"Olive!" I yelled as soon as she jumped out of the car. It didn't take a genius to realize she's ignoring me, so I had to just watch her walking away while pushing violently people out of her way.
I found it surprisingly hard to resist the urge to knock the hell out of everyone who's glaring at her, but I had to. Especially when she's going to give the son of a bitch a heads up.
I was just about to reopen the door she slammed in my face, but then the sound of Alessandro's voice made me turn my head to the side.
"I'm going to the office today. Amadeo and Riccardo are coming too." He said, glancing shortly at Santo before pulling a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket, all while not taking his eyes off of me through the rear mirror.
The questions were begging to slip out of my mouth, but his 'business' tone made it clear it's better to just shut up this once.
"Watch over your sister."
"I fucking will." I muttered and got out of the car, already forgetting about everything I wanted to know about their day at the office.
Kingsley won't even dare to look at her once I'm done with him.
"Hold on, Rivo. Just-" Santo jogged to my side, rubbing his forehead with one of his hand. I glanced at him, but didn't say anything.
"Remember what you said before?" he asked, trying to keep up with my fast pace. "About sending Carter to the hospital and all that?"
"What about it?" I muttered impatiently, turning my head around to maybe get a look at the one punchable face I'm looking for in the crowd.
"Well," he started, but got cut off when someone bumped their shoulder into him. I kept walking, not taking my eyes of the people in front of me.
Where the fuck is he?
I didn't even notice Santo was back until he opened his mouth. "Maybe you shouldn't do that."
"What?" I hissed, stopping dead in my tracks. How the hell can he say that? We find out Kingsley has the nerves to chase Olive, and he wants me to back off? Is he fucking crazy?
Santo ran his fingers through his hair, and his eyes kept jumping from one person to the other before settling back on me. "Look, I know I was the one who brought this all thing up," he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "But you can't beat him up."
I narrowed my eyes and took one step towards him, feeling the hot wind ruffling my hair. "Like hell I can't."
"Rivo!" he yelled after I started walking again towards the entrance of our school, and I know him well enough to spot the frustration in his voice.
"What?" I shot, turning around. "Everything about it is so fucked up, and you wouldn't have told us if you didn't think so too."
"Yes, but-"
"So let me deal with him." I gritted out, cutting him off with my fists clenched.
I know Kingsley. I've known him since middle school, and I know he's got a lot of unsolved issues. I remember him being a part of our school's basketball team, but then he was kicked out, all because of some massive fight he had with a guy from the another team.
It's pretty hard not to remember this, especially with how they called the fucking cops on him. He's a reckless idiot, and the only times I actually see him is during detentions. I don't want her anywhere near guys like that. Guys like me.
Or near guys in general.
"Just imagine what Olive's gonna think!" Santo called, quickly catching up with me. "Do you really think she'll forgive you about doing that? I mean, she didn't even say a word to me all morning."
I shook my head angrily, telling myself none of it matters. Do you really think she'll forgive you?
"I don't care." I emphasized, trying to make him understand. "He shouldn't talk to her, he shouldn't even be around her!"
"Yes, you made that one very clear when you beat up the guy from her biology class." he muttered sarcastically, grabbing my arm firmly.
I glared at him and stopped walking, but Santo didn't let go of my hand. "This is not about Carter, you ass. It's about Olive, and if you'll go in there," he pointed towards the hall I was heading to. "And beat him up, you'll throw away the little trust she has in you. Trust me on that one."
I clenched my jaw and yanked my arm away from his grasp, feeling the anger rise in me. "Fine." I said. "Than I'll be the bad guy, because you're too scared to watch after her."
I could tell he wasn't done talking, but I sure was. The fuck is he talking about? Trust? I don't give a shit as long as Kingsley realizes he has no business around my sister.
I walked around for a minute, and just before I made a turn to my right, I caught the sight of her pony tail and her backpack, going into one of the empty classrooms. But that wasn't what made my blood boil.
It was who she was dragging into there with her.
I'll fucking kill him-
"Hey, man."
My view was suddenly blocked by someone, and I turned my glare towards him.
"Get the fuck away." I breathed out angrily, taking one step to the side in order to walk past Ares. But I was soon blocked by the other idiot, Theo.
"D'you think you could show me some moves on the court?" Ares smiled while sliding his hands into his jacket's pockets, not moving. "Gotta keep my head in the game, you know."
