LOCATION - ASURA LOK

Vritrasura stood at the edge of his dark throne room as he prepared to leave. Today, he would meet his mother, Hiranya. But just as he was about to leave, a familiar presence halted his steps.

Saanvi approached him, Vritrasura raised a brow at her silence. "If you have something to say, Saanvi, use your words. Have you made your decision?"

Without hesitation, she replied, "Yes... I have decided." She paused, her voice carrying the weight of her decision. "I swear my loyalty to you. Please... teach me everything."

Vritrasura studied her, a flicker of satisfaction in his gaze, his lips curled slightly as if pleased. "Very well. I am going to meet someone now. When I return, your training will begin." With a final, assessing look, he turned and left, leaving Saanvi standing alone.

As soon as he was gone, Dakshara stepped forward, worry and confusion clear in his eyes. "Saanvi, my child, what are you doing? Why did you swear your loyalty to Vritrasura?"

Saanvi looked up at him, her face calm but firm. "Baba... You told me yourself that not just anyone can take me out of here. With Vritrasura holding me... no matter what I do, I can't leave this place. You've tried to help me escape without him knowing, but all attempts have been useless." she sighed, a hint of sadness in her voice. "Now, I see no way out. If I try to escape, I'll lose even the little freedom I have here. So... why not make myself stronger?"

Dakshara's face filled with worry, his voice almost pleading. "But, Putri, you know what Vritrasura will want from you. He will use you one day — against your own sister, Aaradhya."

Saanvi's expression softened briefly, a hint of sadness crossing her face, though she quickly masked it. "Baba, I was taken from my family when I was only four. I barely remember my parents. All I have are faint memories of my Aaru jiji." Her voice grew bitter. "And now, I've learned that she has forgotten me. Do you expect me to just sit here, waiting for her to come save me when she isn't even looking?"

With that, she turned to leave, but as she walked away, she looked back at Dakshara, her thoughts hidden beneath her calm exterior.

"I won't just sit here, waiting for Aaru jiji to come for me... I'll find my own way, even if it means... standing on my own. And Vritrasura... IF HE PLANS TO USE ME AS A WEAPON... THEN HE WILL HAVE TO WATCH CLOSELY TO SEE WHERE I DECIDE TO AIM..."

LOCATION - MAHENDRA GIRI

Vritrasura and Diti had come to speak with Hiranya. While Diti wanted to speak to her daughter first, Vritrasura stepped back, his attention drawn to something in the distance.

He noticed a young archer - Ekalavya - practicing archery. Ekalavya stood wearing a blindfold, aiming toward a shell hanging from a nearby tree.

Curious, Vritrasura moved closer to observe. What intrigued Vritrasura was not the blindfold, but the missing thumb on Ekalavya's right hand, yet Ekalavya still shot arrows with his left hand.

Vritrasura watched, impressed by the boy's skill and determination. With each shot, Ekalavya hit the target with remarkable accuracy.

Suddenly, Ekalavya sensed someone nearby. He quickly removed his blindfold and spotted Vritrasura. Without a moment's hesitation, he drew back his bow and released an arrow, aiming directly at the stranger - Vritrasura.

Vritrasura remained calm as the arrow flew toward him. A KAVACH appeared on him, and when the arrow struck the Kavach, it turned to ash upon impact.

Vritrasura stood still, unharmed, a faint smile on his face, admiring the boy's boldness.

"Who are you?" Ekalavya asked, curiosity laced with caution, his bow still at the ready.

Before Vritrasura could reply, Parashurama arrived. Vritrasura could feel the powerful aura from Parashurama. He knew that aura all too well — from the times when he asked for his boons, when he was imprisoned, when he met Krishna, and now Parashurama... The aura he felt from Parshurama was no mistake — and he knew exactly who Parashurama was — an avatar of Vishnu.

Without another word, Vritrasura turned and began walking away. His initial curiosity and admiration for the young archer was now overshadowed by the overwhelming presence of Parashurama.

As he made his way toward Diti, Vritrasura realized he no longer wished to stay. His mind now set on the reason he had come to Mahendra Giri in the first place. He just wanted to speak to his mother and leave this place...

Vritrasura approached Hiranya. The atmosphere between them was heavy with unspoken emotions. They stood in silence, mother and son, but the gap between them felt as wide as the ages that had passed since they last saw one another.

Hiranya, though calm on the surface, held back the storm of emotions that swirled inside her. She knew she must face her son, who has caused untold havoc across the three worlds. Yet, she was still his mother — torn between her duty to dharma and the maternal bond she still felt.

Vritrasura, on the other hand, looked at Hiranya with different emotions, anger, regret and longing. Angry, perhaps more at himself than his mother. Seeing Hiranya for the SECOND TIME in his eons of life, stirred emotions he thought long buried.

He tried to maintain his cold and distant demeanor, but deep down, he craved for her — perhaps to be with his mother, though his anger kept him from admiting it.

After what seemed like an eternity, he finally spoke, his voice cold, though his eyes betrayed the turmoil within. "After all these ages, you finally show yourself...."

Hiranya's voice was soft, filled with a sadness she could not hide. "Vritra... Will you not call me Mata?"

His voice came sharp, filled with bitterness. "Mata? Do I even have one? Are you even my mother?? If you are — then why is this only the second time I see you???"

Hiranya remained silent, and he looked directly at her and continued, "You abandoned me!! You left me to fend for myself after giving birth to me!! And when we met for the first time, you abandoned me again!"

Hiranya's voice steady, but filled with sorrow. "Putra... I had to leave because of my curse. It was never my choice to abandon you. And... When I learned of your boons and the havoc you were causing, I came to you... To tell you that you were doing wrong... To show you the right path... But... You... You were angry with me, turned away from me... and you tried to use your power on me... To control me..."

Vritrasura's anger boiled. "And why would I have done that? Because you abandonded me! And when you finally came to me you choose to leave me again..."

His voice was now filled with regret, "You could have stayed... guiding me... But instead...." His voice rose again, "You left me again... Whose fault is it that I turned out like this? It was your doing — Mata!"

Hiranya's gaze softened, tears welling in her eyes, though she held them back. "Do you think I wanted this? Every moment of every day, I have felt the pain of being separated from you. I had no choice but to leave you, to witness you suffering from afar..."

Vritrasura's voice faltered, vulnerability creeping in. "Mata... You have no idea what it was like... growing up without a mother... without love... without anyone to guide you to the right path..."

In that moment of vulnerability, Vritrasura sank to his knees, Hiranya knelt down as well, Vritrasura rested his head on Hiranya's lap, as though seeking the comfort he had longed for his entire life. Hiranya gently stroked his hair, the silence between them deep and sorrowful.

Vritrasura spoke again, his voice barely a whisper.

"When I learned about your curse from Mamashree Hiranyakashipu... I did penance... I knew I cannot ask for immortality. So I asked for boons to make myself so powerful and strong, untouched by death... so that I can be with you for eternity... sharing your curse... But... when I came back... I heard of Mamashree Hiranyakashipu's death, and I wanted to take revenge... So I fought the devas... After that, you came to me... But I was so angry that I failed to see the path you were showing and... When... When you tried to leave, I wanted to stop you somehow... Even if it means... to use my power... I just wanted to stop you from leaving me again... I never wanted to control you, Mata... But... even with my power... I could not control you... the first person that I failed to control... after I got the boon... And when you left me again... I... I was consumed by anger and revenge... I..."

Hiranya listened and caressing his hair, said, "Putra Vritra... it's not too late... Stay here with me... Leave everything behind... Forget about the revenge and the prophecy... We can live in peace just as you once wished..."

Vritrasura immediately looked at Hiranya and asked, "What?"

He muttered to himself. "Even if I leave the revenge... the prophecy..."

His resolve returned. HE STOOD ABRUPTLY, TURNING AWAY, KNOWING THAT IF HE LOOKED AT HIS MOTHER, HE WOULD CHANGE HIS MIND.

"No, Mata. I cannot." His voice faltered slightly, betraying a hint of regret. "The moment I was released from my imprisonment, I knew those two children are born... The prophecy..."

He paused briefly, he clenched his fists, battling the overwhelming desire to stay.

"The day I will kill those two children mentioned in the prophecy, then... I will come back to you... Then and only then, will we be together..."

With that he walked away, not turning back.

