This sounds like the set up to a bad joke.

People screamed, running each and every direction and causing absolute chaos. The men in red suits started pushing their way through the panicking crowd while Trevor's bodyguard started walking towards me.

Sophie, who was arm wrestling some poor soul, suddenly stood up while still holding this guy's hand. She yanked him up, proceeded to spin and chuck the dude through the air. He smacked into the back of the bodyguard, causing him to pause and look back towards Sophie.

It would be really great if I could just pick this guy up and run, but I'm still partially limping thanks to my injuries. And I'd definitely be slowed down trying to carry him.

Guess we'll just have to take care of these opponents first, then get information from Trevor afterwards.

Sophie punched the man across the room, sending him flying to the other side. The three red suit men pushed through the final people of the crowd, now standing in front of us.

Sophie and I pulled out our ski masks, putting them on. The bodyguard stood back up, now leaving all of us in a stand-off. Sophie and I stood in front of Trevor, the three red suit men across from us, and the bodyguard to our left.

"Are you kidding me?!" Roared the man from the counter. "We were 156 days without incident! Bouncers!"

The first bouncer from outside stood back up, starting to approach us. A few more bouncers appeared from the back, adding even more fuel to the fire that is this situation.

"If everyone would just kindly back up..." I smiled. "...then I don't need to shoot anyone!"

"You messed with the wrong guy." The bodyguard cracked his neck.

"The Sever Brothers have a job." One of the men in red suits stated. "Don't get in our way."

I turned towards Sophie. "Do what you do best."

Sophie nodded.

I quickly turned around, pointing my gun towards the approaching bouncers. There were three of them, two of them pausing. The third continued forwards despite the gun pointed towards him.

"Well, I warned you." I shrugged, pulling the trigger.

The bullet slammed into his chest. He stumbled back for a moment, before grinning and running full speeds towards me.

Shit, he has armor under that suit!

The other bouncers starting running towards us as well, including the one on the other side of the room by the entrance.

I stashed my pistol and rolled out of the way as the bouncer jumped over the table in a tackle. He quickly rolled to his feet, dashing towards me with a fist reared back.

I dodged his fist, smacking him across the face with my own. I was suddenly put in a chokehold from behind by one of the men in the red suits, trying to take advantage of the situation.

Sophie smacked a bouncer away, before grabbing another one and chucking him at one of the red suit men. The bodyguard rushed towards, sending a kick to Sophie that connected and sent her flying backwards.

The bouncer glared at me, coming closer and punching me in the stomach. I grunted, throwing my legs up and kicking off of the bouncer's body.

I swung my leg upwards, moving them up and behind the red suit man's head. Our balance changed, causing us to fall to the ground. His head slammed down, causing him to release me and allow me freedom.

That's my best takedown yet!

I rolled to the side as the bouncer slammed his foot down on where I just was. I quickly scampered to my feet, another bouncer coming from behind. He threw a punch, only to hit the other bouncer across the face.

The third man in a red suit approached Trevor, a knife over his head. I quickly hurdled over one of the bouncers, using him as a stepping stone to send myself flying into the red man. The knife clattered to the ground as we both rolled back to our feet.

I quickly ducked as a bouncer flew over my head, courtesy of Sophie. She then rushed the bodyguard, trading a few blows with him before catching his fist. With a grip on him she chucked him over to us, causing him to slam into the red suit man.

"Thanks!" I grinned. "Gotta love a good bar fight!"

The sound of footsteps at the entrance caught my attention as a new person walked into the fray. The person wore a black hoodie with blue stripes on the sleeves, black cargo pants, one black glove, a katana in a sheathe on their left hip, and a kitsune mask.

"Seems like the party started without us." A distorted voice came from the mask.

Oh, it's that new hero Foxfire.

And then, right after her appeared a familiar blonde beauty in a metallic gold and red suit with a flowing red cape.

And the Hero of Hope, Stellar, has arrived too. She looked around the room, quickly accessing the situation, before then her eyes landed on me.

"Ski Mask." She said as her eyes narrowed.

