"Make an announcement throughout the kingdom. I, Yuvraj of Hastinapur, Dhritarashtra Putra, and Gandhari Nandan, will not forgive anyone who calls my brother a bad omen. If I hear even a rumor or anyone calling my brother a bad omen, they will face severe punishment. Let it be clear that my brother is not a bad omen."
The people of Hastinapur and the royal family will now understand the strength of the bond between the brothers and the unwavering support that Karna promised to Suyodhana.
Everyone dispersed after Karna made the announcement.
As the chamber emptied, leaving only Dritharastra, Gandhari, Sakuni and Karna, the room fell quiet.
Karna approached Gandhari, holding her hand gently. He made a promise, his voice carrying a weight of sincerity. "Mata, I promise you... just as I am your strength, I will be a shield to my brother Suyo. No one will dare to call him a bad omen while I am here. I will make sure of that."
Dhritarashtra and Gandhari felt a surge of pride and hope at Karna's words.
Gandhari her blindfold wet with tears, reached out to touch Karna's arm. "Putra karna, with you by my side, i fear nothing. Promise me you will never leave me."
Dhritarashtra interjected, "Gandhari, Why would Karna leave you? Stop asking silly questions. Now, give me my son Suyodhana-."
Gandhari cut him off her tone serious. "No"
Dhritarashtra did not expect that response. He was taken aback. "No?"
Karna, with a chuckle, added, "Pitashree, you may be the King of Hastinapur. But, in front of Mata, your words hold no authority."
Hearing this Sakuni joined in the laughter.
With his eyes full of warmth and affection, Karna then asked his mother, "Mata, give me my brother."
Gandhari, carefully handed baby Suyodhana to Karna, her hands steady despite her blindfolded eyes.
Karna cradled his newborn brother gently in his arms, his gaze softening as he looked down at the tiny, innocent face.
"Anuj, as long as I, your Jyesth, stand by your side, any threat or insult aimed at you will have to pass through me first. If anyone dares to harm you, they must confront me first. I vow to shield you and all our siblings from any harm."
Dhritarashtra and Gandhari smiled hearing this.
Sakuni, who had been watching the interaction with a proud smile, approached Karna.
"Putra Karna, now it's my turn. Let me hold my dear nephew." Sakuni said extending his arms.
But Karna, with a playful mock-hurt tone, said, "Mamashree, I thought I was your favorite. It seems Suyo might have taken my place."
Sakuni'e smile widened, he said, "How could I choose between the two of you? You both are my favourites. But, you hold a special place in my heart."
Just then, Ashwathama arrived, having finished his conversation with Mahadev.
"Mitra Karna?"
Seeing Ashwathama, Karna's face brightened. "Ashwa, come and see my brother," he said, motioning him over.
Ashwathama walked up with a smile and looked at the baby in Karna's arms. "He looks so innocent."
Karna then handed the baby back to Gandhari.
Ashwathama took Karna aside, away from the rest of the family. "I need to talk to you."
"What is it, Ashwa?" Karna asked as they walked a short distance.
Ashwathama handed him a parchment. "Here, these are the names that Mitra gave for your brothers and sister. He made me write all 101 names."

Karna's eyes lit up as he scanned the list. "These are perfect! But where is Mitra?"
Ashwathama sighed. "He left. I didn't see where he went."
Then Ashwathama hesitated. "Karna, there's something else..."
Seeing Ashwathama's hesitation, Karna could clearly see he wanted to say something but could not, maybe because everyone was there?
Karna turned to Sakuni and gave him the list of names. "Mamasheee, these will be the names of my 100 brothers and one sister. You read them out for Mata and Pitashree."
Karna then turned to his parents and took his leave, dragging Ashwa out with him, holding his hand.
Karna took Ashwa to his chamber. "What is it, Ashwa?" Karna asked as they say down on bed. "Did something happen with Mitra?"
Ashwathama sighed. "I don't trust him."
Karna said, "He seemed to be good man. Why don't you trust him?"
Ashwathama nodded but added, "Before he left, he mentioned something about a war - a war between brothers. He said we could stop it together and that we could change Duryodhana into Suyodhana."
Karna's eyes widened in confusion. "War between brothers? Why would I ever fight Suyo? That doesn't make any sense."
Ashwathama nodded. "Exactly!! Why will you fight your own brother. But Karna, he seemed certain. There was something in his words, like he knew things we don't. That's why I am saying i don't trust him."
Karna's brow furrowed. "We can ask him when we meet again, Let's sleep for now. I have to wake up early for Suryapuja. It's late, Just sleep here."
Ashwa nodded, and the two boys settled in for the night.
---------------------------------------------------------
In Kailash -
Mata Parvati looked at Mahadev with a raised eyebrow. "Swami, you cannot even make a 9-year-old child trust you?"
Mahadev, trying to defend himself, replied, "Priye, what can I do if he does not trust me? How is it my fault?"
Mata Parvati pressed on, "Then whose fault is it? Why bring up a war when even all the Pandavas and Kauravas are not born yet?"
Mahadev tried to explain, "Priye, I merely gave a warning -"
But Mata Parvati cut him off, "And you left without explaining it clearly?"
Mahadev started, "But -"
Once again, Mata Parvati interrupted, "Putra Karna is already having nightmares of his visions since his last vision about Suyodhana and now you added one more worry."
Then again Mahadev tried to say, "Priye, you already know this would happ -"
But Mata Parvati cut him off angrily, "Do not talk to me until you gain the trust of Putra Ashwathama."
With that, Mata Parvati turned and walked away, leaving Mahadev alone.
Mahadev sighed deeply.
Just then, Narayana appeared, laughing.
Seeing Narayana laughing, Mahadev innocently asked, "Aaradhya, why are you laughing?"
Narayana, still smiling, teased, "Aaradhya, Meri priye behen ke aage, aapki bhi nahi chalti. (In front of my dear sister, even your word doesn't hold sway.)"
Mahadev cleared his throat hearing this and said seriously, "Should I decree that no one in the mortal world gives you Makhan?"
Narayana exclaimed, "Nooo!!!"
Mahadev smirked and said, "Then help me gain the trust of Ashwathama."
Narayana, smiling mischievously, replied, "For that, you will have to wait until I take my Sri Krishna avatar."
Mahadev signed and said, "Fine." Then muttering to himself, he added, "Looks like I will have hard time convincing my dear wife."
Narayana smiled at Mahadev's words, but then he remembered his Makhan and, to be sure, asked again, "So now that I have agreed to help you, you will not come between me and my Makhan, right?"
Mahadev, with a smirk, replied, "If you succeed in helping me, only then."
---------------------------------------------------------
The next day, as the first light of dawn broke over Hastinapur, Karna was already awake, at the banks of the Ganga performing his Suryapuja.
Beside him, Ashwathama yawned and stretched, rubbing his eyes still sleepy having been dragged out of bed by Karna.
As Karna concluded his prayers, he turned to his friend with a smile. "Thank you for joining me, Ashwa."
Ashwathama grumbled, "When did I want to join? I was dragged here by you."
Karna rolled his eyes at Ashwa's reply.
They began their walk back to the palace. Along the way, they noticed the streets were being decorated and preparations were being done for some kind of celebration or festival.
Karna looked around in surprise. "Ashwa, is there something special? Why all these preparations?"
Ashwathama, still half asleep, rubbed his eyes and looked around. "Mitra, how can you forget your own birthday? Every year, the entire kingdom celebrates it."