I tried to keep my eyes on the door Olive just walked through, and when I opened my mouth, I was cut off by a snort.
"Did you just quote 'High School Musical'? You're such a loser, Ares, I swe- Hey, woah." Theo blocked my way again when I tried to push him away. "Can't let you do that."
"Move before I knock you the fuck out of my way, my sister's friends or not." I said, looking between them with no trace of humor.
If she sent them to stop me, they fucking can't. Every second I waste here, is one second more of him being around her, and I can't let that happen. I won't.
"Come on, let's not take it that far." Ares said, putting one of his hands on my shoulder. "We're all on the same side here, yeah? It's-"
"Quit stalling and move." I shook his hand off of me, almost growling. They are testing my already non existing patience, and I know exactly how this will end. "I'm giving you two fucking seconds."
Ares glanced at his friend, who was stupid enough to shrug. "Come on." Theo smirked, looking between us with a raised eyebrow. "He's very clearly bluffing- fuck!"
He took one step back, tilting his head up while holding his nose. I shook my hand and looked down, clenching and unclenching my fist before wiping off his blood from my knuckles with my shirt.
"He just attacked my face!" Theo exclaimed, looking at Ares with wide eyes. "Why didn't you tell me he wasn't fucking bluffing?"
"You're the dumbest boy- hey! Rivo!" I heard him call behind my back, but I was already running to that classroom.
I yanked the door open, and they both snapped their heads towards me. Olive was leaning against one of the tables in the far corner of the room, while Kingsley was standing by the board, smiling at her.
Hell no.
I guess my intentions were clear on my face, because even before I managed to take a step forward, Olive was already making her way towards me.
"Rivo, just-"
"Who the fuck do you think you are?" I ignored her and started walking, dying to rip his head off his body and wipe off that smile.
Just before I could grab him by his collar, Olive came to stand between us, pushing me away. "Don't do it, Rivo."
She looked at me straight in the eyes, and I knew that if she's not going to leave now, then I'll say and do things I'll regret later.
"Go away, Olive. It's between me and him."
"Is it? Because I think it's none of your business-" Kingsley started, but when we both turned to glare at him, he held his hands up in mock surrender.
He has a fucking death wish.
"This is not what we talked about, Carter. Shut up." Olive hissed while putting her hands on my chest, stopping me from jumping forward and strangle him with my bare hands. For some reason, hearing her actually talking to him only made my anger grow.
"She's my sister, you son of a bitch, it's sure as hell my-"
I snapped my head back to the sound of the door being opened, and what I saw made me want to kill someone even more.
"We tried to stop him." Ares said, leaning against the door while assessing the situation in front of him. He glanced at me for a second, but soon brought his eyes back to the guy next to him.
"Yeah." Theo panted, pressing a bunch of toilet paper to his bleeding nose. "And like always, I was the one paying the price."
I clenched my jaw and turned back to Olive, who was looking at me with wide eyes. "You punched Theo?"
"It doesn't matter-" I started, but she shook her head in disbelief before pushing me harshly out of her way.
She took his head between her hands and pulled him closer, but he quickly slapped her hands away, looking at me. "I'm fine, I don't really think he put his entire force to it."
"I wasn't." I nodded, finally tearing my eyes away from them and bringing them to the only reason I'm here. "I was saving it for someone else."
"Is that supposed to scare me?" Kingsley pushed himself off the wall, looking at me with a raised eyebrow. "To make me run away?"
"Wha- Carter!" Olive exclaimed. She grabbed my arm and pulled me back, looking like she's prepared to stop whatever fight's about to occur.
I want nothing more than to land a punch after punch on his stupid face, but he's a lucky bastard, because the only reason I'm not doing just that is because Olive's here. But I'm not going to hold back forever.
"What? I like you, I'm not going to apologize for it." he said, and even though his words were towards her, he kept his eyes on me. "And if your brother has a problem with that, I'll be more than happy to avange this guy's nose."
"It's Theo, man." he took his hand off his bloodied face, furrowing his eyebrows at Kingsley. "We met before. Multiple times, actua-"
"Would you shut up?" I hissed, glaring at him. He's not supposed to be here, none of them are. This is between me and the bastard.
"You're not making this easy for yourself." I turned to look back at Kingsley, who didn't even seem close to backing down. "At all."