I-

Wait did you just seriously call me-

Stellar suddenly burst forwards in the air, speeding towards me. Sophie jumped in front of me, the robotics in her arm shifting and changing to create a large gauntlet.

She caught Stellar's fist, before throwing her to the side. Foxfire dashed towards the chaotic group of fighting, jumping over a bouncer and kicking a red suit in the face.

Things have gone from bad to worse and while everyone is distracted I'm going to perform a little kidnapping.

I hurdled a bouncer, dodging under a flying red mask before pausing as the bodyguard got in the wall. Sophie was thrown by Stellar, slamming into the bodyguard and sending them both flying.

"Excuse me, coming through!" I shouted as I barreled over a bodyguard, sending him to the ground.

Stellar quickly flew past, where I then continued to run forwards. Foxfire slammed the hilt of her sheathed sword into the face of another red suit as I slid under a bouncer.

Amidst all of the confusion Trevor had rolled off of the table and started crawling away, leaving a small trail of blood. I quickly grabbed him, dragging him along with me towards the back.

"Hey, he's getting away!" Someone yelled.

I pulled Trevor through the back, bringing us into a work area with storage and other things. I pushed him up against the wall and started barricading the door with items.

Stay strong a little longer, Sophie. We're getting out of here as soon as I get some info out of this annoying piece of work.

I turned back towards him, only to freeze in surprise.

Standing in front of him was someone new, who was definitely not there before I had turned to set up the barricade.

It was a woman in a gothic dress, fishnets, leather knee high boots, black gloves that went to the elbows, and a choker. She had curly, short hair where the left side from my point of view was white and the right side was black. Her lips were black and a red tattoo of a heart was on her cheek. And sat across her eyes was a black masquerade mask, but the eye holes were covered with white and didn't show her eyes.

She held a closed umbrella in her hand, the tip of it pierced straight into Trevor's neck. He gagged, coughing and sputtering blood.

"Hey! I needed him alive!" I complained.

She pulled out the umbrella, the tip of it dripping blood. She grinned at me, made a shush sign with her finger, and then suddenly lunged towards me with the umbrella.

I dodged the umbrella, bending backwards to avoid its sharp end. With the unbalance and the pain in my leg I fell onto my back. The woman quickly jumped on top of me, shoving the umbrella downwards to try and impale me through the skull.

I gripped the umbrella, pushing against her and trying to not let me get stabbed straight through the eye. My arms shook as she continued to press down, the grin still on her face.

"You know, this would be a lot more fun if you weren't trying to impale me!" I yelled.

"But isn't that what makes this the most fun?" Smugly retorted the woman.

Uh oh, she quips back!

I quickly jerked my head to the side as I suddenly pulled the umbrella down, causing it to move quicker than she expected and stab into the ground.

I quickly used her moment of surprise to turn us the other way around, to where now I was above her. I tried hitting her with my fist, only for her to dodge and for my hand to land right next to her head.

"How the tables have turned?" I nervously chuckled.

"Sorry, but I like being the dominant one." She smirked.

She kicked me off, quickly flipping back to her feet and pulling her umbrella out of the ground. I quickly got to my feet, before realizing that there was something in my hand.

I looked at my hand, seeing that her mask was now in my clutch. I accidentally grabbed it when she kicked me off of her!

She looked at me with her gray eyes, glancing from her mask in my hand to my ski mask clad face. She readied herself to come at me, only for someone to slam through the wall inbetween us.

The bodyguard of Trevor, who had now failed, laid dazed against the ground as dust and other particles floated through the air. I looked past to find the woman, only to see that she had disappeared as fast as she appeared.

I dropped her mask, looking over to Trevor's now dead body to see something I hadn't noticed before. Sitting there, stashed in his collar, was a playing card queen of hearts.

Of freaking course.

I peeked through the hole in the wall, seeing the current situation. Stellar and Sophie were battling it out, throwing each other around as everyone else avoided them.

Foxfire had subdued all of the red suit men and was currently tying all of them up. All that left was the bouncers, which hadn't done anything wrong so they were now just chilling.

And how do we get out of this one...

All right. Fake it till you make it.