Karna remembered that from the time he could recall the world around him, the people of Hastinapur celebrated his birth every year. He always felt grateful for the people because they did so much for him, and thinking this, Karna smiled widely.
As they walked, Karna's smile faltered when he overheard a conversation among a group of people setting up decorations.
"Did you hear? The baby born to Maharaj Dhritarashtra and Maharani Gandhari was first named Duryodhana because he was considered a bad omen, but later Yuvraj Aditya insisted on naming him Suyodhana."
Another person replied, "Yes, it was even predicted that this child will bring the downfall of the Kuruvansh because he is a bad omen."
A passerby joined in, "But did you not hear the announcement made? Yuvraj Aditya said not to call Rajkumar Suyodhana a bad omen, otherwise there will be severe punishment."
The first person replied, "Did you ever see Yuvraj talking rudely to anyone or even hurting anyone before? I DOUBT HE WOULD PUNISH ANYONE FOR SIMPLY SPEAKING THE TRUTH. AND, WHY - WOULD - YUVRAJ - ADITYA - TAKE - THE - SIDE - Of - A - BAD - OMEN?"
Each word stung Karna, his anger rising with every passing second.
He stepped forward, ready to confront the gossipers, but Ashwathama grabbed his arm, stopping him.
"Mitra Karna, Mata always says not to do anything when you are angry."
Karna turned to Ashwathama and said, "Ashwa, did you not hear what they were talking about Suyo?"
Ashwathama nodded. "I heard, but this is not the time. At least not when you are angry. Don't you see? They are doing all this for you," he said, pointing to the decorations and preparations around them.
Karna looked around and took a deep breath. He knew Ashwathama was right. "You're right, Ashwa. Let's go for now. But, soon I will put an end to these rumors about Suyo."
Together, they walked back to the palace, Karna's mind already forming a plan to protect his brother's name and ensure the people of Hastinapur will see Suyodhana for who he truly was.
The preparations for Karna's birthday which is in two days continued in full swing.
A/N - (So for the plot i decided to make Karna and Suyo born in same week like 3 days difference)
The royal family and the people of Hastinapur continued to see Suyodhana as a bad omen.
KARNA, ALTHOUGH HEARD THESE WHISPERS AND OBSERVED THE BEHAVIOUR OF HIS OWN FAMILY TOWARDS SUYODHANA, HE CHOSE NOT TO CONFRONT ANYONE, WHICH ONLY FUELED THE RUMORS.
---------------------------------------------------------
Two days later...
FINALLY IT WAS THE D-DAY...
It was the day of Karna's birthday, and the entire Kingdom was happy celebrating their beloved Yuvraj's birthday. The streets were adorned with flowers and decorations, and vibrant stalls filled the marketplace, creating a festive atmosphere.
But, Unknown to them, a grave threat was soon coming that could put Karna and the Kingdom at risk. This threat would not only test the people's love and loyalty but also reveal how far they were willing to go to protect him.
Who knows? The very people who celebrated Karna's birthday might decide to never talk about him. HIS NAME WOULD NEVER BE SPOKEN AGAIN, AS IF HE HAD NEVER EXISTED.
Vidur married Sulabha after Pandu left to forest. Sulabha is six months pregnant and is due to give birth in few months.
The royal sabha was in session as usual, with prominent figures like Bhishma, Vidur, Dhritarashtra, Gandhari, Satyavati, Ambika, Ambalika, Sakuni, Karna and other officials present.
Suyodhana is with Sulabha.
During the session, A MESSENGER ARRIVED WITH A LETTER.
Vidur took the letter and read it, his face lighting up with joy.
"Jyesth, Tatshree... Bhrata Pandu has sent a letter. It says Bhabhi Shree Kunti has given birth to a child who is a blessing of Vayudev."
Hearing the news of Bhima's birth, the entire sabha erupted in joy.
Even Dhritarashtra and Gandhari were happy at this news.
THE LETTER ALSO MENTIONED THE DAY BHIMA WAS BORN, AND IT WAS THE SAME DAY AS SUYODHANA.
Karna was listening to everything but was deep in thought about how to stop the rumors surrounding his brother.
As everyone celebrated, Shakuni observed the scene, his frustration rising. He leaned towards Karna, and said. "Mere bache, see how happy they are with the birth of Pandu Putra Bhima. Yet they tried to kill Suyodhana, calling him a bad omen."
Karna snapped back to reality at Shakuni's words. He then casually said, loud enough for everyone in the sabha to hear, "Kakashree, Pitamah... Why is everyone so happy about Bhima's birth?"
Karna continued, pointing out, "He was born on the same day as Suyodhana, right? Does that not mean Bhima is a bad omen as well?"
He added sarcastically, "Oh, wait! Or is it because Bhima is a Dev Putra and my brother Suyodhana is not?"
Sakuni smirked, pleased with how Karna had questioned the royal family.
The royal family and everyone present were taken aback by Karna's direct questioning. THEY STOOD TONGUE-TIED, REALIZING THEIR HYPOCRISY.
Vidur, feeling the weight of his words he spoke, stepped forward. "Putra Karna, You are right. I was wrong in calling Suyodhana a bad omen. My judgment was clouded by fear and superstition, not reason."
Bhishma, who had supported Vidur's earlier stance, said. "I supported Vidur without considering the implications of our words and actions."
Satyavati, Ambika and Ambalika, who had remained silent during the incident, now spoke up with regret.
Satyavati said, "We should have spoke up against the unfair judgement of a newborn."
Ambika and Ambalika nodded in agreement, their expressions showing deep remorse. Ambika added, "We failed to protect an innocent child from unwarranted prejudice."
The truth in Karna's words struck them deeply, making them reflect on their actions and prejudices. Feeling the weight of their mistake, they looked at Suyodhana with renewed understanding and regret for their earlier judgments.
Seeing the shift in their hearts, Karna spoke again, his tone firm but compassionate. "If you truly regret, then show it through your actions rather than mere words. Treat Suyodhana with the love and respect he deserves. Apologize to my parents, who were deeply hurt when their child was unfairly labeled as a bad omen."
Then Karna asked his father, Dhritarashtra, "Pitashree, every year, we distribute gold to the people on my birthday, but this time, I want to do it myself."
Dhritarashtra smiled and said, "Of course you can."
Dhritarashtra was about to instruct Vidur to help Karna with distributing the gold, but Karna spoke first, saying, "I will do it with Mitra Ashwa. I don't need any help."
Saying this, Karna left the sabha, without waiting for a response.
The royal family, seeing Karna leave, they decided to correct their mistake and treat Suyodhana with the respect and love he deserved and also apologized to Dritharastra and Gandhari.
---------------------------------------------------------
Outside the palace -
Although the royal family began to see Suyodhana differently after Karna's questioning - the people of Hastinapur continued to gossip about Suyodhana being a bad omen.
Karna and Ashwa stood side by side.
Karna had changed from his princely attire into simpler clothes, making him look like an ordinary person rather than a prince or Yuvraj of Hastinapur.
Ashwa looked at Karna from top to bottom and asked, "Why did you changed into these clothes?"
Karna adjusted his outfit and replied with a smile, "Radha ma made these for me with her own hands. How do I look?"
Ashwa nodded appreciatively. "You look good, it suits you well"
He then asked, "What are we waiting for? Let's go and distribute gold, and then go to Radha ma's house."
Karna turned to Ashwa and said, "Have some patience, Ashwa. Remember I told you I am going to stop rumours about Suyo?"
Ashwa nodded and said, "Yes. Are u going to do something now?"