"I'm not trying to." he said, and that was enough for me to take a few steps forward, closing the distance between us. I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and slammed him against the wall, ignoring Olive's voice from behind me.
"You're not going to fight back like a man, lovebird?" I growled, fisting the top of his shirt. "We both know you can."
"Believe me, I want to." He clenched his jaw, but didn't try to push me away. "But Olive made me promise not to fight you."
"Don't say my sister's name!" I gritted out while pressing my forearm onto his neck, adding more strength to it. Why the fuck did she tell him not to fight me?
I felt her hands on my shoulder, trying to pull me away. "Rivo!" she yelled. "What's wrong with you? Just back off, please!"
After trying to shake her off me with no use, I snapped my head towards her. I was about to yell at her to shut the fuck up and walk away, but even a brief look into her wide eyes was enough to make my muscles gain more tension.
Fuck.
I know that no matter how hard I'll try to keep Santo's words at the very back of my mind, I won't be able to. I can't. Not when she's looking at me like... That.
"Do you really think she'll forgive you about doing it?"
I clenched my jaw and shook my head, turning back to look at Kingsley. He's trying to tilt his head up, trying to get a little more comfortable with my arm pressing down his neck.
"I should be killing you right here, right now." I hissed, adding even more pressure onto his neck. My fist was begging to meet his face, and it looked like he knew it.
He finally pushed me away from him, but it didn't do him any favor. I immediately fisted his collar, slamming him against the wall once again. I'm sure my eyes were blazing, showing him how badly I want to see him bleed all over the floor for even breathing the same air as my sister.
"Rivo, please!"
I gritted my teeth, trying desperately to block her voice out. Kingsley glanced at her, and that was all it took to get me to focus again.
"Don't fucking dare to look at her." I snapped, raising my fist up. Just a second before it connected to the side of his face, Santo's words flooded my mind again.
"If you'll go in there and beat him up, you'll throw away the little trust she has in you."
"Rivo!"
I slammed my fist against the board, just a few inches beside his face. "You do one thing, one fucking thing to hurt her, and you're dead." I snarled, my eyes hardening with rage as I shove him away from me. "Understand?"
He rolled his shoulders back and looked at me for a few seconds, trying to figure out what's going on. "I wasn't planning to." he finally said, slightly furrowing his eyebrows.
I raised my hand and pushed my hair back, not looking at any of them as I kick the door open. I heard Olive call my name, but I ignored it.
I need to get the fuck away before I'll regret everything and go back in there.
The hallways were still full, seeing how both Olive and I insisted on coming to school early today, even if for two different reasons.
And look at that, she fucking won.
Just as I turned to walk down one of the corridors, someone caught my eyes. Santo was leaning against the wall, typing casually on his phone.
I clenched my jaw and walked straight to him, ripping the phone off his hands. "How'd you know?" I asked angrily, slamming the phone onto his chest.
He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows while placing his hand on his phone, talking it back. "What?"
"How did you know exactly what to tell me? How'd you know it's going to fuck with my head?"
The realization hit him in a second, and the smallest smile appeared on his face. "You didn't kill him?" he asked, but it sounded more like a statement.
I took a couple of steps back, rubbing my jaw with annoyance. "I didn't fucking kill him, happy?"
"Cheer up, now she's not going to hate you." he chuckled, lowering his eyes to back to his phone. He raised them again almost immediately. "Why do you have blood on your shirt?"
"It's not mine." I muttered, pulling my jacket closer to hide it. "It's the oaf's."
"Oaf?"
"Theo's."
"What?" he perked up, straightening himself. "Why?"
"Tried to keep me away from Kingsley. Fuck," I shook my head, rubbing the lower part of my face. "I swear, if he's going to do something, I'll-"
"Relax." Santo elbowed me, raising one eyebrow. "I know you don't like him, but he's actually not that bad."
The crease between my eyebrows deepened as I took a step closer to him. "What are you talking about?"
"Josie says he's a nice, respectful boy." he shrugged, adding to my confusion.
"Who the fuck is Josie?"
"The secretary."
"Why the fuck are you talking to the secretary?"
"Wait, how don't you know her?" he asked, equally confused. "You get sent to the principal's office like, every day."
"I-"
"Rivo!"
We both snapped our heads to the right, together with the few people around us.
My shoulders tensed, and I shot an uncertain look at Santo. He pushed himself off the wall, looking directly at Olive as she makes her way towards us.