As Vritrasura walked away, Diti began to follow to stop him, but Hiranya's words stopped her in her tracks.

"Mata... How do I tell my son?" Hiranya whispered.

Diti, confused, turned back to her daughter. "What do you mean, Putri? Tell what?"

"How do I tell my son that in order to correct him... to end his path of destruction... I have tied myself to the child born with Mahadev's essence."

Diti shocked by this revealation, asked, "What!? What are you saying, Putri? I don't understand."

Hiranya looked at her mother Diti and broke down.

"How do I tell him... Mata... that the moment he kills the child carrying Mahadev's essence he would lose me as well... Forever..."

BACK TO VRITRASURA

Before leaving Mahendra Giri, Vritrasura's eyes once again fell upon Ekalavya. Impressed not by the boy's status or lineage but by the boy's skill and determination, he decided to give Ekalavya a gift.

Approaching Ekalavya, Vritrasura extended his hand, and a gleaming bow materialized from thin air.

Ignoring Parashurama, who was with Ekalavya, Vritrasura addressed the boy directly.

"Here... this is for you... Consider it a gift..." Vritrasura said, his tone causal.

Ekalavya hesitated, confusion crossing his face. "Why would you give this to me?"

Parashurama, observing everything, knew exactly who Vritrasura was. He stepped forward, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "What are your intentions, Vritrasura? Gifts from those like you never come without expectations. Why would you give something without seeking anything in return?"

Vritrasura's smile was faint, almost indifferent, as though engaging with Parashurama was of little interest to him. "I am impressed by this boy." he said, his voice calm and unconcerned. "Even without his right thumb, he has mastered the bow with a resolve few possess. This is simply a gift from one warrior to another — a gesture of respect... no more, no less."

Parashurama still unconvinced, warned Ekalavya. "Be cautious, Putra. Gifts from strangers, especially those with great power, are never what they seem. A warrior must always be wary of what is given freely. Even the mightiest warrior can cloak a deadly secret in a seemingly honorable gesture."

Ekalavya's gaze shifted between his Gururdev and Vritrasura, still hesitant to accept.

Vritrasura, sensing this hesitation, he addressed Ekalavya again, his tone cold but sincere. "I ask for nothing from you in return... I see your skill and your will to rise above, even after what you have lost — That is why I gift you this bow. Not every gesture comes with a hidden price..."

Ekalavya seeing his Gurudev nod in approval, he accepted the bow with respect. "This bow... it looks divine..." he said as he looked at the bow.

Vritrasura merely smirked. "Indeed it is divine... This bow is known as VAJRA DANUSH..."

He turned to leave, his steps slow and deliberate. As he began to walk away, his voice echoed through the air. "The one who gave me this bow specially crafted it for me, claiming there is no other like it. Arrows shot from this bow will strike with the force of a thunderbolt, capable of stunning or even paralyzing your enemies temporarily. And remember... NO WEAPON OF INDRA CAN HARM THE ONE WHO WIELDS THIS BOW."

With that said, Vritrasura vanished into thin air.

---------------------------------------------------------

What does this act reveal about Vritrasura's character? Is he merely a force of destruction, driven by whims, unpredictability, malice or ego?

His casual gifting of a bow of immense power, not out of generosity but out of recognition of skill, seems almost indifferent. It shows he doesn't need to flaunt his power, he holds it with such ease that gifting divine weapons is a trivial matters to him. In a world filled with ambition, does power always need to be tied to domination, or can it simply be a tool, wielded in unpredictable ways?

Is Vritrasura merely a villain, or is there more to him than meets the eye? Can an antagonist truly be both a benefactor and a threat? Is that even possible?

Is Vritrasura purely evil, or is he a more complex, gray character, whose motivations might stem from personal experiences or a desire for chaos?

As we contemplate these questions, we uncover layers of Vritrasura's character that challenge the notion of pure evil. In his actions, do we see a warrior bound by a code of honor, or a harbinger of chaos with a more personal agenda? Only time will reveal the full spectrum of his intentions and the impact they will have on the unfolding story.

FLASHBACK

After receiving his boons, Vritrasura challenged Indra, the king of the Devas to a duel.

It wasn't for the throne, Vritrasura had no interest in ruling the heavens. He fought simple to show his power, his strength and his sheer superiority.

The once-proud king of the Devas found himself exhausted and defeated in Vritrasura's hands.

Unable to contain his rising anger, Indra finally asked. "If you don't want the throne, why fight me, Vritrasura? What do you want?"

Vritrasura chuckled, his voice laced with playful mischief. "Maybe just for fun." he shrugged, as if defeating Indra was nothing more than a game.

Indra frowned, irritation clear in his voice. "Then leave already. You've shown your power and you've had your fun. Why are you still here?"

Vritrasura's gaze remained impassive, but there was a certain spark of amusement in his eyes. "Perhaps, a better way to show my power is to make you give me something you don't even own yet... Then I might just leave..."

Indra was taken aback by the audacity of the statement, he asked, cautiously. "And what would that be?"

Vritrasura looked at Indra, with a smirk. "Surprise me."

Indra thought for a moment, he sighed in frustration. Closing his eyes, he summoned his divine energy. A magnificent bow began to materialize, shimmering with divine light.

Indra proudly presented the weapon. "Vritrasura, I present to you — the Vajra Danush."

Vritrasura looked at the bow, his expression uninterested. "Seriously? This is what you offer?"

Indra, undeterred by Vritrasura's lack of enthusiasm, straightened himself. "This bow is no ordinary weapon. Arrows shot from it will strike with the force of a thunderbolt, capable of stunning or even paralyzing your enemies temporarily. There is no bow like it in all the three realms."

Still unimpressed, Vritrasura raised an eyebrow. "Anything else?"

Indra realized that Vritrasura was not the type to be easily satisfied. Growing irritated, he snapped, "Fine! No weapon of mine can harm the one who wields this bow." He gritted his teeth, silently cursing the arrogance of Vritrasura in his mind as he thought, "Just take it already. What I'm offering is more than I wish to give."

Vritrasura's smirk widened, "Now that's more intresting. I accept." He took the bow and left without another word, leaving Indra fuming 😤

As Vritrasura vanished from sight, Indra stood still, rubbing his temple. "Vritrasura... he doesn't care for power. He only seeks chaos... A dangerous one, indeed. Someone who could not be easily controlled."

With Vritrasura's mocking grin still burned in his mind, Indra realized that this confrontation was far from over. His mind raced with the thoughts of what Vritrasura might do with the bow — What If Vritrasura wields that bow against him or the Devas? And Indra could only hope that the power he had gifted would not return to haunt him.

---------------------------------------------------------

PRESENT - SWARGA, AMRAVATI, INDRA'S ABODE

Indra paced his grand hall, fuming with barely restrained anger. His eyes were fixed on a divine mirror reflecting scenes of the mortal world below.

The image before him was infuriating — Vritrasura, the very being who had once challenged his might, was now causally handing the divine Vajra Dhanush to Ekalavya, a mere tribal boy.

Indra clenched his fists, as he muttered to himself, "If not for Vritrasura, I would have made that bow specifically for my son, Arjun. And now, Vritrasura is giving it to Arjun's rival?"

The thought alone hurt his pride. Not only had Vritrasura once defied him, but now he was empowering the very person who threatened Arjun's glory. This was a sight, one that Indra could not - and would not - overlook.

His brooding was interrupted by soft voices echoing from the inner chambers of the palace. Curious, Indra headed toward the sound. In one of the rooms, his wife Saachi and son Jayant were getting ready.

"Mata, if we don't hurry, we'll be late," Jayant urged, adjusting his attire.

"We won't be late, Putra," Shachi replied calmly, adjusting her earrings. "Just make sure your father doesn't see us, otherwise we will definitely be late."

Indra froze as he heard his wife's words. His curiosity piqued. "Where are there planning to sneak off without telling me?" He thought.

Determined to find out, Indra stormed into the room. "What's going on here? Why are you both getting ready? Where are you going?"

Shachi glared at her son as if scolding him silently. "I told you to take care of your father!" Jayant, avoided her gaze and shifted the responsibility back to his mother with a look that said, "Mata, you only handle your husband."

Shachi, feigning nonchalance, continued adjusting her earrings. "Oh, Arya, you didn't know?" She exchanged a knowing look with Jayant, who stifled a laugh. "We're going to a party."

