The gunshot on her arm had her whole arm soaking in blood. She whimpered in excruciating pain. Even the warm interior of the car wasn't enough to make her stop shivering. She wonders what he meant by what he said but then looking at her bleeding arm realizes she won't be living for long to realize.
She jumped the moment he got into the driving seat and looked at her. She tried to make more distance between them by plastering her back to the door.
Nancy couldn't stop looking at him. As if she couldn't blink. "What did you tell him? I will take care of Damon. Is this what you thought?" Nancy shook her head before pleading, "Please, let me go. I didn't know a thing. I am no one." She got her hand over her mouth. For a moment she wanted to open the door to run away. But twenty men outside his car was a bad idea.
He started the car the next moment and fearing where was he going she sobbed. "Where are you taking me? Please? Please..."
"I say you wanted my attention. Didn't you?" Damon smiled and Nancy was quick to shake her head but the moment his smile shrank she got still. "Well, this is what you have gotten, angel."
Nancy's head started going heavy. She wonders if she has lost all the blood in her body until now.
She winced opening her eyes and tried to resist in her capacity when someone tried to pull her out of the car. "We are sleepy, huh?" Her blood froze realizing who was talking to her and holding her wrist.
"Please,..." She tried to move her feet but those were still bound. Her whole body was heaving in fear now. She couldn't think straight let alone make any words except. "...Please,....please."
Damon pulled her as if she weighed nothing. She fell on the road with her face taking the impact of the rough road.
"Oh did it hurt? Let me pick you up." Damon took a handful of her hair and jolted her up but when he noticed her feet still bound he picked her over his shoulder again.
Nancy found herself in front of the same torture cell again. Two men standing outside the building opened the gates. Nancy looked at the doors closing when Damon took her in. She had her one hand clutched over the back of his jacket fearing the height. Her silent screams were stifled with fear.
"Let me go," Her voice barely audible.
The place wasn't well lighted. And, it had thick cigarette smoke mixed with an air freshener. Damon didn't have to wait at the end of the hallway. Two men had already opened the huge elevator doors and one of them got into the elevator.
The man waited for Damon's order who grunted pinching Nancy's ass. "My playroom,"
Nancy didn't care much at this point. She looked at her injured arm which felt wasted at the moment. She worried that she had lost her limb.
Why? Why did you do this, Ken? She promises even her ghost will never forgive Ken. Not for once, he thought about his sister. Nancy tried to move the fingers of the injured arm but it pained like hell making her whimper. She wonders how much dying will hurt.
The elevator door opened and Damon walked into his personal torture room drowned in red light. Nancy felt the devil's strong hand on her waist as he pulled her to his front. A smile etched to his lips before he pushed her with all his strength. Nancy was ready for the pain but the fall never came. Instead, two men caught her shoulders in the middle of her falling. The moment was short-lived because they soon started dragging her away. "What? Please, let me go." She was hysterical at this point. They removed her button-up shirt that had previously lost almost all of its buttons before fixing her wrists up on the hook.
"Why...why are you doing this to me? Please, I...I need a doctor or I will bleed out." Damon walked to her and shook his head in disappointment. "I don't think so. It seems you aren't bleeding any more. And, we have only started. Don't ruin it for us. Will you?"
"Please, let me go. Please."
"Come on, I took you carrying all the way here to my playroom..." He said the last word in a little whisper and then walked to her. "...to play with you...angel"
"Please,..." Tears started dripping down as she started sobbing.
"Come on, don't do it. Stop crying like a child. It is easy, unlike the popular opinion. But this way you won't let me start." Nancy looked at him. Her gaze held only one emotion. And, it was fear. She was tasting the worst kind of pain in her life and feared the worst.
"What is your name?"
"Nan...nancy..." Nancy was alert. Her fear had gotten the best of her. She didn't know what they were going to do to her.
"I don't think it is just Nancy."
"Nancy Walter."
Damon looked at the man standing behind Nancy's left side and said. "Nice name we got here. Don't we? Miss Walter." Nancy's lower lip shivered looking at a vein popping. Damon seemed to be caging his anger. One could see he was trying his best to stay cool to lose it all in the next.