Let me rephrase that, towards me.
Her eyes are locked on mine, but her face was completely blank.
"Look, Olive, I-"
"Shut up." she said, crushing into my body. I stood frozen, trying to realize if I'm simply hallucinating. After a few seconds, I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her, returning the hug.
"You're a giant asshole for punching Theo, but you're an un-giant asshole for not punching Carter." she mumbled, slightly kicking my leg. "So now you're just an asshole, like always."
I tried to remind myself how angry I am, how the mere thought about him makes me want to kill everyone in this school, but especially? I tried not to smile. I really did, but the eye roll from Santo made me realize how badly I failed.
"Yeah, well," I swallowed as she took a step back, immediately wiping off that smile. "Can't take all the credit."
She furrowed her eyebrows, her eyes darting to Santo. He shrugged, his hands inside his jacket's pockets.
Olive narrowed her eyes, considering him. "You're still a snitch."
They just looked at each other for a few silent moments, not moving a single muscle. "I'll buy you coke and chips for a week."
"Deal." she nodded. "You're forgiven."
ยฐยฐยฐ
"What's Edoardo doing here?" Olive asked, looking confused at the black car ahead of us.
Edoardo, one of our drivers is standing outside of the car, waiting patiently.
"They're probably still at the office." Santo answered, but when she furrowed her eyebrows even more, he added. "After you ran off this morning, Alessandro said he, Amadeo and Riccardo are all going to the office."
"Oh." she said, returning her head towards the car before shrugging. "Shotgun."
"Keep thinking that, goblin. Front seat is mine." Santo snorted, immediately starting to jog down the stairs to the parking lot.
"You can't call me goblin!" she breathed out angrily, following him down fast. "Riccardo calls me that."
"Who do you think he created that nickname for?" I heard him chuckle, and I started to walk down after them. "It's my turn now."
"Goddammit." I heard a familiar voice mutter from behind, and I turned around.
Ares was crouching down, holding something in his hand.
He lifted his head up when he noticed me approaching him, but almost immediately returned to look at the floor.
"This looks like a crime scene." I crossed my arms over my chest, regarding the infinite pieces of glass next to my feet.
Ares snorted, assessing his completely ruined phone. "It really does. Hey, d'you think I could get it fixed?"
I raised my eyebrow, looking back and forth between him and his, well, what was once a phone. "I can see its insides, man. Battery and all."
"Yeah." he sighed, pushing himself up and throwing the phone inside his bag. "I guess Theo's face isn't the only thing that got broken today, huh?"
His pointed look delivered the message, and I ran my hand through my hair while walking down the stairs. "Just tell him I apologize or some shit like that, alright?"
"Nah." Ares shook his head, putting his hand on my shoulder. "You're going to tell him yourself."
I clenched my jaw and glanced at the car I'm supposed to go into, noticing through the windows how Santo and Olive are too busy fighting each other than to even notice I'm not there yet.
"Lead the way." I smiled tightly, and we walked for a few more seconds before stopping by their car.
Ares knocked on the back window, and I watched Theo narrowing his eyes at me. The window started to roll down slowly, and I just had to stand there and wait for it to reach the buttom like an absolute idiot.
"What do you want, Van Damme?" he eventually asked, his tone full of sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes and looked into the car, noticing how there's no one in the driver's seat. "Are you planning to let the car drive itself?"
"My brother had to take an emergency phone call." Theo said, narrowing his eyes even more. "Not that it's any of your business."
"Shut up, Gumby." I rolled my eyes, leaning against the car.
Theo opened his mouth only to close it immediately after, his eyes wide. "Wha-" he started, moving his eyes to Ares. "Why'd you bring him here for? To insult me and-"
"I'm sorry about your nose." I cut him off, nodding at his face. "Next time, know that I'm never bluffing."
"There's not going to be a next time." Ares said, clapping on my back. "Olive's right, you suck at apologizing."
"Fuck off." I rolled my eyes, taking a few steps back. "Am I done here?"
"Yes." he said, not even looking at me before getting into the car. I breathed out heavily and turned around, walking towards our car.
They might even be more annoying then her.
"Where were you?" I heard Olive's voice the second I opened the door.
I raised my eyebrow and looked at Santo, who was sitting at the back. "A trash bag has more spine than you." I said, and immediately got an eye roll out of him. "Hey Edoardo."
