After Dante's circus, Suki had difficulties to find back her sleep. Salvatore ended up talking with her at a low tone to make her fall asleep. He didn't remember doing something like that for his boys before, except maybe for Gabriel when he was very little, his birth mother not showing interest in him.

Thinking about the past reminded him of his late wife and how wonderful she had been with his eldest son. She raised him as her own and she was really the sunshine of the family. After she passed away, nothing was ever the same.

When Salvatore was sure that his daughter was sound asleep, he went downstairs. He was awakened since too long to go back to sleep. He prepared himself a cup of black coffee and sat at the kitchen counter with his phone to check the news of the night.

At 6.00am, he called the head of the night guards and asked him a detailed report about Dante's activities before he came back home in the middle of the night, completely wasted. The guard told all the information he had to his boss and left.

After that Dante fell asleep, Gianni wanted to put him in bed correctly, but Gabriel told him to let that drunkard as he was.

Gianni: What happened between the kitten and Dante?

Gabriel: A boy showed interest in Suki and Dante intervened, but after that, that jerk became disrespectful... I guess Dante feels guilty because it reminded him that he used the same type of words against our little sister when she integrated our family... and that now, she thinks the same way about herself ...

Gianni: The fu**! Did you punch that guy's face, I hope?!

Gabriel: Trust me, I had difficulties to retain myself. If he was not a kid, I would have killed him already!

Gianni: What if he tries something at school later?!

Gabriel: Even if he is an idiot, I don't think that he will take the risk to do something. And I know his brother will make sure of it too!

Gianni: Dad is going to kill Dante when he will wake up...

Gabriel: He deserves it... even if I can understand how he feels... let's go back to sleep, there is nothing more we can do for now.

The morning showed up quietly in the house. As often, Gabriel and Gianni went for an hour of jogging outside. Dante couldn't go with today as he was deeply asleep, still recovering of his hangover.

Davide and Enzo woke up pretty early for a weekend day and Enzo was surprised to not see his little sister, as she was an early bird.

Enzo: Dad, Suki already had her breakfast?

Salvatore: Suki is still sleeping; she needs more rest today.

Davide: She went on a club last night or what... (He laughed.)

Salvatore: Davide...

Davide: Are you sure that she is not just hiding herself because of what happened yesterday... it's more her style than sleeping that late, even on weekends!

Salvatore:Things change, Davide.

Salvatore didn't want to elaborate more, and the twins understood that their father was not in a mood for long and deep conversation this morning. They quickly find out why when Gianni came back.

After coming back from their jogging, Gabriel directly went to shower while Gianni preferred to eat something first. Salvatore had already left the room to make a call in his office and the twins were chilling in the living room. Gianni sat in one of the couch with a big sandwich in the hand.

Enzo: Gianni... you can't wait after your shower before eating?

Gianni: I need a little refilling first... that body is not working on solar energy! (He took a big bite.) So... Dad killed Dante?

Davide: (He smirked with interest.) Dante? Why? What did he do?

Gianni: (He stopped eating.) You don't know?

Enzo: We didn't see him... he usually goes with you to run. He is maybe still in good company.

Gianni: Not really... Dante came back in the middle of the night... (He told everything to his brothers.)... so, you can guess that Dad will not do as if nothing happened. And the kid, how is she doing?

Enzo: Dad said that she was still asleep... poor Suki, she must have been frightened... that explained why Dante left so quickly yesterday.

Davide: At least for once, I am not the one in the viewfinder!

Gianni: Hum... he made a pretty big mess... (He had finished his sandwich.) Next, shower! (He stood up to leave.) And don't say anything to Dante if you see him... it's for your own good!

Gianni went upstairs and he saw Suki coming out from her bedroom. She had already prepared herself, her hair attached in bun. He stopped in front of her and scanned her face. She said hello with a little voice.

Gianni: So, tired? You have small eyes!

Suki: No, I'm fine...

Gianni: Did you cry? (She shook her head.) Hum... Dad is in his office, but the twins are downstairs, go have your breakfast.