"For how long you have been here, Miss Walter."
"For a while," Nancy replied and the man standing to her right was about to punch her but Damon held his fist taking all the impact on his wrist. "What are you doing? Miss Walter is new at this." Saying this he inched even closer and held her neck. Their mouths were only an inch apart. Nancy looked at his mouth too and her chest gave in to a new pressure. "Miss Walter, try to be specific in your answer as much as you can. Or you can get hurt..."
"A few years...a..." Nancy closed her eyes and tried to recall. "Ten years..."
"And, where were you before that?" Nancy closed her eyes wondering what she could tell him.
Get your enemy to talk to you. If your enemy is talking to you and isn't impulsive in anger. Listen to him. Talk to him more. Give him the questions you want to answer and dissipate his emotions. Then offer him something that can be tempting for him. Her father's voice rang in her head.
She looked at him wondering what he had asked. "I...What did you ask? Don't hurt me." This time Nancy tries her best to sound in distress. So, he buys it and doesn't get mad at her for not listening to him.
"We were playing a game, Miss Nancy. Did you forget? I question and you answer..." This time he yanked her hair in an attempt to wake her up from her daze.
"Oh please, I will be more careful." It was her way of telling him that she was awake now.
"Good, where were you before that."
"My brother and I crossed borders from Russia. In an attempt to have a good life in US. But things were hard and we got stuck here."
"Any family here? Your parents must have sent you to someone here. Someone must have helped you." Nancy knew he was known to kill friends and family and now was trying to prey on her social circles. Nancy was quick to shake her head. "My dad said he will see me here but I never get to see him. I settled with Ken here thinking one day I will see my father..." Nancy had tears filling her eyes at this point. One could tell she was missing her old life.
"What's with your dress up? Why does everyone think you were brother to Ken?"
"I...I had crossed the border in this attire. It was very unfortunate for the women trying to pass the border. I crossed the border and realized I had to keep posing as a man if I wanted to get a job." This made Damon to smile. "Who are you lying to? You know you would have gotten nice jobs. Women aren't forced here to sell their selves."
"What about those who are without a father, and husband? Besides men are offered a good salary and I had a brother to raise." Damon nodded his head. "Fair enough. A man would have claimed you. And, kept you and your brother loyal to me. Look, this is what we get with women raising the children alone. Chaos. Utter chaos." Nancy couldn't help the whimper and moved her face away. And, this made Damon hold her face to him. She pleaded but only with her eyes this time. And, didn't dare to utter a single word.
"Miss. Walter, this is going to get real now. Who were you fucking? Who knows about you being a woman? I want everyone's name." This made Nancy shake her head. "No one, as far as I am aware. No one. Sir." A smile spread on Damon's face. She could see he didn't have anger on his face anymore. He was amused. She wasn't anything Aria was. And, there was a huge chance she wasn't what he looked into the woman. But she had to have something to offer to him.
"Now, your last question. A very important one. You could answer so many and recall a lot. I hope you give your best to this one." Nancy knew what he was going to ask and shook her head violently.
"Where is your brother? Where did he go with Aria?" Nancy opened her mouth but then bit her lower lip shaking her head. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she sobbed.
"A satisfactory answer can get you a quick death. And, an unsatisfactory one can get your hand minced in a chopper while it is still on your wrist..." Nancy sobbed looking at him and pleaded silently. "...anyway you have. It will make my night."
That was the dead end. And, she had nothing to offer except for.
"I promise I will be loyal to you. I can serve you. I can...I can..." She noticed a man going away to get God knows what. And, it only made Nancy more desperate. "...I can cook for you. I will tell you if my brother ever contacted me. I will kill him for you. What good did he give him? I pulled long shifts so he never went hungry and he deserted me. I am betrayed like you. Can't you see? He won't even blink if you kill me. Damon, I can pick heavy stuff. I have been picking heavy loads for a long time. I can work for you, man. I was able to get away from your men right in front of your home. For ten years I was living in your city and no one could tell I was a woman. Please, please...give me a chance. Try me!" Damon's expression only got harder when he held her neck.
"The last thing I want from a woman is their loyalty." He gritted against her mouth before jerking her away.
