Suki was not the only one that had made unplanned purchases in that jewelries shop, Dominico came back home with 2 new watches, a white gold one and a sports' black one.

In the house, a good smell of freshly cooked food was perfuming the kitchen. Mrs Smith had rested a little when she came back home, only to later, prepare a feast for her family and specially her granddaughter. She gave her evening to Aldo and Maria and had the room for herself.

While the old lady was finishing her preparation, Salvatore, Gabriel and Gianni were enjoying a quiet moment in the living room around a drink. As for the rest of the boys, they were out, Saturday night's party was coming.

Dante: We're back... hum... that's smell good...

Salvatore: Your grandmother cooked for tonight. (He smiled.) Suki, did you have a good day? (He stared at her.) Come sit next to me... (She sat with a little smile, and he delicately touched her right cheek.)... Did you cry? (He looked at the boys.) Something happened?

Dante: (He sat too.) A minor incident but she's fine.

Dominico sat comfortably too, and the three men were waiting for more explanation about that 'minor' incident.

Dante: A pickpocket stole her necklace at that Asian market, but I retrieved it for her. No injury, but your daughter cried like a baby when she thought to have lost it... (Suki blushed, embarrassed.)

Salvatore: Suki, are you alright?

Suki: Yes... I was not hurt... but I was sad, that's all.

Salvatore: It's just a necklace Sweetie, I can buy hundred of it.

Suki: But... it is important for me!

Dominico: It's because it's your gift, Uncle. We made it repaired; everything is good now... but your daughter seems to be the sensitive type...

Salvatore: Yes... she is, but it is one of her quality. (Suki smiled at her father.) You should go refresh yourself first before we head to the dining room.

Suki: I have something for you... can I give it to you first?

Salvatore: For me? (He smiled, proudly.)

Suki: (She grabbed the bag on the floor.) It's just a small gift... and there is one for Gabriel's too... and Nonna also... (She was embarrassed to have everyone staring at her.)

Gianni: And me? I don't have anything? Everyone has one except me?

Dante: I didn't receive anything either, Bro'... and I even advanced the money for grandma's gift!

Salvatore: Don't be jealous and work hard to deserve it!

Suki almost regretted to not have wait to give the gift, and not in front of the others. She didn't expect that Dante and Gianni wanted to receive something from her. She felt a bit guilty to not have bought anything for them.

Salvatore: I love it! I'm very happy to receive a gift from you but I hope that you didn't spend your entire pocket money for this.

Suki: No... (She gave his to Gabriel.) Onii-san...

Gabriel: Thank you... it's a really nice surprise. (He opened the box.) I will wear it proudly.

Suki: I'm glad that you like it... (Her cheeks were pink.) I'm going to see Nonna now... (She quickly left to the kitchen.)

Salvatore: It's a great feeling to receive a gift from his child.

Dante: Lucky you, now you have a wonderful daughter that spends her entire pocket money to buy you expensive gifts... not like your mean billionaire sons than never spent one dollar for you except for mandatory occasion!

Salvatore: (He smiled, proudly.) Exactly!

In the kitchen, Mrs Smith had finished the dinner's preparation when Suki entered. She was quietly enjoying a tea while reading some emails on her phone. Suki sat next to her and timidly offered her the gift she bought. The grandmother couldn't hide her emotion when she received it. She was so happy that she immediately took off the earrings that she was wearing to put the new ones. Then, they went to the living room and Mrs Smith showed to the boys the wonderful gift that Suki gave her.

Mrs Smith: Boys, look at the wonderful gift my Suki chose for me! (She showed them the earrings.)

Salvatore: Indeed, beautiful... but you are not the only one that received a gift today.

Suki: I'm going to shower before dinner... (She quickly went upstairs, embarrassed by the praising competition between her Father and grandmother.)

Mrs Smith: She's the cutest. Salvatore, don't forget to give her more money next time, she probably used all her savings for this.

Salvatore: She barely accepts pocket money, but I will find a way.

When Suki was done with her shower, the family shared the dinner prepared by Mrs Smith. They spent an excellent moment around traditional Italian dishes. After that long day, Suki went to sleep around 10.30pm, just like her grandmother.

The boys retreated in their respective rooms around midnight, only Gianni joined a bit earlier a girl at a hotel bar. Later in the middle of the night, the three youngest came back and ate the remaining food.