Suki: Euh... Gianni... Dante... he is downstairs too?

Gianni: Why? You are not afraid of him because of last night, right? He drunk too much, forget about that! (He sighed at her expression.) He is still sleeping apparently, so you don't have to stress yourself for nothing. He was not angry because of you.

Suki: I think... he was... (She had murmured those words, but Gianni heard her.) Thank you. (She quickly left.)

Gianni: Damn, bro'... the scared little kitten is back...

Downstairs, Suki went directly to the kitchen. She was not hungry and opted for a simple cup of tea. She wanted to wait for lunch time to have a full meal and there was no one around to force her to eat something. When she was done with her tea, she headed to the living room and was welcomed with a big smile by Enzo.

The young man didn't bring the Dante topic because he guessed, as soon as he saw Suki, that she was not indifferent to what had happened. He preferred to try to change her mood and proposed her to go out instead and accompany him to a very famous game event.

Suki: I don't really know things about the games you play.

Enzo: I am more interested by the items they are selling today. I want a limited first edition of the first opus of that game!

Davide, who was silently listening to Suki and his twin brother's discussion smiled. Few months ago, Enzo would not have put a feet in that type of events. He would have sent someone to buy what he wanted for him. But now, he was the one proposing to go out. Even with him and Vito, he was going out with them more.

Suki: I have to first ask Father the authorization.

Gabriel: (He entered, freshly changed.) The authorization for what? (He came closer and patted her head.) Did you sleep well?

Suki: Hum... Onii-chan wants to go in... a game convention? (She looked at him to have confirmation.)

Enzo: Yes, I want to go there to buy something, and she is going with me. I will inform Dad.

Gabriel: Davide, are you going too?

Davide: I wasn't invited to go... (He smirked.)

Enzo: Dummy... you're not a kid, if you want to go, come, that's simple! (He looked at his phone.) Let's leave in 20 minutes!

Suki: (She stood up.) I'm going to take my bag. (She went upstairs.)

Davide: She seems eager to leave the house...

Enzo: It's because she is happy to hang out with me...

Gabriel: Enzo, you are responsible of your little sister over there, don't let your attention taken by entertaining things, understood?

Enzo: Gab, I know, I'm not a kid. I won't take my eyes off her!

Gabriel: I will send a team to assure your safety too.

Davide: It's a geeks' convention, there is nothing to fear.

Enzo: He is not wrong, even if those words seems a bit insulting in his mouth. Suki needs to go out and do something. Don't you see how down she seems to be?

Gabriel: I know, that's why I'll let you take her to that event, even if it was not planned. Inform Father and send me the address, I have to take care of something.

Gabriel left to his appointment. He was supposed to visit one of their warehouses with Dante, but obviously, he will have to go alone.

After Gabriel's departure, Davide also went to change for a more appropriate outfit to go out, dixit himself, while Enzo went to see his father at the wooden house in the garden. The door of Salvatore's office was not close, and the head of the family seemed really focused on his reading.

Enzo interrupted him and he told him that he was going out with his siblings. Salvatore also thought that it was a good idea to take the little girl out of the house for once. Enzo didn't disturb more his father and went back to the living room. Suki was already and patiently waiting for him.

Enzo: Davide!!! (He yelled to make him come downstairs.) What is taking him so long... (His twin was in the stairs.) Finally! It's just a geeks' stuff as you said, don't need to pamper yourself!

Davide: Ah... you never know which type of geekette you can find in that type of convention... (He smiled proudly.)

Enzo: Dude... (He eyed in direction of Suki.)

Davide: Yeah, yeah, let's go... I hope they sell food over there!

Davide took his car, and the group of bodyguards followed in a second car. Suki's personal one was wearing casual clothes at Gabriel's request, to not attract too much attention while she will follow the little girl outside.

In the house, Gianni came back downstairs with his tablet. He was reviewing MMA fights of the fighters planned for the evening in his club. He was comfortably installed in the couch when Dante showed up. The young man had a tired face even if it was almost noon. Gianni chuckled at his brother's state.

