The drive wasn't that long and once they arrived, Riku smelled the scent of caramel popcorn, pancakes, and other various food drifted through the air as the distant rumble of roller coasters punctuated the cheerful hum of the crowd. The two of them stood at the entrance, taking in the buzzing atmosphere with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Riku had always been the type to enjoy quieter moments, spending most of her time in the base working on new projects, but today was different. She was on a date for the first time and it was with Lincoln, this was new territory but it wasn't really a bad thing for her yet her heart fluttered in her chest. She knew she had some feelings for Lincoln she didn't know how to process them or how to proceed given his previous relationships and emotional distress. Riku wasn't used to grand romantic gestures, and this amusement park, with its laughter, thrills, and laid-back energy, seemed the perfect backdrop for something simple, lighthearted, and fun.
"Hey, Riku!" Lincoln called out, finally reaching her attention. "Are you alright? You looked like you were having second thoughts about this."
Riku smiled, her nerves melting slightly at his infectious enthusiasm. "It's no big deal, just got distracted that's all." she said, her voice soft but steady.
"So," Lincoln began, looking around with wide eyes. "Any preference on what do you want to do first? We've got roller coasters, bumper cars, a haunted house, and like ten different food stalls that are already calling out our names."
Riku chuckled, pushing her nervousness deeper down and allowing herself to feel the excitement that had been building since they'd planned this. She was more of an observer than a thrill-seeker, but something about today made her want to step outside of that comfort zone.
"Well," she started, glancing at a nearby signboard, "we should probably warm up with something not too intense." Her eyes settled on the Ferris wheel towering in the distance, slowly turning against the backdrop of the bright sky. "How about the Ferris wheel? The view from up there must be amazing."
Lincoln followed her gaze and grinned. "Great idea! Let's get an overview of the park before we dive into the wild stuff."
They made their way toward the Ferris wheel, weaving through the crowd. The sound of children laughing, games clinking, and distant screams from thrill rides filled the air. As they reached the ride, Riku took a deep breath. This felt manageable. The line wasn't too long, and the pace was slow, giving her time to settle into the atmosphere and enjoy the moment with Lincoln by her side.
The Ferris wheel itself was a massive structure, its gondolas slowly rotating high into the air, offering what Riku imagined was a breathtaking view of the entire park. Lincoln turned to her with a grin. "Hope you're not scared of heights."
She rolled her eyes playfully. "Pretty sure I got rid of that years ago, even before I fought that giant Synthoid that grew in size. *Looks at the reader* It was back in chapter 8 in case you need a quick reference. *Looks back at Riku* Besides, this is the calm before the storm, right?"
As they boarded the bright red capsule of the Ferris wheel , Riku noticed her hands fidgeting slightly, and she quickly folded them in her lap. She caught Lincoln watching her and flashed him a quick smile to hide her nervousness. The capsule swayed gently as they rose higher and higher above the park, the hum of voices and sounds fading into the distance as the landscape below them expanded.
"Wow," Lincoln said quietly as they neared the top. "You weren't kidding about the view, I can practically see my dorm here."
Riku leaned forward slightly, peering over the edge. The whole park stretched out beneath them, a patchwork of bright colors and swirling rides. Beyond the park's borders, the city lay like a glittering horizon, with trees and distant buildings dotting the landscape.
"It's amazing," Riku agreed, feeling herself relax in the peacefulness of the moment. There was something soothing about being up here, away from the hustle and bustle, even if just for a few minutes.
Lincoln turned to her, a soft smile on his face. "I'm really glad we did this, Riku. I mean, I know we've hung out before, but this... this feels different. In a good way."
Her heart fluttered again, but this time it was a pleasant feeling. She met his gaze, her cheeks warming just a little. "Yeah. It does feel different. Good different."
For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, the Ferris wheel continuing its slow rotation. Riku found herself more at ease with each passing second. She didn't have to be someone else around Lincoln. He was easy to be around, and that was rare for her. As their capsule reached the bottom, Lincoln hopped off first, offering his hand to help Riku out. She took it, her pulse quickening just slightly at the contact, but she brushed it off as she let go.
"So, now that we've scoped out the park, where to next?" Lincoln asked, a playful glint in his eyes.
Riku felt a surge of confidence. "Let's do the roller coaster," she said, surprising herself with how bold it sounded.
Lincoln's eyes widened. "Really? The big one?"