"Hello, sir."
"So?" She repeated, turning around to look at me as the car started moving.
"I apologized to your friend."
"You did?" Santo asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "Wow."
"What?" I grumbled, too tired to hear what's his problem now. Olive was still looking at us, waiting for Santo's next words.
"Nothing." he dismissed, slightly shaking his head. I tore my eyes off of him, trying to fish out my phone from my back pocket.
"But-"
"Then don't say nothing!" I shot, glaring at him.
He narrowed his eyes. "I was going to say you've gotten nicer since Olive's got here, but clearly not."
She snorted, finally turning around to sit straight in her seat.
The drive home went just fine. Riccardo, Alessandro and Amadeo were nowhere to be seen, so Olive had no one to tell her to not put her legs on the coffee table.
"Why don't you ever use that huge pool outside?" She suddenly asked, catching the bag of chips Santo tossed her.
"We do." he replied, slumping down on the couch next to her. I was lying down on my own couch, trying to ignore them and fall asleep.
"You do?" she asked, and even though my eyes were closed, I could hear her confusion clearly. "When?"
"Sometimes."
"You're so annoying, Santo. Seriously."
"No, you both are." I mumbled, shifting so now my back faces them. "Let me sleep."
"You can sleep in the pool, seeing how you always go there and never invite me." she muttered, and a second later a pillow hit my head.
I groaned, twisting around to glare at her.
"What?" she smiled, raising her eyebrows. "Got something to say?"
I clenched my jaw and shot Santo a look, who held his hands up. "What do you want from me?"
"To make her shut up." I mumbled, using the pillow she just threw at me to cover my ears. I've had a long day, and not getting to kill Kingsley has made me even more annoyed than usual.
"Fine." her voice was muffled by the pillow, but still loud enough to make me grit my teeth. "But when I'll have a little baby and move out, you'll wish to have a friction of my time."
I snapped my head back, yanking the pillow off me. "What did you just say?" I asked, adding a sharp edge to my voice.
She slightly furrowed her eyebrows, but as soon as she realized what I'm talking about, she shook her head violently. "Ew! No!" she exclaimed, quickly grabbing another pillow to throw at me.
This time I caught it, but she didn't seem to care. "It was a joke, ew! What's wrong with you? I'm not having a baby!"
She got off the couch in a second and turned around to leave the living room, not before shooting me another disgusted look. "I fucking hate you, god."
I glared at Santo, and he gave me the same look as before. "I repeat, what do you want from me?"
"She's out of control." I shot sharply and pointed at her retreating figure, ignoring the middle finger she's giving me.
He shrugged and got up, quickly catching up to her. "Wanna go to the pool?"
I rolled my eyes and banged my head back on my pillow, not even bothering to listen to the rest of their conversation.
He's such a kiss ass, brown nosed sucker. I need to fucking drag him to the pool, and now he's suggesting it himself? Unbelievable.
I don't think even five minutes had passed before I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I wasn't even surprised to find out it's already dark outside.
But the real surprising thing was that Alessandro and Amadeo are still not back.
Riccardo not being around? Now that's normal.
"What time is it?" I shouted while stretching my back, glancing shortly at Santo. He stood by the kitchen island, pouring himself some orange juice.
"Eight, I think." he replied, pulling the glass closer to his lips. "Maybe nine."
I stood up, rolling my shoulders as I walk into the kitchen. I took in his appearance, especially his wet hair and the swim short he's sporting.
"Were you seriously at the pool until now?" I yawned, snatching the cup right out of his hand. He mumbled something under his breath as he walked past me, pressing his wet hand to the back of my neck.
"Son of a-" I started, trying to wipe off the cold water from me. Asshole.
"Olive got out a while ago, but I decided to stay in for another hour or so." he finally answered, taking out a towel from one of the drawers. "I think I have water in my ears."
"Don't start, or I'm shooting myself." I warned, putting the glass on the counter. Every time I manage to get him to the pool, he starts acting like a crybaby.
"You're supposed to give me a reason not to start." he mocked, shouldering me on his way out of the kitchen.
"Where's the other one?" I asked, following him. He snorted, not looking at me behind his back.
"She's not here, you don't have to pretend you're tough."
"She's not here?" I furrowed my eyebrows and stopped walking, watching as he picks up his phone from the couch.
