I woke up, groaning as I sat upright. I turned to the side, seeing Sophie standing there in her maid outfit. I was a little worried to see her gone when I woke up in the middle of the night but it seems my worries were unwarranted as I expected.
"Breakfast is ready, Master." Sophie stated.
"I keep telling you that you don't need to make me break-" I was cut off as she handed me a bowl. I peered inside it, seeing delicious Lucky Charms.
"Sophie..." I said. "...you are the best."
"I know." Sophie stated. She turned towards the door to my room, shutting it and then locking it. "I have a request, Master."
"Yes?" I replied, putting the Lucky Charms to the side. "You don't usually have requests. How can I help, my dear automated assistant?"
Sophie walked over, sitting down on the bed next to me. She turned towards me, looking at me in the eyes for a few seconds before finally stating her request.
"I wish to partake in the act of kissing." She stated.
"Ah, of course-" I paused as the words sunk in. "What?"
"Kissing." Sophie restated.
"...why?" I questioned, staring at her face.
Yeah, still can't read her.
"I wish to understand." Sophie stated. "And it is the only way that I can please you."
"I'm sure you can please me in other ways." I countered.
"I do not contain the human feminine qualities-" Sophie started.
"Not in that way." I facepalmed. "Sophie, everything you already do is more than enough to 'please' me."
"I understand, Master." Sophie stated. She scooted closer, almost on top of me with how close she was. "However, my request has not changed."
She grabbed the back of my head with her hands, pushing our lips together. She stared into my eyes before I finally closed them, simply enjoying the moment.
We then separated, Sophie nodding with a...satisfied look?
Why did that actually feel like a real kiss? Her lips were even warm. Does she have a built in heater for that? And if so, why?
"Kissing..." Sophie spoke. "...I will remember this."
"Enjoyed it?" I smirked.
"Yes." Sophie nodded. "I may not be able to feel physical touch yet, but the act was favorable."
"Yet?" I questioned, only to receive no response.
Instead she leaned back in for another kiss. I indulged her, kissing her back. We held it for a moment, before she slowly retreated. And then, for the first time, I saw a small smile appear on her face.
It then went back to her usual blank look as she stood up and walked towards the door. "Enjoy your breakfast, Master. Let me know if you need anything."
She unlocked the door and exited the room, going somewhere else in the house. Once she leaved I sat still, my mind still catching up on what just occurred.
Well, that was certainly a way to start the morning. I started to munch on my Lucky Charms as I thought over a few things.
I just kissed...a robot. And liked it.
They should make that a song.
Stop, focus!
Yeah, so Sophie definitely likes me. I can tell that even if I can't tell what she's thinking a majority of the time. And whether she realizes it or not, she does have emotions like I thought.
...I feel like I should tell Sophie to keep that a secret.
I also need to inform her that you're supposed to close your eyes when you kiss instead of staring burning holes into your partner's face.
Cause I have a feeling that won't be the last time Sophie has that request. And I can't really give a reason to refuse...
I finished my cereal, before changing out my pajamas and into my clothes for the day. Is it just me or am I missing a shirt? I could've sworn I had a cool red shirt with a small flame decal.
Am I tripping? Did I forget to take my meds?
Oh, that's right! I don't take meds!
I grabbed the empty bowl, taking it downstairs and putting it in the kitchen sink after a quick rinse. Mother Wasp was spread across the couch, watching the television as Sophie stood behind the couch.
I leaned on the couch, staring at the television to see some animal documentary playing.
"Wanna watch with me?" Mother Wasp smirked. "You'll get the best seat~"
She opened her arms up, wanting me to lay on top of her and let her snuggle into me as she watched the documentary.
I would rather not get snuggled to death at the moment, thank you. Before I could even respond however, Sophie started climbing onto the couch.
"Hey, the offer wasn't for you!" Mother Wasp jumped to her feet with a glare.
Sophie just stared at her. "Hm."
"Something you want to say, you bucket of bolts?" Mother Wasp questioned.
"I'm winning." She stated.
"What?" Mother Wasp stared at her in confusion.
Sophie simply sat back down on the now empty couch, staring at the television. Mother Wasp groaned, sitting down on the opposite side before swinging her legs over and placing them onto Sophie's lap.
"Still a spot available, dearie~" Mother Wasp smiled.
"I'll hold off for now." I replied.
"You never let me pamper you." Mother Wasp pouted.
Cute. Never thought I'd think that about the alluring Mother Wasp, since her realm seemed to be seductive beauty, but I mean what I think and I think what I mean.
Also, I still find it odd to be treated like a child by her. I can't tell if you're trying to be my sugar mom or just my mom.
My current burner phone vibrated in my pocket. I brought it out, seeing a number I didn't know. I answered the call, listening intently.
"Your order is done." A somewhat familiar voice stated.
