Chapter-66

Vanessa's POV:

Few months later,

I smiled at the baby, having a good day, he was making these adorable sound. Someone has lot to say.

But today, I have a lot to do.... I remember today Seth is going for a meeting, lucky he brought us here to enjoy the side seeing after his work is done.

Mrs. Silvia's house is an hour or more away from here. Yea... I know... I shouldn't go to her.

Seth will not like it.

But I must!

Ares needs to see his grandmother at least once, I feel so bad that Mrs. Silvia, She doesn't know he exists. I was close to my grandmother, I want the same for my baby. But it's not possible.

It won't hurt if he meets her once.

Seth walked in wearing his jacket, he said, "Vanessa.... I will be late today.... just stay in the hotel room....if You need anything Greg is here, anyways he is here to protect you too..."

I whispered, "You are saying like someone will walk in your own hotel and attack us?"

Seth said, "You are getting quite aggressive..." He bend down to Ares kissing his forehead a little.

Seth chuckled saying, "He is going to be an active baby... I bet on it!!!"

I sighed looking at Ares, he is just 7 months old, but look how active he is. If he could he would just take off running. I have to run after him in few months.

Seth turned my face to him, he kissed me lightly, he whispered, "Take care.... give me call if anything comes up...."

I said fixing Ares's hair, "I will go the mall..."

Seth hummed, he said, "Take Greg and the security.... and ...." He kissed my lips again, this time I pushed him smiling. I whispered, "Not in front of Ares..."

He walked out after passing me a wink.

After an hour, I walked out of the room. I know this might anger him, but I want to do it.

I saw Greg waiting for me, He said, "So.... little champ wants to shop!"

I smiled, Ares was already sleeping. Soon, I was sitting in the car. Greg started the car the security was in the car behind.

I took a deep breath, I said, "Greg.... take me somewhere else...." Greg said, "I know this shopping mall is good..." he didn't get it.

My subconscious said internally, "Because... you didn't said it..."

I said out, "Greg take me to my home.... I have belongings to collect...."

Greg told me, "Vanessa... he is going to be mad! he don't know right..."

I said stern, "I just want to bring some of my parents and grandparents pictures and my belongings..... just help me out a little... He won't know...."

Greg said, "No..."

I said again, "Please.... that's important to me....and Ares needs to see my parents picture at least.... I want to take my childhood with me...."

Greg banging his hand on the steering wheel as he said, "Fine... I am seeing my death already..."

Hours later,

I got down the car, Ares was awake. He is little angry because of the car ride. But he smiled when we were out.

Greg said, "You are not going in that house, right?"

I looked at Greg said, "I know what I am doing... now you can tell Seth if you want... I want to see Mrs. Silvia...." Greg cursed, he whispered, "F*ck"

He tried to grab my hand, I said, "I am your Madam...." I sighed, I said, "Ares needs to see his grandmother at least once... I don't care if he remembers or not"

Greg pulled his phone out, he whispered, "So... madam... Master is going to see you then...."

I took nervous steps to the house. I knocked on the door not before I took a deep breath. I saw Ares's face again, he surely looks like Seth.

I smiled, then I realized there is a door bell. I sighed, I am getting stupid day by day. I pressed the door bell and waited.

I whispered to Ares, "I hope they like us...."

He giggled, he doesn't get it.... he is just a baby!

How will he understand my nervousness.

I saw the door open. I saw Mr. Lewis, he looked at me stunned, he whispered, "Vanessa... you?"

I smiled, Mr. Lewis eyes went to Ares who was hiding in my arms, grabbing into my clothes with his small hand.

He looked at me questioned. I know..this is weird.

He opened the door as he asked, "What to come in?" He was unsure himself.

I nod, I got in the house. He walked in front of me. I was in the open living area.

I saw Mrs. Silvia getting up as she saw me. She looks better than last time, I am so glad she is recovering.

She walked to me in pure shock, I know I am not supposed to be here. Not in front of these people, not with Ares... But they deserve this.