"Yeah, she's meeting up with her friends. Left an hour ago." he shrugged, and I nodded.
"Want to-"
I cut myself off at the sound of the front door opening.
"-don't need you, they're on it." Amadeo's voice echoed through the house, along with their footsteps.
"I don't care, I want to shoot the fucker with my own fucking g-"
"Riccardo!" Alessandro stopped him from completing his sentence just as Santo and I exchanged glances, confused.
"What's going on?" I asked, starting to walk towards them with Santo by my side.
The three of them met us in the middle, looking exactly like this morning. Alessandro, like always, had a black suit on, while Amadeo and Riccardo were wearing casual joggers and T-shirts.
"Why do you have blood on your shirt?" Alessandro asked as soon as he reached us, fisting the buttom of my shirt and pulling it up closer to him.
"It's not mine." I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at the three of them, sensing the tension. "Why?" I asked as Alessandro released my shirt. "What's going on?"
"Where's your sister?" Amadeo asked as his phone started ringing. He turned to look at Alessandro, who nodded at him.
"She's not here, why-" Santo answered fast, watching Amadeo as he walks a few feet away from us, listening to whoever's on the other side of the line.
"Go get her." Alessandro turned to Riccardo, pointing towards the stairs while rubbing his chin.
For once, Riccardo didn't argue with him. He walked fast towards the stairs, climbing two at a time. "She's not in her room, don't-" Santo took a step forward, looking up at Riccardo.
What the fuck is going on?
"Where is she, Aquaman? Come on, spit it out." he quickly descended the stairs, taking in Santo's dripping form. "She's at the pool?"
"No, she's- she's not home, what-" he shook his head, and his words immediately caused Alessandro to drop his hand from his chin.
"What?" he snapped his head towards Santo, closing the distance between them. "Where is Olive?"
"What the hell is going on? What are you-" I exclaimed, coming to stand next to Alessandro. Why the hell is he acting like that?
"I don't know, shit, we were at the pool and she said she got a text from Ares." Santo rambled, running his fingers through his hair. "She told me she's going to hang out with them for a while, it was an hour ago."
I furrowed my eyebrows, not tearing my eyes away from him. She got a text from Ares?
"Alright." Alessandro nodded and straightened himself, shooting Riccardo a serious look. "Call Jace, tell him your on the way and bring her here, now."
"No, wait." I shook my head as Riccardo walked past me, but he didn't listen. I snapped my head back to Santo, looking into his wide eyes.
"Are you sure?" I asked, grabbing his arm before he could chase Riccardo. "She got a text from Ares?"
"Yes, why?" he replied, and I let go of his hand. I turned to Alessandro, who was now approaching Amadeo.
"There's something wrong." I muttered while taking two big steps towards him, making him turn around. "Ares' phone is completely wrecked, I was there when it happened. He wouldn't- he couldn't send her anything."
From the corner of my eye, I saw Riccardo stopping dead in his tracks. "Alessandro." he warned, coming back.
"Shut up." he shot, quickly taking his phone out. Riccardo stormed past me towards the stairs, running up.
"Gianni." Alessandro seethed into the phone, pressing it onto his shoulder while taking his pistol out of the back of his pants. "Who the fuck is with my sister? How many guards?"
"What's going on, Rivo?" Santo asked from behind me, putting one of his hands on my shoulder.
"I don't know, I'm not-"
"Four? Didn't I tell you she was first fucking priority?" Alessandro yelled, making both me and Santo snap our heads towards him. He coked his gun and put it back where it was before, quietly motioning with his two fingers for Riccardo to come closer.
He just got back into view, carrying his black duffle bag. He put it onto the floor and opened it, taking one rifle out and handing it to Alessandro.
I widened my eyes, not realizing what's happening. "Can someone tell us what the fuck is going on?"
"Well, little brother." Riccardo mumbled, inspecting onther one of his rifles. "Today we found Viktor's right hand man's flat, but he wasn't there."
He laid down the gun on the duffle bag and raised his head, looking at me from his crouching position. "We'll find him soon, but now we don't know where Olive is. And he is out there."
Before I could even process his words, Amadeo walked closer to us, still holding his phone close to his ear.
"They tracked down Thiago's phone." he said, not even looking at any of us or the guns. His eyes were solely locked on Alessandro's.
"There's a car there, Alessandro. Our car, four dead guards. His phone is on top of the car, right next to Olive's."