Indra's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "A party? What party? And why didn't I know about it?"

Jayant chuckled softly but kept quiet, leaving his mother to handle the situation. Shachi stepped closer to Indra with a playful grin. "You're not invited, Arya. Saranyu Jiji personally requested that you not attend. She's hosting the party because Karna is coming to Suryalok, and she wants to show-off her son to everyone."

Indra was shocked, his eyes wide with disbelief. Shachi continued, oblivious to her husband's incoming heart attack.

"Chayya Jiji also mentioned that all the family members, all the Devas, Gandharvas, Apsaras, Devguru Brihaspati, etc... will be there."

Jayant couldn't control himself as he added. "Everyone except you, Pitashree. It's going to be a grand event."

Indra's heart pounded. A celebration in Suryalok, and not a single word to him? His own family had deliberately excluded him... again?

With a forced smile, Indra stepped forward, "Is that so? Well.... Invited or not, I think I'll join you both."

Shachi's smile faltered slightly as she heard her husband. "Arya, Saranyu Jiji was quite firm in her request that you—"

Indra waved her off, his voice leaving no room for argument. "Enough. Today, I WILL FIND OUT, BY HOOK OR BY CROOK, why everyone is so angry with me."

His mind raced. He knew something was wrong. And now, not even a proper invitation to such a grand gathering? "If they thought they could keep something from the King of the Devas, they were mistaken. I will attend that gathering, and I will find out why my family, my own kin, are treating me like an outsider."

Indra straightened his royal robes and said, "Let's go! We don't want to be late for this 'party' do we?"

Without waiting for a response, Indra began marching out of the room, his mind set on uncovering the truth. Shachi and Jayant exchanged a glance.

Jayant whispered to Shachi, "Mata, what happens now?"

Shachi sighed, shaking her head. "I don't know, Putra. But if your father causes trouble, I swear I will make sure he doesn't get entry to Indralok for a long time."

---------------------------------------------------------

In Suryalok, preparations were in full swing for the grand party.

Saranyu was everywhere, checking each detail, her attention darting from decorations to food arrangements, ensuring everything was perfect for her son's arrival. Right beside her, Chhaya matched her energy, overseeing everything.

Saranyu glanced over, calling, "Chhaya, are the decorations in the main hall complete?"

Chhaya nodded with a smile, "Yes, Saranyu Jiji, the final touches are being done."

Just then, Dhumorna, Yama's wife, joined them, carrying a tray of delicacies. "Mata, decorations and dining arrangements are all set. We're only missing a few dishes, which are being prepared right now."

Dhamini, Shani's wife, approached with an aarti thali, "Mata, here is the aarti thali to welcome Karna. Is there anything else you need?"

Chhaya stepped forward, "Putri, could you also check that the lamps near the entrance are placed properly? We want the whole pathway to shine brightly as he arrives."

Saranyu nodded in approval. "Dhamani place the aarti thali at the entrance, and Chhaya, let's go over the guest list one more time to make sure we haven't missed anyone."

While the mothers and daughters-in- law were busy.

Meanwhile, the younger generation of Suryalok gathered nearby, watching the hustle and bustle.

Yama, the eldest, looked at his siblings, sensing their questions before they even spoke.

Tapti nudged Yama, an amused smile on her face, "Jyesth, don't you think Mata is going a bit overboard? We are finally meeting our Anuj, but here she is, hosting a party that looks more like preparations for his wedding than a welcome party!"

Yami giggled. "Tapti, if this is how she's welcoming him, imagine what she'll do for his actual marriage!"

Yama chuckled, then, as the eldest, explained, "Mata Saranyu and Mata Chhaya want to introduce Karna to everyone in a grand way. They've both missed him for so long, after all."

Yami nodded, smiling fondly. "Tapti, we'll just have to make sure Anuj knows he can always come to us if he ever needs anything."

Shani rolled his eyes, teasing them. "Oh please. When he has elder brothers, why would he need his sisters to help him out? He'll come to us first obviously if he ever needs anything."

Then Ashwini twins, grinned at each other. Nasatya said, "We'll make sure Anuj is part of our pranks everyday!" Dasra, added, "And if anyone dares to bother him, they'll have to deal with us first!"

Yama chuckled at their playful enthusiasm. "You two already seem determined to keep him all to yourselves, don't you?"

The twins grinned proudly. "Of course, Jyesth. He's our only younger brother, and we'll have to protect him!"

Yama nodded approvingly before addressing them all. "Just remember, KARNA IS THE YOUNGEST AMONG US. As his elder brothers and sisters, it is our duty to take care of him together."

Everyone nodded. And, while they were busy talking. Saranyu noticed her children huddled together, chatting excitedly. Saranyu walked over with Chayya, hands on their hips with mock-stern looks.

"Here you all are, just standing around! Everyone will be arriving soon, and none of you are even ready!" Saranyu scolded them lightly, though her tone held a hint of affection.

Chhaya added with a smile, "Go on now, all of you."

Turning to Yami and Tapti, Chhaya continued, "You two, go and get ready quickly. We want you both here before Karna arrives."

Yami and Tapti nodded, rushing off.

Saranyu then looked at the brothers, raising an eyebrow, no words were needed as they understood.

Shani immediately said, "Jyesth!!! Let's go and check where Pitashree is..."

Saranyu nodded but called out, "Putra Yama, wait a moment!"

Yama stopped and turned back. "Ji Mata?"

"Make sure your father brings Karna here directly," Saranyu said, her eyes narrowing slightly. "He better not drop my son off somewhere... again..."

Yama grinned, understanding his mother's words. "Don't worry, Mata. I'll make sure Pitashree brings him here directly."

Both mothers exchanged pleased looks, seeing how eager everyone was for Karna's arrival.

Chhaya smiled at Saranyu as Yama left. "Our family is finally complete, Jiji," she said, her eyes shinning with pride.

Saranyu nodded, her voice softening. "Yes, Chhaya. And we'll make sure Karna feels that he's home."

Now, only the Ashwini twins were left standing before them, with innocent smiles on their faces. They looked at each other, then back at Saranyu and Chhaya, and asked. "Mata, can we taste-test the sweets before anyone arrives?"

Saranyu chuckled, shaking her head at their antics. "Not a chance, my dear troublemakers. I know all of your pranks. Instead, go get yourselves ready, and make sure you let me know as soon as Karna arrives. And remember — don't let your Anuj enter until l come. Understood?"

The twins looked at each other, mischievous glints in their eyes, before grinning back at their mothers. "Mata, don't worry. We'll give him a proper welcome... exactly the way he deserves!"

Saranyu narrowed her eyes playfully. "Nasatya, Dasra, I know that tone. Just make sure you're welcoming him, not causing chaos!"

Chhaya twisted their ears lightly, as she said. "We've prepared so much for this day, let's make it perfect for your brother. We want everything to go smoothly. Which means — No pranks — understood?"

The twins rubbed their ears, feigning innocence. "Of course, Mata! We'll be on our best behaviour." But as soon as they turned around, they exchanged a silent look that clearly said otherwise. They were already planning how they would make the day memorable for their little brother.

As they dashed off, Saranyu and Chhaya shared a knowing smile, fully aware that 'the best behaviour' likely meant a prank or two.

Both mothers, together, they had prepared for this day with love, Karna was finally coming home, and they wanted to make this day as perfect as they could, to welcome Karna into his family.

---------------------------------------------------------

Karna arrived at the grand, radiant entrance of palace in Suryalok, feeling a mix of excitement and curiosity. Beside him, Suryadev placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, as if guiding him into this new world where his family awaited.

Karna's heart raced as he saw 'six figures' gathered to welcome him. The brilliant, golden aura of the palace was both magnificent and humbling, and the warmth of their smiles made his feel instantly at home.

He looked at the group, silently matching names to faces based on what Suryadev had told him on the way.

First, his gaze landed on a calm yet authoritative figure who commanded respect with his mere presence. Karna thought to himself, "This must be Jyesth, my eldest brother, Yama."

Next to his Jyesth Yama stood a warm, gentle presence with a kind, sisterly gaze. "This must be Yami Didi." Karna thought, his heart swelling with affection for her even before they'd spoken a word.

Karna's eyes met another sibling's piercing yet playful gaze, and he smiled inwardly. "So, you must be Shani Bhaiyya, the one with the keen eye and sharp wit."

