"Hey, Angel, you couldn't stay away." Damon extended his hands for her shoulder but before he could touch her Nancy leaned onto the wall wincing. Damon looked down to find a piece of glass pierced in Nancy's foot. "Oh, fuck,..."

He instantly picked her up and took her into the study room. Robert shook his head and noticed Damon on his knees and Nancy sitting on the sofa.

"It must be hurting but it doesn't seem too deep honey. I am going to..." Damon pulled the piece out all the while saying. "...pull it out."

"Get me towels?" Damon asked Robert who walked into the bathroom and got the towels for Damon who quickly wrapped her foot in the towel.

"Ah..." Nancy winced when Damon pressed on her wound but listening to her wincing Damon yelled at Robert, "Call the doctor,"

Robert called Dario and asked him to send a doctor as soon as possible. A few minutes later Dario called him back and asked for the details as they were reaching the estate so the doctor was aware of what was he to deal with.

Robert walked away from Damon's earshot before telling him. "It is nothing serious. Lady got a glass in her feet that Damon had already pulled out. I am sure it is not even bleeding anymore. But let him come and have a look because this is what her husband wants."

"We are almost there in ten minutes," Dario assured,

Robert walked in and found Damon asking, "Is it hurting?"

"No," Nancy replied,

"I am sure it is not as hurting as the gunshot she got on her arm," Robert commented,

This made Damon look at Robert in disappointment. Damon wonders why would he remind Nancy of such a traumatic event. Nancy sobbed a little and Damon looked down at her foot before he kissed her toe fingers.

"The doctor will give you some numbing cream and it all will all be fine. What were you doing here?" He asked making Nancy sob a little louder. "I wanted to..."

"She wanted to see you. It is all clear. At least, for her it is honeymoon." This made Damon look at Robert as if he had lost his mind. "What the fuck is wrong with you? What are you doing?..."

"I didn't mean it. It was a joke." Robert said it looking at Nancy who again didn't maintain eye contact.

"Get out of here," Damon ordered and Robert tried. "Fine, I guess I should leave you two."

"Don't listen to him." Damon looked up at Nancy who nodded and barely managed, "Ok," but when he heard the door after Robert's exit, he asked, "So, how much did you hear?"

Nancy gulped and remained quiet for a minute before Damon asked again. This time, looking a little impatient. "What did you hear?"

"Nothing, I wasn't listening to anything. I heard something about the hotel auction but it was only when I was considering what is the right time to knock."

"It's fine. There is nothing I was trying to hide. Robert is having a hard time believing that we can be in love." Damon smiled but noticing suspicion in her eyes he asked, "You don't trust me," Nancy instantly recalled how he always mentioned that he believed her. "I believe you. You don't have to explain."

Damon smiled and kissed her toenails again. "You will be fine," Their door was knocked and a lady doctor appeared. Damon didn't change his position. As if he wasn't afraid to show the world he worships this woman. Damon was convinced she was worth worshipping.

The doctor slowly unwrapped the towel and examined the wound. "I guess it has stopped bleeding. I will clean it and put the bandage on it." Nancy nodded and Damon came to sit beside her now. He held her hand all the while saying, "You are fine."

"I have written a few medicines for infection," The doctor said but Nancy added,

"I am already taking some medicines for infection,"

"I see, then those will be fine. Try to have as much rest as possible." The doctor advised and this made Damon and Nancy exchange a gaze.

"She will," Damon told the doctor and pointed to Dario to show the doctor out.

"Does it still hurt?" Damon asked,

"I guess I will know once I put my foot on the floor," Nancy said looking at the bandage.

"Then, don't. Allow me to carry you to our room." Nancy nodded and got her arms around Damon's neck when he came to lift her. "Why did you come?" Damon asked her once they started ascending the stairs.

"Well, I guess I really couldn't stay away," Nancy answered getting her face more into his neck.

"Don't do this. You need to rest. This is what that doctor said," Damon reminded,

"So, we aren't going to do anything?" Nancy seemed to be hiding her smile.

"What the hell are you trying to do? Don't make it more difficult for us than it already is." Nancy still tried to touch his hair and play with him. Damon walked into their bedroom and put her on the bed. "Come on, rest." He said covering her body with the sheet but she was quick to ask when she found him leaving. "Where are you going?"

"Giving you time to recharge," Damon answered,

"But where can I look for you?" Nancy insisted and Damon smiled. "So, you can come and get hurt again?"

"Or we can cuddle in the bed and talk. This way I won't have to look for you and get hurt." Nancy kept her voice soft and inviting. She knew she didn't know ways to become a lover. But she had decided to stop and think about what she would have said if the man in front of her was the one she loved.