"Is that you, Trey?" I questioned. "You didn't get caught?"
"No, but I lost a lot of stock." He grumpily replied. "Bring the rest of the payment and meet me at the warehouse on Trigin Street at ten."
Trigin Street? That's on the other damn side of the city.
"Sounds good." I replied. "See you then."
He hung up as I placed the phone back into my pocket. You want me to go all the way across the city to pick up my dang grappling hook? And once it's gotten dark too?
I don't like the sound of that. But that is how a lot of illegal deals are carried out. Well, better be cautious. With my luck I'll run into another superhero.
"Sophie, it's time to pick up the grapple gun." I stated. "I'll arrive by myself, but I want you to keep watch from above."
Just in case. You should never fully trust a criminal. I would know, I am one.
How far you've fallen.
What would he say if he could see you now?
He would tell you to shut the fuck up, that's what.
One of these days I'm throwing hands, inner demons!
"Understood, Master." Sophie nodded.
"Hey, I wanna help." Mother Wasp leaned on the couch, smirking at me. "Can't I tag along with you? Sophie should take a break. We can go there together. All alone~"
Your intentions are oozing out of you so clearly.
"If we do that I don't think you'll let me get there on time." I sweatdropped.
Being alone with this lady is not a good idea. Who knows what she'll do if Sophie isn't around to get in her way.
"So this is what you meant..." Mother Wasp turned towards Sophie with a glare. Sophie stuck her tongue out in response, though it looked a little silly since she kept the same neutral expression while doing it.
"But you know, it'd be very helpful if you looked around through a bee and alerted us of any danger." I nervously chuckled.
If it wasn't for me these two would've tried to kill each other by now.
"I knew you cared~!" She lunged forwards, grabbing me and shoving me into her chest. I didn't resist this time, having properly learned that it never helped.
"Remove yourself from Master at once." Sophie demanded as she tried to pull us apart.
Hours later, but an hour before the meeting time, I started on my long trek towards the warehouse we were meeting at. It was dark out, the moon bright in the sky. I've always loved the night, though I don't go out in it often anymore.
Usually only when it's a job, so it's nice to be taking a relaxing walk this time. Even if I am technically on the job. After all, I do have my equipment with me plus a small bookbag to stash the grappling gun in. Accompanied by the moon, the maid next to me, and the bee buzzing around us.
Luckily, said maid was currently hiding her maid outfit under regular clothing. Otherwise she would've been an immediate target for any hero happen to be passing by.
But a man and a woman taking a walk isn't that strange. Especially when the woman is acting as your lover and hanging into your arm, much to the annoyance of the bee which angrily flew around us.
She would've stung Sophie by now if she wasn't a robot.
As we finally neared our destination, after making sure no one was around Sophie took to the skies, silently landing on the roof of the warehouse.
I first looked around the warehouse, not seeing Trey hanging outside. Was he inside? I approached the door of the warehouse, trying to open it to see that it was in fact unlocked. I opened the door to an incredibly dark room as Mother Wasp's bee followed me inside.
"Hey." A voice startled me.
I looked to the side, seeing Trey standing there in the dark. He held up the grapple gun. I pulled out the money, giving it to him before grabbing the grapple gun. I grinned to myself, taking off my backpack and putting it in.
"Pleasure doing business with you." He stated, walking into the oppressing darkness.
"The hell are you going, the shadow realm?" I questioned.
And then suddenly the lights turned on, revealing three sleek black cars and a bunch of men in black suits aiming guns straight at me. I slowly put my hands up as I gave an unimpressed stare at Trey.
"Seriously?" I sighed. "You've just lost a customer."
"Sorry, but three hundred thousand is three hundred thousand." He shrugged. "And I need to replace stock after that loss."
Wait...
300,000?
OH FUCK-?!
"Will~!" A familiar voice I hadn't heard in a while sung as one of the car doors opened. Standing out of the car door was a woman I hadn't seen in a good many months.
She wore a black suit with gray stripes, matching dress pants, a white undershirt, and a striking blue tie. Her short black hair was tied into a small ponytail on the back of her head that didn't even reach her neck. And atop her head was a clean fedora, the same look which I remembered from last time.
The bee buzzed as it zoomed under the door and outside, no doubt immediately heading to Sophie to alert her.
"Hey there Alexis..." I nervously chuckled. "Long time no see?"
Alexis chuckled, before suddenly I felt something grip me by the hem of my shirt. I peered down, frowning at the translucent white hand which held me up. I struggled, smacking the hand and moving my body only for it do nothing.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck-
Alexis quickly skipped over to me in her sleek black dress shoes, her arms behind her back as she looked at me.
"I've missed you so much Will..." She grinned as I was held by the hem of my shirt, staring into my eyes with those same old crazy eyes. "...or should I say, Jason?"
Shit.
It's Alexis fuckin' Cromwell.
