[Rewritten Esterrians in Flashia]
"It is now official, the Federal Government announced that they have re-established outside contact, only with a twist though. As we have apparently found ourselves in a new world which baffled even the best expert, we now have diplomatic relation with the Commonwealth of Esterria directly to our South across a strait.
Represented by Queen Marie III, she ascended to the throne at the age of 13 in the aftermath of her parents' assassination with Gessel Kiel acting as her head-of-government as Prime Minister.
According to the Commonwealth, the assailant was a man who supports slavery, something that has recently been outlawed by a Royal Decree of the Queen's predecessor .
Speaking of which, Esterria also have to deal with the Havenklein War, in which Esterria's military is struggling with. The insurgency is led by slave owners, who does not want to let their slaves be free following the decree, with the EAS, the Esterrian Association of Slavers controlling more than half of the region
The Federal Government hopes to work with Esterria further, and resolve the current conflict in any way possible" - Dagens Begivenheder 24/7 Radio
Einskirka, Esterria, 5/4/1702 It has been a week since the Federal Republic of Flashia established diplomatic relations and trade with the Commonwealth of Esterria, and the country has seen a good amount of economic growth over the past week.
For Flashia, it meant that some of the crisis got resolved to certain extent, including the food crisis as Esterria's soil turned out to be quite fertile, allowing a stockpile of food for the Commonwealth and the Federal Republic, coupled with Esterria's rather surprising willingness to buy some of the stuff Flashia has. Only the commercial products that can't really be used for military though.
"If I am reading this correctly..." said the young Queen "Our economic prospect is getting better and better every day thanks to Flashia even despite the sanctions from the Kingdoms Union?"
The Kingdoms Union is a union that solely consists of monarchies, in a nutshell they're a union that strives to develop the member states' economy as well as occassionally helping out in the military side of things. The Commonwealth of Esterria used to be one of the members, however, the emancipation of slaves had alienated other members and so, they were unceremoniously kicked out.
"Indeed, your majesty" said Gessel, the Prime Minister "I must remind you however, that it could have been better if it wasn't for that war in the South-West"
"That is true... From what I can tell, the situation is deteriorating every day... I am afraid that we might lose Havenklein one day"
"Worry not, your majesty, I'm sure now we could turn the tide against those rebels now with Flashia helping us out"
"I guess you could say that... But I don't know if being assisted by Flashia alone would help the situation"
At this point, Gessel couldn't find any more words to say, leaving the room in a rather awkward silence... before it was then shattered.
"Hey, I have an idea" said Marie III "How about we pay a visit to Flashia?"
"Why?" questioned the Prime Minister.
"I figured that to really know how they could help us, the best way to to do that is to go there ourselves"
Gessel nodded.
"I must say, that is a splendid idea, your majesty. But now the problem is, who shall accompany you in your trip?"
"Let's start... with you"
"And anyone else?"
"Yes, Velstra and Hark"
"And where would you say we will go?"
"Let us go... to Ka-va-grzh-motia"
(That's a pronunciation guide for 'Kawagrzmotia' for ye)
"Very well-" Gessel's eyes then widened on a split second "Wait, did you say Kawagrzmotia?"
"Yes, I did" Marie III assured to her minister "You are not hearing it wrong"
"B-But that Foreign Minister said that there are problems there, a-are you sure you want to go?"
"I wanted to see Kawagrzmotia with my very own eyes, and what problems it face. Additionally, it would also be quite an experience isn't that correct?"
"I- Uh... Well I suppose you're right..." the prime minister then clears his throat "...Very well then, preparation shall be commenced for the trip... in the meantime, may I notify our Flashian counterparts about this?"
(Just so you know, Flashian is actually incorrect, it's just Flash)
"Yes, you may"
...
??? "Your Majesty" said a military general as he bows down to his emperor on the throne "We have received news from our agents in Esterria"
"Speak, General Bogdan" said the emperor.
"Our spies have confirmed that Esterria opened up diplomatic relationship and trade with a country named Federa Republic of Flashia"
(Misspelling is not on accident btw)
For a brief moment, the Emperor chuckled.
"Oh dear, Marie III is really that desperate huh? So what can you tell us about this republic?"
"Your majesty, it's located right up to the Nortj of Esterria across a strait. And it seems to us that this barbarian republic is different from the ones we know, in that it has so-called 11 states with autonomy to do anything they want so long as they answer to the central authority on certain issues. All the while not having a capital"
That raised an eyebrow of the emperor, as in how on this living earth could a country, regardless of if it's a kingdom or republic, civilized and uncivilized have not have a single capital city?