"Is this what you want? Then, it is what you will get." Damon got rid of his suit jacket and removed his shirt. "I will be awake by your side so you don't have to put your foot on the floor. At least, not to look for me."

Damon walked to the other side of the bed to join her and Nancy turned to his side giving him full attention.

Nancy smiled wider when he got closer. She made a note in her mind to speak as little as possible and try not to get into trouble. She gladly accepted to get into his arms and put her head on his chest.

Damon had started believing that everything was destroyed after the last night. But it was doing the opposite. Maybe Nancy was able to recognize the efforts he had been making after all. She was by his side after all they had been through.

"Is it hurting?" Damon asked and Nancy sniffed a little before whispering, "No,"

"Good, now sleep," Damon leaned down to kiss her head. Nancy knew she couldn't sleep peacefully when he was awake. She had never slept first whenever they had shared the bed.

"I am not sleepy," She told him.

"But try," Damon advised.

"No," Nancy insisted,

"Fine, do you have any questions about what you heard at the door? Now, is the time..."

"I know I don't have to worry about it. I trust what you will decide for us," Nancy told him making Damon smile and rub her arm. Damon's eyes lingered on her gunshot wound and he slightly trailed his thumb over it. He noticed how Nancy got stiff. "Do you sometimes wish we had met in some different situation?"

Nancy took her time before telling him. "There would have been no other way. Do you sometimes?"

"I do," Damon replied. This made Nancy look up in his eyes. Nancy noticed he was looking at her wound. "You wouldn't have looked at me," Nancy told him making Damon huff. "Don't decide for me."

Nancy moved her finger on his chest while telling him. "I don't hate any part of this journey. Do you know why? Because this is how we met. This is our journey. Own it,"

Nancy felt Damon's large fingertips making circles at the back of her head. Her eyes started getting heavy when she heard Damon whispering, "I am right here, Angel. Sweet dreams,"

Nancy woke up and looked up to find Damon looking at her. "Are you up? It's still very early. Get back to sleep..." But rubbing her eyes Nancy looked at the windows. Damon was right. It was indeed early.

"Why didn't you sleep?" Nancy looked at Damon who kept looking at her morning face. All Damon could see was her worrying about his lack of sleep. "I am all good. Just sleep," Damon tried to get her in but Nancy shook her head. "No, I am fine," She tried to get up but Damon reminded her. "The doctor said you shouldn't..."

"I am fine, Damon," Damon realized how she wasn't calling him lord in this state. He held her cheek and asked her. "From today on you will only call me Damon." Nancy too realized her mistake but smiled putting her hand on his chest. "Ok, Damon darling,"

"Now, I have changed my mind. You will always call me Damon darling," Nancy laughed and pulled him down. "Lie down and sleep. Please,..." She insisted but Damon got on her instead. And, before Nancy could take hold, they were kissing each other. Damon pulled away and stared into her eyes. "Tell me you will be mine till the end of time."

"I will be yours till the end of time," Nancy made the promise but Damon knew his whole life would revolve around holding Nancy to this promise. He was not only looking at the love of his life. He was looking at the new channel his madness had found to go to. She was his reason to live now. Damon held her waist and pushed her to his excitement. "You know what you are?" Damon tugged her ear with his teeth before whispering into her ear. "You are fucking everything, Nancy Anderson,"

In the morning when the maid came into their room to clear the table where they had had breakfast, Nancy was the first to raise the question. "So, what are the plans for today?"

"I don't know you decide. But that will have to be in the estate. We aren't going out. This foot needs time to recover." Nancy couldn't help but remember how he didn't let her gunshot wound get treated well. It was still hurting. She didn't know why but was forced to see something about his behaviour. He was slowly detaching themselves from what they had been through. And, that gunshot wound reminded him of their terrible marriage at first.

"Fine, I will think of something," Nancy replied picking up the newspaper. It had a piece of news about a wine-tasting event tomorrow. "This looks great. I would love to go on a wine-tasting event."

"You never told me you liked wine." Damon seemed amused. As if he knew what he wanted to do for her.

"Who doesn't?" Nancy asked,

"Well, if this is what you want. Get ready and I will take you to our cellar to show you..."

"Not like this. I want to attend a proper event for wine tasting if not this one."

"Fine, get ready and you will get the proper wine event." Damon seemed confident.

"Really?" Nancy smiled and shrugged her shoulder as if she had found some winning.

