Shang Tsung can be seen standing before Empress Sindel who sits on her throne. Standing beside her is Princess Kitana and her grandson, Zaveer Chujin. Manado is seen laying on what best could be described as some form of stretcher, seemingly still unconscious from the result of he burns he received.

"This is an unsettling matter. But seemingly, Manado risked his own life to keep Mileena safe. Liu Kang may have proved himself a traitor, but Manado has shown nothing of the kind." Sindel points out.

"I must remind you, empress, that both Liu Kang and Manado are close acquaintances with each other. They know everything about each other. So it'd be a safe assumption that Manado knows of Liu Kang's plans." Shang Tsung explains.

"Even if what your saying is true, why would risk being harmed to help Mileena?" Sindel asks.

"A ploy. To keep the trust of you and your daughters so that he can help Liu Kang conquer Outworld with little resistance. Quan Chi warned us that the prophecy is reaching its final stages. We must act now before it is too late." Shang Tsung explains.

Sindel looks at Manado's unconscious. She goes from a look of worry and concern to a look of betrayal. She regains her composure.

"Very well. I will consult with the General about this matter. For now, take Manado to have his wounds mended before we confront him about his crimes." Sindel says.

"It will be done, empress." Shang Tsung says.

He notions to two of the guards and they pick up the stretcher and move out of the throne room, Shang Tsung following them, a smirk on his face. At this point, Talion walks in, looking at her family with concern.

"Mother, what's going on?" Talion asks.

Kitana looks at her daughter.

"It pains me to say, but Manado has seemingly betrayed us." Kitana replies.

Talion looks at her shocked and in horror.

"What? No... father wouldn't do something like that." Talion says.

"I did not want to believe it either, but it's the truth. He and Liu Kang plot to conquer Outworld and with their secret now exposed, we must act immediately." Kitana explains.

"Your mother is right, Talion. As much as it pains me to say, Manado must be locked up for his crimes." Sindel says.

Talion becomes inconsolable and breaks down at the thought of her father's betrayal. Zaveer rushes to her side.

"It's ok, Tal. It's ok. We all share this pain." Zaveer says.

Talion brings Zaveer in for a hug who returns the hug, trying to comfort her as best he can. Kitana and Sindel could only look on, also saddened by the events that have transpired.

Later, Talion is seen moving through the palace in deep thought.

"It just doesn't make sense at all. Dad is Outworld's protector. Why would he wish it to be conquered? Could it be that... I pray it not to be true." Talion says.

Talion passes by a slightly opened door and heard voices coming from the other side. Talion ceases her movement and backs up. She then looks through the doorway and sees Shang Tsung speaking with another. A man in a green colored hood.

"Have the cells in my lab ready for experimentation. I have subjects that are in need to be tested. Oh... and have have the extractor prepared as well." Shang Tsung orders.

"Of course, Shang Tsung." The hooded man says.

"Remember, failure results in painful consequences." Shang Tsung reminds.

The hooded man nods his head before leaving the room. Talion looks on in surprise.

"What are you planning, sorcerer?" Talion asks in a whispering tone.

A green portal suddenly opens and Quan Chi moves through it and approaches Shang Tsung.

"Are the preparations ready?" Quan Chi asks.

"They will be ready the moment I return to my lab. Our special 'guest' is already on route." Shang Tsung replies.

"Excellent. How fortunate it was for Chujin to show when he did. Made our job a whole lot easier." Quan Chi says.

"Indeed." Shang Tsung replies.

Talion overhears the conversation and goes wide eyed.

"What are they... (realizes) Dad." Talion says.

"Soon, my friend, Manado's power will be in the hands of our benefactor." Shang Tsung says.

"Tis a shame though. Manado power is something I've always wished to acquire for myself." Quan Chi says.

"A small price to pay for even greater power." Shang Tsung points out.

Quan Chi chuckles.

"Indeed." Quran Chi replies.

Talion gasps but immediately covers her mouth. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi turn towards the door and Talion immediately flees.

"It would seem we have ourselves a spy." Quan Chi says.

"Fret not. I shall deal with the inconvenience." Shang Tsung says before walking away from him, Quan Chi showing a wide grin as Shang Tsung leaves.

Talion can be seen moving as fast as her feet can carry her. She then bumps into somebody. She looks to see it was Reiko standing in her way.

"You should not be here, Talion Chujin." Reiko points out.

"Well I... umm..." Talion says before looking to see Shang Tsung has managed to catch up to her.

"She is a traitor, Reiko. Dispose of her quickly." Shang Tsung orders.

In quick fashion, Reiko swings his staff at Talion who manages to backpedal to avoid being hit. Reiko then swings from the side, but Talion catches the staff before proceeding to send a punch to Reiko's collarbone, causing him to stumble. Talion doesn't stop and punch Reiko twice in the face before kicking him to the ground. Talion assumes a fighting stance as Reiko rises to his feet.