"My loyalty isn't a woman's loyalty. My loyalty will..."
"You are a pathetic piece of shit scared of death."
"I don't fear death but I do fear losing my hand, Sir. Don't take my hand from me. And, if I feared death I hadn't chosen to live in a sin city hoping I could one day get to see my father. I am a strong person, unlike the popular opinion." Nancy tried to sell herself to him but in front of her was the man who was too angry to believe mere words.
"What should I get from you is not the kind of choice you get to make when you are here..." But then he smiled looking right through her. "...I am not the kind of person you can manipulate Miss Walter."
"But you are the kind of person who tortures a woman for something she hasn't done. And, keep her hands bound above her head and threaten her and torture her and stare at her like she is some piece of meat. It is enough to tell me what kind of person you are..." Damon was quick to hold her neck and pressed on her windpipe.
"You want to know what kind of man am I? I am a dirty man. Aria didn't go away for nothing. You will live Nancy..." He let go of her neck and she fought for the air. Her mind had lost focus when he asked. "...you want to play this game. I will give you an entertaining one."
Damon turned around to leave and Nancy looked at the two men closing on her. "No, don't leave me here, Damon. Kill me but don't throw me for your men. I am not for this."
"I thought you would do anything I want." Damon gave her a cocky grin. But only she could see he was beyond mad. None of her tricks had worked.
"Not this, I am no slut. So, you better not treat me like one." She wasn't playing anymore. She was disgusted at what kind of situation she had gotten herself into.
"You will feel like one once they are finished with you." He took a step back without turning around. All the while looking right into her eyes.
"I will be anything you want Damon but not this. I am not made for this."
"You talk like you know what you were made for."
"I don't have anything to offer you. You are right. I can only offer my loyalty and my strength. And, hope that you accept it."
"What use a woman can be for me if she can't serve my men? Or clean."
"I can clean. I will clean all the corners squeaky clean if this is what you want."
"That won't be enough. We get it done here by a lot of people." He replied amused.
"I can be of other use."
"And, what that could be Miss Walter."
"I can tell you. But your men have to leave." Nancy didn't have anything in her mind up until this point. But she knew her proposition had to be as wild as it could get.
Damon motioned for his men to leave and then realized she did get him to follow somehow. The door clicked in the room indicating everyone had left. "What is your proposition, Miss Walter."
Nancy didn't make him wait when she said, "Marry me." Only two words were enough to put Damon in the sheer amount of anger and surprise.
Did she think he was out of options for someone to marry him? And, was indeed surprised by where she could get the strength to offer such a proposition. She deserved pain for ever disrespecting him like that. She was nothing. Yet!
He fisted his palms and asked. "How dare you disrespect me like that?" Damon lessened the distance between them. He yanked her face to make her look at him. He had to make sure that she knew who she was talking to.
"I will be the best wife you will ever have."
"And, what makes you the best."
"That's for my husband to know." Damon raised his brows and tried to look surprised. "Really?" She knew how to hold the talk. Even though he could see right through her intention he had to give her this compliment. This little shit knew how to talk.
Damon strikes her across her face. "Ah,..." Before he gritted.
"I can know all I want right here."
"There's more to my body. And, you know this Damon."
"I have killed most of my partners."
"I have heard the worst." Nancy's sore arms were shivering at this point but she didn't let her voice waver.
"Why should I marry you when I can keep you against your will and can make you do anything I want you to do." And, for the first time, Damon looked like he was really talking to her. He wasn't mocking her. He was talking to her.
"For sparing my life, I can work for you but it can't involve any sexual favours. The moment you disrespect my body I will try to run. But if you keep me with a marriage. You will have all the rights a man should have. I will never run from my husband. I will be in for better or worse. I am that kind of woman. I promise." A long five minutes passed between them. For better or wose she said. He wanted to see how far her resolve could go if he only makes it worse all the time. Will she stay if he keeps giving her every reason to make her go run for her life. Then, what kind of woman will she be? That will be an interesting question to ask.
"That game was a bad idea. I should have never let you speak. You better keep amusing me, angel. Because the moment I forgot why I let you live will be your last moment." Damon untied her hands from the hook above and Nancy lost consciousness in his arms.
