[Megumin was looking over Darkness's card when she suddenly gasps.]

Megumin: "Hang on! According to her card she's a crusader! We'd be crazy to turn down someone as powerful as her!"

(Y/N): "That's what I'm saying! If we were to train together we'd be almost unstoppable!"

[Kazuma thinks to himself for a bit then stands up.]

Kazuma: "Darkness, I'm sorry- but I haven't been totally honest with you."

[This garners her attention as she turns to him.]

Kazuma: "The thing is, (Y/N), Aqua and I may look, somewhat harmless." [He nods his head toward you.] "But our mission here is to bring down the Devil King."

Chris: "Woah.."

Megumin: "Are you serious?"

Aqua: "I know, pretty awesome huh!"

(Y/N): "But yeah, everything he says is true."

Kazuma: "Anyways, we know how rough it's gonna get for us and we're okay with that, but what about you Darkness? If he catches a lady knight like you, do you know what he's gonna do?"

[You're confused as you turn to him.]

Kazuma: "For starters, he'll chain you up and torture the hell outa you!"

Darkness: "Yes, I fully expect he would, for you see since days of old becoming his erotic plaything has been a female knights duty, and that alone makes it worthwhile to go!"

Kazuma: "Wait what..?"

Darkness: "Oh, sorry. Did I say something strange just now?"

(Y/N): *Mumbling* "I think strange is a bit of an understatement.."

[You sigh and turn to Megumin as Kazuma has some kind of internal conflict.]

(Y/N): "This also applies to you Megumin, remember it's the Devil King we're after, the supposed strongest being in the world. So if you feel like that's too much for you, than let us kno-"

[Before you can finish what you were saying Megumin slams her hands onto the table as she looks at you with a determined look.]

Megumin: "My name is Megumin! Member of the Crimson Demon clan, wielder of explosion, the finest spell!"

[She puts one foot on the table as she strikes a cool pose.]

Megumin: "The Devil King thinks he's superior to us, but I shall obliterate his vile presence with the strongest magic in the land!"

[Everything goes quiet as Kazuma looks in confusion as you just smile at her.]

(Y/N): "Guess that's that then."

[She sits back down as she returns the smile when Aqua holds onto your arm and whispers into your ear.]

Aqua: "H-hey (Y/N), after all that talk about the Devil King, I'm not so sure we should do this anymore.. I mean taking on the strongest being in the world is pretty crazy.."

[You turn to her and rest a hand on her shoulder.]

(Y/N): "Look, it sounds bad now, and even I'm admittedly kind worried about it, but out of all of us you should be the most motivated, it's the only way you can get back home remember?"

[She sighs as she looks at you.]

Aqua: "I know, but it's just such a daunting task! Maybe if I can appease the gods somehow they can let me back in without needing to fight him.."

[You shrug as you take your hand off.]

(Y/N): "Doubt that's gonna happen, look, that fight isn't gonna be for a while, and besides we'd be a lot stronger by the time we get to him anyways. So just, don't worry about that right now, okay?"

[She leans away and gives you a faint smile, when suddenly a Luna's voice comes over the loudspeakers.]

Luna: "Emergency quest! Emergency quest!"

Kazuma: "What the hell is that about!?"

Luna: "We need all able adventurers to assemble at the front gate! I repeat, all able adventurers, assemble at the front gate at once!"

[A bell starts ringing as you run to a window, you notice that everyone outside is running all over the place in panic, whether into their homes or somewhere safe.]

Kazuma: "You coming?"

[You turn and see him holding the door open as you turn and see that the rest of your party has already left.]

(Y/N): "Yeah.."

*Scene Change*

[You're all gathered at the front gate, the sky grey with clouds you back up and turn to Darkness.]

(Y/N): "What's going on?"

[She rests a hand on your shoulder and steps forward a bit.]

Darkness: "I shall protect everyone."

[She turns her head to you a bit, with a look of confidence.]

Darkness: "Stay close to me and you'll be fine."

Kazuma: "They said it's an emergency, are monsters gonna attack us!?"

[For some reason, Aqua walks up with a large basket.]

Aqua: "Those aren't monsters you two, it's cabbage!"

[Kazuma turns to her in confusion when you notice a sea of green coming up over the hill.]

(Y/N): "What the hell..?"

Adventurer 1: "This is gonna get ugly.."

Megumin: "The tempest, cometh."

[You notice that Megumin is a lot further ahead than the rest of you as she strikes yet another cool pose, the wind blowing around her.]

Crowd: "It's harvest time!"

Aqua: "Unleash the mayonnaise!"

Defeat All the Cabbages Flying into the City

Adventurer 1: "Attack!"

[Everyone starts running toward the cabbages as you walk over to Aqua.]

(Y/N): "Okay, mind explaining what's going on!?"