She smirked. "Why not? You said we should dive into the wild stuff, right?"
He let out a laugh, shaking his head. "You're full of surprises, Riku. Alright, let's do it!"
They made their way toward the park's largest roller coaster, a towering metal beast with loops, twists, and a terrifying drop that made Riku's stomach flip just looking at it. As they approached, the sounds of screaming riders filled the air, but it didn't deter her. Riku hadn't always been one for roller coasters, but something about today made her want to push her limits. Maybe it was Lincoln's presence, or maybe it was the electric energy of the park, but she felt more adventurous than ever. The line for the coaster was longer than the Ferris wheel, giving them time to chat as they waited. Lincoln animatedly pointed out different rides they could try next, his excitement never wavering. Riku found herself laughing more than she expected, enjoying his company as the anticipation for the ride built. Finally, they reached the front of the line, and Riku's heart started pounding. The coaster's cars roared by, the sound of wind and screams filling her ears. She swallowed, feeling a twinge of fear but refusing to back down.
"You ready for this?" Lincoln asked, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Totally!" Riku said, though she wasn't entirely sure if it was the truth.
They climbed into the front row of the car, strapping themselves in. The metal harness clicked into place over their shoulders, and Riku gripped the handles tightly. She could feel her pulse racing, her body tense as the car began its slow ascent up the first hill. The park stretched out below them, the coaster climbing higher and higher until they were at the peak. For a split second, everything was still, the world below seemed impossibly far away, and then came the drop. Riku's breath caught in her throat as they plunged downward, the wind whipping her hair back and stealing her voice. Her scream caught in her chest as they twisted and looped, the coaster racing through its chaotic course. She glanced over at Lincoln, who was grinning like a maniac, his hands raised in the air as he let out a whoop of pure joy. Despite her initial fear, Riku felt a rush of exhilaration as the coaster whipped them around. Her grip loosened on the handles, and she found herself laughing, the adrenaline making her giddy. It was terrifying, thrilling, and absolutely amazing. As the ride screeched to a halt, Riku found herself catching her breath, her heart still racing as she turned to Lincoln. His hair was wild from the wind, and his eyes sparkled with excitement.
"That... " she said, breathless, "... was insane."
Lincoln laughed, unbuckling his harness. "Told you! Roller coasters are the best. I can't believe you went for the front row on your first go. I must admit, Dairyland is was nothing compared to this."
Riku grinned, the rush of adrenaline still coursing through her veins. A few hours passed by of more rides and delicious food but eventually the two of them were too tired to continue and decided to end the date for the day. However, on the way out Riku noticed that Lincoln had stopped walking and saw that he was observing a flyer on a post-it board.
"Lincoln? What's wrong?"
"Huh? Oh, it's nothing."
"Don't lie to me, I know that nothing doesn't mean nothing."
Lincoln then pointed at the flyer and I start reading it myself. "Moon Goats grand tour of Japan and star comeback coming soon here next month!"
"Yeah... that's what caught my attention."
"Oh I get it... you're a big fan of them too!"
"... Uh... Yeah... You enjoy their music too?"
"I loved the Moon Goats back when I was younger before they took a very long break, I honestly thought they were disbanding at some point."
"Is that right?"
"Yeah, Kyoya introduced me to some of their old songs years ago. I always like the main singers, they were an amazing duo. What were their names again? I keep forgetting."
"... Sam and Luna."
"Oh yeah that's right, maybe we can go together if we can score some tickets."
"... Sure, just leave the tickets to me."
"Alright, I'll be counting on you."
"... I want to tell her, but how can I?" Lincoln thought.
The next day, Lincoln went to see Hayate for some advice about yesterday as well as help him out with the plans for his dream restaurant.
"Wait I think I'm caught up on what happened but exactly what problem is there that makes you worried about this band?"
"I know the band and who the main singers is."
"... And?"
"And, one of those singers... was my older sister Luna?"
Hayate spitted out his coffee when he heard Lincoln's word "Wait, are you serious?!"
"Yep!"
"Dang, talk about some coincidence. Will you be ok if you go?"
"Honestly, I'm not too sure about that."
"Well, what do you plan to do?"
"For now, I plan to wait on my buddy back home for some information about the concert."
*Flashback to last night on the phone*
"Clyde, you know I wouldn't ask you this under normal circumstances."