Karma smirked and said, "Yes, Today the people of Hastinapur, will either stop calling Suyo a bad omen or..."
As Karna spoke, he overheard someone nearby, unaware of his presence, start talking about Suyodhana being a bad omen.
Karna smirked, looked at Ashwa, and said, "Just wait and see how I will change their prejudice about Suyo."
Karna, with a calm face, stepped forward, his presence commanding attention.
Nearby people turned to look at Karna, immediately recognizing him despite his simple clothes. Some began to smile, but the forthcoming words from Karna will surely change that.
"I announced that no one should call my brother Suyodhana a bad omen, Yet it seems my words were not taken seriously. Maybe you thought I wouldn't follow through with severe punishment." Karna said, his voice filled with authority.
Everyone around Karna stopped whatever they were doing when he spoke.
Karna continued, his tone softening but still firm. "Over the past few days, I heard many people speaking ill of my brother - I did say that anyone who did so would face severe punishment, and I cannot go back on my word. AS YOUR PUNISHMENT - I FORBID ANY CELEBRATIONS TO BE DONE FOR ME BY YOU."
People were shocked by Karna's words. Every year they celebrated his birthday to show how much they loved him. Murmurs spread through the crowd at the punishment Karna gave them.
Karna continued, "If you cannot show the same love and respect you show me to my brother, then I don't want anything you do for me. IF MY BROTHER SUYODHANA IS A BAD OMEN TO YOU, THEN STARTING TODAY, CONSIDER ME A BAD OMEN AS WELL."
The crowd fell silent, the weight of Karna's words sinking in. His words struck a chord with the people. They realized the depth of their mistake and the pain they had caused Karna.
One person stepped forward and said, "Do not say such things, Yuvraj. You are a blessing of Suryadev. How can you be a bad omen?"
A lady in the crowd added, "We shouldn't have called Rajkumar Suyodhana a bad omen. We were wrong, but please don't call yourself as a bad omen."
Another person joined in, "We understand our mistake and deeply regret it. We were wrong. Rajkumar Suyodhana is not a bad omen. We will never speak of him that way again. Please forgive us, Yuvraj."
Together, everyone apologized.
To show their love and respect for Karna, they collectively VOWED THAT NO ONE WOULD EVER CALL RAJKUMAR SUYODHANA A BAD OMEN AGAIN.
Hearing this, Karna said, "Fine then, I will trust your words one last time. THEN STARTING NOW, EVERY YEAR, SUYODHANA'S BIRTHDAY SHOULD ALSO BE CELEBRATED ALONG WITH MINE FOR A WEEK."
The news spread quickly throughout Hastinapur. Soon, even those who had not witnessed the scene began discussing Karna's decree, the vow made by the people and also Karna's words - asking people to consider him as a bad omen as well, and lastly his decision to celebrate Suyodhana's birthday along with his. The news travelled from one household to another, and to RADHA MA as well.
Karna smiled. The people's genuine affection and the promise they made brought a sense of accomplishment to him. He had successfully altered everyone's perception and, more importantly, protected his brother from such unfair treatment.
After this, Karna began distributing the gold. He addressed the crowd, saying, "I do not know how much each of you needs. What I give may be too little or too much for someone. So, take as much as you need, and after you do, please give your blessings to my brother Suyodhana."
Everyone blessed Suyodhana wholeheartedly, marking a new beginning for him.
Ashwa then turned to Karna and asked, "Mitra Karna, how did you come up with such a clever plan to change everyone's perception of Suyodhana?"
Karna replied, "Earlier when I questioned in the royal sabha, why everyone was happy about Bhima's birth, I realized that their happiness was due to Bhima being a Dev Putra, while Suyo is not so they easily labeled his as bad omen. That gave me the idea. If I had to stop these rumours about Suyo, I knew that showing their double standards was the only way to make them see their mistake."
Karna then looked at the people around him and continued, "Ashwa just think, The whole kingdom celebrates my birth because they see me as a Suryaputra, a blessing from Suryadev. If the people can do so much for me every year on my birthday.... And now, if i tell them to see me as a bad omen, will they ever do that? By making them to treat Suyodhana and me as equals, I knew they would realize their mistake and correct it."
The celebration took on a new meaning, not just for Karna's birthday but also as a reaffirmation of their respect and acceptance for Suyodhana.
IT WAS A PROMISE FROM THE PEOPLE Of HASTINAPUR TO KARNA - THAT THEY WOULD TREAT HIS BROTHER SUYODHANA WITH THE SAME HONOR AND LOVE THEY HELD FOR HIM.
Just then, SHON came running to Karna and Ashwathama. He held Karna's hand and said, "Bhrata Vasu, come with me. Fast!!!"
Karna raised an eyebrow and looked at Shon, asking, "Where? Did something happen?"
Shon looked at Karna and said, "Radha ma told me to bring you immediately. She is very angry with you."
Hearing this, Karna's eyes widened, slightly shuttering, he asked, "Angry... with me? Wh..Why?"
Ashwa started laughing, understanding the situation and why Radha ma was angry.
Seeing Ashwa laugh, Karna glared at him and asked, "Ashwa, what kind of friend are you?.... laughing at my situation instead of finding out why Radha Ma is angry with me and helping me get out of this situation."
Ashwa put a hand on Karna's shoulder and said, "KARNA, TO MAKE EVERYONE SEE SUYODHANA POSITIVELY, YOU CALLED YOURSELF A BAD OMEN."
Shon immediately nodded and said, "Yes, Bhrata Ashwa is right!! Mata heard someone say what happened here and is very angry. She wants to ward off the evil eye on you (nazar utarna)."
Karna immediately backed away, saying, "Shon, you just said Radha ma is angry and if I come now, she will definitely scold me. You go and tell her you did not find me."
Shon looked at Karna with puppy eyes and said, "Bhrata Vasuuu, Radha Ma has cooked your favorite kheer for you." Then his expression changed to one of sadness as he added, "Mata said if I don't bring you, she will not give me any. So pleaseee... come with me."
Ashwathama teasing Karna, said, "Kheer!!! Mitra Karna, let's go!! I also want to eat Kheer made by Radha ma."
Karna muttered to himself, "Wahh, just because they want to eat kheer, they are taking me to the lion's den... What a nice brother and friend I have."
Karna knew he could not escape now. Even if he tried to convince Shon, his friend Ashwa would drag him to Radha ma just to see him getting scolded.
So Karna signed and they made their way to Radha's house, Karna praying to all gods to save him from his mother's anger.

Same time - Somewhere else in Hastinapur
As the Stranger stepped into Hastinapur, he was surprised by the bustling scene. The streets were alive with celebratory activity. Merchants shouted out the prices of their goods, children ran through the crowds, and the scent of spices filled the air.
Amidst the hustle and bustle, THE YOUNG STRANGER IN SIMPLE CLOTHES made his way through the city. His eyes were sharp, observing everything around him with keen interest. He moved with purpose, yet he seemed to blend into the background, unnoticed by those around him.
"Why is everyone so happy? Is it something special today?" he muttered to himself.
Listening to nearby conversations, he learned that - today is the Yuvraj's birthday and that he is outside of the palace. And the stranger also heard people discussing about the events that unfolded.
The stranger was impressed by the Yuvraj's actions and the love the people showed for him.
The stranger's ears perked up at the mention of gold being distributed.
"Wait!! Did I hear 'take gold as much as we need?'. If I want to survive here, I need gold. Here I come."
He made his way to the location where the gold was being distributed. He noticed that the people are taking only as much as they needed, and not being greedy. This impressed him.