Mrs. Silvia looked at Mr. Lewis like they were asking something to each other. She whispered, "this baby?"

I smiled showing her Ares, he finally turned his face to them. I whispered, "He is Ares, my and Seth's son... Your Grandson..... I wanted you to see him..."

I saw Mrs. Silvia covering her mouth, her eyes dripped water the next moment. Mr. Lewis embraced her a little, She got close to not letting a second to pass.

She touched Ares's face, she cried whispering, "Ares.... he is just like Seth... when he was..." She hugged me.

She whispered, "thank you... thank you...."

an hour later,

Mrs. Silvia was looking at Ares's as if her life was dependent on him. She was embracing him as if he was part of her soul. I know, she is searching for Seth in him.

Like the baby Seth came back to her.

Mr. Lewis passed me some coffee, he said, "So.... you are married to him?"

I nod, I whispered, "We are happy...."

Mr. Lewis whispered, "He still hate us....." I had no answer, I looked at Ares.

I whispered, "Ares... Must be.... must be hungry...." I searched for the bottle in my bag, I was about to take Ares in my arms when Mrs. Silvia pleaded, "Can I?"

I nod, She was soon helping him with the bottle. I know Grandparents love the kid no matter what mess they are facing... Maybe Ares will help her little to be happy.

Mrs. Silvia whispered, "Seth use to look like this... I feel like I am back in time...."

I smiled seeing Mrs. Silvia so in love with Ares, Mr. Lewis quickly got a picture of them on his phone smiling. Mrs. Silvia said, "One of just this sweat Angel..."

I smiled, I am missing my grandma today. Yea... Ares deserves this... Mrs. Silvia deserves this.

I heard footsteps, Young tired voice said, "Mom... I am home...."

I looked to Find Daniel walking in the living area, He looked at everyone confused, he dropped the bag as Mrs. Silvia said, "Daniel look at him...."

Daniel noticed me, he looks different than last time I saw him. I smiled a little, he hesitantly nod, I heard him saying, "Sorry... for me..."

Mrs. Silvia cut his words by saying, "Daniel... look this is Ares.... your nephew..." Daniel shot a glance at the baby, his eyes went in wide horror.

He turned to me as if he fears, "Because of me you had to..."

I stopped him, "No.... I married Seth.... He is a good man...." Daniel looked like he was feeling guilty. He whispered, "I... I need to..."He walked out before saying anything.

I know he might think.... Seth forced me to marry him.... but truth is different.

I should explain it to him, as much as I can. I got up to follow him. I noticed the front door was open, Daniel was glaring at the door. Seth was there, he was just looking at the young boy cold.

He noticed me, I see it.... I have a lot to explain and lot to nurture too.

Seth walked in, he stood in front of me as he asked, "You.. did wrong...."

I whispered, "Seth....." I was trying not to cause a scene here. He looks like he feels betrayed, he was angry too... or everything of his past was bothering him.

I want this mother son to be happy together.

Seth deserves it, his mother does too.

He asked stern, "Where is Ares?" I was about to open my mouth when he just walked in the living room without waiting for me.

I followed him, I won't want it to be destructive, I never though he will get here this soon.

I saw Seth walking in the room with no expressions, he got to his mother holding Ares. She got up, she said, "Seth... You are here.... Baby..."

Seth didn't bother to show emotions, he said, "I am here to take my son and wife... Mrs. Lewis...." He sounded like a stranger.

His mother's words stopped, she knew she has no way to talk to him. Seth didn't wait a second, he just pulled the baby from Mrs. Silvia.

He walked to me, he is really angry, last thing I want is to argue with him.

He grabbed my hand pulling me out. I noticed Ares's clothes. I grabbed Seth's arm pulling him to stop. He warned to turning to me, "Don't you dare...."

I said, "Seth... Ares's diaper is leaking.... he needs a change...... my bag is also inside...."

Seth said stern, "You can do this when we get back...."