"Say no more Lincoln, I can handle gathering info that helps you out but exactly what are you going to tell Riku and how?"
"I honestly have no idea but I really don't want to bother her with my baggage about my ex family anymore than I already have. I don't want to mess up this time."
"Lincoln, I mean this when I say that you never messed up or at fault in the first place."
"Thanks Clyde, don't know what I would do without you. Tell your dads I said hello for me."
"No problem, see you man."
*Flashback ends*
"I see, not sure on how I can help but I'll do what can."
"I appreciate it, but enough about that for now. I got a great recipe for you to try out and maybe serve here in the cafe before you can get started on your restaurant."
"Oh really? What would that be?"
"My homemade crab cake sandwich."
"Hmmm, that sounds very nice and interesting to put on the menu."
*Meanwhile in the dark dimension*
Currently, King Nalos was holding a meeting with his new allies about their next course of action against Lincoln however most of the Synthoids in the room couldn't focus with how Lady Ragnok was treating Seras while Sentria and Orchid talking about whatever happened since they last saw each other.
"Lady Ragnok, do you really have to do this in front of the King and everybody else!"
"I just couldn't help myself little spider."
"I don't even want you to do this kind of stuff in the first place!"
"Leave her alone Ragnok." Sir Grimm said.
"Aw, but I don't want to."
"Now before I have to physically separate her from your arms." Lady Ragnok then did so reluctantly.
"Can we please focus on this meeting!" King Nalos shouted.
"My apologies my lord!" Seras said.
"No need Seras, you have enough unexpected troubles from where you are. Anyways, now that we've gathered, we need to a plan for our next invasion and prevent Cyrus from interfering. Seras, what information you've gathered since I was away?"
"During our most recent invasion, we had thought Cyrus was defeated by Sergeant Scorn but it appears we were wrong and he unexpectedly came back for a second fight."
"If that were the case, then he might not be so mighty after an encounter with any one of us!" General Graves said.
"I would not be so sure, it appears that Cyrus has a number of allies aiding him, at least two of them is most troublesome to us. One of them is the younger sibling of the previous Kamen Rider who sealed us away before and the other is another Kamen Rider known as Zero-One."
"A second rider! How interesting, my lord please allow me the honor to be the invader for the battle ahead and the Kamen Rider's next opponent." Khan said.
"I don't mind but if there are more Kamen Riders other than Cyrus, you may need support."
"Then allow me to go!" Lady Ragnok yelled.
"Oh please, you just want an excuse to be with Seras or even show off to her."
"Yet my strength will be excellent for the battle if there's two Riders, but of course it's Khan's decision if he wants my support."
"Very well, just make sure you stay out of my way in battle."
"That settles it, Lady Ragnok and Khan shall invade the next time a portal opens and Seras shall observe and provide potential support."
"Of course my lord." Seras said.
"Remember, should they can't fight anymore then get them back here immediately."
"I shall be done."
"There won't be any need, I don't plan on losing." Khan said.
*The next day*
Currently, Lincoln was on the phone with Clyde in his dorm.
"Alright Clyde, I'm all ears. What do you have for me?"
"Quite a bit actually. After the whole incident, Luna lost the last name of Loud like the others and got into the foster system due to her age and ended up in the custody of the Parker's."
"How the hell did you find that out?"
"I have my own talents and I may have asked for some help from Stella."
"Oh, how is she by the way?"
"She's fine, didn't think you ask."
"Well things didn't end up bad like with Nikki."
"Oh alright then, anyways according to her Luna apparently stayed in Royal Woods and after some time, managed to get back in her old band but in the backstage and out of the spotlight. Apparently she had been slowly talking with Sam and she decided to give Luna a second shot in their relationship but was on thin ice."
"What about this next concert, apparently it's a comeback."
"I guess her old band decided to bring her back on stage but it turns out that Luna rejected the spotlight before but I guess Sam convinced her this time for their tour to Japan."
"I see, now the problem is how am I going to tell Riku and what am I would do if I come close to Luna."
"It'll be a large crowd, maybe she won't see you."
"No, the tickets I going to get are the front row and meet the band type."
"Why?"
"After the day in court, Sam reached out and told me that if I ever want to go to one of their concerts, I would go on their website and type my information in there would always be a special ticket for me and anyone else I plan to bring. I rarely use them but they're always there."
"I see, what are you going to do?"
