"You are the fabled monster hunter!" It was Royal Margarine Cookie. "Sweet Pinkyberry Cookie, whose strength is only rivalled by her beauty! At night, your pink visage haunts my dreams, and at dawn, I wake up with your sweet name on my lips..."
Did he really have to be this flirty? It almost seems as if he's trying to swoon all the ladies in Dragon City! Let's just hope he doesn't target me....
Pitaya Cookie scoffed at the way Royal Margarine Cookie spoke. "Pink... visssage?! Sssweet name...? HA HA HA HA HA HA!"
I playfully rolled my eyes with a giggle as I took into a bite of a snack I kept in my bag. It was better than the soup, to be honest.
"Y/N Cookie'sss name isss better, changed or not!"
I immediately spat out the bite of my snack I had and coughed wildly. P/N sniffed the chewed up bits, then backed up and gagged.
Wildberry grumbled. ".... Quiet, Pitaya Cookie."
"So what do you say?" Royal Margarine Cookie continued. "Will you join me for a ride on my cute wy- I mean dragon! The blue sky might be a nice break from this stuffy inn."
Pitaya Cookie stared at him, still chuckling at his personality. I lightly hit him in the arm, not wanting too much attention to be drawn to us than it already has.
"Hey-"
"Shut it."
"HA HA HA!!!" Hollyberry Cookie cheerfully laughed. "Dragon-riding, you say! That might be pretty fun!"
Pitaya Cookie suddenly lazily picked me up and scoffed: "I can just ssspin you around, and that could be real dragon-riding..!"
"Because you're actually a dragon..?" I lifted an eyebrow.
"Yep."
"How wonderful! I tooootallyyy didn't know that!!! Omg..." I smiled sarcastically.
"OK, now you're the one who needsss to shut up."
"No."
"Grr..."
We continued to bicker while I acted so sweet and innocent, annoying Pitaya horribly, until something caught his attention.
"??? Doesss thisss mean there were more Cookiesss who ssspoke Dragontoungue?"
"You seriously need to tell me more about your kind."
"Later, when you're less ssstupid, which will be never... heheh."
I slapped his hands in anger. "I AM NOT STUPID!"
"Sssmall Cookiesss are ssso cute! Essspecially onesss like you!"
"Are you calling me cute...?"
"NO-" He suddenly dropped me. I squealed in fright.
Just then, the door opened, and a few Cookie's entered. "Uhm... Sweet Pinkyberry Cookie...?" One said.
"We are the Dragon Raid, currently assembling forces here on Dragon City. Would you be able to join the upcoming gathering to discuss the matters of the Dragon Hunt?" The other asked. "A mighty monster hunter like you would be an invaluable addition to our team!"
Hollyberry was listening very closely. "Hmm.... A raid on the legendary Red Dragon that was recently spotted on these lands, I presume?"
"Yes... that's right." The first Cookie nodded.
Hollyberry turned to Wildberry Cookie. "Wildberry Cookie, this is it! I get a feeling that this gathering is just what we need!" She then looked at Royal Margarine Cookie, who was still standing with us. "Oh, and um, let's keep that ride on your... wyvern... for next time, eh?"
I silently laughed at Royal Margarine Cookie's reaction to that.
The Dragon Raid Cookie's then mentioned that they were wondering if he wanted to join as well, which Wildberry Cookie questioned, but the Cookie's insisted.
Royal Margarine Cookie obliged but seemed very much against his own choice.
We soon left for the meeting, with Pitaya Cookie being awfully mad about not being able to finish his food. I teased him about it, which made him get more bad-tempered. I found it amusing, honestly. It was just so darn funny!
[At the meeting...]
As soon as we entered, eyes were all on us. Usually, I wouldn't be so uncomfortable, but with such high risks at stake in the situation I agreed to be dragged into, I was terrified and trembling like a little flower in even the lightest of breezes, which Pitaya Cookie noticed.
"So you tremble under many a gaze, but not in my presssence??? Ridiculous," Pitaya Cookie growled.
"You don't understand the pressure I'm in right now!" I spat back.
"Hmph. It's not that bad."
"Exactly! It's HORRIBLE." I immediately glued myself to his side, clinging to his arm and not letting go. He made me feel a little safer because of his confidence, or maybe something else...?
Surprisingly, he didn't pry me off. He pulled me closer instead.
Well, dang.
Hollyberry Cookie was having a conversation with a Cookie she appeared to know. Otherwise, she wouldn't be as friendly. Her name was Tarte Tatin Cookie, according to Hollyberry Cookie.
She wore pale, yet fairly vibrant, red clothing, and a heart eyepatch. She also wielded a giant... cannon? I wasn't sure what on Earthbread it was, but it really was awesome!
"Adventurers and volunteers that frequent Dragon City have gathered for a raid on Dragon's Valley," she explained to us. "As we are assured that the Red Dragon dwells within the Valley at this very moment, we aim to leave as soon as possible.... But we remain divided on whether the gathered forces around focus on the hunt, or on evacuating and protecting the city. After all, if the Dragon Hunt is unsuccessful... Dragon City will be left defenceless.
P/N's ears lowered; they shared the same dreadful feeling that was coming down on us. It certainly was a big decision on what should happen, and what should not. I let go of Pitaya Cookie and sat on my friend, giving them friendly neck hugs of reassurance. Nothing could possibly break our special connection since we were younger.
"Aha... A tough decision, I see." Hollyberry Cookie said. "You there! Royal Margarine Cookie, was it? What do you think? If you fly above everyone else and stay on the lookout, will the raid not have a higher chance of success?"
Royal Margarine Cookie jumped slightly in surprise. He soon shrugged off his surprise and only agreed because Hollyberry Cookie asked. "If it was up to me, I would immediately head home to pack my things thabn wasting time on these pointless discussions!"
"Coward..." I muttered under my breath.
Out of nowhere, a Cookie that was part of the raid came up to me and asked: "Is that a real P/T?"
I nodded, confused. "Uhh, yeah? Why do you sound so surprised?"
"They're very rare! Especially in these parts of Earthbread!"
"Rare? But I got P/N at a pet store!"
"Really?"
"Yeah. Was the last one to be sold."
"Or the only one caught."
"Caught?! But that pet store usually gets them from breeding! It's easy to explain."
P/N just looked confused.
(A/N Srry only Dog Version)
I opened my Curious Creatures Journal (that my parents forgot about most of the time, so I was able to do whatever I wanted with it) and found P/N's page I made especially for them. It had everything I studied about them. I began to flick backwards, believing I had something about their kind... but I was wrong. There was nothing.
"Huh...?!" I murmured. Surely there was something in here about P/T's!
Nope!!! WRONG. AGAIN.
What kind of secrets were being hidden behind P/N's kind...?
