It's a long chapter, but I feel it would be worth it if you continued reading. I'm so glad that all of you found my writing good, even if it might not make sense, thank you!

The day of the field trip arrived and Aiden kept his word to leave her alone throughout the week, which she was thankful for. However, throughout the week she could see Aiden still pestering Ashlyn about going on the trip. She did feel slightly sympathetic for her but decided to not intervene since she didn't want him on her back as well.
Y/N carried a medium-sized bag filled with some of her clothes and necessary items for the class trip. Extra pair of clothing, pajamas, her sketchbook, her cell phone, and other necessary things. Standing right underneath a tree was her listening to music while keeping an eye out for the remaining of her group to arrive.
In the distance were her class along with her group at the bus seemingly planning, talking, waiting, or making sure they had everything for the trip. Logan was on the phone with someone, and Taylor was with her brother Tyler, pleading for the bag he had over his back.
'Where are they?' Y/N was still waiting for the three arrivals namely Ashlyn, Ben, and Aiden.
However, a few seconds later they finally arrived, walking towards the bus, followed by Y/N knowing that everyone was accounted for. Right after, Mr. Thomas announced that the bus would fill up and would be leaving in five minutes.
Everyone began boarding the bus, they all took their seat as Aiden and Ashlyn sat together, Ben and Logan, and the twins. As for Y/N, she had a free seat, sitting right behind Ben and Logan. The two boys sitting in front of her didn't bother her since she avoided them, and thankfully they didn't talk to her. She sat in silence, ready to find solace in her sketchbook, though as she was preparing herself Mr. Thomas spoke.
"Okay everyone, I'm sure you already know, but I'm going to go over today's schedule one last time. It takes eight hours to get to Savannah." He then glanced over his watch in the process of his explanation.
"In about four hours, around noon, we'll stop to get something to eat. Once we get to Savannah, you and your groups will have two hours to eat, go on tours, look at historical monuments, explore the area, goof off, etc. After, we'll all meet back up at the bus and head to motels."
"Everyone who has a phone has added Mr. Lee's, Mrs. Sarah's, and my number correct?" Mr. Thomas asked while showing the two other teachers sitting beside each other in the first row.
"Yes." The class replied in unison.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road!"
Y/N sighed in relief knowing it was over, looking down at her sketchbook she wondered to herself. She stared at it for quite some time before deciding what to draw. A massive circle was then drawn on the book with there being two lines over the circle, one going vertical and horizontal. She continued doing more lines and circles until the right amount was needed.
After which, she starts smudging some parts of the drawn areas to give it more light shading as well as feel, making the drawing look more realistic. While on the road, the pencil in the girl's hand slipped, rolling on the ground underneath the seat of Ben and Logan.
"Shoot!" Attempting to reach it, she got on her knees and crouched down, stretching her hand underneath she managed to hold it a few times, but in the end, it proved futile since it just kept slipping further under the seat. She grew annoyed, and thinking quickly she decided to change tactics.
"Um, hey Ben." He turned his head in response upon hearing the familiar voice of Y/N.
'Oh lord, how do I- um-' She stared at his brown as he watched with an almost expression, but deep down he was just confused and concerned about what was wrong. "Could you- maybe, can you get my pencil that's by your foot." He nodded his head slightly, he reached down, grabbing the pencil and handed it to the H/C girl.
"Thanks." The girl muttered thanking him for his assistance before going back to her book with him doing the same.
After finishing up the drawing, she completed the remaining rest of the details before she was fully done. Once she was done the girl smiled, feeling proud of her accomplishment. A smile that showed gentleness and sincerity, though it hinted at one most painful emotion, pain.
Tears welled up in the girl, staring at the drawing reminded her of her childhood and many more. The memories she shared with her loved one were the most precious thing to her. Everything was perfect until the day it changed for her.
Holding out her book she stared at the book with softened eyes, one that showed sadness. The drawing showed a portrait of her mother smiling. It was a replica of her, no detail was even left out. The memory of her mother was engraved in her mind to even forget, she couldn't find herself forgetting the slightest detail about her. She was her joy, her every ounce of happiness.
Her mouth began to tremble slightly as she tried to catch herself from not crying. However, tears couldn't seem to contain themselves any longer as some managed to slide down her face. The girl stood still motionless, her eyes only focused on the drawing. Memories of her childhood flashed before her eyes as she stared at her mother.
All the images in her mind just point back to the happiest moments in her life, her mother showing her the sweetest smile and being the happiest she could ever be. It pains her, just wishing to see her is what she'd do anything for, she missed her so much, more than anything.
Her tears landed on her mother's face, and without realizing it she the word, "Mom..." She soon came to her senses and quickly wiped the tears away.
However, someone who was nearby managed to hear this and then turned their head, which so happened to be one of the boys in front of her.
"Hey... Y/N, are you okay? I thought I heard crying coming from here, but I just wanted to make sure you were okay." The kind-hearted Logan asked, he then noticed some droplets of tears on her book, and looking back at the girl he was certain she was the one crying, but wasn't sure if to say anything about it.
