' conversations with a serpent'







lillith gulped at the expressions displaying on the Salvador's faces. '' listen lillith-'' Lorenzo began with a sigh not really knowing what to say to her as Dominic silently placed a stack of papers in front of her.

she turned her attention from the four men watching her ever so carefully too the stack of papers her eyes widening. '' what-'' she began confused.

'' please sign lillith-'' Dante said softly kneeling down beside her grabbing her left hand in his drawing circles on it while Lorenzo handed her a pen to sign.

'' but-'' she said looking up again from the papers '' marriage?'' she whispered quietly.

'' its needed, please lillith for your safety '' Dominic said pleadingly.

she sighed her shaking hand hovering over the papers for a brief moment before she signed the marriage papers. the Salvador's all smiled at her widely, as Alesandro slipped a ring onto her finger. '' from all of us'' he said.

the moment however was cut short when Dante stood '' come lillith, we have a meeting'' he said waiting for her to stand, she tilted her head confused but stood none the less.

'' your leaving me for work?'' she asked accusingly.

the Salvador's chuckled. '' no love, we have a meeting, as in all five of us'' Dominic said wrapping his arm around her waist leading her away.

lillith blue siren like eyes meet a dark pair of doe ones as she entered the office. '' lillith'' a smooth velvety voice greeted.

lillith was cut off guard for a second the same woman who had been in the basement the other day now sat before her with a loose grin on her face.

despise the innocent features of the woman it was clear she was no saint.

'' Petrov'' the Salvador's greeted her and the man looming behind her with a whiskey glass in his hand and his other hand on his wife's shoulder in an almost reassuring manner.

'' what do you want ?'' lillith asked coldly ignoring the man glaring at her husbands for a moment looking at the woman instead.

'' to talk of course, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here would I now?'' the woman asked tauntingly.

the Salvador's jaws clenched. '' is it about victor?'' lillith asked.

the woman threw her head back checking. her dark curls falling back as she grinned even wider than before '' victor? oh no why would I care about victor Ivanov?'' she asked amused.

lillith glared at the woman who seemed to have no remorse for anyone. no respect either.

'' he said he had children'' lillith pointed out watching as the woman's expression turned dark the grin not leaving her lips but becoming more deadly.

'' I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself properly I believe'' the woman said coldly. '' I'm Eden Moretti Petrov'' she introduced sickly sweet.

'' the serpent'' Dominic corrected bitterly.

'' I suggest you watch your tone with my wife, Salvador. I could have you your precious girl there killed and you tortured for as long as I would please, do not think you are safe just because we are in your territory '' the man behind Eden spoke in an even colder tone than his wife.

he did not seem amused, or grinned, or chuckled. he seemed cold. and deadly.

the Salvador's did not reply '' we could do the same, kill your wife and lock you up'' Alesandro claimed.

the woman chuckled. '' you forget that death is no issue for me, it is for you'' Eden said gesturing at lillith. '' kill me and you will have war with not only my gang, but with the Kingston's, my brother the Italian don and the Russians for killing their Pechan and his wife, kill me and ill laugh up at you from hell as the world all turns against you'' Eden wanted.

lillith stayed quiet. '' the children? are they like their father?'' she asked after a while.

'' no'' Eden replied. '' and if I find out you have gone against me and ordered them killed I will not hesitate to kill you, married to dons or not'' she said lillith eyes widening as Eden had noticed the sign on lillith hand.

lillith hummed as in approval. she could tell that despise the fact she did not know who this woman truly was she was intimidating her husbands too. something that told lillith that Eden Petrov was dangerous.

and she was.

'' I save girls like you, you know, poor little girls, who ended up the wrong hands if you think you had it hard with victor, oh Penelope Kingston would laugh at you from her grave.'' Eden said mockingly.

'' who?'' lillith asked with furrowed brows.

'' Penelope Kingston?'' Eden asked amused. '' the mother of victor Ivanov children, at least your an adult, want me to enlighten you how old she was when he took her?'' Eden asked. '' she was three, nine when she got married to him, ten when gave birth, and thirteen when I saved her, I promised I would take care of her three sons, and make sure whatever was in victor Ivanov's name belonged to them, that they would have their empire even if it was build on monstrous acts and deals. '' Eden said lillith suddenly felt sick to her stomach but Eden did not seem to care about the swift in lillith expression.

'' but lets now put all that aside-'' Eden began but lillith cut her off.

'' if you are such a savior and a hero, why didn't you kill victor? why didn't save me then? '' lillith asked bitterly. almost accusingly.

Eden chuckled darkly. '' oh lillith, the world does not revolve around you, victor is a hard man to find, a smart man may be monsters but he was smart'' Eden started '' besides like I said the world does not revolve around you just because you went through something traumatic, it does not change my life what happened to you however sad it may be, and it does not change the world either, so frankly I did not care'' Eden said coldly.

heartless wasn't even close to describing Eden Petrov.

at least in lillith mind it wasn't. '' how dare you-''

'' your offended'' Eden cut her off '' there's no need to be, the choice I had was simple, it was either I save you whom have four dons loving you, caring for you, that was hellbent on finding you and saving you, like they did. or I save someone else who does not have such'' Eden said her voice raising slightly as everyone turned deadly quiet.

'' tell me lillith if your so offended, is your life worth more than six little girls life? cause that was the other option, the option I chose. tell me do you think of yourself so highly? '' Eden asked no trace of amusement left as she leaned forward threateningly.

'' no'' lillith whispered.

'' good because you are not worth six little girls life's'' Eden said and while the comment was cruel and vile, lillith suddenly understood Eden was blunt, she was not aiming to necessarily harm but to merely get her point across, to not be misunderstood.

'' I am hosting an event next week on Friday, I would like if you showed up'' she said '' its starts at seven'' she added.

'' we will be there ''' lillith assured.

and Eden's grin returned as she got up. '' take care lillith, and don't forget our little conversation'' she said before her husband wrapped an arm around her waist whisking her away from the office apparently leading themself out.

'' are you alright little one?'' Dante asked worriedly having grown concerned by the harsh tone and heartless comments Eden made.

lillith smiled softly. '' she was not wrong Dante, and I am fine'' she said getting up leaving the Salvador's behind to worry.

and her to think deeply. and throughout about Eden's words.

and lillith like so many others was left with only one conclusion.

Eden Petrov was a beautiful woman, with a very dangerous way of thinking. and lillith was happy she had taken the time to meet her.

because as Eden now often did.

lillith could not help but to be charmed just enough by Eden to actually care for the dark haired beauty opinion.

and so lillith drifted off into a world full of her thoughts.

a place where no one could reach her. even if they tried their best.