I said, "He will catch a cold... I will quick just 5 minutes...." He looked at me for a wide moment, he tightened his jaw. He said, "5 minutes... I am at the door... just 5 minutes Vanessa..." I nod.

I said to him, "Can you ask the guards to take my Parents pictured from the wall and stuff in the cupboard too.... My house is right next door right..."

He said, "5 minutes...." I nod smiling.

Seth's POV:

I walked out of the house in anger, I don't want my kid to know them. The past can't be fixed nor can it be forgotten. It's better to live the lives we have. She doesn't need a son as me.... nor I do need her right now.

She has her family and I have mine.... I don't want to be tangled in the past.

I noticed Greg was already helping the guards move Vanessa's stuff in the car. I sighed.

I noticed Daniel was sitting on the last stare, he looks furious and worried. I can read him quite well regardless the fact I am not found of him.

I sat down beside him, he had a glance at me. I removed my Cigar lighting it up.

I blew the smoke out, I heard him, "It's not good to smoke when babies are around...." I stopped.

Does this idiot thinks I don't care about my son? I never smoke in his presence, right now I am just stressed and Baby is in the house.

I threw the cigar taking one more drag of it. Daniel asked, "Did you forced her?...." I didn't bother to look at him.

Daniel asked me, "You hate us.... that's why you forced her to marry you and that kid?"

I warned him, "Don't name my son any of those words.... I warn you.... anyways Vanessa is not someone you can force into these things, you don't know her well..." He looks like he is in ease.

He whispered, "I don't want her to suffer because of my mistake...." I smirked.

I whispered, "She is more than happy with me....." We both stayed silent, we both don't like each other.

How much love can step brothers have for each other? In our case it's none.

I don't care....

I said to him, "I don't blame you anymore.... Ares's birth taught me.... Whatever happened was none of your fault..... You did nothing Daniel..... I don't hate you anymore, but.... I don't want you all in my life...."

Daniel whispered, "Bold of you to think I want a Mafia brother....." I smirked.

He still little nasty kid.

I whispered, "You father son have no guts to be that..." He scoffed in anger.

I said out, "Take care of her....." Daniel looked at me, I finally had eye contact with him. I said, "Take care of our mother.... She is the one thing common in us.... Take care of her... You took her from me, and I abandoned her.... but take care of her... She would love to have a son as you, other than someone she never wanted...." He was about to say something.

I said, "That's what you can do for her...."

Daniel said, "She cares for you.... there is still a picture of you on-"

I stopped him warning, "Just the picture... Not me... stop this nonsense."

I pulled a card from my pocket, I wrote my number on it. I gave him the number as I said, "If there is do or die situation then .... then call me....."

I couldn't help but put my hand on his head, I said, "Be a good Man, Daniel" I cares his head a little.

I sighed on my own behavior. He was shocked I can tell that, so am I.

He took the card hesitant. I saw Vanessa getting out of the house. I am so angry on my wife but... but let's sort it out later.

I took Ares from her, she is already carrying the bag, It has bottle, diapers... and I think extra clothes for the baby too.

Ares was in new set of clothes. He looks happy, I heard Daniel, "Can I hug him?"

Vanessa said, "Sur-"

I said louder, "No..."

But Daniel was already hugging me. He was hugging me too as Ares was in my arms!!!!

I warned, "Get away...." It feels like he is hugging me in name of my son. What he thinks this will work on me?

Vanessa said, "Seth... he is Uncle of Ares..."

I said to her, "I did not approve...." Daniel got away, he looked at Ares saying, "He is cute... and fat!" He chuckled.

I narrowed my eyes on him, how dare he?

Babies are supposed to be fat! He was the fattest baby I remember.

I noticed Ares's hand were clutched tight, he was almost growling. Vanessa whispered, "He is angry..."

Did he get it?... But isn't he too young to get it.

Daniel smirked saying, "Sure... Father son have the same furrow...." I noticed both me and Ares were furrowing.

I whispered, "You... shut up..." I took Vanessa's hand pulling her with me. Today shouldn't have happened this way.