Gianni: Difficult wake-up??

Dante: Hum... I think I drunk too much last night... I need a painkiller and a coffee... where is everyone?

Gianni: Dad is in his office... but after the mess you did last night, I'm not sure that you want to see him right now... for the others, I don't know.

Dante: Did you see the kid this morning?

Gianni: Yes, I saw her briefly and let me tell you that she didn't look good, just like you... why, you want to see her? (He smirked.) Because I'm pretty sure that it is not reciprocal.

Dante: (He frowned.) Why that?

Gianni: You scared her, dude! Now, she thinks that you are angry against her... good luck for your next face to face!

Dante: She is stupid!

Gianni: Nothing new, she is stupid when it's about reading people. But frankly speaking, your behavior would have scared a lot of people, so an innocent kid like her, it's normal that she thinks like that.

Dante: Fu**! Such a headache!

Dante needed that coffee even more now, but the black beverage was still filling the cup than Salvatore entered the kitchen. Dante felt his aura, the bad guy one, and he knew it was directed toward him. He had his hands one the kitchen counter and turned himself to face his father. It was times for a sermon, at 27. Salvatore was standing there, arms crossed against his chest.

Dante: I guess you want to say something.

Salvatore: For me, it seems that you were the one who had something to say... last night.

Dante: (He turned himself to grab his cup of coffee.) Not really...

Salvatore: Dante Smith, are you playing dumb with me?!

Dante: I drunk a bit too much, yeah... I will be more careful next time.

Salvatore: (He sighed.) What happened with Suki yesterday? What did she do to make you angry at the point to barge in her room, drunk, in the middle of the night?! I thought that you had accepted her now... but it seems I was wrong!

Dante frowned at his father's words. He was trying to minimize his behavior from last night, but his father didn't seem eager to do that.

Dante: It has nothing to do with that!

Salvatore: So, what? Explain yourself!

Dante: What do you want me to explain? That I was mad because of that jerk and that I passed my frustration on your daughter?!

Salvatore: You are lying to yourself right now, and you know it. (His tone was strangely calm.)

Dante: Fu**! (A silence took place few seconds.) I felt guilty... to have act like that jerk with her... seeing her accepting to be treat like shit by strangers pissed me off but knowing that she didn't say anything because we were the one who had put those shits in her head, made me loose mine...

Salvatore: I understand, but no matter what you feel, you have no rights to act like you did with your little sister, because it only raises that feeling in her to be an outcast in her family! Suki is a sensitive child and if something goes wrong, her first reaction is to think that she is the cause of the problem. You are an adult; you should know how to deal with your own feelings. And about that guilty feeling that devores you, learn how to deal with it without causing more troubles that will, in the end, only worsen what you feel.

Dante: I know... but I guess I'm really a fu** jerk after all.

Salvatore: Knowing that should help you to take measures to change it!

Salvatore had said what he had in mind, so he left Dante reflecting on himself. The young man had to assume and act like a man, so he followed his father to the living room.

Dante: I'm going to talk to her.

Salvatore: She is not at home.

Dante: Where is she? Who went out with her? Gabriel? No wait, we had something to do today, so who? Gianni is here.

Salvatore: Enzo and Davide went to a games' event with her. We all agreed that doing something different today was a good idea. You will have all the time to talk to her later. But Dante, I warn you, if you lose control of yourself while talking to her, I will deal with you directly! (He left to his office.)

Gianni: So, you and Dad, you had a discussion about our little kitten... you should maybe spend time with her out of the house, taking her to eat something for example. Sometimes, being far from here, and the people living in that house is a good thing.

Dante: You're saying this because you hung out with her, last time?

Gianni: Honestly, it was different, but not bad. She is calm and she opens up herself more when there is not everyone around... and it's funny to tease her because she believes everything so easily...

Dante: Hum... I will think about that... (He took his phone.) I should call Gabriel and join him before he beats my ass. Bye!

Gianni was left alone in the house because later, even Salvatore had to leave for an external meeting. Vito came back after lunch time.