Moving on, he spotted another girl, whose lively presense added a spark to the gathering. Having already guessed Yami, he knew she had to be his other sister. "Tapti Didi," he thought, smiling.

Finally, his eyes fell on the last two - a pair of identical figures with mischievous grins, their eyes sparkling with excitement and, undoubtedly, mischief. "Ah, so these two must be the Ashwini twins, Bhrata Nasatya and Bhrata Dasra — the pranksters Pitashree warned me about!" he concluded, stifling a smile as he remembered Suryadev's stories about their endless pranks.

Karna stepped forward and respectfully touched each sibling's feet, beginning with Yama and moving down the line. As he greeted the twins, Nasatya and Dasra exchanged a mischievous look.

Nasatya leaned toward Dasra, whispering, "Let's give him a — splashing welcome!"

Quietly, they slipped away, unnoticed by most.

Karna saw them and could already guess what they had in mind, but he pretended not to notice and continued talking to his siblings, waiting for the perfect moment to turn the tables.

Suryadev, standing behind Karna, also noticed the twins slip away and saw them return, each holding a large bucket filled with water. Knowing exactly what they were planning and how could he let his youngest son fall prey? So he started to call out, "Karn-" but before he could finish, the twins tossed the bucket's contents forward — expecting to drench their little brother.

At the last second, Karna grinned and vanished in a flash, reappearing just behind his father. Suryadev ended up taking the full burnt of the splash, water cascaded over him, drenching him from head to toe.

The twins gasped, eyes wide with horror as they dropped the empty buckets. "P-Pitashree?" Nasatya stammered, frozen in shock. Dasra's jaw dropped, struggling to process what had just happened.

Unable to hold back, Karna burst into laughter. "Oh, was that meant for me?" he teased, winking at the twins. "You'll have to be quicker if you want to catch me!"

Suryadev, wiping water from his face, glared at the twins. For a moment, he tried to maintain a stern expression, but Karna's laughter was contagious. Soon, even Suryadev's glare melted into a fond smile as he looked at his youngest son.

Saranyu and Chhaya arrived just in time to witness the scene. They gasped at the sight of a drenched Suryadev and the wide-eyed twins. Seeing the twins latest prank gone wrong - without a word - Saranyu grabbed Nasatya by the ear, while Chhaya took hold of Dasra, each mother twisting an ear with just enough firmness to make their point.

Saranyu scolded lightly, "What were you two thinking? Is this how you welcome your little brother?"

"Mata!" Nasatya protested, putting on his most innocent face for Saranyu. "We were only trying to..." Dasra completed the sentence, "welcome our little brother with a surprise!" he said, looking at Chhaya with a pleading expression.

Chhaya sighed, shaking her head. "And look who ended up getting surprised instead."

Finally, Saranyu and Chhaya turned to Karna, who stepped forward, looking between the two with a smile. "Mata Saranyu? Mata Chhaya?" he asked, his voice full of respect. He already knew in his heart who they were, but the words felt natural, like he'd known them forever.

Saranyu's face softened, pride and affection clear in her eyes as she nodded. "Yes, my child." She gently cupped Karna's face, placing a kiss on his forehead, followed by Chhaya, whose smile conveyed a thousand unspoken words of welcome.

Just then, Dhumorna, Yama's wife, arrived with an aarti plate to formally welcome Karna. Beside her was Dhamini, Shani's wife, both of them showering him with flower petals as they performed the aarti together. Karna bowed respectfully to each, taking their blessings.

As the aarti concluded, Saranyu addressed her children with a smile. "Take Karna inside and help him get ready. We have guests arriving soon."

The siblings eagerly led Karna inside.

Chhaya turned to her still-drenched husband with a smirk. "Arya, got pranked by your own children, I see?" She teased.

Suryadev raised an eyebrow, trying to look dignified even as water dripped from his hair. "Who says I wasn't in on the prank?" he retorted, attempting to regain some of his dignity.

Saranyu tried to look serious, "Honestly, Arya, are you going to greet out guests like this? You're supposed to be the host of this party, not competing with our children in pranks!"

Suryadev let's out a dramatic sigh, rolling his eyes. "It seems my own family finds amusement in my misfortune."

Meanwhile, Karna's siblings led him into the grand halls of the palace, each competing to introduce him to their favorite corners and recounting countless stories of mischief, and memories.

Nasatya and Dasra, still thinking about their failed prank, looked at Karna, clearly plotting their next attempt.

Karna, catching them looking at him, and grinned. "Careful, Bhrata, you both are looking a little too suspicious." he teased.

Dasra laughed, shaking his head. "You're good, little brother, but we'll get you next time!"

Karna gave them a challenging smile. "I'd like to see you try!"

Once they were in a lavish chamber, Yami and Tapti took charge, pulling Karna along as they discussed the perfect attire for him.

Yami held a beautiful golden outfit adorned with intricate embroidery, "This is perfect for you."

Meanwhile, Tapti selected matching jewels.

"Yami Didi, Tapti Didi, I think I'm fine as I am." Karna protested. "No need for all this!"

"Nonsense! You're our little brother and the youngest prince of Suryalok! You deserve to look the part." Yami insisted with sisterly authority.

Tapti nodded, placing a golden armband around his upper arm. "Besides, you're outnumbered here. Just let us pamper you for once!"

Once Karna wore his outfit, the Ashwini twins, joined in, fussing over him as they helped him — Nasatya adjusting the folds of his robe, while Dasra styled his hair.

Karna looked at Yama and Shani, who were clearly enjoying the scene, and they finally stepped forward only to tell their little brother to accept his fate.

Finally, Karna stood before them, transformed, looking every bit the prince of Suryalok. He caught his reflection in a nearby mirror and couldn't help but smile. The love and care of his siblings surrounded him, and for the first time, Karna truly felt like he was exactly where he belonged...

As Karna entered the main hall, his eyes swept over the beautifully decorated space and the guests who had already gathered, their expressions warm and curious as they looked his way.

Curious, Karna turned to his eldest brother. "Jyesth, what's so special about today?"

Yama smiled, pinching Karna's nose. "It's for you, little brother. Our mothers wanted to show off their youngest son to everyone."

Karna flinched at the pinch, his face scrunching up in surprise as he lightly swatted at Yama's hand, a playful frown tugging at his lips. He hadn't expected to be treated like such a child, and for a moment, he felt a bit embarrassed.

Then, his eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't expected this — to be the center of attention. A shy smile tugged at his lips as he looked around at his family and the guests who had come to welcome him. "For me?" he murmured, his voice soft with disbelief. The love and affection in the room made him realize just how cherished he was in this divine family.

Then Yama excused himself with a simple, "I have some important work to attend to." His eldest brother's departure left Karna standing among the guests, and before he could fully process it, the Ashwini twins dashed off toward the sweets table. Yami and Tapti also wandered off to greet the other guests, leaving Shani to stay by Karna's side.

Shani began introducing Karna to the guests who had gathered. One by one, Karna met - Kubera, Chandra Dev, Parjanya, Dhanvantari, Dev Guru Brihaspati. Each greeting was warm, and Karna felt honored to be in the presence of such divine beings.

As they reached the Gandharvas and the Apsaras — Karna felt a shift in the air.

They began to circle Karna, their eyes filled with playful glints. They teased and flirted, and Karna could hardly meet their gazes. His cheeks flushed with a deep crimson, and he looked for any help from his siblings, not knowing how to handle their attention. Their stares felt almost too much to bear, like a thousand eyes pricking his skin.

Shani, observing his brother's discomfort, stepped forward. "Ladies," he said firmly, his voice rich with authority. "Leave my brother now. If Mata Saranyu hears of this, I don't think you will want to be near him again."

At the mention of Saranyu's name, the Apsaras and Gandharava princesses immediately scattered, for Saranyu had already warned them — no flirting with her youngest son.

Karna sighed deeply, muttering under his breath, "Uff, finally, I can breathe."

"Narayana, Narayana!!"

Karna turned to see who had spoken, and there, walking toward him, was none other than Rishi Narada. The sound of his Veena filled the air, its soothing melody weaving through the hall.

Shani introduced Karna to the sage. "This is Rishi Narada, the great seer and master of divine music."

Karna, ever respectful, immediately bowed. "Rishi Narada, it is an honor to meet you."

