The entire day flew by.

I haven't seen Rivo and Santo that much, except for lunch where I could feel their eyes on me.

Didn't get into more trouble, which is great, and successfully avoided bumping into people and those who I already did.

Apparently Raven is, just like Ares said, the head cheerleader. Every time she walked down the hall, people began talking.

There are so many rumors about her, it's crazy. Apart from the whole 'sending the bitch her boyfriend cheating on her with to the hospital' thing, she also got a teacher fired not so long ago.

Some said it's because he refused to let her do the assignment with her friend, and others said it's because she slept with him and didn't want anyone to find out.

They repeated the same words to describe her- crazy, and scary.

Its just kept going, and not once did she look in their direction.

I also didn't see Carter and Tristan anymore.

I mean, I did see them. I passed Tristan as he made out shamelessly with a brunette girl from my math class.

Carter was also there, scoffing at him as if they were in the middle of a conversation before Tristan decided a make up session was more fun.

We made a brief eye contact, and I mouthed a 'thanks' for his previous advice on how to cheat my way out of the principal's office.

Theo pulled my hair from behind before I could see Carter's reaction.

I kicked Theo in the balls.

Before I knew it, it was time to leave.

I'm currently sitting on the ground of the parking lot, waiting for a familiar car to pull up.

Jace was here even before the bell rang, scared shitless we decided to run away again.

I guess my older brothers don't think that's an option, seeing it's already... Twenty three minutes past the end of school.

"I'm going to kill him." Rivo muttered besides me, jaw clenched tight and eyes glued to the road.

Yeah, at least I'm not being stranded alone.

"Come on, maybe something happened and-" Santo patted his tense shoulder, but Rivo shook him off.

"Something happened? Yeah, right," he scoffed. "Probably got drunk and forgot the address."

At that, I got confused. Drunk? From what I gathered, Alessandro is so not the type to-

My eyes widened. No.

"Are you saying that Riccardo is supposed to pick us up?" I screeched, stumbling up to my feet.

Driving around with Riccardo? That's a thing I promised myself to never do again. He got no fear.

"Yeah, he- oh, he's here." Santo pointed to the black car that entered the almost empty parking lot, but even if he didn't, I'd have no problem noticing myself.

He drove so fast, that it was impossible to not notice.

"We're going to die." I mumbled, looking at them with wide eyes. "How are you okay with getting into that car?"

Riccardo lowered his window, looking absolutely terrifying with his dark sunglasses and teasing smirk.

That is not a smirk I want the guy who's driving me to have.

"Why are you making me wait? Get in."

If we were in a cartoon, I'm sure smoke would have come up from Rivo's ears. He turned to face me with narrow eyes.

"If I'll end up killing him, will you rat me out?"

I glanced back at Riccardo, and then at Santo who was looking just as unsure as me.

"Only if I get the front seat." I need that air bag, okay?

Santo returned his eyes to me. "Don't even bother, Riccardo-"

Rivo cut him off by shaking my hand. "Deal."

I suspiciously eyed the car, and finally decided to get in after the both of them did.

I tried to open the front door, only to be bluntly yanked back. The door is locked.

I gave them a 'what the hell?' look, and Rivo stuck his head out the window, smiling with a raised eyebrow.

"The thing is," His smile widened upon seeing my annoyed expression. "Our dear brother has a 'no sitting next to me' rule. You'll just have to sit in the middle for the rest of your-"

A loud click caused him to stop mid sentence.

Riccardo unlocked the door.

My eyebrows shot up, and even Santo seemed surprised.

"Get in." Riccardo nodded, and a smile broke out across my face. With a final middle finger to the shocked Rivo, I did as he said.

"What?" Rivo demanded once Riccardo began to drive. "Why the fuck is she allowed to be there?"

I waited for an answer and when nothing came, I turned my head back to Riccardo.

My heart almost stopped beating.

"Look at the road!" I yelled, snatching his phone from his hand. I guess I took him by surprise, because the wheel did a dangerous twirl, causing us to almost fly out of our seats.

His head shot to mine for a second, and even though he had sunglasses on, I could easily imagine the pissed look he must have had.