"This Yuvraj... he must be someone extraordinary," he thought to himself. "I wonder who he is and how he looks. Hmm... I heard he is outside the palace." He starts looking around searching for someone who looked like a prince or Yuvraj but couldn't see anyone fitting the description.
He took a modest amount of gold, just enough to support himself during his stay in Hastinapur. And thought, "Okay!! Now I just need to talk to someone with authority, maybe the Maharaj?"
The stranger reached the palace gates and looked up, determination etched on his face. He took a deep breath and approached the guards, who eyed him warily. "I need to speak with someone in authority," he said, his voice steady but firm.
The guards exchanged glances, uncertain about the young man's intentions. "And who might you be?" one of them asked.
The stranger hesitated for a moment, then replied, "A well-wisher? Anyway, I will only tell to the person of authority who I am."
The guards looked at each other and laughed at him. "Go away, kid!!" And they literally threw him away from the gates, warning him not to come anywhere near.
The stranger got up, shouting at them, "How dare you throw me like this!! I am not just anyone, I..." He paused, looking around, everyone staring at him. Realizing how absurd he must look and sound, he muttering to himself, "Well, that didn't go as planned."
"How do I go inside the palace now? Should I sneak in? Noooo, what if they see me and this time threw me in the dungeons? What should I do?" He thought.
Suddenly, he remembered overhearing people saying that their Yuvraj was outside the palace. The stranger got an idea. "I can find the Yuvraj and use him to get inside the palace."
He looked around and, with determination, said to himself, "Alright, I have come this far. Finding the Yuvraj shouldn't be too difficult, right? But how do I find him? 🤔 Hmm... Since it's his birthday and he's a prince, I am sure he will be dressed in extravagant clothes that will make him stand out as 'I am the Yuvraj.'"
Determined to locate his target, the stranger mingled with the crowd, his eyes searching for anyone dressed in lavish attire that might identify them as the Yuvraj.
Meanwhile - With Karna
Meanwhile, Karna, Ashwa, and Shon were on their way to Adhirath and Radha's house.
Radha had been uneasy since she heard about Karna telling people to call him a bad omen. Worried and angry, she had asked Shon to bring Karna home.
Radha had been waiting anxiously for them. The delay was because Karna was in no hurry and was trying his best to avoid Radha Ma's scolding.
Karna stopped at every stall, asking Ashwa, "Mitra, do you think these bangles will suit Mata Gandhari?.... And this is for Pitashree... What do you think of this?.... Will Radha Ma like this?...."
Ashwa, fed up, replied, "Karna, just pick whatever you like and let's go fast. I want to eat Kheer."
Karna made a sad face, pouting, "All you think about is Kheer and not the situation I am in?"
Karna began his dramatic act, "I am hurt. I don't want to talk to you, or go anywhere with you." Saying this, Karna turned to leave.
Ashwa rolled his eyes, seeing his friend's overacting, grabbed Karna's hand. "Trying to escape, are you?"
Karna just laughed, thinking of something. He looked behind them suddenly called out, "Chirayu!!"
Ashwa released him and immediately put his hands on his head to avoid Chirayu's usual pecking. This gave Karna a chance to slip away.
Karna ran from there laughing seeing Ashwa's reaction, but soon bumped into someone, both falling to the ground.
The stranger had been looking for the Yuvraj for some time now but couldn't find anyone who looked like a prince. He was exhausted, hungry, tired.... While feeling this, he felt someone bump into him, making him fall to the ground.
The stranger, dusting himself off, looked at Karna, "Can't you see where you're going?"
Karna quickly apologized, "I am sorry. It's my fault. I didn't see you."
Seeing Ashwa approaching, Karna said hurriedly, "I am sorry again, but I have to go-"
The stranger got an idea and decided to ask for help. He stopped Karna, holding his hand, "Wait, I'm looking for someone. Can you help?"
Karna nodded proudly, saying, "I know everyone in Hastinapur. Who are you looking for?"
The stranger hesitated, "I am looking for the Yuvraj of Hastinapur. I heard he is outside the palace."
Karna raised an eyebrow, looking at the stranger who was asking about him.
Seeing Karna look at him like that instead of telling where he could find the Yuvraj, the stranger got irritated, "If you don't know, then why waste my time?" saying this, he was leaving.
"Wait." Karna held his hand, stopping him.
The stranger looked at his hand and then at Karna raising an eyebrow, just like Karna did when he was looking at him, "What?"
Karna replied, "When did I say I don't know who the Yuvraj is?"
Just then Ashwathama came there and caught Karna, saying, "Got you!! Now where will you go?"
Noticing the stranger with Karna, Ashwathama asked, "Mitra, who is he? Do you know him?"
Karna explained, "Mitra Ashwa, he is looking for the Yuvraj of Hastinapur. And I am going to take him to our Yuvraj."
For a second, Ashwa thought - how come in such a short time, Karna gone mad or something that he forgot that he is the Yuvraj of Hastinapur?
Then Ashwa looked at the stranger, then at Karna, and understood Karna is trying to prank the stranger. So he played along, "Ah, Yuvraj of Hastinapur? The one who pulls pranks on everyone? The one who made me hold an apple on my head as a target?"
Karna glared at Ashwa, hands on his hips.
The stranger, looking frustrated, said, "Forget it. I will ask someone else."
Karna and Ashwa stopped him, "We will take you to him!"
The stranger, unsure if he could trust these boys, reluctantly agreed, "Okay?"
As they walked Karna curiously asked, "Why are you looking for the Yuvraj?"
The stranger looked at him saying, "None of your business!! Just tell me where he is. I will talk to him directly."
Karna did not expect that reply and he pouted angrily, "Then don't tell!!"
Karna whispered to Ashwa, "Ashwa I am going to make him tell me why he wants to meet me. And make sure he doesn't find out that I am the one he is looking for. I will also see how he will not tell me."
Hearing this, Ashwa nodded, agreeing.
Karna then asked, "I am helping you and you did not even tell me your name."
The stranger replied, "You also did not tell me yours."
Karna smiled and introduced himself and Ashwa. "My name is VASUSEN, and he is my friend, Ashwa."
The stranger nodded and introduced himself, "I am DAKSHA."
Karna led Daksha through the winding streets of Hastinapur. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the city.
As they approached, they saw Radha waiting outside with Shon, who had already told her why they were late.
Seeing Karna approaching, Radha stood with her arms crossed, a stern look on her face, ready to scold him.
Seeing his Radha ma, Karna quickly hid behind Daksha, who looked around in confusion.
Daksha wasn't sure whether to trust the two boys he had followed, and now seeing an angry lady marching towards them made him even more certain he had been tricked.
"Why are you hiding behind me? And who is that lady?" Daksha asked, his voice tinged with fear.
Karna whispered, "I am helping you, so you should help me as well. She is my mother, and she is angry with me."
Daksha's eyes widened, and he immediately stepped behind Karna. "You didn't tell me this before. If I knew, I wouldn't have agreed to help you."
Karna's eyes pleaded with him.
"Now you know," Karna said, pouting. "Please, can you help me? Radha Ma will not scold you since you are a guest in our house."
Despite his initial refusal, Daksha shook his head. "No way."
Meanwhile, Ashwa stood aside, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched the scene unfold.
Karna, realizing Daksha wouldn't budge, he quickly moved behind Ashwa.
"Mitra, what are you doing?" Ashwa asked, his voice tinged with fear.
"Using you as a shield," Karna replied with a shrug, gesturing toward Radha, who was now holding a stick in her hand.