"I knew you were too loyal to you father to be trusted, Talion. Now you... will die." Reiko says.

They then fight. Reiko may be the general's best soldier, but Talion proves to be way out of his league, especially considering who her family lineage is. In short notice, Reiko is knocked unconscious.

"You shouldn't have stood in my way, Reiko." Talion says.

Talion turns to see Shang Tsung strike at her. He manages to punch her once but shequickly recovers and blocks a second strike. Shang Tsung persists and manages to push her back. Talion retaliates and sends a kick to Shang Tsung's chest, causing him to stumble back.

"You have proved to be quite the annoyance, much like your father, Talion." Shang Tsung says.

"Whatever your planning to do to him, I won't allow it to happen." Talion points out.

"Naive child. You must realize that you can't stop the inevitability... that is your father's demise." Shang Tsung says.

They then fight. Shang Tsung proves to be more of a challenge in kombat than Reiko with his mastery in sorcery, a magic Talion was warned to be wary of. Knowing this, Talion fights with caution as to not be exposed to the dark magic. The fight takes awhile, but Talion eventually comes out on top.

"You will never succeed, Sorcerer." Talion says.

Talion turns to leave but finds three green glowing skulls flying towards her. Talion ducks to avoid the first skull. She then jumps to avoid the second one, but the third ends up hitting her in the chest. The impact sends her into a wall and falls to the ground. She looks up to see Quan Chi approaching her.

"Oh please. It is pointless to resist. Do you really wish to suffer the same fate as your father did?" Quran Chi asks, chuckling afterwards.

"Whatever you and Shang Tsung are planning, it ends now." Talion says.

"So confident that you will survive this encounter. Unfortunately for you, that will not be the case." Quan Chi says.

Talion then charges at Quan Chi and attempts to strike him but Quan Chi blocks the attack. Talion persists and strikes him again. Quan Chi manages to dodge the strike and sends a punch of own at Talion which hits her square to the chest. With her stunned, Quan Chi continues the assault by punching her in the face, followed by a jab to the throat before knocking her down to the ground. Talion grasps at her throat as she looks up at Quan Chi.

"How disappointing. I expected more of a challenge. (Opens a green portal behind him.) I suppose all you Chujins are all bark and no bite." Quan Chi taunts.

Quan Chi then turns towards the portal to leave but Talion tackle him from behind and both fall through the portal. The portal opens up inside the throne room within the palace and both Talion and Quan Chi fall through it, rolling across the floor. Both of them quickly rise to their feet and confront each other.

"You have been a pain in my side for long enough, girl. Now you will be punished dearly." Quan Chi says.

They then fight. Quan Chi's sorcery proves to be just as dangerous as Shang Tsung's. That combined with his experience in kombat proves to be a challenging foe for Talion to face. Talion's determination sees her though however and after a brutal fight, Talion emerges victorious.

"It is you who will be punished, Quan Chi." Talion says.

Talion kneels down to grab the sorcerer by the throat and readies to punch him again when a voice calls out to her.

"Talion?" The voice asks.

Talion turns to see Zaveer standing there, shocked to see what has transpired. Talion releases her grip on Quan Chi and stands to her feet.

"Zaveer... I can explain." Talion says.

"What is the meaning of this?" Zaveer asks.

"There more going on than we have realized. It's father, he..." Talion explains before being cut off.

"What about him? What does he have to do with this? You planning to betray us too? Zaveer asks.

"No. Of course not. I..." Talion replies before being cut off.

"I should've known this would happen. I never thought a day like this would come. But to keep Outworld safe, you've left me no choice but to take you down." Zaveer says before assuming a fighting stance.

The fight proves to be one of Talion's toughest. Talion holds back because she doesn't want to hurt her cousin but Zaveer doesn't hold back, forcing her into a situation she has never been before. Seeing no way out without having to fight back, Talion is forced to face her own cousin head on and knocks him to the ground.

"I'm sorry, Zaveer." Talion says.

Talion turns away from Zaveer who is seen panting as he sits on one knee. Talion then pulls out a small blue gem and hold it forward. The gem glows as a blue portal emerges before her. The sound of guards approaching catches her attention and she quickly moves towards the portal. She briefly looks back to see Sindel, Kitana, and Mileena rush into the room with the guards. She looks at them with a look of guilt before moving through the portal, the portal closing quickly afterwards.

The blue portal reopens within a forest and Talion rushes out of it. She turns to see the portal close and falls to her knees as she realizes the situation she has found herself in. The prophecy was a lie this entire time to split her family apart. And now it has split it even further. Talion looks up to see Shang Tsung's lab and a determined look forms on her face. She stands to her feet and looks on at the building.

"Don't worry, dad. I'll get you out of there. I just hope I'm not too late." Talion says as she makes her way to the lab.
