It was after two days when Damon and Nancy returned to Alaska with all of their guards and maids. The news that Damon Anderson's new wife turns out to be the lost Ivanov princess spreads like wildfire in all of the families. Damon knew they had to offer a statement to state their side of the story for the sake of their sanity. Or the number of calls and letters they were receiving couldn't be counted.

Selena was sitting with Nancy on the patio. A maid was making the barbecues while Eliza was making incoherent loud sounds of joy or sometimes wonder. She loved sitting out with her mother Selena.

"She is such a lovely baby." Nancy complimented.

"Yes, she is being very active nowadays," Selena replied,

Nancy asked Selena to eat when another maid served them tea and cake. "I meant to come to see you but I thought you must be tired with all those flights," Selena stated the reason for her visit.

Nancy smiled before tilting her head. "Don't worry I have had my rest."

"That's good. Robert wanted to talk about what had happened but only listening to the part where you faced open bullets got me to stop him. Did you..." Selena paused for a little. "...did you see all of it?"

Nancy nodded, "Yes,"

"I heard about what happened to your family. And, I am really sorry about that. It must have been difficult to live here on the streets..." Selena got silent for a moment before she asked, "...why didn't you live somewhere else when you knew what living here meant?" Selena asked to which Nancy shook her head.

"I got used to it. Also, Fyodor would have looked for me anywhere but here." Nancy found a trace of worry on Selena's face. "Robert always spoked so high of Fyodor. I could never imagine he could do something so cruel." Nancy smiled and chose not to tell her that Fyodor was in close contact with Robert and Damon at that time. And, even told them to have a look out for her and her brother.

Selena was from the outside world and Nancy had noticed how Robert tried to manipulate Selena into thinking that he had to be with Damon because he couldn't leave him.

Maybe it was Nancy's false observation but it feels like it. Nancy looked at the little Eliza and wondered what kind of woman she would be in Selena's hands. Because it wasn't the first time, she had heard that Selena couldn't stand the mention of murder and bullets.

But then realizing Eliza was an Anderson Nancy knew Robert would make sure to condition his daughter to survive in these surroundings. Selena watched Robert walking to them from afar. She asked her nanny to hold Eliza and stood up to walk to Robert. Only a little while later Damon parked his car in the driveway and walked to them too. Nancy remained in her seat and waited for Damon to reach her. Damon lowered himself to her face and kissed her cheek before asking. "How are you feeling?"

"I am good. How many calls did you get today?" Nancy asked to which Damon's face got hard. "I don't want to talk about it." He replied,

Robert and Selena were walking to them. Robert leaned over Selena so he could hear what she was talking about. Robert first walked to the maid who was holding Eliza and got his daughter in his hands.

Damon had already taken a chair beside Nancy. Robert looked at Nancy and told her. "We have prepared to release our side of the story to all the representatives of the families. And, also to the Russian officials who were working closely with Fyodor."

"What does our release say?" Nancy asked to which Damon looked at Robert. "He has prepared it."

"Well, it says that Damon married Nancy Ivanov fully aware that she was the lost princess of Ivanov lineage. And, Nancy on the other hand wished to take back her father's prestige by placing herself in her right place. But Fyodor fearing upsetting Anderson offered a peace treaty because he had lost a lot of money and his resources in the ongoing regional tension. So, he couldn't afford to mess with Andersons and tried to offer an official apology along with the peace treaty..." Nancy realized they couldn't let anyone know that they didn't know it all already. It made sense.

While Robert kept detailing, "...Damon and his wife chose to talk about peace because they too didn't want any sudden change and tensions between the families and businesses of the region. But in the meeting, Raya got violent seeing her husband bewitched by Nancy's beauty. She tried to raise a gun at Nancy and Damon had to shoot her to protect his pregnant wife. The situation escalated and Fyodor had to follow his wife because he tried to pull the gun out too. Andersons believe it was an unfortunate event but they will have to challenge Fyodor's heir's authority on the Ivanov family because Lady Nancy Anderson is convinced that her aunt was never once seen pregnant. The kid had to undergo a DNA test to prove his claim on some some part of the Ivanov estate." Robert took a seat and wondered if he had forgotten anything but then told her. "That's about it,"

Damon looked at Nancy to measure her expressions but she seemed calm holding her cup of tea when she said, "Did you use the same prose? It must have ended in one single page." Damon smiled making Robert laugh too. "No, Miss Ivanov, my lawyer used his language. It is going to be thirty-eight pages long letter."

"It should be," Nancy said looking at Damon who pressed her wrist. Nancy looked at Damon and smiled. "I think I will retire to the bed. Selena? It was so good seeing you. I am sorry I had thought about buying something for Eliza but we were always on the go."

"Don't worry, we know your gifts would make up for the lost time," Robert mentioned making Damon laugh a little.