"What effects does this barbarian country have on the Esterrian traitors?" the emperor continued.
"Your majesty, they started growing back at a rate before our sanctions, even slightly surpassing it"
The effects astonished the emperor on the throne, as it seems to him that this Flashia is very rich, but then he assumed it meant they have a weak military, so it was no concern, for now at least.
For those who don't know, one popular theory of this world is the 'Balance Theory', a country with absurdly strong military would have really weak economy, and the one with absurdly strong economy would be the one with weaker army. Of course, there are some exceptions, but it still applies to most of the (civilized) country
"Very well, continue spying on the traitors, and prepare for some missions on this barbaric republic"
...
Einskirka Port, Esterria Crate by crate are being loaded to the ship docked on the port. At this point and time, the preparation is almost completed, just need some couple things here and there.
"You know, I am a bit worried about visiting Flashia" said Velstra "They might not be that welcoming to us for who we are and where we come from"
"I can argue that Velstra has a point" said a Hark, a male noble "Historically speaking, it was us monarchies that conquer republics one by one after all so I have little expectation for us being there"
"No, I don't think so" said the Prime Minister joining them today "That foreign minister we met with was quite nice to us even after that happened, so I am sure they will welcome us just fine"
"Just because he's a high ranking official in the government doesn't mean he represents the people there dear Kiel"
A tid bit regarding both of these nobles, Velstra and Hark, who by the way are older than Marie, are very close to our young queen here with their families' close relation with the former King and Queen. They've been there since she was a toddler, and they certainly been there when her parents were suddenly killed.
"Uh, shall we continue this during the trip, please?" said the queen.
The trio then stayed silent, not saying any more words with each other.
"Thank you"
...
The Foreign Minister of Flashia would see a rather bizzare scene before him. What he saw are moments of Flashia seemingly waging war against someone and after that, the flag of Flashia was raised like as if they became a superpower of some sort.
And given the fact that Federal Republic is known for neutrality aside from defeating the Hatemeans in a war back in the 2000s, they were indeed a manifestation of weird events.
"What the shit is this...?"
As he was seeing this however, the sound of the phone ringing would faintly reach his ears. And in a short while, it pulled Oliver back to his office. A little bit confused, he looked around him before then picking up the phone.
"Since when did I fell asleep?" he mumbled before clearing his throat.
"Hello, Foreign Minister Oliver Magovac here"
"Sir" said a staff member on the phone "We just received a message from our Esterrian counterparts"
"Really? I'm listening"
"Sir the Queen herself is visiting"
"...I'm sorry what?"
"Marie III is coming to our country"
"I see then..." the minister tapped his finger on the table a few times "Say... where are they going for again?"
"Her ship will dock at... what was it? Ah Zarabiaćskonać!"
"Kawagrzmotia?"
"Yep"
"...You know, I am not going to lie, that's probably the worst choice that those Esterrians could have made"
"Well it's too late to change their minds now sir, better go there to get them settled in sir"
"Right, thank you"
The Foreign Minister then hangs out and immediately get his other hand to swiftly lift his glasses and rubbed his eyes. The glasses is then dropped upon getting it off before a big stretch.
"Geez, what one of the dreams of all time eh?"
...
The Prime Minister of Esterria sits down on a crate while the ship is underway while the sound of the wave crashing into the wave resonated. As he stared into the sea, a noble would approach him with a somewhat unstable posture.
"Mr. Hark" said Gessel in acknowledgment of the noble's presence.
"Prime Minister" he said before trying to sit down with him. And then he tripped.
"Whoa, be careful there!" Gessel grabbed onto his arm, then proceeded to guide the sick noble down to the crate "...Anyways, what brings you here?"
"Oh I just wanted some fresh air... now what brings YOU here?"
"Just wanted to see the sea. It feels... rather nostalgic after years"
"What do you mean by that...? Does this mean you were in the Navy?"
Gessel nodded.
"I did for 5 years of my life"
"Wow... no wonder you don't seem to be sick..."
"5 years in the ocean have done a lot to me... Speaking of which, are you?"
"Huh?"
"You seem to be at the verge of throwing up just so you know..."
"...A bit... yes..."
"What about Her Majesty and Velstra then?"
"...Let's just say they have vomitted enough"
"As expected..."
For those who don't know, ladies are more prone to sea sick than males. Don't call me out on this for misogyny because unfortunately that's how biology works and there's really nothing we can do about it.
Gessel looked around the ship, trying to find a certain someone.
"Laurie!"
After he had grabbed her attention, he then gestured for a lady at the front of the ship to come closer.