"I don't know, if you were me what would you do?"
"I would... tell the truth."
"The truth huh? That's a wild card in my hands."
"I'm sorry I couldn't be of anymore help."
"Don't worry about it Clyde, you'd helped plenty already and I thank you for that..."
*Ring* *Ring*
Lincoln took the phone away from his ear and saw that Tanaka was calling him. "... Sorry Clyde, looks like I got some work to do."
"Alright see you Linc."
"Bye..." *Hangs up and answers call* "... Yeah?"
"Lincoln, we just got reports of two Synthoids in Shibuya and are trying to get your attention."
"If there's any of your men there, tell them to move back. I'm on my way."
*Later in Shibuya*
"He's late!" Khan said.
"Oh don't worry, he'll show up sooner or later. Until then... Cybot! To me!"
An army of Cybots the size of a military company then appeared and all were eager for battle while Lady Ragnok manifested a broadsword.
"Surely they will be enough to cause enough chaos in the meantime, I do hope Seras is watching."
"If you continue with her like this, she will still reject you every time."
"I still won't give-"
"LETS GO... CYRUS"
Lincoln finally showed up on his bike and start firing his miniguns at the Cybots before parking in front of them.
"About time!"
"Alright! Who do I have the pleasure of fighting this time!"
"I am Khan of the Shadow Reapers and this is Lady Ragnok of the Dark Knights, and I assure you this this battle won't be like the previous times!"
"Lincoln, be careful. My scans show that both of them are far stronger than the Synthoids you've faced before. You're up against a much more powerful threat this time." Ai-chan said through his helmet's comms.
"Ai-chan, call Riku for support."
*Presses button*
"Sword!"
"TELEPORT... SWORD"
Lincoln charged forward with a tight grip on his sword and Khan did the same with his sword swinging toward Lincoln with deadly speed. Lincoln sidestepped the initial strike, the blade slamming into the ground with a force that cracked the concrete beneath it. The air vibrated with the impact. Lincoln wasted no time and countered with a quick upward slash, aiming for Khan's side but Lady Ragnok interfered , deflecting the blow with her broadsword before retaliating with a brutal downward slash. Lincoln barely blocked the strike, his arms straining under the sheer force of Lady Ragnok's attack. His sword was vibrating as sparks flew from the impact, Lincoln managed to push back, using the momentum to create some distance between them.
*Clank*
Khan on the other hand didn't wait without delay, rushing forward again, his sword a blur as it arced through the air in a series of rapid strikes. Lincoln met each one with precision, his blade dancing as he deflected the powerful blows, but he struggle to keep up with both of their attacks at the same time. Lincoln gritted his teeth as their relentless attacks continued. He could feel the weight of every strike reverberating through his arms. His mind raced, calculating his next move. He couldn't keep this up forever. Unfortunately, he was right when both of them manage to hit Lincoln and sent him back on the floor.
"Ai-chan, what can I do here?"
"Khan's armor is tough, but the joints in his arms and legs are more vulnerable. I've yet to gather data on Ragnok but you need to focus your attacks."
"Easier said then done."
Khan swung his sword again, aiming to cleave Lincoln in two while he was still injured but his sword was suddenly blocked by a silver blade with a red a black handle.
Lincoln looked to his side and saw that it was Ryu holding the blade who then struck Khan while he was still surprised by his appearence and got knocked back. Khan let out a growl in pain but recovered quickly, and Lady Ragnok rushed to his side along with the army of Cybots.
"Ryu-senpai! You're here!"
"... Tanaka and Riku asked me for help this time." Ryu then thrust his blade into the ground and it appeared to be extremely heavy and shattered the ground beneath it. He then put on a belt that resembles a motorcycle's handlebars with a slot on top of it.
He then pulled out a red flash drive device with an "A" on it that resembles a speed gauge and pressed a button on it.
"ACCEL"
"Hen...shin!"
Ryu inserted the device into the slot and revved the throttle on the right handlebar.
"ACCEL"
*Transformation*
Lincoln and everyone else gazed upon Ryu's transformation and his Rider form. It was a red suit with mostly red armor and some motorcycle parts attached to his body with blue eyes on his helmet.
*"Accel Dash Extended" plays*
"Damn it! Who the hell are you!" Khan shouted.
"Kamen Rider... Accel. Now, let's shake things off!"
