The weight of the revelation still lingered, heavy and suffocating.

Evie had a twin.

A sister she had never known.

A sister who had been hidden away, cast into the shadows, while Evie had lived in the light.

And now—Alaric had her.

The moment the headmistress uttered those words, a cold dread settled in Evie's stomach.

Alaric wasn't just using her sister.

He was twisting her. Corrupting her.

And worst of all... Evie could feel it.

A dull, aching pull in her chest. Like a whisper at the back of her mind, just out of reach. A connection that had always been there—but she had never noticed.

She swallowed hard, her voice barely above a whisper.

"...I can feel her."

The room went silent.

Rowan was the first to react, his green eyes narrowing. "What do you mean?"

Evie lifted a hand, pressing it against her heart. "It's... hard to explain. It's like she's always been there, just beneath the surface. A part of me." Her fingers curled into a fist. "And now that I know about her, it's stronger."

Duke's golden eyes darkened with understanding. "Because you're twins."

She nodded. "We were connected from birth. Even if we were separated, that connection never faded."

Sol exhaled sharply. "That means..." He hesitated. "She can feel you, too."

The thought sent a shiver down her spine.

Her sister could sense her. Watch her.

Which meant...

"She'll always know where I am," Evie whispered.

The realization settled over the room like a storm.

Seth swore under his breath. "That's a damn problem."

Rowan's jaw tightened. "More than a problem. If Alaric has already corrupted her, he could use your bond against you."

A heavy silence followed.

Evie pressed a hand to her temple, her mind racing.

They had to find her sister—before Alaric completely twisted her into something unrecognizable.

"We need to search for her," she said, voice firm. "Now."

Duke frowned. "Evie—"

"No." She lifted her gaze, determination burning in her violet eyes. "I can't just sit back and wait for her to come to me. I can feel her. I know she's out there. And if I can feel her..." She hesitated. "Maybe I can find her."

Rowan's expression darkened. "That's dangerous."

Seth's voice was sharp. "And reckless."

Sol exhaled, his blue eyes filled with concern. "But it might be the only way."

Duke clenched his jaw. "We're not letting you do this alone, Angel."

Her heart tightened.

She hadn't even realized she'd been holding her breath.

Even now—after everything—they still stood by her.

She wasn't alone.

Evie gave them a small, grateful smile. "Then let's find my sister."
