I yawned to myself as I sat up in bed. I stretched my hands over my head, before rubbing my eyes and opening them to see Sophie standing right by the bed. She held a plate in her hands, which she then handed to me.
I looked down to see some pancakes, syrup and bacon.
"I said you didn't need to make breakfast for me, you know." I reminded her. "I'm not enough of a breakfast person for the effort."
"It is ok, Master." Sophie replied. "I wanted to make it for you."
"Alright then." I replied, dipping a pancake into the syrup and munching on it. "This is good."
Sophie nodded. Like usual, she was clad in her maid outfit. Her dedication to wearing it is seriously something.
I quickly ate the breakfast, and then stood up, only for Sophie to grab the sleeve of my shirt. I turned to her, where she put her hand out.
I looked at it for a moment, before giving it a high five.
"No, Master." Sophie replied. She grabbed my plate from my hands, walking over to the sink and starting to clean it.
"You really don't need to..." I sighed as she continued to clean it. I really should've just done that myself, you know.
Hm, do I need to go on a shopping trip? What is my stock of food at the moment? I opened my moderate sized fridge, seeing that it was emptier than I had expected.
"Damn, how long has it been since I went to get groceries?" I scratched my head. Sophie doesn't eat at all, cause she doesn't need to, so it hasn't changed my normal food buying schedule.
Which is that I usually get like three weeks of stuff at once. I'd rather have one larger shopping trip then multiple smaller ones.
I'm the kinda guy to use one trip and carry all the bags, you get me?
"Well Sophie, guess we're going grocery shopping today." I stated.
"Understood, Master." Sophie nodded.
I quickly got ready for the day, changing into some simple black shorts and a red shirt. I walked back out of the bathroom, seeing Sophie still in her maid outfit.
"You're still in your maid outfit." I pointed out.
"I know, Master." Sophie replied. She held up some pants, before pulling them up and over the skirt of the maid outfit. She then grabbed a shirt and wore it over the main torso of the maid outfit and then stripped the white gloves, effectively hiding the outfit.
"You like the maid outfit that much...?" I sweatdropped.
"I must be ready at all times, Master." Sophie stated. "It is the proper attire for a servant. Next time an incident like yesterday happens, I shall be ready."
I'm starting to think we should get you multiple maid outfits if you're going to be wearing them this much.
"Let's leave them." I replied. "Let's see, I have my key, wallet, burner phone, switchblade, shopping list, and gun. Alright, we're good."
We exited the apartment, locking it behind us and heading towards the nearest supermarket. It was only a short walk away so it didn't take long until we were in.
"Welcome to the supermarket." I spread my arms out with a grin. "Your first time, yes?"
"Yes." Sophie affirmed. "What do you need?"
"Here's the list." I pulled out the piece of paper that was my shopping list. She took a moment to look at it, before nodding and starting to walk away.
"Wait, hold up!" I grabbed her shoulder. She turned towards me, tilting her head.
"These are my groceries, I can't just make you get everything." I replied. "Come on, let's go grab this stuff together. I'll let you acquainted with the supermarket."
Sophie stared at me in silence for a few seconds, before nodding. She lightly grabbed my shirt, holding onto it as we walked towards the carts and grabbed one. She then grabbed the cart, choosing to have the honor of cart-pusher.
I feel like a child.
Will I ever understand her...?
Probably not! Anyways!
We started going through the aisles, grabbing different groceries that I needed. We then found ourselves in the cereal aisle, where I would find my favorite cereal.
"Lucky Charms, my love." I sighed happily, holding the box in my arms.
Sophie grabbed the box, dropping it into the cart. I looked left and right in the aisle, seeing no one else here, before poking one of the cereal boxes on the shelf. The cereal box tilted over, fell, and now lay flat on the shelf.
"Hehe, cereal killer." I chuckled to myself.
"You are adorable, Master." Sophie stated.
"Thank you-" Her words registered in my mind. "Wait what?"
She was already walking away though.
I lightly jogged to catch back up with her as we turned out of the cereal aisle. Before we went into the next aisle, I paused as something caught my attention.
There was a stand with superhero plushies on it, having a plushie version of Stellar, Frostbolt, Balance, and Foxfire.
Damn, they already got merch for Foxfire.
I picked up the Stellar plushie, taking a look at it. It's actually pretty accurate to the real person. Poor Stellar, having been turned into a marketable plushie.
"What is that?" I heard Sophie ask from behind me.
I turned towards her, seeing that she was intently staring at the Stellar plush in my hand.