Damon announced in their neighbourhood and the nearby market about the event he wanted to arrange in his estate during lunchtime. Nancy who didn't know any of it got ready into a light cream-coloured dress and complimented her outfit with a hat too. Damon took her to the backside of the home where a few people had already gathered. She wonders how thoughtful he was to arrange it the same way as a wine tasting. Even a few members were roaming in the uniform to explain the type of wine to their guests if they needed to.

"This is beautiful," Nancy said,

"Well, you are the host. It is all yours." Nancy smiled and looked at Damon to thank him. "Thank you, Damon darling."

People attended with their families and were mostly the ones who came from the nearby market. "This is wonderful," Nancy couldn't help but get the feeling that she had thrown a party for the people to taste the wine.

"Why don't you taste some wine from our farm?"

"I would love to," Nancy said and tried a few samples at the table where Damon had arranged his company's wine named Legacy.

"This is such a wonderful day." Damon noticed how easy it was for her to take up the position of a host. She didn't need any education to be a lady. Her shoulders are straight as she gets into the role of a host. Her walk has confidence. He had told her previously how she does get into the act at social gatherings. As if she is well-versed for such events. Damon wasn't complaining. It only made her more eligible for the role of his wife.

"I have such a strange thought," Damon stated,

"What?" Nancy smiled getting her hold firmer on his arm.

"What if you are someone's runaway bride or daughter who was hiding her identity because of her family's mess." Nancy for a moment looked at him as if she had seen a ghost. "What?" But Damon laughed out loud. "But then I remember what a drunkard your brother was. And, all of my suspicions are cleared." Nancy whose throat was suddenly parched took a huge gulp of the wine while Damon raised another question. "So, every village in Russia raises their daughter the same way? Like they are to be wedded to an elite?"

"It's just basic ethics, nothing special," Nancy tried to sound convincing and Damon agreed, "Maybe I have only married the women from troubled broken homes." When Nancy constantly stared at him Damon swirled his drink and shrugged his shoulders. "Don't look at me. It is my first time marrying a gem of a woman." He complimented her all the while coming to kiss her earlobe.

Nancy smiled or tried not to think much of his comment. Or she knew it would be harder to keep the appearances. Nancy was humble enough to see the last of the guests. It felt good meeting and smiling at other people. Almost refreshing to her soul. Recently, Nancy has started believing that only her husband and she live in the whole big world. But meeting normal people who were enjoying the chance to have a good wine was calming her nerves after a long time.

"So, was it to your taste?" Damon asked making Nancy blush. "It was even better."

In the evening, Nancy believed it was fine to unwrap the bandage so she did and it indeed was in good condition. She cleaned her wound skillfully making Damon recall that often she had nursed the wounds by herself. He had taught her to be sufficient when it comes to wounds because it was the only thing, he had given her. But then as if he wanted to negate what he was thinking he asked, "Did you enjoy the wine tasting?" Maybe he badly wanted to name something he had done for her and forget about the thought that had passed him. Nancy smiled looking up at him and agreed, "Yes, even the weather was great."

"I don't have control over the weather. But whatever you would like we can fly to that weather." Nancy smiled almost finished with the bandage. "I have no doubts about that,"

"Tell me something about you?" Damon asked and Nancy looked at him. She couldn't help but recall the comment he had passed on her during the event.

"What do you want to know?" Nancy asked trying her best to hide her uneasiness with the question.

"Anything. Don't think much about it. No matter how stupid, how embarrassing. Anything," Nancy seemed to be thinking for a moment before she shook her head,

"I can't think of something. Ask me and I will tell you," Nancy wanted to measure what he was thinking about. What did he want to know?

"That's fine. Then, talk about us." Damon had a tone of order this time.

"Us?" Nancy asked,

"Yes, don't you think about us?" Nancy found herself in a difficult spot.

"Of course, I do," She blurted out. Sweat beads were appearing on her temple.

"Tell me, I want to know," Damon smiled,

"I think of our future..." Nancy trailed off and started gathering the stuff she had used for her wound and put it on her side table.

"What in the future?" Damon asked and Nancy recalled how he once mentioned having a family with her. She slowly put her foot down and Damon walked to her and sat right beside her. Nancy inhaled his scent and managed a smile while answering. "I think about starting a family with you." Nancy also tried to act coy about it.

"We are already a family. What else?" Damon asked,

"I think about having a daughter and a son." She noticed how Damon's smile only got wider.

"What about our daughter and son?" Damon couldn't wait to question and it made Nancy stutter.

"I...I..." She didn't have any idea. She had never thought about it. Nothing was coming up. But Damon held her knee and asked,

"Do you imagine about growing them in your belly?" Damon touched her belly making Nancy too imagine it for a moment.