Ashwa's eyes widened in alarm. He turned to Karna and whispered, "Why did you have to involve me in this? And you have your own shield, why use me :("
Daksha rolled his eyes at their antics, and decided to intervene.
"Okay, enough. Vasusen, just do what I say," he commanded.
Karna's face lit up with hope as he listened to Daksha's instructions. He told Karna to take blessings from her.
When Radha reached them, Karna immediately bent down to touch her feet. "Radha Ma, today is your son's birthday. Will you not give me your blessings?"
Radha's stern expression softened. She dropped the stick and placed her hand on Karna's head, blessing him. "Ayushman bhava," she said, her voice filled with affection.
Karna beamed, but as he stood up, Radha grabbed his ear. "Aahhh... Ma, leave me," Karna pleaded, pouting.
Daksha couldn't help but laugh at the scene before him.
Radha noticed Daksha's laughter and turned to him. "Who are you, Putra? I've never seen you in Hastinapur."
Caught off guard, Daksha nervously replied, "I have some work here in Hastinapur. I will leave once it's done."
Radha nodded and took his hand, "Come inside and have some food first. See how weak you look."
Before Daksha could protest, Radha dragged him inside, with Karna, Ashwa and Shon following.
They all sat down together, and Radha brought out three plates of kheer. Daksha noticed that while Radha served everyone, she didn't give Karna a plate and instead went back inside.
Daksha was about to ask where Karna's plate was when Radha returned with a fourth plate and sat in front of Karna, feeding him with her hand.
Daksha had never experienced mother's love, he grew up with his father and the other Asuras caring for him. Watching Karna and Radha, he felt a pang of longing for something he had never known - a mother's love. He looked at the food before him but hesitated to eat.
Radha noticed and asked, "What happened, Putra? You don't like it? Should I make something else for you?" She began to get up, but Daksha quickly stopped her.
"No, this is enough. I will eat this," he said, touched by her concern.
Daksha stared at his plate of food, reflecting on his life. He had come to Hastinapur to fulfill a mission but now found himself experiencing a mother's love for the first time. Tears welled up in his eyes as he began to eat, crying silently.
The others paused, hearing his sobs. Radha immediately went to Daksha, wiping his tears with the end of her saree. "What happened, Putra? Why are you crying?"
Daksha couldn't speak, only cry. Karna placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?" he asked softly.
Daksha nodded, tears streaming down his face, and continued eating. He felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and acceptance.
When Daksha finished, he looked up at Radha, his voice cracking, "Can I have more? I..."
Radha didn't wait for him to finish. She brought more kheer and told him to eat slowly. "You can eat until your stomach is full."
Shon, observing Daksha's emotions, said, "You must be missing your mother. Bhrata Vasu also ate like this after returning from the ashram. When I asked him why, he said he missed Radha Ma's food."
Daksha stopped eating, a sense of loss washing over him.
"I don't have a mother. She died after giving birth to me," he confessed.
The room fell silent, everyone saddened by his words.
Radha took the plate from Daksha's hands.
He looked down, expecting rejection.
Instead, Radha offered him a morsel of kheer.
"Don't you ever say you don't have a mother," Radha said gently. "Consider me your mother from now on, okay? Now come on, you will eat from my hand only."
Tears filled Daksha's eyes again as Radha fed him. For the first time, he felt the comfort of a mother's love. When he finally declared he was full, Radha smiled and patted his back.
"From now on, you will call me Mata, okay? If someone asks about your mother, tell them you are a Radheya."
Daksha, despite being sixteen, nodded like a child and whispered, "Ma." He then hugged Radha tightly, letting his tears flow freely.
Karna, wanting to lift the mood, chimed in, "Radha Ma, do you even know your new son's name?"
Radha, realizing she hadn't asked, turned to Daksha. "Oh, how could I forget to ask your name?"
"Daksha," he replied, feeling a deep connection with his new family.
Karna whispered in Daksha's ear, "Radha Ma doesn't like it when her children cry. She will start crying too."
Determined not to let his new mother cry, Daksha wiped his tears. He felt a new sense of belonging and was resolved to protect this newfound bond at all costs.
Adhirath arrived home to find the lively atmosphere and the scent of kheer wafting through the house. As he stepped in, Radha greeted him with a smile and gestured toward Daksha, who was still seated at the dining table, looking somewhat out of place but content.
"Arya, come here. I have someone to introduce you to," Radha said, her tone filled with warmth.
Adhirath approached Daksha with curiosity. "This is Daksha," Radha explained. "He came to Hastinapur on some business, And, I've decided to take him in as my own."
Adhirath nodded thoughtfully and extended his hand to Daksha. "Welcome to our home, Daksha. You are now a part of our family. Consider us as your own. You will stay with us for as long as you are in Hastinapur."
Daksha hesitated, looking uncertain. But, Radha's stern look convinced him otherwise. He shook Adhirath's hand, accepting his offer with a small nod. "Thank you. I appreciate your kindness."
Adhirath smiled and patted Daksha's shoulder. "Don't be so formal with us, Putra. Now, make yourself at home."
Meanwhile, Karna decided to stay back at Radha's house for the night. He turned to Ashwa, who was still sitting beside him. "Tell Mata that I'll be staying here with Radha Ma tonight."
Ashwa nodded and agreed to pass on the message.
As the night fell and everyone settled in for the night, Daksha lay awake in his bed, unable to sleep. He had never expected to experience a mother's love.
His mind wandered back to the scene in Asura lok, where Vritrasura's overwhelming display of power had left an indelible mark on him.
---------------------------------------------------------
Flashback - Asura Lok - After Vritrasura reclaimed the throne.
"You have made the right choice. Remember this day, for it is the day I reclaimed what is rightfully mine. Serve me well, and you shall prosper. Defy me and face my wrath." Vritrasura said, his voice echoing with authority.
Turning to his new subjects Vritrasura declared, "Remember this day, and remember your place. For I am Vritrasura, and I am your King."
The Asuras rose, some with fear, having witnessed the true extent of Vritrasura's power, knowing they could not oppose him. While others remained neutral, unsure of where their allegiance lay.
Sitting on the throne with a commanding presence, Vritrasura surveyed the gathered Asuras with a mixture of disdain and triumph.
The hall, once vibrant, now fell silent under the weight of Vritrasura's aura. His gaze finally rested on Jarasandha, who had been a silent witness to the chaos he caused.
"Jarasandha," Vritrasura's voice cut through the murmur of the assembled Asuras. "What do you think now? Will the Asuras remember who I am?"
Jarasandha, visibly shaken by the display of Vritrasura's power, swallowed hard. The sight of Vritrasura's might had instilled a deep fear within him. The once - confident king now looked small and vulnerable in the shadow of Vritrasura's grandeur.
Forcing a smile, though his voice trembled slightly, Jarasandha replied, "Yes, I am sure they now know who you truly are." He thought to himself, "And I now know who I was foolishly plotting against."
Vritrasura's lips curved into a sinister smile, his gaze never leaving Jarasandha. "And... Do you know why I brought you here with me?"
Jarasandha's heart raced, a cold sweat forming on his brow as he managed to ask, "Why?"
Vritrasura chuckled darkly. "So you can see what I am capable of." Vritrasura continued, his voice carrying a cruel edge, "Now, you mentioned you needed help to bring that Suryaputra to me, right?"
Jarasandha nodded. "Yes."
"Then," Vritrasura commanded, his tone brooking no argument, "you have the entire army of Asuras at your disposal. Go and bring that Suryaputra to me."