The next day, as planned, Dominico prepared himself for his trip to Miami. He was flying on the evening, but he was not the only one on the departure. Mrs Smith was leaving with him. The grandmother had decided that it was time for her to go home.

As Miami was only a bit more than one hour from Palm Beach, so Dominico would spend the night at Mrs Smith's house before his meeting the next day.

Suki: You're leaving... already...

Mrs Smith: I have to, Sweetie, but I will come back soon, and you can also visit me anytime. I don't want to see you sad, okay? (Suki nodded with a little smile.) Great.

Salvatore: Suki, it's only a matter of few weeks before you can see your grandmother again. You will be so busy that you won't see the days passing. (Suki nodded.)

Danilo: You know, I'm staying here... so it's maybe a good occasion to get to know each others a bit more... what do you think?

Suki: Yes... if you want...

Danilo: You don't seem really enthusiast.

Dominico: That little girl needs a certain time to open herself to other.

Danilo: Hum... I think I know why... (He looked around and bent to murmur.)... I adore my cousins but I'm not like Vito and Davide, so don't judge be before knowing me, okay?

Suki: Yes... sorry... (She shyly smiled.)

Mrs Smith: Danilo... (He smiled and put his arm around Suki's shoulders and Mrs Smith stared at them.)

Danilo: Weare future best buddies, Grandma, don't worry.

Suki tried to show a natural smile to her grandmother, but everyone could see that she was not really comfortable, and her smile, not natural at all.

Mrs Smith finished to prepare her luggage and after a light lunch with the entire family, Gabriel was ready to leave with Dominico and Mrs Smith. He was in charge to accompany them to the airport.

After a last long hug with her grandmother, Suki preferred to go to her bedroom. She pretexted to have homework to do to stay quietly alone. Salvatore noticed his daughter's deception that his mother was leaving but he couldn't do anything more than to give her the space she needed.

The little girl wanted to give back to Dante the money he lent her to buy the gift for her grandmother. She took the little pouch where she kept her savings. It was hidden in the walking dressing room, in a simple black box.

In that pouch, she had kept another treasure, her mother's bracelet. It was not a pricy one, but her favorite one and so, a precious memory for Suki. After few seconds lost in her thoughts, she took almost all her savings to complete the money left in her wallet. It was time to pay back her debt, at least, for her.

She got out of her bedroom and went to Dante's one, hoping, or maybe not, that he was there. She knocked and waited for his answer, and his deep voice answered to come in.

Suki: (She entered.) Dante...

Dante: Hum... (He was texting and didn't look up.)... why is the white little lamb coming into the mean black wolf den?

Suki: (She stopped near his desk.) This is the money I owe you.

Dante: Really... (He looked at her with a smirk.)... You didn't forget one penny, I hope...

Suki: No... thank you again. (She handed him the bills.)

Dante: You can put it on the desk, I'm busy right now.

Suki: Okay.

She placed the money on the desk and put one of the decorative object of the desk on it to be sure that it won't move. She looked at her brother once again, but he was still focused on his phone. She left silently, she had given him back his money, she didn't owe him anything anymore.

Dante saw his sister leaving his room from the corner of the eyes. As soon as she closed the door, he stood up and checked the money. She really gave him all his savings, as promised. He smiled, pretty proud.

Dante went to his walking dressing and on the top of the wardrobe, he grabbed a box. Inside, there was a lot of tools to crave wood. The young man returned to his bedroom and under his desk there was a pretty big piece of wood. He connected his phone to his Bluetooth speaker and started working on the wood. He spent the rest of his day doing that.

After his Father showed to Suki the little animals he created when he was young, it reminded him of the great feeling of calm he felt while doing it. And the fact that the little girl liked it, made him think of carving something new for her. And today, he knew exactly what to do.

When dinner time approached, Dante stopped his work to join everyone and went back directly to his bedroom when he was done. He wanted to finish with this tonight. Around midnight, he eventually put down his tools and checked his sculpture.

It was a pretty big piece; a piggy bank in form of a bunny. He only painted the eyes with a beautiful green blue color.

Dante was pretty satisfied of his creation, even more because he hadn't done something like this for decades. After all this time focused on that work, he deserved a beer to relax. But before that, he had to deliver the product of his hard work to her new owner, with a little gift inside.

