettin, mist tässä on kys?" (You ever wondered what this is all about?) inquired a Mariner standing guard at an intersection.

"...Ei?" (...No?) answered another.

"Miksei?" (Why not?)

"Ajatellin se on normaalia että meiät sijoitiin tänne?" (I thought it is normal that we got deployed here?)

"Voi olla... mut miks nuo myös vetäytyi tuolta saarelta?" (Could be... but why would they also withdraw from that island?)

His counterpart shrugs.

"En tieä" (Beats me)

The 2 Mariners would seemingly end it there, looking around their surrounding.

"Miten elämä voi?" (So how's life?) the soldier continued "Asutko yhä sä tuossa paskan boksissa?" (Still living in that shitty apartment?)

"Turpa kiinni..." (Shut up)

The Mariner would chuckle... much to the confusion of a Naeslagt man just passing by. Both would notice the bewildered standing there and one respond by raising his (gloved) palm up.

"Hey, how are you doing?" he shouted with some accent, to which the Naeslagt seemingly snapped out of it.

"Oh, uh me...?" he replied "I'm fine... I'm fine..."

He would then walk away.

"Hva snakker de om...?" (What are they talking about?) he mumbled.

"Kuitenkin..." (Anyways...) he'd turned back to his mate "Vahinko ei tulle kello kaulassa, voimme sittenkin joutua sotaan. Älä kuitenkaan laske sanojan sen suhteen" (Accidents don't come with a bell on their necks, we could find ourselves in a war after all. Don't count my words on that though)

"Ymmärsin" (Understood)

[Don't bother translating the Finnish in here btw, as this is my attempt at colloquial Finnish so there might be mistakes or just the thing alone breaking the translator]

...

"If your credit card declines at an abortion clinic, does the doctor nut in you?"

"...That's uh... an interesting thought..."

"I'm sorry WHAT?!"

Northern Svarher The sea that connects Beria to the state of Svarher has been ripe with military activity since the thing about the demons kicked off. Vehicles of various types and helmets of different nations have been building up in size.

And among those, the Luftforsvar would cover the airpower part. A flight of Gripen would conduct a combat air patrol as they're part of the package that shields the airspace of the island state. But much like for... everybody else, things can get stale at times, especially when they won't be fighting for awhile after the Demonic State's fiasco called an invasion.

"I mean think about it, if you go to an abortion clinic for fetus deletus, and your credit card gets denied at the last second, the doctor is going to need to make you pregnant again, no?"

"...S-Should I stop him?"

"Nah..." a snicker would be heard in between "Just let him cook"

2 jets, 2 pilots, one just had a thought straight out of his pocket, the other is just entertained and the third guy being the very concerned AWACS.

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Just... let him... it's getting good from here"

These pair of fighters would circle around an area that they along with their squadron were tasked to. And owing to the fact there has not been any contact with wyverns of the North Pole in the past week, someone had to keep their mood up.

"I mean, if they won't pay up, you gotta return the fetus, no?"

"God help me..."

"...Anyways, let's just move on shall we?"

"Finally-"

"How do dragons fuck each other now that they exist in this world?"

"..."

"Yep, that's our Jester for you, Basement"

"For fuck's sakes IFUF (I Find the Unfunny Funny)..."

...

Heavy panting is heard from lizardmen as they rest by the fortification that they had just made.

Beri Island, Demonic State The DS is not one to be scared as they did defeat the Berian Army for control of the islands, however, this is completely different.

They were finally spooked after their invasion intent on revenge turned out to be an irrecoverable disaster like no other, so spooked that they have made efforts in fortifying the entirety of Beria, including Beri where the former Kingdom gets their name from and where Hošče is hosted.

The Demonic Lord's Army as it seems, had to resort to being defensive instead of conquering more lands for their own. A humiliation for the state who vowed to continue the legacy of a long lost empire.

They had it bad for the most part, but for the troops, it meant that no one would get too seasick. It's still not all sunshine and rainbows however, as the workload that they have to do pretty much cancels out the good part for the DLA's rank and files.

As they all sit or lie exhausted, a figure would walk up to the leading lizard lying down on the ground. It would take him some time to process who is there before him, assessing the features that the figure had. And then, it was clear to him that an ogre was staring down on him.

"...Sir Krokur?" he recognized him as the one in charge of the Wyvern Corps "I... did not expect you here..."

"I just want to see how have we progressed in the build up of defensive postitions" he replied "Now rise before me"

The lizardman looked around to find something to support his hand on before deciding that the snow is his choice. He'd take his time to slowly get on his feet, still tired and all that. Once he was up, the ogre would speak again.

"Report"

"Sir..." he would answer, still panting "Our group has built up defensive positions along the Northern outskirt of the town.... We will eventually link up with others to create an envelopment... for when they come... we will prevent their advance from every direction... and eliminate them from every sides..."

"Very well then" Krokur nodded in approval "You still have works to do, but for now, rest easy for the day"

"Thank you, Sir Krokur..."

The ogre would then momentarily turn his eyes away and to what is there around him. Snow, some trees, and the impressively long trench along with fortification made out of logs are among them.

"...So Sir Krokur" the lizardman would continue "...Aren't you the Commander of our Wyvern Corps?"

"That is still the case..." he replied "However, by the will of our Lord, I would also take over our land forces"

"I see... no arguments against that... someone has to replace... him..."

"Yes... may the Lord bless his soul..."

The ogre would then get back to viewing the surrounding, with solace, worries and determination in his thought.

'You fought hard Verkog, may you rest well in the snow or wherever you are...'

...

A dark green truck of the Flash Land Army would pull along the magic-powered truck of the Geschnokean Army with personnel sitting in the cabin and the bed, free to do anything while it pulls them along.

This is what the other in front of them are seeing, and frankly...

"...It just looks weird..."

The Flash Defense Forces as it seems have absolutely zero experience with magical vehicles that isn't that of the La Ferdinan self-propelled carriages. Even then, they do not have the resources available to work on them.

"I mean it works, no?"

"Indeed, but it would have been better if we had the tools and parts for getting the thing run again"

Due to logistical issue, lack of spare parts for their own vehicles has been a major issue for the expeditionary contingents. It has recently been rectified in Animaatland, but not Svarher, and so the waiting game is started again.

"It is what it is, just be grateful that these Flashians-"

"Don't they call themselves Flash?"

"Ah potato potato, same thing. What I'm trying to say is that they do have the necessary equipment to help us in full, and so we should be grateful"

"At least they got that, I can concur"

The spirit of the expeditionary units is still there, but for now, they will have to deal with whatever Svarher throws at them.