Jarasandha, now thoroughly intimidated by the spectacle of Vritrasura's power, felt a surge of panic. The notion of crossing Vritrasura filled him with dread. The once - proud king of magadha realized that he could no longer dare to oppose Vritrasura again.
Determined to preserve his own safety, Jarasandha decided that - rather than admitting he had withheld information about the child and face Vritrasura's wrath, - he would use the Asura's help to bring the Yuvraj of Hastinapur to Vritrasura. He had no choice but to act swiftly while making sure Vritrasura does not find out his deceit.
Resolute, Jarasandha replied, "YES, I WILL DEFINITELY BRING THAT CHILD TO YOU, EITHER DEAD OR ALIVE."
He turned to leave, but Vritrasura's voice stopped him in his tracks. Jarasandha's heart skipped a beat. "What now? Why did he stop me?" he thought anxiously.
Vritrasura raised an eyebrow, his gaze sharp and calculating. "Tell me, how do you plan to bring that Suryaputra to me?"
Jarasandha hesitated before answering, "I will take some Asuras and search the entire city for the child." he said trying to sound confident.
Vritrasura sneered, "Who made you the King of Magadha? Your pitiful plan will never succeed. Use your brain, if you have any."
Hearing Vritrasura's words, some Asuras laughed at Jarasandha. The laughter only added to Jarasandha's humiliation. The sounds were like nails on a chalkboard, fueling his anger. Yet he forced himself to remain calm and said, "Then what should I do?"
Vritrasura's smirk widened as he leaned forward, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Listen to me and do exactly as I say..."
Vritrasura's eyes gleamed with a dark intent as he began outlining his plan, each word laden with menace. Jarasandha, swallowing his pride and fear, braced himself to carry out the commands that would determine not only his fate but also the future of Hastinapur.
After instructing Jarasandha, Vritrasura stood up, his presence dominating the hall. He scanned the assembled Asuras before him.
"Listen well," Vritrasura's voice boomed. "I need every Asura, Rakshasa, Danava, and Daitya to know what has transpired here today. Spread the word to every corner of Patala and beyond. Tell them that Vritrasura has reclaimed his throne and that I demand their allegiance. Those who wish to join me, come forth. Those who refuse, let them know that when they face me, they should harbor neither evil nor fear in their hearts. For if they do, I will make sure they face a fate worse than death. I will not let them die, yet I will make them wish for death."
The hall buzzed with murmurs as Vritrasura's decree spread among the gathered beings. His command was clear, and his authority absolute.
Vritrasura looked around and saw two Asuras standing together.
Though they appeared identical, Vritrasura could easily discern their contrasting natures - One of them looked at Vritrasura with eager eyes, as if wanting to get noticed and prove his loyalty - The other maintained a neutral stance, observing the situation with a calm demeanor.
The two Asuras before him were Dritarda and Dritarva: The Inseparable Twin Brothers, whose bond defies even the deepest of differences.
Background:
Dritarda: Often seen as the one who seeks power and success, his decisions are influenced by his impatience, making him quick to act, often rushing into situations without considering the consequences. This impulsiveness often puts his brother in difficult situations or danger. He aligns himself with those he believes hold the most influence or strength, which can make his loyalty seem opportunistic and strategic rather than genuine. However, his greatest weakness is his brother. If anyone threatens his brother, Dritarda will go to great lengths, even if it means sacrificing his ambitions or engaging in unethical actions, including harming others.
Dritarva: In stark contrast to Dritarda, he approaches situations with a level head. He avoids harming others unless absolutely necessary and supports those he believes are right, even if it means opposing powerful figures, which sometimes leads to conflicts with his brother, who thinks differently. However, he is not without his flaws. His greatest weakness is also his brother. Even if he knows what is right, he will always support his brother. If Dritarda somehow convinces him to take his side, he will do so without a second thought, even if it means forgetting his own values.
Despite their differences, the twins always support each other. They may argue, but they always find a way to reconcile and work together when needed, showing the strength of their bond.
The Penance and Boon: In their desire to remain together in life and death, the twins performed an intense penance to Lord Brahma. After years of devotion, Brahma appeared and granted their boon.
Dritarda and Dritarva: "Great Lord Brahma, we wish for a boon that will ensure our bond remains unbroken. We wish to be killed only if we are together - at the same time, in the same place, with the same weapon, by the same person. We are different in every way, yet we cannot live without each other. If we must live, let us live together; if we must die, let us die together."
Brahma: "Your devotion and bond are indeed extraordinary. I grant your boon. You shall only be slain under the conditions you have set. May your unity be your strength."
Back to Vritrasura
Vritrasura then pointed to one of the Asura twins. It was none other than Dritarva.
"You," he commanded, "go and spread this message. Gather every being who wishes to join me. As for those who refuse, warn them of the consequences."
Dritarva, loyal to their former king Dakshara and the crown prince Daksha, looked at Dakshara, who nodded for him to do as Vritrasura commanded. Dritarva then looked at Vritrasura, nodded, and hurried out of the hall to carry out Vritrasura's orders.
This small exchange between the Asura and the now former king Dakshara did not go unnoticed by Vritrasura.
But Vritrasura didn't care. HE ALREADY KNEW NOT EVERYONE WOULD BE LOYAL TO HIM OR SUPPORT HIM WILLINGLY - AND HE DID NOT NEED ANYONE EITHER - THE ONLY REASON HE MAKES ALLIES IS TO CAUSE CHAOS. If he needed someone, he will just use his power and force anyone to be his pawns.
As Dritarva left, Vritrasura turned his attention to Kushada, the commander of Asura army and told him to take as many Asuras as he needed to proceed with the plan and help Jarasandha.
Again, Kushada looked at Dakshara as well, who gave a nod of consent to do as Vritrasura told, and Kushada left.
Vritrasura was impressed by Dakshara. Even after witnessing his(vritrasura's) power, he can tell not all Asuras are on his side, some are still loyal to Dakshara.
Vritrasura dismissed everyone to leave, and all the Asuras left. However, the now former Asura king, Dakshara remained, standing alone before him.
Seeing that Dakshara did not leave, Vritrasura asked, "Do you have something to say?"
Dakshara hesitated for moment, before speaking. "I knew you would come here one day..... There is someone who has been waiting for your return."
Vritrasura looked at Dakshara with a curious and measured gaze. "You knew I would come?..... Interesting."
He stepped closer to Dakshara and asked, "Who is waiting for me?"
Dakshara replied, "Your Pitamahi...."
Vritrasura closed his eyes, lost in thought, memories of his past flooding back. Anger surged within him, and he abruptly shouted, "YOU MAY LEAVE!!!"
The mention of his Pitamahi (grandmother) had stirred something deep within Vritrasura - an old wound, a buried memory of his dear mother.
Dakshara turned to leave but paused when he heard Vritrasura's next words, "AND TELL HER I DO NOT WISH TO MEET HER."
SAME TIME- WITH DAKSHA
The sixteen-year-old young Asura Prince, Daksha, sat in his room, thinking about everything that had happened.
His father has told him to stay in his room and said not to come in front of Vritrasura so he do not know what happened after he said they will surrender.
Near Daksha stood Kushada, the commander of the Asuras, who is also like a mentor and a good friend to Daksha.
Even though there are many Asuras with boons, Dakshara recognised Kushada's capabilities and appointed him as the commander. From then on, Kushada had sworn his loyalty to the Asura king Dakshara and it extends to the young prince Daksha as well.
Seeing Daksha silent for the first time, Kushada asked, "Why did you changed your mind and tell Vritrasura we would surrender? Do you want to follow him?"