"Oh, I'm alright. It's just- something was in my eyes and it managed to cause me to whimper a bit."
He was slightly convinced, but seeing the droplet on her page wasn't enough to entirely convince him. However, he's not sure if to intervene in her problems since it seems like something he wouldn't understand. In the end, he decided against it saying anything.
As much as he didn't want to leave her there, he knew it wasn't his busy to pry. Right when Logan turned his head and Y/N was starting to collect herself, a voice she knew all too well called out to her in the distance, a very familiar and annoying voice.
"Did I hear a Y/N?" Aiden popped his head up from behind his seat.
The H/C girl lifted her head slightly, seeing the most persistent blonde ever. It annoyed her, he promised he'd leave her alone throughout the trip, yet there he was.
"Wanna play one of my games?" He asked, showing her a rubric cube.
"No Aiden I'm not interested-"
"Oh, don't worry, that's not the only game I have. I have tons of games to last this entire road trip." He held out his bag full of games.
Y/N was stunned at how many games he had in his bag, the amount he managed to fit in such a bag was crazy. Despite her surprise, she didn't show much interest.
"Like I said, I'm good..."
He didn't seem to function with the word 'no' for an answer. He then threw the cube he was holding in her direction. She saw it coming her way and caught it with a bit of shock.
"Try it, it's fun." He said with a smile before turning back around.
Y/N sat there slightly baffled, she scoffs. 'Is he serious?' The girl stared at the cube, inspecting the area around it she could tell it wasn't in place, since each of the represented colors was scrambled around on different sides of the cube. 'Though, this could take me off of all the things in my mind.'
And just like that she played with the cube, and in a matter of minutes she finished in fourteen. For the rest of the ride, it was mostly peace to her ears, at least most of the time. However, over time she grew bored with the cube, and instead, she used her phone for the extra spare time.
They soon arrived in Savannah in a couple of hours later, the bus pulled up in a parking and the students exited the bus to catch a sigh of fresh air. They all stood in their groups as they waited for the teacher's instruction.
Y/N was quite intrigued with the area around her, though what was interesting was it looked like a ghost town. Moreover, it was quiet not to mention it had barely any people along the streets. However, despite all of that, what managed to catch her attention was the nice breeze. Suddenly, cracks of some sort caught the group by surprise, it was loud and disturbing to listen to. Looking at the source she saw Ashlyn sketching while cracking her bones in the process.
'This girl has some monster in her or something?' The H/C girl stared at her with bewilderment, and the most shocking part was that she wasn't in any sort of pain.
That aside, she listened to the instructions that were given to the group, though her mind was deep in thought somehow. She couldn't help but feel a slight chill coming from the back of her neck.
'A warning?' She looked back feeling where the breeze touched the back of her neck. 'It's probably my imagination.' Y/N shrugged, thinking it was just her problems confusing her with reality.
However, like before, this feeling of hers couldn't be ignored forever.
"Hey N/N, Ash, you coming comin'?" Asked Aiden.
'Not like I have a choice anyways...' Y/N began walking towards the group.
Time passed and the group wondered the place. It seemed they weren't sure as to what to do. Logan, one to bring the slightly awkward tension at ease, decided to step in.
"What should we do first?" Logan asked.
"Well, we haven't eaten anything since we stopped for lunch a few hours ago."
"We can get some food and talk about what to do while we eat?" Taylor suggested.
"Sure," Tyler responded quickly, his gaze not shifting to the group once as he was mostly focused, and busy on his phone.
"Sounds like a good idea."
The group soon took a stop to eat, chatting and talking happily amongst one another, except for our slightly socially awkward Y/N, who just sat in silence, eating what she ordered before following the group out. They then visited various historical sites, taking pictures and having fun.
It was amusing, yet she couldn't help but feel a bit bored, since all she was doing was following the group while not interacting. Though she could see Aiden make some attempts to talk to her, she quickly avoided it. Taylor suddenly stopped upon noticing a face-painting stall in the distance.
She got everyone to get one, including Y/N. They all stood by a water fountain. Aiden was stealing coins from it, Ben was lying by the side with a mustache on his face, Ashlyn was sitting on the water fountain ledge while staring at her face paint, and the twins were playing with Logan's camera while he stood there pleading for them to be careful with it.
As for Y/N, she sat on a bench not far from the group while staring into space. Her hand reached for her face, grazing her fingertips on the painting that was on her face. Curiosity struck her and she wanted to look at her face, she didn't know what her painting was since she told the painter to do anything they liked.
She got her phone and went in her camera, looking at her face she saw her face was covered in some cute little words, but in a different language. She wasn't sure but decided to share with her dad.
However, she wasn't the best at taking pictures. It took her some time but she found the right angle and managed to take a picture. Feeling satisfied, she sent it to her dad. He immediately responded once he saw it was lots of hearts, saying he loved it, causing her to smile slightly at his affection behavior. This made her let out a soft laugh, imagining her dad all smiling and giddily, mostly gushing at how cute she was.
