"What have we done?" Nancy whispered to herself. She held her head and took her time to line up the things in her head she should be worried about now. And, for the first, it was the fact that they had started the war. And, the bloodshed was inevitable. And, now thinking about all of it she wonders if she was worth all of it.

Nothing was going to remain the same. There was going to be a huge hollow in the shift of power and there was no way she was prepared to hold it together or fill it. Todorov was going to be mad forever. Fyodor though yield a great influence and power through his connections with Russian government he was an outsider. But Raya? She was from a family. She was blood related to Todorov family. Even though Raya was a distant cousin to Ruslan Todorov, the head of the Todorov family, they weren't going to let it slide. The Todorov family too were enjoying a strong influence in the Russian region through Fyodor's hold. Todorov's family had never ended uncles, cousins and relatives. Nancy believed it was all her mistake. She shouldn't have stroked Damon's ego a lot last night. She could lose the sense of the thread of reality and sway in emotions. But Damon? He was supposed to keep his brain intact. Why did he do this? Nancy was still lost in her thoughts when she heard Robert say.

"I don't remember if we had killed someone from someone's family. It is the first time for us." Robert walked in and it was the first thing that he talked about.

Nancy couldn't help but ask. "Are you too worried about Raya's death?" Nancy asked and Robert nodded, "Yeah, but I can see from where Damon is coming with this one. If we were to sign a peace treaty with the Todorov family in the future Raya would have posed a barrier to it. Because it was her husband we had killed. She should follow her husband."

Nancy believed it made sense. Also, Fyodor and Raya cared about no one while executing their plans. Nancy looked at Robert who seemed to be more happy than worried. "What are you thinking about?" Nancy asked,

"Seven hundred and twenty-eight hills with natural gases," Robert replied with a grin. Nancy shook her head but did find it humorous when she told Robert. "They aren't going to hand it over to you on a plate. I am sure the Russian government will pose a huge threat to Andersons now. Whatever we have done right now is not really worth it if you think about it."

"Yes, it is," Damon walked in with a bottle of wine in his hand. His hand gestured Robert to leave. The maids followed Robert too.

"Why? I didn't use the gun because I did feel the weight on my shoulders. I was angry and emotional. I get it. And, I would have come around a few days later. Last night, I said all of it to vent off. I had to vent off to someone." Nancy didn't know where to find the words to explain this to him.

"I wanted you to shoot him. And, I had planned all of it if you choose to shoot him." Damon replied with calm.

"But I didn't. I too realized it was too much for the revenge. So, why did you?..." Damon cut her off with. "He looked at you,"

Damon got busy with opening the wine bottle while Nancy asked, "He looked at me? When?"

"I looked at him look at you. The look." Damon told her.

"You killed him because he looked at me," Nancy asked,

"Yes, and I realized you were going to sign instead of shooting him. I wasn't going to shoot him either. But then he had to look at you. Perhaps, you reminded him of his previous wife, Leslie. I could see in his eyes. He was fucking you with his eyes. So, I had to shoot him."

Nancy stared at Damon. She was having a hard time believing it. But when Damon asked her, "Why didn't you tell me he offered you a marriage right after killing your father?" Nancy widened her eyes. "How do you know this?"

"I know this because last night Raya and her husband were fighting over this fact. Raya saw Fyodor looking at you and it would have reminded her of the past." Damon said filling the glass of wine for her.

"This is absurd." Nancy tried to brush it off.

"No, you tell me. Is it correct or not?" Damon asked making Nancy go silent for a moment before she said, "It is. But I thought he would kill my brother if I didn't run away."

"Do you know what it means?" Damon asked but Nancy shook her head. "He still didn't have Ivanov's child from your aunt's womb." This made Nancy recall the ten-year-old boy who they are referring to as Ivanov's heir.

"Are you going to kill Fyodor's child?" Nancy asked but Damon got his hard face on before he told her. "It doesn't concern you. If we didn't question the relationship of that child with your aunt, Todorov would take over your father's region mentioning they are close relatives who mean no harm and would take care of the estate until he doesn't grow up.

Nancy shook her head, "But they don't. Raya was a stepmother to that boy." Nancy raised her question.

But Damon smiled as if he had solved the puzzle, "Or maybe his real mother. In that case, he is no part Ivanov."

"This is complicated. But it is true. I never once saw my aunt pregnant or heard of it."

Damon smiled at his wife's naivety. "The word complicate doesn't even start to explain it, Nancy. We are at fucking war. We did all of it in Todorov's soil. In their sin city. We killed Raya Todorov on her soil with her husband who was the right hand for the Russian government."

"I feel responsible for all of it," Nancy whispered gulping the drink. She thought about it for a moment before she asked Damon. "But what would be our way to get our influence back?"

"For now, I guess the Russian government would take over all your father's belongings. I think we will try to work on weakening the Russian government just as good U.S. men should."