[She turns to you with a smile as she grabs one out of the air and puts it in her basket.]

Aqua: "In this world, cabbages fly. During harvest time, when they've reached peak flavor, they don't sit around waiting to be eaten. They careen though the cities and meadows across the continent and the ocean until they reach a secluded place, where they eventually die, without being eaten."

[She hands you a basket as you take it.]

Aqua: "Which is why we should catch as many as we can and turn them into delicious meals to eat!"

Luna: "Attention! The annual cabbage harvesting season has finally arrived! This years crop is the best yet, and we're offering 10,000 Eris per head, we have cages to store them in so catch as many as you can!"

[You perk up at the sound of 10,000 Eris per head as you walk over to Kazuma.]

Kazuma: "Man, can't I just go back to bed?"

(Y/N): "Dude, it's 10,000 per head, we can make more here than we would in a weeks worth of work!"

[Kazuma considers your words as Darkness walks over.]

Darkness: "(Y/N), Kazuma, here is my chance, I will show you two my skills as a crusader, and prove my worth."

[She pulls out a sword as you blush. Kazuma noticing and nudging your shoulder with a sly grin. Suddenly she rushes forward and swings at a swarm of cabbages, multiple times, not hitting a single one...]

[You cringe to yourself as you watch her.]

(Y/N)'s Thoughts: "So this is what she meant by having poor aim..."

[Suddenly a lot of people start getting attacked by the cabbages, one strikes Kazuma in the face, but as you turn to check on him another comes and hits you as well, sending you to the ground. Darkness notices as she comes over and offers you a hand.]

Darkness: "Are you alright?"

[You look at her hand then back at her as you blush once more, you take it as she pulls you up, she looks away a bit too, her head down a little as you scratch the back of your head.]

(Y/N): "Y-yeah, I'm fine.."

[You turn and see Kazuma rubbing his face, a faint red mark on his cheek.]

Kazuma: "Yeah don't worry I'll help myself up.."

[A lot more start coming your way as she stands in front of you and Kazuma, taking the blows as you look on in awe.]

Darkness: "Retreat to safety, I've got this!"

[Kazuma retreats back a little as you're conflicted on what to do, her armor starts to come off as she takes more blows.]

(Y/N): "Darkness your armor's coming off, save yourself!"

Darkness: "I will not!"

[She throws her arms outward as she takes more hits, her armor hardly even there anymore.]

Darkness: "I cannot abandon my comrades in battle, I can't, I won't!"

Adventurer 2: "Wow, now that's a knight!"

Girl with Bunny Ears: "Run away m'lady, run!"

[The fabric of her clothes starts to get torn away as all of the guys look on in awe.]

*Darkness's POV*

Darkness's Thoughts: "They're watching me, rough uncouth men are looking at my bare skin, and getting aroused!"

[She looks back and notices you still standing there, conflicted worry on your face as more cabbages hit her.]

Darkness's Thoughts: "Huh? How come (Y/N) isn't looking at me like some kind of animal, he's getting the best view yet he's just, standing there..?"

*Your POV*

[You admit, while the scene you were getting was- something, you couldn't just stand there and let her be used as a shield, you decide to pull out your sword and rush forward.]

New Skill:

-Chaining together multiple enemies extends the rush until the user ends the streak or tires.

[You run in front of Darkness, and start swinging at the cabbages, where as the rush would end after just a single strike, you're able to keep going thanks to your new skill, racking up multiple cabbages as they fall into your basket. Eventually your arms start to tire from all of the swinging as you turn back around to check on Darkness.]

(Y/N): "You okay..?"

[Darkness stares up at you with a hint of awe, she's covering herself, though given the state she's in it doesn't do much. You offer a hand and help her up. She rubs her arm as she looks away.]

Darkness: "You didn't have to do that you know, I was fine on my own.."

[You look her up and down as you raise an eyebrow, she blushes a little at the gesture.]

Kazuma: "Uhh, guys!"

[You look to Kazuma as he's looking down at your feet, you look down and notice what looks to be a small glowing light around you and Darkness.]

[Unbeknownst to the two of you, a certain explosion girl was preparing to use her spell... right on top of you and Darkness.]

(Y/N): "MEGUMIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?"

[Darkness acts quickly as she tackles you to the ground.]

Megumin: "Explosion!"

[You crane your head to see a giant fiery circle around you and Darkness as you're practically shitting yourself, when she cusps her hand onto your cheek and turns your head to face her, a calm expression on her face.]

Darkness: "Don't worry, it'll be alright."

[Finally, the explosion goes off blowing everyone away and being much larger than the one she used on the toads as Darkness holds onto you tightly as you hold onto her while Kazuma calls out to you, worry on his face.]

Kazuma: "(Y/N)!"
