"Namor if you're going to shoot me, then shoot me"

...

Hearing Nathan speak those words alarmed you but you didn't exit the vehicle. It was dark from the tint of the windows but after moments your eyes adjusted and you could see the silhouette of Namor in the distance. He was pointing a gun at Nathan but the red head remained unfazed.

"Go on, shoot me but don't miss" Nathans stern tone was complimented by his expression, "So help me if you miss, you're dead" Namor began laughing, "Why are we doing this partner?! Do you need the money that bad? Does she know why you need the money huh?" "That's none of her business Namor. I'm getting the job done, with or without you" Namor looked at you through the windshield of the car, "It's for his dying wife. Cancer, I'm sure it was"

Wife? He's married?

"I don't have time for this" Nathan pulled out his gun from his waistband and shot Namor. The handsome man fell to the ground in agony. Nathan quickly ran around the car and jumped in the drivers seat. Before you could even distinguish whether Namor was alive or not, he drove off.

You clung to your seatbelt as Nathan drove over the uneven ground and back onto the main road. He took notice of your shivering and turned the heat of the suv on. The time read 7:36am which explained the cool temperature of the morning. The park you once escaped to was barren and soon you rode past the apartments that Namor lead you to and it looked abandoned.

"Is this a ghost town?" you asked Nathan and he nodded.

No wonder you hadn't seen anyone before.

"So.. you're married? You aren't wearing a ring" you asked Nathan and he noticeably was uncomfortable. "Let's not talk about this" You pushed further, "She's sick?" "Bud out my personal life alright??" he almost shouted and you went silent, "We're going to headquarters. I'm finding the boss. I'm getting the money and finally getting out of this horrid occupation"

Scoffing only showed the surface of your annoyance. You folded your arms and glared at the red head.

"I'll jump out this car right now" you told him and that's when he put the gun on his lap. "Try it" "Nathan?!" He sighed before speeding up the vehicle, "Listen, I need this okay? It's bad enough I had to shoot my partner. It's bad enough you've seen my face and heard my voice. Jesus, it's bad enough that we haven't even done the exchange yet!!"

Nathan began to let out his frustration as he drove with his eyebrows furrowed. He gripped the wheel with anger.

"God! This is just my luck?? Paired with a psycho and stuck with a stubborn girl. Romantic my ass" he muttered the last part and you couldn't believe your ears.

He was frustrated? He was angry!? Nathan was never on your side!

"Namor was right! You're just in it for the money. What was even the point of acting like a morally right kidnapper huh? And you're not even wearing your wedding ring? What a guy!" He was taken back and gave you a look of disgust before putting his eyes back on the road. "Why are you so concerned with my marriage huh? Why do you care about my ring? I don't wear my ring on jobs out of respect okay?" "Respect my ass!" you cussed at him, "How long until we get there?" "We've got hours sweetie so get comfortable" "Don't sweetie me, you're worse than Namor!" He began to yell at you, "I could've left your complaining ass with him to die if you're so ungrateful!!" You laughed, "HA! You wouldn't leave me. I'm worth too much. You have to get treatment for your wife remember??"

He stopped the car completely on the empty road and you jolted forward which made you lose your smile completely. You look at him a bit scared. Ever since the mention of his wife, Nathan has increased in aggressiveness and it wasn't something you were used to. He pointed at you sharply and gritted his teeth before speaking sternly. "Don't you ever, I mean EVER, mention her a-fuckin-gain. Got it? I could have left you with that crazy! I'm not just doing it for the money. I could ditch this job and take on another few high paying ones. So don't you think I won't shoot you right here"

Nathan pressed on the gas again and started back on the trail.

You remained silent not really knowing what to make of it all. It was all a facade. You kept glancing at the gun sitting in his lap. It was a threat. As he continued driving, you tried to make sense of your surroundings but you genuinely did not know where you were. You must've been in another state but you kept watch for signs and buildings that could give you that indication.

Hours passed and that's when you saw another car for the first time. Then you saw people walking in the streets. It was shocking. It felt like forever since you had seen another human being who wasn't your captor.

Your stomach growled and you look at Nathan. "I'm really hungry"

He stayed silent; Angry still.

"I'm starving.." you frowned with a pout and he sighed.

"I heard you"