Narada's smile widened at the greeting. Without missing a beat, he raised his Veena, strumming a single note that seemed to resonate with the very fabric of time itself.

Then, in his deep voice, Narada spoke:

"You see a path ahead, yet not ahead — A journey walked, but never tread.

In the dance of time, which will it be?

The past you've lived, or the future you will see?"

Karna stood in confusion. The riddle felt like a puzzle that could not be solved. He looked at Narada, waiting for him to explain.

Seeing Karna's confusion, Narada smiled knowingly, and again said,

"Narayana, Narayana!"

Then, his gaze sharpened, and he spoke again, this time more simply:

"The answer lies within you, but it will only be revealed when the time is right.

What you see — is it the path ahead, the one you've yet to walk?

What if — it's the one you've already walked?"

Karna tried to understand the cryptic words. Rishi Narada's gaze lingered for a moment longer before he turned to leave, his Veena playing softly in the background.

Shani, sensing the confusion on Karna's face, leaned in closer. "Do not let Narada's words trouble you little brother. He speaks in riddles, but beneath them lies wisdom. You will understand what they mean when the time is right."

Karna nodded, though a sense of unease lingered in his heart. What did those words mean?

But for now, Karna chose to push aside the doubts, focusing on the warmth and love that filled the hall. The guests, the greetings, and most importantly the affection of his family — this was what mattered now.

-----------

As the party inside continued in full swing, a 'small' stir began outside at the palace entrance.

Indra, the king of the gods, had arrived with his wife, Shachi, and son, Jayant, determined to attend the Party. But instead of receiving a warm welcome, Indra was met with an unexpected face: Yama.

Yama, looked at Shachi and Jayant with a smile. "Choti Ma, why did you come so late? You know Mata has been waiting for you, she was going to send Shani to fetch you. Go inside, you too Jayant, you both are most welcome."

Then Yama looked at Indra, his expression serious. "But Chote Pitashree.... You have no entry here."

Indra's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Putra Yama, how can you say this? I am your —"

Before he could finish, Suryadev arrived at the scene. At the sight of his elder brother, Indra's face lit up, "Jyesth Vivasvan!!!" He called out.

Suryadev looked at Indra, giving him a flat stare. "Ah, Indra... What brings you here?"

Indra hurriedly blurted, "Jyesth, Tell Putra Yama to let me in! I am your brother! The king of devas! How can you do this to me?"

Suryadev rolled his eyes, and muttered to himself, "Now also he has to use his title..."

Turning to Yama, Suryadev gave a casual order. "Putra Yama, make sure that uninvited guests do not enter. And if they insist..." He looked directly at Indra. "... Escort them straight to your abode."

Yama nodded, and Suryadev left without looking back. Indra opened and closed his mouth like a fish looking at his Jyesth leaving.

Shachi smirked and turned to Jayant, "Putra, let's go. We don't want to miss the party."

But Indra grabbed her arm, a pout forming on his face. "Shachi... Priye... You are not going to leave me here... alone... are you?"

Shachi raised an eyebrow at her husband as if to say, I warned you.

"I told you, Arya, you weren't invited. Yet, you insisted on coming anyway — and now you want me to stay outside with you? Really?"

Yama and Jayant, both watching with a slight smirk.

Indra nodded in his usual stubborn manner, as though that made perfect sense. Shachi rolled her eyes, but before she could reply, Aryaman and his wife Usha arrived.

As soon as Indra spotted them, he immediately called out, "Anuj!!!" rushing over to his younger brother.

"Anuj! Tell me, what did I do? Why is everyone angry with me?"

Aryaman was ready to answer, but his wife, held his hand. Aryaman looked at his wife, and saw her glaring at him, her look a silent warning: One word, and you'll have to deal with me later!" Aryaman gulps, understanding her silent message, and he turned back to Indra with a forced smile. "Bhrata Indra... I cannot say anything," his voice apologetic but his eyes darting nervously to his wife. "Besides, it was Jyesth Vivasvan who said not to tell you anything."

Indra's frustration grew.

Next, Varuna Dev and his wife Varuni arrived. Rushing over to them, Indra blocked their path, desparate. "Bhrata Varuna!! See how Jyesth is treating me? Surely you'll help me, right?"

Varuna raised a hand to silence him, shaking his head. "Sorry, Anuj." With that, he brushed past Indra, leaving Indra speechless. Of course, Varuni already warned her husband before they left to Suryalok.

Indra practically stomped his foot. "This is ridiculous!"

Meanwhile, Shachi and Jayant were watching the whole drama. Jayant leaned closer to his mother, whispering, "Mata, is this what Pitashree meant when he said he would attend the party and would find out 'by hook or by crook'?"

Shachi whispered back, "It looks like it, Putra. I told him he shouldn't have come. And now, Just look at your father — he's begging every family member to help him get in."

Yama heard her and was trying his best not to laugh, but Jayant couldn't hold back his laughter, not after watching his father, who was now on the verge of throwing a tantrum like a child.

Just then, Rishi Kashyapa and Mata Aditi arrived.

Indra's face lit up like a bright star. "At last, someone who understands me. Mata will help me!!" he thought.

"Mata!!! 😭" he cried, practically rushing towards Aditi with open arms.

But to his shock, Aditi didn't even look at him. She just walked past him as if he didn't exist.

Indra stood there, mouth agape. "Mata...? I am your favorite son..."

Hearing this, Aditi looked at Indra - only to say. "I did not raise my sons to be... beggars," Her words were like a double-edged remark. She was not only mocking his current situation but also referring to the Kavach Kundals incident which of course Indra did not know yet...

Indra's jaw dropped till Patala.

"Did Mata just... call me... a beggar? Me? The king of the gods?" He stammered in disbelief.

As Indra struggled to recover from the shock, Aditi turned to Shachi, "Putri Shachi, did I not teach you how to keep your husband in line?"

Shachi nodded, sighing dramatically, "Yes, Mata. But Arya... " She glances at Indra and then continued, as if she had been waiting for this moment for ages. "Mata, I don't even know where to start with Arya! He never listens to me."

Indra groaned, knowing where this was going, but Shachi was only warming up. She turned to Jayant, "Putra Jayant, do you remember the time your father decided to control the rain just to show off?" She put on a mock-deep voice, imitating her husband. "'Oh, I am the king of Devas, I control the heavens, I control the rain!' But does he check to see where he's pouring it? No! Instead, he flooded half of the Rishi Agasthya's ashram!"

Indra muttered, "It was only a little rain..."

"A little rain?" Shachi glared, hands on her hips. "The Rishi's herbs were floating down the hill! And then, instead of apologizing, you declared it a 'celestial blessing'!"

Indra opened his mouth to argue, but saw his mother glaring at him.

Aditi calmly asked, "Anything else, Putri?"

Shachi was on a roll, playing no mind to Indra's misery. "Mata, you should hear what he does at home! Once he was sneaking around the palace at night for who knows why. Only he wasn't sneaky! He tripped over a guard, knocked down a suit of celestial armor, and caused such a ruckus that half of Swargalok thought we were under attack! And of course, he blamed the poor guard for not 'recognizing the king of gods.'"

Shachi turned to Indra, "This is the man who calls himself 'king of the gods' but he hardly even remembers where he leaves his own crown!"

Indra looked between his wife and mother, sighing in resignation. "Priye... Mata... I am, after all, the king of devas..."

Jayant let out a small chuckle, whispering to Yama. "More like the king of chaos." To which Yama nodded agreeing.

Shachi rolled her eyes at her husband's words. "Arya, should I tell Mata what happened during your 'celestial meeting' last month?"

Indra instantly said, "Priye, maybe not...?"

But Shachi was already grinning as she turned to Aditi. "Mata, Last month during a celestial meeting, as 'the king of devas' your son here decided the devas needed a motivational speech on 'celestial bravery.' So he gathered everyone to the courtyard, gave a speech that lasted... I don't know... five hours? By the time he finished, even Chandra Dev and Nidra Devi are yawning."

Indra defended, "They were inspired! They wanted to hear more."

Shachi shook her head. "Inspired? Arya, they were bored! Agnidev was muttering about 'getting back to work,' and half the apsaras had drifted off to sleep." She looked at Aditi, exasperated. "And when I tried to stop him, he ignored me, of course."