"Alright, let's calm down everyone." I clapped my hands, garnering attention as I walked out of the hole and towards the rest.

Both Sophie and Stellar paused from their fight, backing up from each other. Foxfire stood next to Stellar, and most of the bouncers stayed in place except for one.

"It's him! He started this whole thing!" Cried the man from behind the bar.

In my defense if Trevor didn't decide to be useless none of this would've happened.

The one bouncer ran towards me, spurred on by his boss' words or something. I don't really know nor do I know why he thought this was even a semblance of a good idea.

He swung at me, only for me to quickly get behind him and put him in a chokehold. Except he isn't as awesome as I am to escape it, though he is struggling quite the bit.

I pulled my pistol back out, pointing it to his head and making him freeze.

"Now, if everyone calms down, no one needs to get hurt." I smiled. "Thanks for making this easy, idiot."

"You won't keep getting away with this." Stellar declared.

"Oh, but I will, my chivalrous bombshell." I smirked. I looked towards Sophie. "Come over here."

Sophie walked over, standing next to me. I leaned in to her, whispering to her while still keeping an eye on the others. "Get ready to escape. Can you carry me?"

"Yes Master." Sophie nodded. Her arm morphed into a concussive blaster as her jets in her back came out.

"Good." I grinned. "Anyways, I know that this whole chase is going to happen as soon as I let this guy go and all so let's just give you something else to focus on."

I quickly pointed the gun towards his leg, pulling the trigger and shooting him. He cried out in pain, dropping to the floor as I let him go.

"You'll want to take care of that!" I yelled as Sophie picked me up, shooting a conclusive blast through the roof and then launching into the air with the jets.

"Foxfire, take care of the injured!" I faintly heard as we quickly fled.

We flew through the sky, Stellar blasting out of the building and pursuing us. We flew across the city at incredible speeds, blazing past buildings.

"Think you can lose her?!" I asked.

We zoomed around a corner, making twists and turns through the city as Stellar closely followed. It didn't seem like we were going to be able to lose her.

"I have an idea!" I exclaimed. I quickly told Sophie, who nodded in agreement.

She shot up higher, flying towards the roof of a tall building and quickly depositing me before continuing to fly. Stellar zoomed after her, where from the roof way too high I watched them fly around at high speeds.

Sophie suddenly made an odd maneuver, putting her on course to collide with Stellar as the plan was. Surprised by the sudden change, Stellar was caught off guard and flung away into the ground.

Sophie quickly flew away, and in a few moments was back at the roof. She picked me up, before flying while carrying me again.

It seemed the one moment of Stellar getting caught off guard and losing our trail worked, as we were able to fly back to my apartment un-pursued.

We entered my apartment, where I immediately threw off my ski mask and laid onto my bed with a groan.

"Are you injured, Master?" Sophie asked.

"I'm fine." I replied. "No new injuries, thankfully."

"There is blood on your thigh." Sophie pointed out.

I looked down, seeing a dark circle of liquid at my thigh. Huh, I guess there is.

Sophie grabbed the first aid kit, sitting next to met and pulling down my pants halfway, revealing that the stitches in my leg had opened.

"Deja vu." I chuckled.

"You must be more careful Master." Sophie stated.

"Thanks for worrying, Sophie." I smiled. "You're the best partner I could ever ask for."

"...Master." Sophie quietly spoke. "What does it mean to have emotions?"

"It's...the way you feel in a non-physical way." I slowly answered. "Like, happiness can be this uplifting and warm feeling. Sadness can be this feeling of having no motivation to do anything. Something like that."

I shrugged. "You'd probably be better off searching it up. You're wondering if you have emotions, right?"

"...yes, Master." Sophie admitted.

"I'm sure you do." I assured. "You may be a robot, but you're a person. And people have feelings."

"I see..." Sophie replied as she restitched the wound. "I shall conduct research."

I nodded, and then we fell into silence. Until Sophie spoke up to ask one final question.

"Did you get your information from Trevor?" Sophie asked.

"Unfortunately, no." I groaned. "He knew the guy I'm looking for, but wouldn't say anything. And then he got killed."

Killed by the Bloodwraith.
