A few days have passed since Kotal has been dethroned and Outworld has never been more at peace. Thanks to Mileena as Kahn with Manado's guidance, she now guides Outworld firmly, but fairly, despite her vampirism causing outbursts of aggression every so often. Manado however has helped her throughout those hard times. As for the ones who have helped them dethrone Kotal, Ashrah, Sareena, Li Mei, Khameleon, Nitara, and Tanya have all been given a new home in Outworld.

In the throne room, Mileena can be seen speaking with Manado.

"I understand your concerns Mileena, but if we're to protect Outworld, this needs to be done." Manado explains.

"But this mission is suicide, all others who went on this very same mission have failed and it ended with their deaths. I can't allow it." Mileena points out.

"I am aware of the others Mileena. But this is necessary for all of us and besides (holds Mileena's hand), you know I would never leave you, not again." Manado says.

Mileena softly smiles at him before the two then kiss. After a moment, the release from each other.

"I just don't want to lose you again." Mileena says.

"You know better than anyone Mileena, that I can't be easily killed. Shao Kahn and Shinnok have tried, and it didn't end so well for them." Manado says.

Mileena then chuckles.

"No it didn't." Mileena says.

"Look, I get it. You worry for me, and I'm not saying it's a bad thing. In fact, I think it's a good thing that you do, but this mission is important not only for me, but for the safety of you, Zaveer, and all of Outworld." Manado explains.

Mileena then sighs, seeing that Manado is not going to change his mind.

"Alright Manado. But you better come back in one piece." Mileena warns.

"It would be armageddon if I didn't." Manado says.

Manado looks at Mileena one more time before walking out of the throne room. Mileena looks at him leaving with concern, rubbing her fingers against the ring on her hand.

Later in a forested area near Z'unkahran, Manado can be seen trekking through the dense trees. He then finds himself in an opening in the forest. He then looks towards the trees and sees a pair of glowing eyes staring at him. Fearing an attacker, he gets into a fighting stance.

"Manado Chujin. Your time has come." The figure says.

"Oh really? Well, we'll see about that." Manado says before charging towards the figure.

Meanwhile, Mileena can be seen in the throne room pacing back and forth, showing clear signs of stress. Zaveer, who has just entered the room, notices this.

"You alright mother?" Zaveer asks.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I?" Mileena asks.

"Mom. Your pacing back and forth, you are clearly stressed out, and there's even sweat on your forehead. You are clearly not fine." Zaveer points out.

"I'm just worried about your father, Ok?!" Mileena yells.

The sudden outburst startles Zaveer. Noticing this, Mileena takes a deep breath and calms herself down.

"Sorry Zaveer, It's just..." Mileena says, struggling to get any words out.

Zaveer walks up to her and hugs her who returns it.

"Dad's going to be fine. You know that right?" Zaveer asks as he looks at his mother in the eyes.

"I know. He just worries me." Mileena says.

Ashrah then walks into the room and sees the two.

"Am I interrupting something your majesty?" Ashrah asks.

"No your alright Ashrah. What brings you here?" Mileena asks as she and Zaveer release their hug.

"I needed to speak to you about Manado, your majesty." Ashrah says.

"What about Manado?" Mileena asks.

"Look, your probably not gonna like what I'm about to say but I think it's fair to speak to you about this before him but the thing is... the feeling you share with Manado, I share the same feelings towards him." Ashrah explains.

The news gives Mileena and Zaveer a shock.

"You... you do?" Mileena asks.

"Not just me your majesty. The others who aided Manado a few days ago won't admit it, but they also share the same feelings towards him." Ashrah points out.

"I appreciate you speaking to me about this, but what I don't understand is... Why?" Mileena asks.

"I wanted to speak to you first about this because you are his partner and I don't wish to have bad blood between us regarding the matter." Ashrah explains.

"I see." Mileena says.

"And I know it seems sudden to ask this. But I was wondering if we could all share Manado as his partners?" Ashrah asks.

Mileena is left in deep thought. Never in her years of life had she even considered being in a situation like this. She guessed she should've seen coming, given everything Manado has done for them. She also wonders if Manado knows of their feelings as well. After a moment of thinking, Mileena looks back at Ashrah.

"I think it's best that Manado is here before a decision can be made. It's just too big of a decision for me to make at this point in time." Mileena explains.

"I understand, your majesty." Ashrah says.

Suddenly, a loud pained yell can be heard in the distance. Zaveer rushes to the window and sees a fire had broke out in the forest.

"There's a fire near Z'unkahran!" Zaveer says.

"Send who you can to help extinguish the fire immediately!" Mileena orders as she rushes out of the throne room.

Later, dozens of soldiers are rushing with buckets of water in their hands to douse the flames. Mileena, Zaveer, Ashrah, Sareena, Li Mei, Tanya, Khameleon, and Nitara can be seen rushing towards the location of the flames and notice the destruction. Mileena then walks towards one of the soldiers.

"What in Outworld's name has happened here?" Mileena asks.

"We were able to control the flames your majesty. But we have reason to believe that this fire was not by accident." The soldier explains.

"What do you mean?" Mileena asks.

Before the soldier could explain, another soldier calls out from the edge of the forest.

"Your Majesty! You might want to see this!" The other calls out.

Mileena looks at Zaveer in worry as Zaveer returns the same look of worry. The two, followed by the rest of the group, follow the soldier into the charred area of the forest before reaching an opening more scorched than the rest.

"We believe the fire started here your majesty. It also seems that the fire was used as a means of a coverup. There were footsteps moving south from here moving a few dozens yards before disappearing. We still haven't located the source of what caused this, but we believe it to be from a disperse of some form of magic." The soldier explains.

Zaveer then notices something glimmering in one of the bushes. He kneels down to pick it up and when does, a look of horror becomes plastered on his face.

"Zaveer, what is it?" Mileena ask.

Zaveer then stands back up, his arms shaking as he looks at his mother.

"Mom, it's dad's family talisman." Zaveer says, showing the golden item at her.

Mileena looks at it as she becomes more and more worried about Manado's safety.

"We found something else, your majesty. But I don't think you will like it." The soldier says.

The soldiers then moves to reveal a pool of blood on the ground. Sitting above the pool of blood, was Manado's helmet, bloodied and damaged. Mileena kneels down and picks it up, tears threaten to fall from her eyes.

"Any bodies?" Mileena asks.

"We're still searching your majesty. So far we haven't found any." The soldier explains.

Mileena falls onto her knees and begins to sob. Zaveer rushes to her mother's side and embraces her in a hug as an act of comfort. Mileena immediately returns the hug, as tears fall on her eyes.

In Earthrealm, Raiden could be seen in his sky Temple floating within the jinsei. He then opens his eyes and gasps for air as he feels a great disturbance. He then looks in horror as a realization bestows upon him.

"Manado." Raiden realizes.

In the Netherrealm, Revenant Manado can be seen walking about the cathedral. He then begins to chuckle in satisfaction before it turns into maniacal laughter.