Shachi smiled sweetly, as she leaned in closer to Aditi, speaking softly but clearly. "Mata, your son has a habit of ignoring me unless things go wrong. When I do try to keep him in line, he says I'm overreacting."

Aditi nodded. "I understand completely, Putri. Let's go inside — I'll teach you some new methods on how to bring him back in line." She turned to Indra one last time, a stern glare that left no room for argument.

With that Aditi gestured her daughters-in-laws to follow her, leaving behind the men. Rishi Kashyapa, Varuna, Aryaman, followed, obediently behind their wives.

Shachi is about to join them when Indra catches her arm again, giving her his most helpless look. "Priye... wait... since you are going inside..."

His next words came out in a speed of lighting.

"YouladiesgossipsomuchsocouldyoujustfindoutfromsaranyubhabhishreeandmatawhyeveryoneissoangrywithmeIwillwaitheretillyoureturn."

Shachi stares at him, as if he just spoke in an alien language. "Arya, what did you say? Speak clearly!"

Indra takes a deep breath, repeating, "You ladies gossip so much... so could you... just... find out from Saranyu Bhabhi Shree and Mata why everyone is so angry with me.... I will wait here till you return."

Jayant, who was watching the whole drama without popcorn, bursts into laughter, clutching his stomach. "Pitashree, you said you'd find out the reason by hook or by crook. Is this how you planned to do it?" he teased.

Indra glared at his son, "Jayant, Enough!"

But Shachi was having none of it. She crossed her arms. "Oh, don't you dare scold my son, Arya. What wrong did he say? Look at you! At home, you're all high and mighty, and here, you're begging like a child asking his mother for sweet outside sweet shop."

Indra's face fell, but Shachi only continued. "Stay here, and don't make a scene. I'll find out what happened — which you clearly haven't managed."

With that Shachi and Jayant went inside.

And...

Indra looked around, he wasn't going to give up. He saw his Mitra Vayu Dev and Hanuman arriving.

With a quick glance to make sure Yama was looking elsewhere, Indra attempted to slip behind Hanuman, hoping to not be seen - only to find Yama's hand firmly on his shoulder.

"Chote Pitashree..." Yama said, with an amused look, "... No matter how many times you try, you aren't getting in."

"Why does he have to be so good at his job?" Indra muttered, and immediately attempted to save face, brushing imaginary dust off his shoulders and standing up straighter. "Putra Yama... I was merely... inspecting the entrance, ensuring the decor is to my standards. After all, I am the king of the devas." He lifted his chin, hoping to regain some dignity.

But just as he finished, SOMEONE ELSE ARRIVED, and that person heard Yama stopping Indra...

Indra's proud stance faltered, when he saw that person and he muttered under his breath, "No... Not him... Of all the devas... Why he has to see me like this?"

Indra looked at the person who was smirking at him, irritation clear in his tone, Indra asked, "What are you doing here, Agni Dev?"

Agni Dev crossed his arms, smirk widening. "Well, I am 'invited' so I am 'going in.' I just happened to notice you standing here — like a gatekeeper."

Indra fuming with anger 😤, "I am the King of devas and I am welcoming guests standing here," he snapped, clearly offended at being called 'gatekeeper' he continued, "Jyesth Vivasvan is soooo... busy inside that I have to personally look after everything outside."

Agni Dev rolled his eyes, clearly not buying it. "Sure, Indra... Whatever you say..." After a moment of silence, he starts, "By the way, Indra..."

Indra looked at Agni Dev and thought, "Just go already... I am not in mood..."

Agni Dev asked, "I heard you gave your prized horse — Ucchaishravas to Suryadev. Everyone is gossiping about it."

Indra's eyes widened as he thought to himself, "Ma!!😭😭 My reputation!!! Is what happened today not enough? Why do I have to hear this now? And that too from the most annoying Dev I know aka Agni Dev!"

(A/N - according to Indra 👉 Annoying Dev === Agni Dev)

Indra replied with a huff, "Well... Jyesth Vivasvan... asked me nicely for the horse... in a way I simply couldn't say... no..."

Agni Dev raised an eyebrow. "Right. 'Couldn't say no,' or couldn't stand up to his request?"

Agni Dev clearly enjoying the moment, his smirk only growing wider. "Well... I am going inside. You can continue with your — gatekeeper duties..."

Indra glared after him as he saw Agnidev go inside. And he thought. "One day, I swear, I will extinguish your fire with my rain..."

Indra sighed, looking at the entrance in hopes that Shachi would return soon. "Will Shachi forget about me? That I am waiting here for her?"

--------

Meanwhile, inside Karna found himself surrounded by more guests. He greeted Vayudev and Hanuman.

Soon after, Agnidev spotted Karna and approached him, a friendly smile on his face.

(Of course Karna is the center of attention how can anyone not notice him 😜)

Agni Dev talked to Karna for sometime, when Suryadev came there.

Agni Dev clapped a hand on Karna's shoulder, and tells Suryadev. "If I had a daughter then I would definitely let your son marry her." He looked at Karna and added, "You'd make a fine son-in-law."

Suryadev replied almost immediately. "Not interested..."

Agni Dev chuckled, shaking his head at the rejection straight at his face. "Alright, Suryadev, I get it. Just paying your son a compliment."

Suryadev turned to Karna with a soft expression. "Putra, your mothers - Saranyu and Chhaya — are looking for you. You should go to them."

Karna nodded and was about to leave when Suryadev gently placed a hand on his shoulder and said, "Take care Putra! I am... helpless..."

Karna did not quite understand his father's words but just nodded before leaving in search of his mothers.

---------

The family ladies(Aditi, Varuni, Usha, Shachi, Saranyu, Chhaya, Dhumorna, Dhamini) gathered around Karna, as they made him sit in the center of their circle. Each took turns pulling his cheeks, showering him with affection.

Having being the center of attention among these ladies. Karna thought to himself. "Why is everyone so intrested in me? 🤔"

Shachi, smiling mischievously, gently pulled Karna's cheeks. "You're such a handsome young man, Putra! No wonder everyone is enchanted by you!" She then turned to Saranyu asking, "Saranyu Jiji, I wish to adopt him myself. What do you say?"

Saranyu immediately wrapped her arm around Karna, protectively pulling him close and giving Shachi a firm look. "Shachi, No! Karna is my son. If you want a son, you'll have to find one elsewhere."

Karna, listening to their exchange with a smile, offered a quick solution, his innocent charm shining through. "Choti Ma, why adopt me? Just consider me as your son, and I'll call you Mata from now on!" He turned to Saranyu innocently asking, "Mata Saranyu, I have so many mothers — so... one more?" Saranyu nodded with a smile.

The ladies laughed, charmed by his quick thinking and his sweet words. Shachi, Saranyu, and the others pulled his cheeks even more, impressed by his wit.

(A/N - And he thinks why everyone was so interested in him... 🤦)

Aditi leaned forward next, her eyes softening as she looked at Karna. "Enough now, let me see my youngest grandson." Karna smiled at her, only for his expression to shift to a pout as she, too, pulled his cheeks. "With such charm, you'll have all the maidens in a flutter, I'm sure!"

After a while, as the women got busy talking among themselves. Karna seized the chance and quietly escaped from there....

Or — so — he — thought...

Because he had barely escaped from one group of woman and now he found himself surrounded by another — this time, they were none other than — the Gandharva princesses and apsaras, each one as smitten with him as the ladies before.

Now that Karna was alone, they circled him with playful smiles, each trying to win his attention.

One princess looked at him dreamily. "Karna, you're so handsome. Surely no one could compare."

An apsara leaned in close, batting her lashes. "I'd give anything to be with someone like you."

Another princess whispered in his ear, "I like you... Karna."

Another apsara giggled, tilting her head. "Will you marry me, Karna?"

A bolder princess stepped closer, grinning. "Forget all of this — let's elope!"

Karna felt his cheeks heat up, his face turning a shade of red. He stammered, his using confidence slipping as he struggled to find words. "Ah... Um.. thank you... But... I..."

After some time...

Somehow, Karna managed to escaped the princess and apsaras as well. He quickly started searching for his siblings and finally spotted Shani and the Ashwini twins. He made his way over to them, and let out a deep sigh, sitting down next to them with a pout.

Shani and the Ashwini twins exchanged amused glances as they looked at their flustered little brother.

"Karna, what happened?" Shani asked, raising an eyebrow.