Lincoln's chest ached, but he didn't let up, he stood up again and next to Ryu's side. Their swords whistled through the air as Lincoln readies his blade again and Ryu picks up his sword from the ground but it appears that it became lighter to him he can wield it easier now.
"Cybot! Attack!" Lady Ragnok ordered
"Take care of the small fries first before they get in the way of the main targets."
"The joints are vulnerable that samurai guy, aim for those."
"Got it, let's go Lincoln."
Lincoln didn't need to be told twice, both of them pressed the attack, their swords became a blur as they lash out various attacks against the Cybot army. They were weak but every strike was calculated, precise, aiming to lessen their large numbers, but Khan wasn't done and decided to join in on the fun. With a bellow of fury, Khan lunge forward and swung his sword in a wild arc, forcing Lincoln to jump back. The Synthoid's eyes glowed with a fierce intensity as he raised his sword high, the blade now enchanted by shadows.
"Watch out! That's some kind of special energy attack!" Ryu shouted.
Lincoln braced himself as Khan brought the sword crashing down. The ground shook, and a wave of dark shadow energy rippled outward, tearing through the concrete and heading straight for Lincoln. By instinct in a split second, Lincoln pulled out Alexander and inserted him onto his belt while bracing his sword to block.
"UPGRADE... ARMOR"
By now, Khan's attack landed and the area was covered in smoke and Ryu was unable to determine if Lincoln was able to change his form in time. Once the smoke cleared out, everyone sees Lincoln still standing in place in his Armor form but there were a few clear cracks in his sword.
"LETS GO... ARMOR... INVINCIBLE ARTILLERY"
"Little bit too close for comfort."
Without wasting time, Lincoln dropped his sword and fired his missiles towards Khan and Lady Ragnok and then used his other weapons on the Cybot to clear them out quicker.
"Lincoln! Take out the Synthoids, I'll handle the rest of the Cybots!"
"Roger that!"
Lincoln picked up his sword and charged towards the two elite Synthoid warriors.
"I've had enough of the sidelines!" Lady Ragnok said.
She then used a mysterious power to amplify her physical abilities by 10 times the ordinary amount while emerging a dark aura, not even Khan to match her strength at this level. She mounted his broadsword on her shoulder and used her power again to increase the weight for a more devastating blow and jumped high in the air and then brought the full increased weight of her broadsword down for a powerful downward slash. Lincoln saw this and decided to remove his disk and inserted in the guard of his sword and embedded it with Alexander's power.
"CHARGED"
Lincoln's sword glowed bright as he attempt to block Lady Ragnok's attack but barely even with Alexander's defensive abilities and soon enough, his sword glowed brighter and brighter gathering more energy each second. Once it had enough, Lincoln unleashed one very large and powerful slash of energy that launched Lady Ragnok back a few yards while diminishing her amplified power, shattering her armor, and even made cracks in her crystal core but also broke his sword into pieces after. Khan immediately rushed to protect her from any more of Lincoln's powerful attacks and activated some kind of communications device.
"Seras! Things did not go as planned, prepare a portal back now! We'll come to you!"
With no time to think or waste, Lincoln threw his sword away, removed Alexander from his belt and pressed both the button and the switch on his belt.
"LETS GO... CYRUS... FINAL STRIKE"
Lincoln quickly changed back into his base form and launched himself into the air just as massive amount of energy was focused on his leg and entered the position for his rider kick mid air.
"You fought well, but this is where it ends for now." Khan said.
Before Lincoln could strike, shadows began to surround both Khan and Lady Ragnok in the shape of a dome, swirling with dark energy. Soon the shadows disappeared along with the two Synthoids, from there Lincoln finally landed on the ground and breaking it in the process.
"Damn, missed by one second!"
Meanwhile with Ryu, he opened his sword like a break-action shotgun and inserted a silver memory with an "E" on it and closed the sword.
"ENGINE"
He then pulled the trigger on the handle of his sword and activated his finishing attack.
"ENGINE... MAXIMUM DRIVE"
A concentration of energy in the shape of the letter "A" is then shot out from the blade at a squad of Cybots.
(Something like this)
By now, Ryu had finish of the last of the Cybots, both of their battles had ended and the streets of Shibuya were silent once more but Lincoln couldn't help but think that it wasn't over for Khan and Lady Ragnok would be back along with any other powerful elite Synthoids but for now, he had won.
-To Be Continued-