The corridor was quiet and dark, with only a slight light to guide his few steps toward the little girl's bedroom. Dante slowly opened the door, sure that Suki was soundly asleep at this hour. There was still a little bedside lamp to light the room with a warm pastel color.

Suki's brother put the piggy bank on her desk and quietly left as he came. She will discover it the next morning when waking up. Whenhe headed downstairs, Gianni was the only one still present.

Gianni: You were not sleeping... you spent your day in your room.

Dante: No... busy on something. How was the chick last night?

Gianni: Pretty skillful... (He smirked.)... I like sporty girls; they have endurance and like to relieve challenges.

Dante: As long as the girl is still very feminine, I'm good with that type... because some of the fighters that come to your club... are really not my style!

Gianni: Trust me, Brother, that one... clearly one that you would like... a pro dancer... for a basketball team.

Dante: Really? I'm sure that this lady has friends, right?

Gianni: A full team of friends... yeah...

The two brothers stayed in the living room for 30 more minutes before going to their bedrooms.

The next day, Suki woke up at her usual time to go to school. She was following her morning routine and didn't immediately notice the piggy bank on her desk. She was ready to go downstairs for breakfast when she saw that unfamiliar object when grabbing her school bag.

Suki: What... is this... (She took the piggy bank and saw the money inside.)... Did Dante... why...

Suki kept the unexpected gift in her hands for long seconds. She was deeply touched and even if she was a bit embarrassed of facing him, she had to thank her brother.

She grabbed her school bag and left her bedroom. She stopped by Dante's one, hoping that he was there but he didn't reply when she knocked at the door, and she didn't dare to enter by her own initiative.

She went downstairs and Dante was in the kitchen, with Gabriel and Gianni. He was serving himself a cup of coffee and they obviously just came back from the gym room or their morning jog. She stared at his back and her cheeks took a natural pink color, thing that didn't go unnoticed from her two other brothers.

Suki: Good morning, everyone...

Gabriel: Good morning, Suki. Everything is alright?

Gianni: Are you sick? (Dante turned himself.) Do you have a fever?

Suki: No... I'm fine... hum... Dante...

Dante: (He smirked.) What? Is there something wrong?

Suki: The bunny piggy bank... and all the money... why did you put it in my bedroom?

Dante: Because it's yours... If you don't like it, throw it away...

Suki: No... I like it a lot! (Dante chuckled.) Thank you, but the money, it's yours... the one you lent me.

Dante: No... it's yours too. I'm too old to have pocket money, you know. And I'm maybe a bad guy, but not that bad to take kid's money!

Suki: (She blushed even more.) Thank you... really.

Gianni: You are pretty generous, Dante... if you have too much money and don't know what to do with it, I'm ready to help you... and I don't need you to carve a piggy bank for me, thank you.

Dante: Shut up!

Gianni: Ah... so cruel! Mind your language, brother, the kitten will be scared otherwise.

Gabriel: Suki, take a seat and have your breakfast. (He had a bright smile, happy that his brothers changed that much thanks to Suki.)

Suki: Onii-san, do you know if Nonna came back home safely?

Gabriel: Yes, she was safely brought back by Dominico. I'm sure that she is going to be busy for the coming days with her charity works and meeting her friends. Old ladies these days have a very dense social life, even more than young people with a full-time job. You can text her, or video call her later after school.

Suki: Yes... I will text her. (Vito entered.)

Gabriel: Vito... (He checked his phone.)... you're improving, not running after time in the morning anymore.

Vito: Exams this week... so even if I'm not a big fan of school, I don't want to look like an idiot and fail my year.

Gabriel: I'm glad that you show a minimum of interest in your studies.

Dante: If he doesn't want to work at one of our old factory as a simple employee, he should at least be graduate from high school.

Gianni: Don't worry, little Bro', I can always hire you at my club if you need a job... we always need people in the cleaning team!

Vito: Thanks, I will keep that in mind... Anyway, after that week, it will be pretty chill at school with the foreign students' arrival.

Gianni: It's already this time of the year... I remember... that cute little Irish girl...

Gabriel: Gianni... (Gianni smiled at him in a fake way.)