Nancy smiled shaking her head. "I wonder how they would treat my father's possession while it is under their care. I wish I could do something about it." Nancy said before her eyes got filled with water. She was too uncertain about the future. But for now, they would be lucky if they could ship from Eastern Europe to the West.

"Where are we going?" Nancy asked to which Damon came ahead to hold Nancy close to him, "I thought a few days in Italy wouldn't hurt. Our guards and maids are happy listening to Italy. Some of them are going there for the first time."

"I wish I was more capable to handle my father's estate." Nancy gulped on the drink. Her eyes seemed to be sparkling with tears.

Damon nodded before he said, "You are capable of something though," And, Nancy got attentive. "What?"

"Birth me a son who is half Ivanov. If we don't own it someone else will. And, regions don't forget who came to plunder it. If we have plundered it, we better try to get it too."

"But what about the Russian government..." Nancy asked to which Damon smiled, "Until yesterday, they were standing with Fyodor because he tried to claim it all by presenting his son as the heir. When I will claim it for my son, they will be my friends. Until my son is a little older, I will work on getting Russian weaker with each passing day. I am not an outsider like Fyodor. They will have their interests involved when they would get to know about who is Dimitri Ivanov's father."

"Dimitri?" Nancy asked narrowing her eyes.

"Yes, we will name him on your father's name." Nancy held Damon's hand and was quick to apologize. "I am sorry about the last night." But Damon shook his head. "No, no, you don't have to apologize. I am doing it for myself."

"I know you didn't have to get involved in this. You had enough of power and influence. I know you didn't want to get into this."

"I couldn't certainly lose your regard for me. Also, we did give Fyodor a chance. But he had to change things by looking at you. Bastard, he must have been thinking he was winning while in the next he was going to lose his life." Damon laughed as if he had cracked a joke but Nancy didn't find it humorous. She knew a kid had lost his parents today. A family had lost their daughter today. Even though they deserved every bit of it and even worse she knew she couldn't at least laugh at it.

It was quite dark when they reached Italy. Nancy heard Damon talking to Robert about how no one should know that they are in Italy because the Todorov family must have been doing their best to know about their current location.

Nancy wonders if it was the last time she was staying in Italy. Because they will always be more secure in the US where they have their main territory than in Europe.

Nancy met the butler in the Italian estate right away and asked him to host all of the guards and maids who had accompanied them quite well. The air was rich with the vine but Nancy couldn't help crave the morning light. So, she could enjoy looking at this beautiful estate in the daylight.

Damon was busy discussing some matters with Robert. It was past three in the morning when he walked into his bedroom. "Why aren't you sleeping?" Damon didn't like her awake at this hour.

"Maybe for the same reasons you aren't asleep." Nancy straightens herself. She could smell cigarettes a mile away from Damon.

Nancy couldn't help but feel the need to apologize for hiding the truth about her identity. "I am sorry. I am sorry for keeping it from you. I swear I didn't know how to tell you all about this," Damon smiled at her cute face and walked to her side before hugging her to him. "Don't worry. Believe me, one way or another it would have gone down the same way. It doesn't matter at the moment." Nancy pulled away to look at him. "So, you aren't mad at me."

Damon chuckled coming at her now. "Why would I be mad at you?" Nancy got him in her arms and gulped before apologizing. "I misunderstood you," Damon smiled trying to keep it to himself that she didn't misunderstand him. He didn't want her to be Ivanov. A surname that will demand a lot from her now. And, would keep her away from him at times. He only wanted her to be Mrs Anderson and nothing else. But all he could manage to say right now was.

"It's fine. Never do it again."

"I will never do it again," Nancy replied sniffing into his neck. Damon rubbed his hands at her sides before kissing her hair.

"Why? All of this is to keep you happy. I want the happy Nancy now." Damon asked rubbing her tear away from her cheek. Nancy nodded before telling him. "I don't have to be away from you. Or be anything you don't want me to be. We can give it all to my brother. He can deal with it and we can avoid getting into it." Damon pulled away slowly and nodded. "Great, I didn't think of it."

Nancy smiled a little before she said, "Me too, but now I think it will be better if Ken handles it." At this point, Damon wonders how innocent his wife is. She really believed that Robert, all of his guards and he had pushed themselves into regional tension that was to last for nearly a decade or two to hand it over all to her drug-addict brother.

Damon took his moment before he said, "I let him go. I will have to locate him first before we can think further over this." This made Nancy think of something. "We should hurry. What if the Todorov family killed Ken." And, Damon looked at her surprised. He knew exactly who to blame if her brother Ken's body was found years later or never.

"I agree, I will ask Robert to contact the person he had contacted to offer Ken a job." The mention brought a smile to Nancy's face. "You even arranged a job for him. Oh Damon, sometimes you surprise me."

"Do I?..." Damon asked kissing her head again. "...thank you, thank you so much," Damon whispered and wondered if his wife was stupid or if her trust in him made her blind an eye from his side. No matter, the reason he knew she should never lose this trust in him. And, he could give anything for this but would refuse to lose his pearl from his hands.