Daksha looked up at Kushada and scoffed. "Me? Follow him? Never."
Kushada asked further, "Then what were you thinking just now?"
Not wanting to talk about it, Daksha changed the topic, "Anyway, can you tell me why I am being confined in my own room?"
Kushada just shrugged, "Your father knows you are not the type to stay still in a situation like this, so maybe he's just making sure you don't do something reckless and put yourself in danger."
Daksha grumbled, "What can a sixteen-year-old like me do?"
Kushada chuckled, "Well, you were the one who told Vritrasura that we would surrender, and the Asuras backed down at your word. Is that not enough to know what you can do?"
Daksha asked, "So, I heard you are going to Hastinapur, am I right?"
Kushada nodded, "Since I am the commander, Vritrasura told me to take as many Asuras as I needed to proceed with the plan."
Daksha immediately smiled, "What is the plan? Can I come? You know it's been a while since I went outside."
Kushada shook his head, "No, you're staying here and don't even think of coming out of this room. I don't know what goes on in that head of yours; no one can predict what you will do next."
Hearing this, Daksha sat back and ordered, "If you are not going to take me with you.... Then just leave."
Kushada turned to leave but paused, "Don't do anything rash, Daksha. You are precious to us Asuras. Many still follow you and your father, not Vritrasura."
As night fell, Daksha's frustration grew. He couldn't stand being confined to his room any longer, especially when so much was at stake. His thoughts raced, and he decided he had to do something. Waiting for Kushada to return and relay Vritrasura's plans was no longer an option.
Silently, Daksha packed a small bag with essential items and weapons. He knew the path to Hastinapur. He also knew that leaving unnoticed wouldn't be easy, but his determination outweighed his fear.
Daksha glanced around his room one last time before slipping out into the night. The palace was quiet, with guards patrolling the corridors, but Daksha had learned how to move silently from years of sneaking around the palace as a child. He avoided the main exits and found a lesser-known passage that led to the outskirts of the city.
Once outside, Daksha felt a sense of freedom. He was finally taking control of his destiny. Hastinapur was a long journey, but he was determined to reach it and discover what Vritrasura had planned. If Kushada and the other Asuras were going, then he would be there too, no matter what.
As he moved through the shadows, Daksha couldn't help but think about what awaited him in Hastinapur. He knew it was dangerous, but he also knew that his presence could make a difference. His father and Kushada had always tried to protect him, but now it was his turn to step into the fray and protect his people.
Determined and resolute, Daksha set off towards Hastinapur, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
---------------------------------------------------------
Back to present -
Staring at the ceiling, he reflected on how vastly different the lively household of Radha and Adhirath was from the fearsome realm he had left behind. Radha's acceptance and kindness had provided him with the unfamiliar feeling of family and belonging he had never experienced before. Despite the strangeness, he felt a glimmer of hope and a respite from the turmoil that had governed his past.
His thoughts turned to his father Dakshara, and his mentor, Kushada. He knew that his departure from Asura Lok had left them in a difficult situation. While he was confined to his room, he had overheard enough to understand the gravity of situation. Vritrasura's plans, were unfolding, and he understood that his presence in Hastinapur was critical.
The duality of his situation weighed heavily on him. On one hand, he was trying to carve out a place for himself within this new environment, seeking acceptance and understanding. On the other hand, he was driven by the need to act against Vritrasura's schemes and protect his people.
Despite the comfort of the bed, his mind raced with thoughts and uncertainties about his future and his role in this new family. His resolve strengthened as he considered his future. The knowledge of Vritrasura's plans and the looming threat to Hastinapur, pushed him to consider his role in the unfolding events.
As he closed his eyes, Daksha felt the weight of his decision to leave Asura Lok and his determination to face whatever lay ahead in Hastinapur. The contrast between his past and present made the path forward unclear, but he knew that he could no longer remain passive. His thoughts were a swirl of apprehension and resolve, as he prepared himself for the challenges that would come with his new chapter in this unfamiliar yet promising world.
---------------------------------------------------------
The first light of dawn filtered through the window, casting a soft glow across the room where Daksha had spent the night. He stirred from his restless sleep, feeling the weight of the previous day's events still heavy on his mind. With renewed determination, Daksha prepared to meet someone of authority who could assist him with his mission.
Looking around the house, he found Adhirath in the kitchen, preparing a fresh pot of tea. The scent of the tea mingled with the aroma of Radha's breakfast preparations. Adhirath looked up, his face breaking into a welcoming smile.
"Good morning, Putra. Did you sleep well?" Adhirath asked, pouring a cup of tea.
Daksha accepted the tea with a nod. "Good morning."
Adhirath asked, "Radha told me you have come here for some work. If you don't mind, can you tell me?"
Daksha replied, "I need to speak with someone of authority. The guards have not allowed me inside. So, I was hoping to find the Yuvraj to gain entry into the palace. That's how I met Vasusen, he told me he will take me to Yuvraj."
Adhirath's expression shifted to one of slight amusement. "Ah, I see. Well, you might be in for a surprise. The Yuvraj you seek is actually Vasu."
Daksha's eyes widened in surprise. "Vasusen? But I thought he was just another member of the household. And, he doesn't look like Yuvraj. How can he be Yuvraj? He is just a kid!! And if he is Yuvraj, then why did he say Radha ma is his mother? And -"
Radha laughed at his questions. Though all were genuine doubts, his non-stop asking made Radha laugh.
Radha said, "He is my Vasusen. And, The eldest son of Maharaj Dritharastra and Maharani Gandhari. Don't get confused, he has many names, so I think when you asked him yesterday, he played a prank on you."
Adhirath chuckled softly. "Indeed, Karna - also known as Aditya or Vasusen - is the Yuvraj of Hastinapur. It seems he tricked you by not revealing his true identity."
Just then, Karna returned from his Suryapuja. He smiled at Daksha. The smile was so innocent that Daksha wanted to be angry at him, but remembering what he got because of Karna's prank, he just smiled back.
Radha held Karna's ear and asked, "Why did you play a prank on Daksha? He must have had something important to do, that's why he asked for your help, and you started your shenanigans?"
"Aahhhh Radha ma, leave me. I asked him yesterday Why he wants to meet me, but he said, 'It's none of your business,'". Karna says defending himself.
Radha turned to Daksha. This time, Daksha defended himself, "No, Radha ma. That happened after he said he would help me. If I knew he was the Yuvraj, why will I say something like that?"
Radha turned to Karna, who had already covered both his ears with his hands.
Adhirath took a sip of tea, his demeanor serious. "You said you wanted to talk with someone of authority, right?"
Daksha nodded.
Adhirath said, "I am the charioteer of Mahamahim Bhishma. If you want, I can take you to him."
Adhirath turned to Karna and said, "Or Karna will take you himself inside the palace to Maharaj Dhritarashtra and others for playing a prank on you. Right, Karna?"
Karna nodded, "Ofcourse, I will take you. We can go right now if you want."
Daksha immediately said. "That would be most helpful."
Adhirath nodded. "You can go with Karna. Let's finish our breakfast, and then we can head to the palace."
As they finished their meal, DAKSHA COULDN'T HELP BUT JUST HOPE HE WAS NOT TOO LATE.
Later that morning, Adhirath took them to the grand palace on his chariot. The grandeur of the palace was awe-inspiring, a sharp contrast to the humble home where Daksha had spent the night.
Karna and Daksha made their way to the royal sabha where everyone was gathered.