Karna crossed his arms, still pouting. "Bhrata Shani!! Everyone keeps pulling my cheeks! I barely managed to escape from Mata's and Pitamahi and —"

Before he could finish, Yami and Tapti arrived and saw Karna sitting there with a cute, innocent, sulky expression. They immediately leaned down, cooing. "Aww, what happened to our dear Anuj?" With that, they couldn't resist his cuteness and began pulling his cheeks as well.

"Didi!" Karna whined, crossing him arms tighter, still pouting. "Not you both too!"

Yami and Tapti exchanged confused glances.

"What happened?" Yami asked with a laugh.

"What did we do?" Tapti added smiling.

The Ashwini twins chuckled, explaning, "Our little brother is the center of attention today. Everyone is pulling his cheeks!"

Karna nodded seriously, looking at his siblings in exasperation. "Not just that! Those apsaras and Gandharva princesses — they were pulling my hands — each on either side — claming — he's mine, No, he's mine. My hands almost came off from their pulling."

Karna sighed looking up at them. "What am I? A piece of jewelry to fight over?"

Shani laughed. "So, how did you manage to get away?"

Karna grinned, looking proud. "After a while, they started fighting with each other like cats and dogs. I slipped away while they were busy fighting!"

His siblings brust into laughter at his clever escape.

Still pouting, Karna looked up at each of them with pleading eyes. "Bhrata Shani... Bhrata Nasatya... Bhrata Dasra... Yami Didi... Tapti Didi..."

They looked at him, waiting to hear what he'd say next.

"Please help me 🙏 Do something to get me away from all of this!"

Shani, Yami, Tapti, and the Ashwini twins exchanged glances.

"Well," Yami started thoughtfully, "we can't exactly go against Mata Saranyu or Mata Chhaya — they'll scold us if they find out."

Karna's eyes softened with puppy-like innocence 🥺 "Please, brothers and sisters! I don't want to go back to being their doll... One wants to marry me, another wants to elope..."

The Ashwini twins sighed, clearly won over. They looked at Shani, pleading. "Bhrata Shani... our little brother is asking us something for the first time. How can we refuse?"

Shani chuckled, nodding, "You both don't have to convince me, I was already convinced when Karna asked."

Looking down at Karna, Shani added. "Alright, little brother. I'll try to keep the ladies busy."

Yami and Tapti grinned. "We'll handle the men," they chimed in.

"And we'll sneak you out while they're distracted." the Ashwini twins said with a wink.

Karna's face lit up, as Shani, Yami and Tapti left to carry out their part of the plan.

Turning to the Ashwini twins, Karna asked curiously. "Bhrata, how are you going to get me out of here?"

The twins exchanged a look and shrugged. "We don't know... Anuj... if Jyesth Bhrata Yama is here, it would be super easy. Because, all we would need to do is just give him those puppy eyes, and he would melt and get us out of any trouble, even taking the blame if he had to."

Karna asked looking around, "Where is Jyesth? Earlier he said he had 'important work' and left."

Dasra chuckled, patting Karna's shoulder. "Ah, our Jyesth Bhrata is busy with some important task right now."

Karna and the Ashwini twins scanned the area, spotting Shani, Yami and Tapti carrying out their parts of the distraction perfectly.

Shani was deep in conversation as he gathered all the ladies telling them about, "Mystical Beauty tips — for eternal beauty and glowing skin, Love and Marriage prediction, celestial gossip — gossip about someone, no names of course..."

While Yami and Tapti entertained the men keeping them busy.

Karna turned back to his brothers. "Bhrata, should we ask Pitashree?"

The twins looked at Suryadev, who was engaged in a conversation with Rishi Kashyapa, Varuna Dev, And Aryaman.

(A/N - They must be talking about something serious like either about Indra who is still outside or about their wives...)

The twins exchanged a look and shook their heads in unison.

"No, Anuj," Nasatya said, sighing. "Pitashree always loses in front of our mothers."

Karna then looked at Rishi Kashyapa. "Then... what about Pitamah Kashyapa?"

The twins chuckled, patting Karna's shoulder with mock sympathy. "Anuj, it all started from him only... Long story short... In our family, ladies always win. So Pitamah Kashyapa would be no help, either."

Karna sighed, exasperated. "Then do something, Bhrata, before anyone notice me!!"

Just then, they saw someone approaching from a distance.

Nasatya's eyes lit up with a mischievous glint as he nudged Karna. "Well, look. Our solution is walking straight toward us, Anuj."

Dasra chuckled, whispering. "Or as I would call it, our Bali ka Bakra!"

The three of them looked at the approaching — Bali ka Bakra — I mean approaching figure, and the three just stood there.

Before they could react further, someone suddenly appeared behind them, startling them. "What are you two pranksters plotting?" a familiar voice chimed.

"Did their plan fail even before executing?" They thought and whipped around, expecting the worst, only to see Jayant grinning at them.

The twins released a collective sigh of relief, while Karna does not know who Jayant was, so he asked raising an eyebrow. "And... who are you?"

Before Jayant could respond, Nasatya pulled Karna close and whispered, so that only Karna can hear him. "Anuj, he's another Bali ka Bakra, whom you can always use when you are in trouble." Dasra added with a wink, "In simple words, he is that friend whom you don't mind sacrificing without hesitation to get out of trouble."

Karna laughed hearing this.

Jayant looked at their hushed conversation, suspiciously. Clearing his throat, he asked, "What are you three talking about?"

Karna immediately said, "They are telling me about you that you are Bali ka—ahhh." The twins immediately stopped Karna from finishing his sentence. Nasatya stomped on Karna's leg and Dasra quickly pinches Karna's hand.

Karna shot them a feigned look of annoyance, but the twins royally ignored him and introduced Jayant. "Anuj, meet Jayant. He is Chote Pitashree Indra and Choti Ma Saachi's son."

Jayant gave Karna a warm smile, pulling him into a quick hug.

When they broke apart. Jayant raised an eyebrow at the group, clearly curious. "So... I know you are planning something. Care to share?"

The twins exchanged a mischievous look. "We are on a rescue operation!"

Jayant titled his head, intrigued. "OhhK? And who are you rescuing?"

They both gestured to Karna, who was standing between them with an innocent grin.

Jayant chuckled, catching on. "Alright, what's the plan?"

Just then, Karna nudged the twins. "Bhrata, look — Bali ka Bakra number one is coming towards us!"

Jayant looked at the person they are referring to and laughs and asked, "You even numbered? I wonder who is the second..."

The three looked at each other and 🤫, "Shh... It's a secret!!"

The twins, then quickly explained everything to second Bali ka Bakra/Jayant and he immediately understood the whole plan and the situation.

(imagine him doing this)

Jayant held up his hands and gestured "🙈🙊🙉"

Karna and the twins looked at him, confused, thinking. "What did he just do? Has he gone mad?"

Until Jayant grinned and explained, "I did not see anything 🙈! I will not say anything 🙊! I did not hear anything 🙉!"

Karna brust into laughter at Jayant's antics 🤣🤣🤣.

While the twins grinned, satisfied. "Anuj, just follow our lead and agree to whatever we say and we will take care of the rest." they told Karna.

Karna gave a quick nod.

The first Bali ka Bakra approached — it's none other than Vishvakarma 🎊🥳🎉

With a smile, Vishvakarma asked, "What happened, Putra? The three of you are standing alone. Already bored?"

Thinking fast, the twins spoke up. "Pitamah, we were just telling Anuj about you, and he said he's curious to see your workshop."

Vishvakarma turned to Karna, clearly touched. "Really, Putra? You're welcome anytime. It's good to see at least one of my grandsons is intrested in my work. Your brothers never showed much interest."

Karna's face lit up with genuine excitement. "Really Pitamah? I can come anytime? I'd love to see it!!"

Quick note - Karna had already met Vishwakarma in the party so he knew who he was. And his excitement is real.

Then Ashwini twins exchanged a quick glance, smirking. "Pitamah, why don't you show him now? Look how excited Anuj is!"

Vishvakarma hesitated, glancing nervously. "I'd love to, but... Saranyu and Chhaya...." For a second, he can already picture the wrath of his daughters if they found out.

The twins teased. "Pitamah, they are your daughters and you fear them? 😏 "

Vishvakarma cleared his throat, puffing up with mock pride. "Who said I'm afraid? I am not your father! You know what, Putra Karna, let's go — right now! I will also see who will stop me!!"