Vito: You were lucky because it's usually only a bunch of nerds... just like her. (Suki tried to not show any reaction.)

Gabriel: Vito, mind your words.

Vito: (He gave the same fake smile to Gabriel.) With my luck, Miss Paris will find the most annoying ones to assign to my group.

Gianni: The sexy Miss Paris is in charge of the students?

Vito: Yep, by the way... Gab... you can maybe talk to her about that...

Gabriel: (He smiled.) I am sure that Miss Paris will find the most suitable students to assign to your class.

Salvatore: (He entered the kitchen.) Good morning, Suki, Vito. (He had already saw his sons earlier.) Vito... having breakfast before school...

Suki: Good morning, Otô-san. (She smiled to him, and he patted her head with affection.) Vito... having a normal breakfast before school...

Vito: Good morning... yeah, yeah... I know...

Salvatore: It's never too late to do the right things, I guess. Suki, I'm driving you to school today, so finish your breakfast quietly and join me in the living room when you are ready. (She nodded and he left.)

Gabriel: (He stood up.) I'm going to prepare myself, Dante, we're leaving in 20 minutes.

Dante: Yes, Sir! (Gabriel shook his head and left.)

Gianni: I'm going to shower too... I have some work to do at the Club.

Suki: Dante...

Dante: (He finished his coffee.) What?

Suki: The foreign students that you were all talking about, what is it?

Dante: Every year, around this period, the school welcomes around 30 students from prestigious school from all around the world. Only last year students, to offer them the possibility to know more about our school system and a good occasion to visit universities in New York too. Everything is handled to facilitate their stay. And as mentioned by Vito, those students are usually the best of their school.

Suki: Ah... okay... it's a good experience.

Dante: Yes, I guess.

Vito: 3 weeks abroad totally free... pretty nice gift, yeah.

Suki: And is there students from our school that do the same abroad?

Vito: (He smiled.) Why? You want to study abroad? I can organize everything for you and even buy you a first-class flight ticket!

Suki: (Suki couldn't hide her frowning face.) No..., I was only curious.

Dante: (He glared at Vito.) Focus on passing your exams successfully otherwise, you will be the one to have to go to study abroad... and not in a prestigious school... or I'm sure that we can find a piece of plot of land for you in Italy to learn farming!

Vito: Bro', I'm just joking! Since when do you take her side so openly?! Seriously... you're all such annoying... (He stood up.) I'm leaving...

Dante: That idiot... acting like a jealous kid...

Suki: (She stood up too.) I have to go too... thank you again, Dante... for the piggy bank... the money... and for... (Her face was red.)

Dante: Yeah, yeah... go to school, study hard, don't put yourself into troubles and don't let anyone bother you... go!

Dante had cut her off because he was a bit embarrassed by the situation, just like the little girl. Suki smiled to him and made a little hand sign and wished him to have a good day. He nodded with a hand sign too, saying to leave.

Salvatore saw his daughter coming with pinky cheeks but a bright smile, so he didn't ask anything. The ride to school was quick and when Salvatore parked the car, he asked Suki to wait for a second. He took his wallet and handed her some money.

Salvatore: Take this, it's your pocket money.

Suki: Otô-san, I don't need it.

Salvatore: Suki, you bought gifts for everyone, and it was expensive ones. So, please, this time, accept it. (He stared at her.)

Suki: Okay... but you know... Dante gave me all the money he had lent me, that I gave him back... he even carved a beautiful piggy bank for me... it looks like a bunny... and he painted the eyes in green.

Salvatore: That's nice from him but keep that pocket money anyway. Now, I want you to receive a little something every week. And it was an order from your grandmother. You don't want your Dad to be scolded because of this, right?

Suki: Otô-san, you already used that type of argument...

Salvatore: It is a pretty solid argument; don't you think so?

Suki: It's an easy one.

Salvatore: My daughter is really smart. Have a good day at school, eat well during your lunch break and I will see you tonight for dinner.

Suki: You too, be careful at work and don't forget to have lunch.

Salvatore: Sure.

Suki got out of the car and entered the school. She had time to greet Haru before her first lesson and as usual, they met during sports class. Then they had lunch together and the rest of the day passed quietly. In the evening, Suki had a video call with her grandmother for 20 minutes. Then the entire week passed, and it was Monday again.