He was aware of what had happened at school because, Andy, his friend and older brother of Jamy, had called him to ask for his help to calm his father's anger. He answered to his friend that he had warned him and that he didn't want to meddle in this mess.

After changing his clothes, he left with Gianni to the fighting club. On the twins and Suki's side, things were more lively. There was a lot of people that wanted to assist to the event but being rich, Enzo just had to make a quick call to be welcomed as a VIP and avoid the longue queue.

Suki: There is a lot of people... and it's huge... (She was surprised by the size of the hall welcoming the event.)

Enzo: Yes, so stay near me or Davide.

Suki: Euh... there is people wearing... Characters' clothes too?

Enzo: Yeah... but I'm not really onto cosplaying... why, are you interested to wear something like this? (She shook her head.)

Davide: (He stared at Suki.) She is already attracting too much attention, no need to put weird stuffs on her!

Enzo: It's not weird, and I'm sure that she will be cute with some of them...

Davide: Well... forget that idea while I am here!

Enzo: You see Suki, our brother is not really the fun type of guys...

Davide: Shut up...

When Suki was with the twins, she was seeing another side of Davide, and it was all thanks to Enzo. At first, she thought that they often fought with each others but now, she knew that they were joking.

Suki: Onii-chan, where is the item that you want to buy?

Enzo: Hum... Let me check... (He verified on his phone.) The sale is planned in 1 hour, let's go grab something to eat first.

Davide: Best idea of the day! (He looked around.) Over there, let's try this... I'm craving for a good burger!

Enzo: Suki, is it good for you?

Suki: Yes, whatever you want... I'm not really hungry...

The trio walked through the crowded aisles to join the space where a food court had been installed. They ordered 2 burgers' sets and one chicken pieces set for Suki. Despite the amount of people participating at that convention, they found a free table directly. The boys didn't waste time to dig into their big burger. Suki tried the fries and a piece of chicken.

While her brothers were finishing their meals and talking about one of those games, Suki was observing everyone. She followed Enzo here because she didn't want to stay at home and face Dante but, in the end, she found interesting to see all those people so dedicated at their passion.

Enzo: Suki, are you done? You didn't eat a lot.

Davide: Did you ever see her eating a lot... (He grabbed a piece of chicken.)... eh, you have eating disorders?

Suki: No... (She frowned.)... I don't need to eat too much, that's all.

Enzo: Bro', Suki is still young, she doesn't need as much food as us!

Davide: She eats even less than usually today...

Enzo: Really? (He stared at her.) Suki, something is wrong? You don't like what we ordered for you? Do you want something else?

Suki: I amfine, really... it's just that I'm not hungry today...

Enzo exchanged a gaze with his twin brother. He hadn't noticed that her mood was affecting her eating habits but Davide, who didn't care about her, had noticed it. Enzo felt a bit bad.

Enzo: Okay, I'm not going to force you to eat more, but later, you have to eat a snack or something, alright? (She nodded.) Okay, let's go and see my future acquisition!

Davide: You know that someone else can be interested by it, right?

Enzo: No one with as much as money than us... (He smirked.)

Davide: Not wrong.

They went to the room specially assigned for the special sell and auctions. The room was smaller with a kind of small scene and people coming and going to the back, behind a curtain. They walked close to the scene and waited near a standing table. Quickly, some objects were presented by private sellers.

Suki: There is a lot of things to sell...

Enzo: Yeah, selling collectible stuffs is usually a good way to make money, the rarest, the priciest...

Davide: And with easy target like you, there is a lot of money to do!

Enzo: (He glared at brother.) I don't even know why you came here with us!

Davide: To make sure that you don't spend too much on things like that... I don't want my twin brother to be scammed!

Enzo: Ooohh... you are such considerate of my person... thank you...

Suki let a smile appearing on her face at the twins bickering. Of course, when Davide saw her and stared at her, she looked away with pinky cheeks, a bit embarrassed, making the young man smirked in satisfaction. It was pretty childish.

Enzo's attention was attracted by the new object exposed. It was the game that the young man wanted to buy.