'Maybe dad was right, this is kind of fun.' Y/N thought while staring at her dad's messages. As the girl was watching her dad send lots of love, she didn't notice a figure slowly approaching her with their phone out ready to get a surprise picture of them.
Once the figure was close enough they came from behind, "Surprise!"
The H/C girl didn't have time to react as she turned her head to the side only to see the familiar blonde holding his phone.
SNAP!
Y/N saw a flash, she blocked her face with her hand due to the unexpected flash. She looked back up to see Aiden looking at the picture he had taken and was surprised at its results.
"Wow, I'm good at taking pictures of people!" He praised himself.
"Pic...ture. Did you just say you took a picture of me..." Y/N got up from the bench, her head slightly down as she confronted the blonde.
"What- ?" He tilted his head in confusion, feeling a bit of tension in the air he bolted away with his phone in hand.
"Aiden! Get back here and DELETE IT!" She chased him around the fountain, a blush of embarrassment covering her cheeks slightly, she couldn't let him get that photo. Moreover, he didn't even ask, which made it a better reason for her to delete it.
The commotion of the two caught the rest of the group's attention. They all watched as the two of them chased each other comically around the water fountain. They went on for a minute and a half, that's until Y/N managed to tackle him to the ground. She then sat up on his stomach, staring at him with frustration and embarrassment.
Aiden stared at the girl sitting on top of him, his face filled with shock. Taking this as an opportunity she grabbed the phone above his head, going on his camera she deleted the photo and breathed a sigh of relief. Once that was out of the way she got off the blonde and walked back to the bench she was on, leaving him still on the ground with him feeling at a loss for words.
Aiden got off the ground and stared at the girl in the distance. Little did she know that he had anticipated this and managed to save the picture to his camera, saving and sending each of the group in case she managed to find it saved with one of the others.
Soon, the rest of the group got an unexpected text from Aiden. Opening it, they saw the picture of her. The group seemed to have their thoughts as they started at the picture sent. Some stared at the picture for a while, others saved it immediately at the sight. Later, the group then decided to head out. They discussed their next plan while thinking about where else to go before time was up.
"We have forty minutes left."
"Guess we should head back in thirty minutes then," Taylor said to Logan while announcing this to the group.
However, as they were getting on the next topic of what to do next, the voice of a lady called out to the group.
"Excuse me!" The lady had black hair, green eyes, and a maroon shirt. As she walked towards the group of teens she made them an offer. "Would you be interested in a tour of the Sorrel Weed House? A group canceled their tour last minute and now we have some empty spots if you guys are interested."
"Wait really" Taylor was delighted at the offer as she turned her head to the group with literal stars in her eyes, "This place is supposed to be haunted! We gotta go!"
"Sure, I don't care," Tyler spoke causal.
"I'm in!" Aiden said excitedly.
Y/N knew he would be interested. His whole vibe represents haunted. "I'm okay, I think I'll sit this one out. You guys can go."
"Huh, Y/N? You're sitting this one out?"
"Yes Aiden, not like I just said that."
"Aw, c'mon, it'd be fun!"
"For you of course, not me."
"Huh?"
"Hm?" Y/N slightly tilted her head in confusion.
"Y/N... Don't tell me... You're scared at haunted houses."
"What...."
"It's okay Y/N, there's nothing to be scared about."
"I AM NOT SCARED!"
"It's okay, you can hold my hand if you'd like."
"What is this, pre-school? And I'm not doing, nor am I going. You guys can go without me."
"Huh, didn't know you were scared," Aiden said in a taunting manner, this caused an irk mark to appear on the girl's forehead.
"Aiden.... like I just told you, I'm not scared, just not in the feeling of hearing any of it. I'd rather listen to my music, no offense."
The lady held her hand up slightly in an understanding manner.
"I guess you are really scared." He mumbled, completely ignoring what she said.
"I'm not scared for the last time! You know what, I'll go, happy!"
"Of course."
"YAY!" Talyor exclaimed in excitement.
'Why do I feel played just now.' Y/N was indeed played.
"Then right this way." The lady then escorted the group to the destination.
Y/N groaned in annoyance at her falling for his little trap. Of course, he would want her to go, but she'll never understand why. Though, there was a feeling lingering in the air, an uneasy feeling. It was like this feeling was going to swallow them whole as it slowly drew closer and closer.
Little did she know that she already was in danger.

Bonus!
The group's reaction to Y/N's picture
Ashlyn - 'He kinda deserves that beating, but he can take good pictures, 8/10.' She found it comical how the two of them were running around the fountain.
Taylor - 'Aw, Y/N look so cute! I have to save this!' She liked it so much that she accidentally saved it twice.
Logan - 'That's a pretty picture of Y/N, but I would have asked first if I were him.' He finds the picture beautiful, though he feels that it is wrong to save something that she doesn't know about.
Ben - 'Cute.' He found it adoring and saved it to his phone with a slight blush.
Tyler - '... Smooth.' He found himself speechless.
Aiden - 'I think I did a pretty good job, let's hope Y/N doesn't hate me.' She's going to hate him.