Nancy stood up to share a side hug with Selena before she walked inside with Damon. Passing the main hall Damon stopped Nancy holding her elbow. Nancy turned around and tried to look something at his face. But he wasn't giving away anything. "What?" Nancy had to ask.

"There is bad news," Damon told her. Nancy narrowed her eyes. "What?"

"Yes," Damon replied,

"I get it but what?" Nancy asked again to which he replied, "I can't tell you like this. The doctor has asked me to prepare you for this bad news."

Nancy narrowed her eyes and asked. "And, how are you going to do it?"

"By telling you that there is some grave news but I will tell you in a day or two so your body can absorb it well and is better prepared for it." Nancy looked at him surprised.

"What? I am sure it is no bad news. You are here with me and I see you healthy and standing on your two feet. I am sure nothing had happened." Her reply did make Damon's heart swell with love but he had to keep his expressions under check if he wanted to convey the news of Ken's death to Nancy.

"Well, a lot had happened." Damon's voice took Nancy's breath away. She held Damon's big hands and asked, "Like what?"

"I will tell you about it tomorrow morning. After we are finished with breakfast. You are booked for a meeting with me in my study, Miss Ivanov." Nancy narrowed her eyes.

"Don't call me that," Nancy told him but Damon smiled. "Why? We have done a lot to earn you a name. At least, let us savour it."

"Why can't you tell me right away?" Nancy asked to which Damon told her all the while picking her in his arms. "Because this is not business time. I am home and I want my lady Anderson back, Miss Ivanov,"

Nancy believed it was for the better that Damon was trying to keep her from the stress. Maybe it was in the best interest of her and her baby that she let it go too. She recalled one of Damon's saying of how they only have today in their hands. Or maybe she should cherish today before tomorrow takes her with the bad news.

Damon appreciated how Nancy didn't talk about any of the stuff they had gotten themselves into. At the dinner table, Nancy had asked the maid for some Russian cuisine.

"Today, I asked the staff to prepare a Russian cuisine. You want to try it." Nancy asked Damon with a content smile.

Damon looked at it but refused to taste it stating. "I think I have enough of Russian stuff going around." Nancy didn't like his comment and told him. "I am Russian. And, you knew this when we got married."

"I never looked at you as a Russian woman at that time. You said you crossed borders for a better life. I believed you wanted to be from here." Damon replied. Nancy didn't know where this conversation was going but she had her mood spoiled already.

Nancy looked at him and picked a spoonful of the mutton rice and served it on his plate. Damon shocked at her manners looked at her before announcing, "Everyone out,"

Damon was convinced his staff had a hard time containing their laugh. "What was that?" Damon asked looking at the plate that he believed Nancy had ruined.

"I am preparing you. You are going to have a child who is going to be half-Russian. He is going to speak Russian, live most of his life the Russian way and probably marry a Russian woman." Nancy almost yelled.

"You could have done all of it the other way," Damon suggested.

"And, you told me to check my manners in the staff's presence. And, if you want me to take care of my manners you should look at what you are saying and doing," Nancy tried to reason.

"What did I do to provoke you?" Damon inquired.

"You looked at my choice of food and couldn't keep your thoughts to yourself. You could have declined my offer for Russian food nicely." Nancy leaned into her chair and refused to look at her plate.

Damon picked up the spoon and chewed on the rice before he said, "I think I will come to love Russian food..." Damon picked up Nancy's plate and emptied it on his plate. "And, what can be nicer than having a Russian woman after a Russian meal." Nancy looked at him and rolled her eyes telling him. "I swear my baby will come out looking like me. A Russian..."

"And, I will protect it anyway," Damon replied,

The words got Nancy in completely other worries. "Isn't it strange that I can't deny it? My kid would need protection more than he would want love."

But Damon scoffed at the mention. "This is ridiculous. Nothing is happening to my wife and my child. Even if I have to kill one hundred and eighty members of the Todorov family. Then, they can wander around and see who would sit at their head position but I will kill them too. They can go fuck with whoever they want but I will kill all of them again and again..." Nancy got scared when Damon stood up and walked around the dining area. She wonders if she has gotten him angry again by showing her lack of trust in his abilities with her worries. Nancy realized she should have known better than to make him worry.

Damon was standing in front of his huge window now. Nancy stood up and walked after him. "I am sorry. I am really sorry," Nancy placed her hand on his shoulder and Damon was quick to turn around and hold her. "You are safe here. I will move the world around but I will keep you safe here."

Nancy held Damon's face in her hands before she whispered, "I know, I know..." Nancy looked at him but all of a sudden wondered how the mention of the Todorov family came up. She never mentioned them. "What did the Todorov family do?" Nancy asked to which Damon narrowed his eyes. "What?" He tried to dismiss but knew his wife was an intelligent woman.

"I asked if the bad news was related to the Todorov family."