Laurie is a mage specializing in navigation and generally finding others by magic signatures. For the most part, she served with merchants, but now she had the pleasure to serve with Her Majesty herself along with others.
"Sir Kiel" said the mage "What assistance do you call from me?"
"Well, I just wanted to know if we're close to Flashia or not"
"Then in that case... no, as I have not picked up any magic signature around here"
"Are you sure?"
Laurie is visibly confused by this.
"What do you mean am I sure? It's pretty clear to me we're not there yet"
"Well then..." the prime minister stood up, walking up to the mage's side "I want you to take a closer look in that particular location" he pointed his finger off to the front right of the ship "And tell me what do you see"
Laurie looked over to the direction he had pointed at, squinting her eyes then activating the 'Eagle Eye' magic allowing her to zoom in her vision. And what came first to her sight astonished her.
It was a grey ship without sails and sailors going about around the vessel, and above the ship is an ensign clearly belonging to their new friend of the North.
"W-W-What...? B-But... how?"
"It seems we are actually that close isn't that right?"
Still flabbergasted, she then later nodded in agreement.
"By the gods Kiel" said Hark "You got sharp eyes!"
...
Zarabiaćskonać, Kawagrzmotia, Flashia "You sure this the place they'd arrive in?"
2 men in suit can be seen leaning on a black SUV at the port of the city, waiting for a certain ship.
"I'm sure" said the partner "Besides, I've heard the Navy reported the presence of an Esterrian sailship coming towards this city, and it wouldn't be the other ship we're talking about"
"...Aight then... what do you think they come here for?"
"Could be for seeing our country in their own eyes, try to learn something I guess?"
"I see..."
The guys then looked around the port, with their eyes and ears meeting a rather quiet scenery.
"You know, I still find it funny how, out of all the places they could have chosen, they chose Kawagrzmotia"
"Ah well, I don't know about that really..."
...
Moments later, the Esterrian ship had finally arrived at the port of Zarabiaćskonać, after hours of sailing across the strait as they now dock their ship with the anchor dropped.
With the plank then set up, Gessel walked out looking fresh as ever, while others... not so much.
"...What a trip to not remember..." muttered Velstra.
"Just hold on Velstra..." said Hark "We have only begun our journey after all..."
Gessel looked at the sick trio with a smile on his face. Before then, he hears someone approaching him.
"So I suppose you are the Esterrians that we're told to pick up?"
That someone was actually 2 people in a formal attire of suits.
"Yes" replied the Prime Minister "And you must be our Flash counterparts?" he then reaches his hand out.
"Yep, we're sent here by the Foreign Ministry" the two then exchanged a handshake.
Gessel knew about the handshake as he had learned from captain Mendejerik that this very gesture was used by Oliver Magovac as a gesture of trust and cooperation.
"Anyways, like I said, we're here to come and pick you up at this port so we can get you a place to rest"
"Speaking a place to rest..." Gessel turned around to the trio struggling to keep straight with Laurie there trying her best to support "I don't think we would need to waste time so let us go shall we?"
"Right sir" the man in suit nodded before turning around with his partner following close "Just get those 3 up"
Gessel would return the nod as he then gets back to the 2 nobles and the Queen.
...
BANG
Meanwhile, back in the town of Zarabiaćskonać, protests are still happening on a lot of the streets with flames being lit on the road and the police spraying water and launching tear gas on the rioters. The security forces here have been stretched thin as they have made arrests after arrests with the cells reaching capacity.
And yet, they show no signs of backing down.
"HOLD THE LINE!"
Anyone could see the chaotic scene of these people clashing with the riot police, getting physical on the transparent shield with the word 'POLICIJA' inscribed on the front.
And caught between that same scenery is a certain man of the 1700s.
"By the gods, what even is this?"
He watched from afar as white smokes were lobbed into the particularly violent people with them being dispersed after doing so. The man then slowly takes his pace back, before fully turning around and walk somewhere else.
He walked past the strange carriages of varying colors and shapes, some with the same 'POLICIJA' with an uniform of decals and blue lights. The man continued on walking, past the carriages and to a scene of a peaceful protest with supervision of the authority.
Upon seeing this, he was shocked as to how these protestors could voice their anger without any worries of these men from the Policija cracking down on them, not to mention their extremely close proximity.
He could not understand what the signs were saying, but it was definitely about something they aren't happy with.
He then looked down an empty street, and besides the occassional things littered on the road, the city looked extremely nice. Even the capital city of the country he's from pale in comparison, both in how the city looks after all and the apparent wealth, not to mention the freedom he seen from those protestors.
He stared down the street with thoughts in his mind as one could tell on his face, before he then disappear somewhere into an alleyway.