He took Karna's hand, about to leave, the twins quickly stopped him. "Pitamah, take him out quietly. If Mata Saranyu and Mata Chhaya find out... then... you know..."

Vishvakarma knew all too well, nodding seriously. "You're right. So, tell me how should I take him, unnoticed?"

Together, the twins said, "Backdoor!"

Vishvakarma chuckled, gripping Karna's hand tightly. "Good idea! Let's go, quietly 🤫 and quickly🏃!"

As Vishvakarma led Karna through the backdoor, a figure watched form a distance, a faint smirk playing on his lips.

And with that, the 'rescue operation' was executed to perfection, "Mission successfull!!"

---------------------------------------------------------

Vishvakarma successfully led Karna through the backdoor, to his grand workshop — a place of marvel, filled with divine tools, glittering metals, and intricate designs beyond mortal imagination. Karna's eyes sparkled with amazement, taking in every corner of the workshop, fascinated by the array of weapons, blueprints, and mystical devices.

As they walked deeper inside, Vishvakarma beamed with pride. "Welcome, Putra. This is my humble workshop. Here, I've created weapons, armor, and celestial chariots for the devas." He gestured around, introducing Karna to everything. "Those tools are used to shape the hardest metals of the heavens. And over there is the fire of Agni that I use to temper divine weapons."

Karna looked around, wonder evident on his face. "Pitamah, this is incredible! I never imagined a place like this existed."

Vishvakarma chuckled. "I'm glad you like it, Putra. I knew you'd appreciate this place — which is why I've prepared a gift for you."

Karna's eyes widened, surprised. "A gift? For me?"

With a proud smile, Vishvakarma led him to a section where a magnificent chariot gleamed under soft celestial light. "Yes, Putra. I heard your father gifted you a horse — Ucchaishravas, the divine steed himself. So I crafted this chariot for you, designed to complement such a grand companion."

Karna walked up to the chariot, marveling at its beauty. It was unlike any chariot he had ever seen. The chariot was adorned with intricate golden cravings, and a quiver was attached to its side.

Vishvakarma explained, "This chariot requires no charioteer and is enchanted so that it will follow your thoughts. When attached to Ucchaishravas, it will glide over the ground without touching it, swift as a thought and as steady as a mountain. The quiver will always provide normal arrows, no matter how many you use, so you will never lack arrows in battle."

Karna's face lit up, his joy uncontainable. "Pitamah, this is… beyond anything I could have hoped for. Thank you so much!" He hugged Vishvakarma.

Vishvakarma laughed, patting Karna's shoulder. "I am glad you like it, Putra. But tell me, would you like to learn how to make a weapon yourself?"

Karna looked thoughtful, then nodded with a smile. "Yes, Pitamah. I would love to learn… but not for myself." He paused, almost shyly. "I WISH TO MAKE A WEAPON FOR SUYODHANA. HE IS A MACE FIGHTER, AND I WANT TO GIVE HIM SOMETHING SPECIAL WHEN I MEET HIM."

Vishvakarma raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Suyodhana, hmm? And what about your other brothers?"

Karna looked a little sheepish. "Well… Ashwa told me about Suyo… or rather, I asked him about Suyo specifically," he admitted.

Vishvakarma chuckled, nodding in understanding. "It seems Suyodhana is your favorite."

Karna nodded, a smile growing on his face. "Yes, Pitamah, he will always be my favorite... But of course, I would like to give something to all my brothers as well."

Vishvakarma nodded, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "In that case, when the time comes, I shall help you make weapons for each of them, as unique and special as they are."

Karna's face brightened, his heart swelling with happiness. "Thank you, Pitamah! I will let you know once I meet them all, and we can start working on their gifts together."

Vishvakarma smiled warmly, seeing the joy in Karna’s eyes. "I look forward to it, Putra. Now, let me show you how we can start…"

Back At Suryalok

The party wound down, and as guests departed, the palace gradually fell quiet. Only the family members remained, but a sense of anticipation filled the air.

Saranyu and Chhaya exchanged worried glances, LOOKING AROUND AT THEIR CHILDREN AS THEY COUNTED HEADS.

Saranyu voiced her concern, "Arya, I'm sure someone has kidnapped my son... Karna. He's nowhere to been seen!"

Chhaya added with a serious look. "Whoever it is, once I find them, I will personally ensure Putra Yama delivers them the harshest punishment!"

Hearing this, Rishi Kashyapa's lips curved into a subtle, knowing smile. In an innocent tone, he remarked, "Putri Saranyu, Putri Chhaya, if it eases your mind... I did happen to see your father dragging Karna outside a while ago."

Upon hearing this, Saranyu and Chhaya's eyes widened, and their expressions turned fierce. "PITASHREE!!!"

Meanwhile, the Ashwini twins had quietly slipped next to Rishi Kashyapa. In a hushed tone, they asked, "Pitamah, you saw everything?"

Rishi Kashyapa nodded, amusement clear on his face, "Indeed, I did, Putra. But don't worry — I am on your side."

Relieved but confused, the twins whispered, "Then... why did you tell Mata?"

Rishi Kashyapa chuckled. "I only mentioned that Vishvakarma took Karna. I left your part of the plan out, so you are safe." He paused, his expression mischievous. "As for Vishvakarma... He's always taunting me about fearing my wife. Now, I shall see how he handles his daughters wrath." He smirked, adding, "I need a little something against him, right? When he tries to mock me again..."

The twins grinned, nodding in agreement, impressed by their grandfather's cleverness.

However, Saranyu noticed their hushed conversation, her gaze fixed on the twins. She asked. "Nasatya! Dasra! If I find out that you two were involved in any way...."

The twins immediately protested, "Mata, we didn't do anything! It was Pitamah! He said to us, 'I am not your father that I should fear my daughters!'"

Saranyu and Chhaya exchanged a look and raised an eyebrow, both of them thinking the same thing. "So... our father does not fear us, does he?"

The look they shared said it all — Vishvakarma was going to have a difficult time ahead.

Just then, Suryadev quietly moved beside the twins, his curiosity piqued. Leaning close, he asked. "Did your grandfather really say that?"

The twins, acting confused, asked innocently, a bit louder to get everyone's attention on them, "Say what, Pitashree?"

Everyone's attention was on them but Suryadev did not know. He cleared his throat, trying to act normal. "That I... fear your mothers..."

The twins burst into laughter, and everyone else heard Suryadev as well. The younger generation did not hold back their laughter, while the elders tried, but struggled, to suppress their smiles.

Just then, Shachi pulled Saranyu and Chhaya aside. Once in private, she asked, "Saranyu Jiji, Chhaya Jiji... tell me truly, why is everyone angry with my husband?"

Saranyu and Chhaya exchanged knowing looks before explaining everything to Shachi. She listened intently, her expression shifting from surprise to disappointment as the truth settled in.

Now fully understanding the situation, Shachi muttered, "I see..."

Without another word, she turned and left with Jayant.

Outside, Indra continued pacing, glancing impatiently at the entrance every few seconds. Muttering to himself, he sighed, "How long does she need? Everyone already left, and she is still inside..."

Finally, he spotted Shachi and Jayant, stepping outside, her face unreadable. He rushed to her, eager and anxious. "What happened? Did you find out?"

Shachi's face was calm. "Yes, I did," she replied. "And don't even think of coming home." She shot one last icy glare before striding away.

Indra stood there, frozen in shock, processing her words. "What just happened? Did she really mean it, or is this just one of her tempers?" He thought, caught between pride and bewilderment. "But... How serious could it be? She's never this cold."

Jayant, as if reading his father's mind, smirked and said, "Pitashree, You — the King of devas — just got kicked out from your own heavenly abode — by none other than — the Queen of devas herself."

Indra blinked, his mind struggling to process the reality. "But surely, she'll let me back in tomorrow... right?" He thought, as he watched his family walk away without looking back.

He hesitated, staring at the empty space where Shachi had just been. For a brief moment, he thought about running after her to plead his case but remembered her frosty expression. Shuddering, he decided against it. "Maybe... it's best to give her time to cool off," he reasoned, attempting to retain his dignity.

As he turned to leave, Indra muttered to himself, "The King of Devas... outside his own home..." He shook his head, now more amused than frustrated. "What a day."