"Stellar plushie." I stated.
"Why?" Sophie asked, continuing to stare at the plushie. "You saved her. Now you're getting her plushie. Do you like her?"
"Eh." I shrugged. "I am getting this plushie though." I tossed it into the cart.
Her eyes followed the plushie, before she turned to look me in the eyes. "Why?"
"I'm going to give it to Gabriel." I stated. "Stellar was his favorite hero. Before the accident."
Sophie looked back at the plushie, then turned towards me again. "I understand. Who is your favorite hero?"
"I...don't really have one." I replied as we started walking once again, Sophie still pushing the cart. "I greatly respect the heroes, but they're also pretty high on my 'people I'd like to avoid list'."
"I see." Sophie nodded, before making a declaration. "I will be your favorite."
"Favorite hero?" I questioned.
I'm sorry Sophie, but I don't think you really qualify...
"No." She shook her head. "Favorite."
Favorite...what?
Don't leave me in suspense?!
I hate cliffhangers. And I know I'm not the only one, wink.
After grabbing a few more items we checked out, paying for them at the register and getting them into bags. With the both of us, getting all of the bags in one trip is child's play.
We stepped outside, where I looked at the warm sun in the clear blue sky. Damn, it's a beautiful day today. I should get out more.
A bee buzzed by, twirling through the air as it flew off to who knows where. I smiled to myself, enjoying the warmth of the moment.
"Alright, back to home we go!" I grinned.
After a short walk back to the apartment, I expertly opened the door with the key while still holding the bags, only to freeze as we entered and the door shut behind us.
There, sitting on my bed and facing the door with her legs crossed, fingers intertwined, and a smirk on her face was Mother Wasp.
My boss. Is here. In my apartment.
How in the world did you pick the lock? Did you seriously use a bee, like when those bees slipped that paper under the door?
What do you feed those things?!
"You took quite the while, my little worker wasp." Mother Wasp alluringly spoke.
"Can I place these bags down first?" I asked.
She waved her hand in what I assume was agreement. I placed the bags onto the table, then turned back towards Mother Wasp.
This is the first time a supervillain has intruded into my room. Hopefully it'll be the last, and not because I'll be dead.
"You did well on your last assignment." Mother Wasp stated. "Did you get any interesting information in your destruction?"
I'm pretty sure you already know the answer.
"We did." I nodded. I picked up a small usb from the table, something that Sophie and I had prepared in advance for when Mother Wasp would come. All of the information that Sophie got from the computer was transferred onto this.
I tossed it to her. She caught it in her hand, looking at it with her eye.
"All the information we found is on there." I stated. "I'm not sure how useful it is, but hopefully it helps, boss."
"Anything is better than nothing." She grinned. "And you are only proving me right."
"Proving you right?" I wondered.
She stood up, walking close to me and cupping my face with her cheek. She leaned down slightly, looking me in the face straight on.
"You are much more than some ordinary henchman." She smirked.
"I...what?" I muttered, confused.
"You, dearie, are my favorite." She smiled at me.
"Thank you...?" I replied.
Sophie intently stared at the two of us. I could almost feel static electricity coming from her eyes with how hard she was staring.
"How are you wounds?" She asked.
"Feeling better." I stated.
"Good." She nodded. "Once you get better, I will be enacting the next part of my plan. My debut. And you will be my main helper."
I will what?
"Expect me to come back in a week or two." She smiled, before the smile went away and I felt a chill down my spine. "One final thing, dearie."
"Yes?" I nervously asked.
"Did you take another job recently?" She spoke, the chills only increasing. "For a Shadow Raven, was it?"
She knows so much. I didn't even do anything wrong, why am I worried?
"Yes..." I slowly nodded.
"Hm." She frowned. "Don't take jobs from other supervillains. I will provide you with everything you need, dearie."
She leaned in, whispering into my ear.
"You're my henchman." She stated.
And then she kissed me on the cheek. She leaned back, smiling at me as I tried to comprehend what in the world was going on.
"That's a reward for a job well done." She smirked. "Keep doing good, my little worker wasp, and I'll keep giving you more rewards~"
She stepped back, smiling at me as she then left the apartment room. I stood there, still in shock, until finally I was taken out of it as I felt something wrap around my arm.
"Sophie...?" I questioned as her arms were now wrapped around my own.
And then she started to drag me. She sat onto my bed, laying down and bringing me with her to now where we were both laying down on my bed, staring at the ceiling.
I-
Huh?
What is happening all of the sudden?!