---------------------------------------------------------
The atmosphere in Hastinapur had shifted positively. The royal family and the people no longer viewed Suyodhana as a bad omen.
The royal sabha is in session as usual.
Suddenly, a SPY burst into the royal sabha, breathing heavily and looking visibly distressed.
Vidur, noticing the spy's condition, asked, "What happened? Why did you come in such a hurry?"
Bhishma, concerned, instructed, "Bring him some water. Let him catch his breath first."
After a moment, as the spy began to calm down, Dhritarashtra, with a commanding tone, said, "Speak, and tell us why you rushed in like this."
The spy, catching his breath, reported, "Maharaj Dhritarashtra, Magadha Raj Jarasandha is advancing towards Hastinapur with his army. It appears that the entire Magadha army is marching towards us."
Bhishma's face darkened with anger. "Jarasandha! How dare he attempt to attack us in such a manner."
Sakuni interjected, "Jija Shree, I feel something is wrong here. Jarasandha knows that Mahamahim Bhishma is the protector of Hastinapur. Then, why would he attack suddenly out of nowhere without any reason?"
Dhritarashtra thought about what sakuni said, remaining composed despite his blindness, gave precise orders. "Tatshree, you should confront Jarasandha and defend Hastinapur. Vidur, try to find out the reason, why Jarasandha is making this sudden move against us. See if there is any possibility of negotiation to avoid conflict."
Bhishma, determined to protect Hastinapur, said, "There's no need to panic everyone. I WILL TAKE CARE OF JARASANDHA ALONE."
Dhritarashtra and Vidur were concerned but did not want anyone to worry. So they agreed with Bhishma.
With that, BHISHMA LEFT alone to confront Jarasandha.
Karna and Daksha had stopped outside the sabha, having overheard the conversation between the spy and the royal court. Daksha has paused to listen, and Karna, noticing this, stopped as well.
As Bhishma strode past them to confront Jarasandha, Daksha turned to Karna and handed him a letter, which he brought along with him. "Give this letter only to whom you trust. I have to go."
Daksha left in a hurry, leaving Karna standing there, letter in hand.
Karna watched Daksha disappear into the distance before looking down at the letter. With a determined expression, he turned and entered the royal sabha.
---------------------------------------------------------
Outside Hastinapur -
The army of Magadha, led by Jarasandha, stood on one side, their banners fluttering in the wind.
On the other side, Bhishma stood alone his resolve as unyielding as ever.
SOMEONE ELSE IS WATCHING THE SCENE FROM AFAR, THEIR IDENTITY HIDDEN.
Bhishma, riding his chariot, called out to Jarasandha across the battlefield. "Jarasandha, how dare you try to attack us! Until now, even though our kingdoms have been at odds, we have refrained from waging full-scale war against each other."
Jarasandha, smirking from his chariot, responded with a mocking tone, "Perhaps I am simply bored. What better way to spend my time than by engaging in a little sparring with you?"
Bhishma's eyes narrowed, his voice cold and determined. "Do not mistake this for a game. Hastinapur do not engage in war for sport. You either underestimated the strength of Hastinapur or me - who vowed to protect Hastinapur."
Jarasandha smirked, "Then let us see if your valor can match your words."
With that, the clash began. The battlefield erupted in chaos as the Magadha soldiers charged at Bhishma.
Bhishma fought valiantly, cutting through the ranks with ease.
Jarasandha, seeing his army is no match to Bhishma, decided to fight Bhishma himself.
However, it quickly became evident that Jarasandha was not attacking with full force. Instead, he seemed to be defending and maneuvering rather than attacking aggressively.
Bhishma noticed this unusual strategy, and saw through the ruse. He called out to Jarasandha, "Why do you hesitate, Jarasandha? Why are you wasting time by merely defending?"
Jarasandha's laughter echoed across the battlefield. "Ah, you've caught on, Gangaputra Bhishma. This plan was devised by Vritrasura. I am his ally, and this battle is nothing more than a distraction. While I keep you occupied here, the Asuras are searching the kingdom for the Suryaputra. Keeping you busy here is precisely what Vritrasura intended."
Bhishma's eyes widened in realization. "You're working with Vritrasura!! So this was a diversion all along. While you delay me here, the Asuras are searching for Karna?"
"Karna? Is Karna the Suryaputra? And this is their plan?" the mysterious watcher murmured in shock.
Jarasandha's laughter rang out as he continued to engage Bhishma, revealing the depth of the deception. "Indeed. By the time you realize what's happening, it will be too late. The Asuras will have already found the Yuvraj of Hastinapur."
"Jarasandha knew? He already know who and where exactly is the child Vritrasura is looking for?" The mysterious watcher says this to himself.
Determined to end the distraction, Bhishma unleashed his full power. With a fierce intensity, he fought through the Magadha forces, cutting down soldiers with precision and speed.
Within five minutes, Bhishma had turned the tide of the battle. He captured Jarasandha, binding him with the Nag Pasha - a powerful serpentine rope that completely constrained him.
Standing over the subdued Jarasandha, Bhishma declared, "Jarasandha, if anything happens to Karna, I will ensure your end is the most painful."
With that warning, Bhishma got on his chariot and told his charioteer, Adhirath, to hurry back to Hastinapur.
Adhirath nodded and asked, "Mahamahim, Will Karna be alright by the time we get back?"
Bhishma just said, "I hope so, Adhirath. I hope so."
As Bhishma was leaving, Jarasandha struggled to break free from the Nag Pasha. Just then, someone approached and freed him.
Jarasandha looked at the person with relief and asked, "You? What are you doing here? Don't just stand there - stop that Bhishma!!!"
The stranger looked at Jarasandha with a hint of disdain before drawing his bow and aiming at Bhishma's retreating figure. But then he lowered his bow and released the arrow into the ground.
Seeing this, Jarasandha asked, "Daksha? What are you doing?"
So the mysterious watcher is - DAKSHA.
Daksha smirked at Jarasandha and replied, "Why should I stop him? You were the one who was supposed to do that, and when you failed, you're asking my help?"
Frustration clear in his voice, Jarasandha said, "The Asuras must be searching for the Suryaputra right now. If Bhishma returns, we cannot find or take that Suryaputra with us. Vritrasura will not leave us if we fail."
Daksha's expression changed, and he drew a dagger, pressing it lightly against Jarasandha's throat, "I don't care about Vritrasura's anger. And let me be clear - I AM NOT HERE TO HELP YOU TAKE THAT CHILD, NOR WILL I ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO SUCCEED IN DOING SO."
Jarasandha tried to reason with him. "Did you not see what Vritrasura can do? He has been searching for that Suryaputra for six years now. If we fail now -"
Daksha cut him off sharply, his tone cold and commanding.
"Jarasandha, I know you were the one who instigated Vritrasura and caused him to come to us. And now, I also found out that you were aware that the child Vritrasura is searching for so desperately is the Yuvraj of Hastinapur. So, I AM WARNING YOU - If you don't want Vritrasura to find out your deceit and schemes which you made against him all these years, you better stay out of my way."
With that, Daksha turned and headed toward Hastinapur, leaving Jarasandha behind.
Jarasandha was visibly tensed of what would happen next. His mind raced. "Aahhh...., he is ruining everything..... and how does he even know about me and everything I've done..... I have to do something to take that Suryaputra with me to Vritrasura....."
Jarasandha thought of something and a sinister smirk spread across his face as he whispered, "MAHARANI GANDHARI...."
Then he mounted his chariot and whispered with an evil smile, "Which son would stay silent when his mother is in danger?"