Enzo: Davide, keep an eye on Suki for a minute, I need to check the authenticity and state of the game. (He left.)

Davide: I'm not going to run after you so don't move from here!

Suki: Yes... (She had her gaze locked on Enzo.) Onii-chan seems really happy to be here... (She was somehow talking to herself and was surprised when Davide talked.)

Davide: Hum... it's good to see him out of his room... (She looked at him, curious.) No need to stare at me like that, I won't say more!

Suki: Ah, sure,... sorry, it's Enzo's personal life...

Davide: (He chuckled.) Really an easy target... always apologizing... and making everybody worried... it was easier before you exist...

Davide was, for him, only stating facts, and this time, not in a way to verbally attack the little girl, but Suki, today, took them as a new way of being mean with her and to show his resentments to her. She looked down with shining eyes. She didn't want to show him that she was deeply hurt and about to cry.

Fortunately for her, Davide's phone rung and he focused on his call. She mumbled that she wanted to go to the restroom and was about to quickly leave but Davide caught the back of her sweater.

Davide: Hold on a moment... (He put away his phone.) Where do you think you're going?!

Suki: (She didn't look at him.) Just to the restroom... please...

Female bodyguard: (She showed up from nowhere.) Excuse me, I can take care of that part for Miss Smith. (She smiled to the little girl that felt relieved by her bodyguard unexpected intervention.)

Davide: Okay, don't take your eyes away of her! (He freed Suki.)

Female bodyguard: Sure... Miss Smith, please, this way.

Suki: Thank you.

Davide continued his phone call, but he had his eyes on Suki and the bodyguard until they left the room.

Female bodyguard: Please, Miss, take your time, I'm waiting for you.

Suki: Thank you. (She shyly smiled, grateful.)

Female bodyguard: Excuse me, I don't want to cross the limits, but if you need anything or just to talk, it can be seen as part of my job, so tell me without restrain.

Suki: I... I just needed to refresh myself 2 minutes so thank you.

While Suki was with the bodyguard, Enzo came back where he let his siblings, and he was worried when he didn't see his little sister. Davide told him that she needed the restrooms and that it was easier that the female bodyguard handles that part.

After calming herself 5 minutes, Suki came back with her bodyguard. Davide stared at the two girls with insistence and of course, Suki avoided his look. Enzo said that he made an offer for the game before the auction and that the seller couldn't resist at the amount.

Enzo: Now, that everything is managed here, let's have fun! Suki, I'm sure you never played on old arcade game.

Suki: I don't know what it is.

Enzo: Let me teach you and we can ally to beat that dummy!

Davide: I hope you're not talking about me... And even more if you play with... her! She's more a handicap than an ace card!

Once again, the teasing words of Davide hurt the little girl's feelings. She looked at him with a sadness in her eyes because she didn't want to be a burden for Enzo.

Enzo: Your stupid words only prove that you are a real dummy! Suki is so smart that she can catch on anything pretty quickly and didn't you see how quick her fingers are on her piano? Imagine with a controller, how fast she could be?!

Suki's feelings were going up and down right now. She was sad because of Davide but Enzo's exciting words were giving her energy.

Davide: She really put a spell on you to be so admirative of her... You should not eat or drink things that she gives you... who knows, she is maybe a witch...

Enzo: (He put his arm on Suki's shoulders.) Let's go somewhere far from him...

Davide laughed but followed his siblings. Enzo showed the different games, recent, old, small, big. He explained some of the games presented, saying that some were not appropriate to her age but otherwise, he would be glad to play to some with her. Little by little and thanks to her brother, Suki's mood changed again. She felt better and even had fun with him discovering what he liked so much. Davide even recognized that Suki was not that bad, a big surprise for the little girl.

In addition to the item, he came to acquire, Enzo bought figurines and some other games. At the end of the day, they were pretty tired, and the ride back home was in the calm. There was no one at home and Suki directly went to her bedroom after thanking Enzo for spending time with her. She took a long shower and laid on her bed, closing her eyes.