"Do you imagine birthing them and holding them for the first time? Do you imagine me holding my child in my arms? Tell me, Nancy?" Nancy looked at him lost for a moment before she slowly nodded, "Do you imagine them running in the summer in our home? And, you calling for them to get some lemonade and get hydrated because they have run so much." Nancy at this point was getting very uncomfortable. She wonders if Damon imagines all of it. The details of his imagination were specific.

"Do you?" Nancy questioned back.

"I do. I do a lot of it." Damon kissed her deeply. And, when they pulled away Nancy looked at him with doubt in her eyes and asked, "And, what if..."

"Yes?" Damon encouraged her.

"What if I didn't get pregnant?" How her question made Damon's face hard Nancy regretted her question.

"Why did you have to do this? Why wouldn't you get pregnant? Do you know something I don't know..." Damon inquired getting his eyes narrowed but Nancy shook her head. "No, I only asked the question."

"Then, we will find a family with a cute baby boy and a girl. We will buy them or if they don't agree we will kill their family and get the kids." Nancy looked at him and waited for him to laugh as he usually does while making a dark joke.

"You didn't mean it." Nancy had to ask,

"I do, if you think of a family in the future, I must give it to you somehow. From where do you think we will get a family if you don't birth them? Do you have better plans?"

"You have other options." Nancy found herself defending the hypothetical children. Because in Damon's case, they won't be hypothetical anymore.

"Like what?" Damon asked,

"You can find another woman who can birth your children." This made Damon think for a moment before he said, "I don't think it is possible."

"Why?" Nancy asked,

"I don't think any other woman can get me hard now. You have ruined me, my Angel." Damon kissed her and came over to her in another moment.

"There is no such thing, right?" Nancy asked pulling away. "There sure is. Don't deny it. Or I will be hurt." And, before Nancy could see where it was going Damon was already helping her get off the dress.

Nancy adjusted herself more on the bed while Damon caged her in his arms and kissed her slowly. Damon raised his hand to get his shirt out but Nancy flinched a little making Damon stop.

"You are good?"

"Yes," Nancy instantly smiled making Damon gulp. "You don't trust me, right?"

"I do. Believe me, I do." Nancy gave him her best smile but Damon was quick to stop her by placing his finger on her mouth. "No, you listen to me. You have to believe me. Trust me." Nancy stared into his eyes for a moment without reacting and Damon raised his brows. As if he has realized that she can't fully trust him. "No, I can mess up big. Who am I kidding? Look, I can get mad. But this is what I am. Look, if you ever..." Damon seemed to be looking for the words for a moment before he said, "...ever get scared because of something I said and did. Just tell me. Talk to me." Nancy again tried to smile, "Of course, I will."

"Yes, you would do it. Communicate, right?" Damon asked and Nancy instantly nodded, "Good, you can talk to me. You don't have anyone else to talk to, right?"

Nancy bit her inner cheek fearing what he was thinking. His obsession about having all of her for him in all definitions was insane. "I don't have anyone." She found herself assuring him.

The next day, Damon told her that he had already planned the day. Nancy was wondering what are they to do when Damon took her to his study after breakfast. Damon unlocked the door of the study and guided her in. His hand was resting on Nancy's waist. Nancy at this point has made adjustments about the fact that he likes to keep her by his hand. She had slowly become comfortable after letting herself believe that he could practice some patience now when it came to her.

"This is awesome. The last time I didn't have time to compliment..." Nancy started but recalling the event Damon asked,

"How's your foot now?" Even though he could see she was walking fine by his side since yesterday.

"It is good,"

Damon smiled pulling her into a tight hug before he let go of her to look at the study. "Go on, have a look." Damon walked back to the door of the study and locked it

"Are we going to read something or what?" Nancy asked all the while walking to a bookshelf.

"Not exactly," Damon replied still waiting for her to take notice of something. But when she casually picked up the book, he smiled before he slowly walked to her back and got a hand on her waist again.

"You might like this one." Damon picked a book but it unraveled a secret door behind the study. Nancy who was taken up by the shelf moving gasped a little but Damon standing at her back helped her balance.

"It's nothing serious, it is what it is," Damon whispered in her ear.

"Yes, but what?" Nancy asked finding a long alley that had bunker cage wall lamps on both sides.

"Well, it is a secret door and a secret path that goes like how secret tunnels should."

"Does it open somewhere?" Nancy asked,

"It does, yes." Damon kept his answer short.