"Give me back my phone! Annoying the driver is a criminal offense!"

Santo was holding the ceiling handle so tight that his knuckles turned white. "Why are you always so desperate on killing us?" he muttered through gritted teeth, and if looks could kill, Riccardo's head would've been blown off.

"Shut up, all of you!" he yelled, pressing the gas even harder. "My car, my rules. I didn't plan on killing you, but if you'll continue to be little shits I might as well do it."

I somehow don't find it hard to believe.

"Okay, okay! Just slow down!" I yelled back, watching how everything looks like a blur from the window.

"You know, I left my work early just to pick you up. A little 'thank you' would have been appreciated."

"We waited for half an hour." Rivo mumbled, and Riccardo immediately took his glasses off, giving him a look from the mirror.

"You want to be left in the middle of the road again?"

Again?

All of us stayed quiet for the entire car drive.

I decided to roam around the house. Living in a giant mansion and not walking through it? Doesn't sound like me.

Apparently there's a theatre room, an indoor pool, a gym, and so many bedrooms.

I was planning on walking outside to see the gardens, but voices made me walk to the back of the house.

Yeah, the curiosity killed the cat and whatever, but this cat got claws.

I walked slowly, watching guards entering and leaving the room closest to the back door.

I remotely remember Alessandro telling me not to be here. Shit, my bad.

I understood there's absolutely no way for me to sneak into this room, so I hid behind a wall and listened to a conversation two of them were having.

"Do you think they'll bring backup?" A woman asked. "Viktor is not stopping, it's only a matter of time before his men will try to strike here."

Who's Viktor?

A masculine chuckle followed her words. "They can try all they want, nothing will get past us."

"Could you not be an arrogant shit for two seconds?" She snapped, and I almost smiled. "I think you forget Viktor has nothing to lose. He spent years waiting for the right opportunity."

I furrowed my eyebrows. It's very obvious that I'm missing the context, but you don't need to be a genius to understand they are talking about someone who'll try to break in here.

The woman's next words gave me chills. "As long as Olive's here, he'll never back down. He took her once, and he'll try to do it again. This time I don't think he'll pass the opportunity to shoot her between the eyes, does your small brain gets that?"

I stayed frozen in place. It felt so hard to breath, but I couldn't bring my hands to my throat.

Viktor is the one that... The one that kidnapped me as a child. And she says he's coming back to kill me.

Shoot her between the eyes.

If I'll stay here for a second longer I'll have a full on panic attack in front of their eyes, and I can't let them know I spied on them.

I stumbled back, running until I reached the safety of my room.

But I'm not really safe here. Alessandro promised that everything is alright, that I won't have to worry anymore.

I have to tell him, I have to tell all of them, I-

The guards work for them. They know.

I felt myself sinking down to the floor, my back pressed against the door.

They know someone wants to kill me, and they didn't say anything. Alessandro looked me in the eye, and told me not to worry.

All while he knew.

Was he scared that I'll freak out? Because I most certainly am. Still not a fucking excuse for not telling me someone is planning to kill me.

Sure, we have guards here, but what if he'll come when I'm at school? What if I decided to take a walk and-

That's why a car followed me when I walked over to Jace's house a week ago! I thought it was just protocol or something rich people does, you know? Bodyguard type of shit?

But it was for protecting me if this Victor will send people to shoot me between the eyes.

A knock on my door made me jump to my feet, hands clenched tight in fists in front of me.

"Hey, you awake?" Amadeo's voice asked, and I felt like throwing up.

How am I supposed to act normal around them? Like I didn't just learn I have a dangerous man on my tail? A man even the guards are wary of.

I backed up against another wall, closing my eyes and trying to silence the voice creeping up from the depths of my memory.

"You'll never leave this place, Olive."

My neck began to sting, and I could almost feel the same knife that was moving slowly and painfully that night all the way down from my ear to my waist.

The feeling of cold metal and horror.

"Back off, or I'll slit her pretty neck horizontally next."

Chapter 29!

From now on, the chapters will be longer. This one is almost 1800 words, and my goal is to not make them shorter than that.

I would like to hear your thoughts about this and the rest of the chapters :)
