It's been two months since I told Santiago and I'm about fifteen weeks now. My baby bump is obviously starting to show a lot quicker than most people's because there's two in there.
Me and Santiago have been practically inseparable, we spend all most every hour of everyday either at the beach, on hikes, painting or binge watching the vampire diaries with a truck load of snacks.
My brother's were obviously alarmed when they found out that we'd been spending so much time together, especially Romeo but they brushed it off once they saw how much better I was doing.
I've kind of been in a rush to sort my life out before the babies get here.
I've recently been going to therapy, trying to get out as much as possible in nature and even eating healthily. Santiago's been cooking me homemade recipes that are supposed to be good for the babies every night as well as waiting on me hand and foot.
We still haven't told my brothers, we've been too busy basking in the bliss of our relationship. But we've decided we're going to tell them soon because it's becoming too tedious to sneak around.
It's unfair the he can't even sleep in my bed because my brothers will most definitely find out and kill him.
I sit on my wooden floors, painting pieces of canvas that I want to display in the nursery when we get it ready. Santiago and the boy's went to play basketball on the court in the backyard, they did invite me to come but I've been feeling off all day so I declined.
Realising I need more paint, I stand up but I immediately have to grab onto the wall when my eyes turn blurry. I stand still for a minute, trying to regain composure but my brain remains foggy.
I dizzily walk to the hallway, knocking a plant off my dresser as I do so. I wobble down the hall, trying to get to Santiago but I soon realise that I'm not going to make it all the way down stairs.
My head spins as I weakly lift up my hand and knock on the closest door, Lorenzo's office. I hear him call out for me to come in but my brain won't move my legs like I want it to. I stand behind his door, swaying side to side as it opens.
I can't fully make out Lorenzo's figure as I hear the muffled sounds of him saying something but I do feel him grab onto me as I topple to the ground.
"That's right run away just because you're losing," Romeo taunts as I step off the court to answer my phone.
Seeing that the caller is Lorenzo I immediately pick up, confused because he normally texts. "Yeah?" I ask. The last thing in the world I expected to hear was the sound of him crying.
"Lorenzo what's happened?" I ask, now extremely alert. Everyone is now looking at me, sensing my panic.
"She just fell and now she's shaking I don't know what to do," He urgently rushes out, barely making any sense.
I don't have to ask him to know that he's talking about Darcy, nobody else could get this type of reaction from him.
"Lorenzo listen, it sounds like she's having a seizure you need to make sure there's nothing around her, especially her head okay?" I explain as I run off towards the house.
The boys are following me and asking me what's happened but I'm solely focused on getting to Darcy.
I run the fastest I've ever ran in my entire life, making it to his office in under a minute. I swing the door open as my eyes make contact with the scene in front of me. Lorenzo is desperately holding onto Darcy who is violently shaking in his arms.
"Help her, make it stop!" He pleads with me once he spots me in the doorway.
The boys finally catch up and look in horror at the sight before them. Romeo and Santiago try to push through but I hold them back.
"You have to lay her down and back away from her," I tell Lorenzo calmly, thankful that I remember what to do in chases of seizers from med school.
"Lorenzo," I repeat when I see him make no effort to let her go. He sends me a look that let's me know that if I tell him to step away from her again he'll kill me.
"Let me through," Santiago pleads but I ignore him, knowing a crowded room won't help Darcy at all.
"Lorenzo you need to tell me how long it's been," I demand. "What?" He asks, not taking his eyes off of Darcy.
"You need to tell me how long she's been like this," I clarify. "I-I don't know four minutes maybe." He replies unsurely.
Merda. I know anything over a minute is harmful.
We can do nothing but watch her struggle, the feeling of uselessness becoming unbearable. Another thirty seconds passes before she finally stops, falling limp in Lorenzo's arms. He makes no effort to move, being in shock is preventing him from thinking clearly.
I swiftly grab her out of his hands and push past the boys, running to our fastest car. "Alonzo!" I shout behind me, knowing he's the fastest driver.
Alonzo races down the drive with Dante in the passenger as me, Angelo and Santiago sit in the back with Darcy laid out on top of us. Santiago literally had to fight with Romeo to get a spot in this car, I know they're friends and all but it's a bit strange that he thinks he should take priority over Darcy's actual family.
We make it to the hospital in record time, I'm genuinely surprised we didn't get into a high speed police chase with the way we were driving.
"She's had a seizure, over five minutes long," I explain to the doctor as I gently place her on the gurney.
"We'll have to give her anti-seizure medicine," She explains before pulling out a pen and writing on her clipboard. "Has she had any history of seizures?" She asks.
My brain flashes back to that conversation we had with our doctor back at the base when Darcy first returned back to us. She said that due to the torture she had endured, it was most likely that she had been experiencing seizers but we've never seen it happen until now.
Unsure of what to say, I just nod.
"Okay is she on any other prescribed medicine or is there any possibility that she's pregnant as both of these can effect how her body reacts to this medicine," She asks routinely.
"No and no," I reply. I watch her write on her clipboard before getting ready to wheel Darcy off. I turn to face my brothers who all have the same concerned look on their face, all except Angelo.
He's silently staring at Santiago who's staring right back at him. They both look torn, as if they're having a silent argument.
Santiago shakes his head as Angelo turns to look down the hall. "Wait!" He calls out to the doctor who is already half way down the hall. She turns around and looks at him expectantly.
"She's pregnant."