"So, what are we to do? Are we going to have a walk in there?" Nancy asked but Damon smiled. "Only if you want to."

Nancy couldn't help but recall how her dad had the same secret wall. And, the most security came from.

"If someone closes it from the inside. It can never be opened from here. It does give enough time to get away from whatever is coming. A car is parked when you exit it. With keys of course," Nancy knew this. Of course, a person like Damon could use something like this too. She had tried her best to act surprised without taking a moment. Looking at that horrible tunnel Nancy wonders if she again will find her in the same spot. The last time, she had her little brother with her to fend. Who will she have this time?

Nancy was having a lot of emotions at the moment when Damon added, "If something ever happens that requires you to flee. You can use it." This made Nancy stop breathing. Of course, it was all coming. They were never safe even when they could afford hundreds of guards.

Seeing Nancy already had little tears in her eyes Damon held her shoulders to him and looking at the tunnel he said, "You will never have to use this. I didn't show you this to make you think you aren't safe. Showing you this tunnel had another purpose." Nancy looked at him and asked, "What?" Her voice came out a little heavy.

"If you are someone I care about. Or I want to be safe. They know this way. And, my locker's password that is 5492," Nancy smiled a little listening to him. "Why are you telling me..." But before she could finish Damon instantly replied, "Because you are my wife. You should know. I would want you to know if something happens to me." Nancy recalled how he acted at the mention of her death. So, she instantly shook her head. "Don't say this. I don't want to lose you,"

"I know." Damon sighed looking at the tunnel. But the realization that its sight was disturbing Nancy, he covered it by pulling the door on.

"Don't think much about it. I guess it should be the last time I plan for the day. You look like I have ruined your whole week." Damon chuckled but his wife seemed to be lost in thoughts. Damon guided her to his chair behind the desk.

"Sit here," Nancy slowly took the chair and looked at the huge table before looking at him. "I think you should sit here." She seemed ready to stand up.

"You are my wife. You can be anywhere that's my place." Nancy was a little edgy about all the information he had shared with her.

"How do you feel having all the access to this information?" Damon smiled wanting to hear some praise.

"I feel you trust me," Nancy replied,

"I trust a lot of men from my security." Damon didn't have a smile on his face now. He didn't want this answer.

"Maybe love was the word I should have used," Damon nodded a little and walked away to make a glass of wine for Nancy. "That's right. It was the word I was looking for." Then, he turned around and added, "I love you, and I honour you because in the future I would want you to know how all of this works. Because you won't be mine until every fibre of your body isn't aligned with mine,..." He walked back to her and offered her the glass. Nancy accepted and Damon added, "In terms of thoughts, in terms of ways, and in terms of crimes, and power. I want people to only look at you and say she could only be Damon's woman,..." But when Damon noticed she hadn't even taken the glass to her mouth he held her wrist and gestured for her to take a sip.

Nancy took a sip and Damon added, "I am not the person who doesn't trust God. He exists. I didn't choose this life. He sent me to a position where morals aren't something you need to get by. This life isn't for the kind heart."

Damon walked into her space and leaned to the table. He was looking down at her for a long moment before he raised her chin with his index finger. "I only want all of this kindness for me. Only me. Because the moment you show your kind heart to anyone, they will chew your bones out."

"What does it mean? I don't think I am kind..."

"People you will meet standing by my side are Satan. Do you think you are getting any of it?" Damon pointed to what he was trying to say.

"I think so. You are quite clear." Nancy tried to look as if she was ready to follow any of his orders.

"I want you to empty your body as some vessel. And, let me pour myself into you. I want to look at you in the future and see nothing in there but me. I want a strong woman beside me."

"Am I not now?" Nancy tried to seem as if she was taking this conversation quite seriously.

"You have always been..." Damon takes the chance to compliment her before adding, "...but I am seeing a potential. And, I will help you get you to your full." Nancy smiled and held his hand off her chin before holding his hand to her chest. "If this is what you want me to be. This is what I will be."

Damon wonders if he should tell her that the reason he killed his previous partners was not about the cheating part only. Or having been caught cheating. But it was also because they knew too much to let go free. And, now she has started knowing too. But for the first time, Damon felt he wasn't playing blind. He was investing his emotions and efforts into a woman who had some morals.

Looking into Nancy's eyes made sense to everything. And, no matter how much he hated Robert for being right. He knew he was right when he said it was all about the type of woman he had been choosing so far. Damon was convinced it was the point of his life from where no storms would be coming in his love life. It will be as uncomplicated as this woman here. There was nothing he didn't know about her and there will be nothing she won't know about him.
