The four looked at me with a silent anticipation. I scratched my head, trying to think about how I even started my story.
"I'm not..." I slowly spoke. "...exactly who you think I am. I'm not really Jason James."
"Oh, that's another alias?" Alexis wondered.
"No." I shook my head. "If that name doesn't count, then I don't really have a real name. That name was...gifted to me."
I fiddled with my thumbs, trying to figure out how to word things. "By the real Jason James. The real brother of Gabriel. But he's also known as..."
I took a deep breath. "...Miracle."
"That Miracle?" Aurelia questioned. "The second Rallying Hero? The one that went missing a year ago?"
"Yes." I nodded. "He was captured and brought to a scientist known as Vincent Vandercourt. Who performed an experiment on him..."
I took a deep breath, adjusting myself as I squirmed in my seat. "I'm not a human. At least, not in the traditional sense."
They looked at me, confusion displayed across their eyes. Sophie tilted her head to the side, not fully understanding quite yet.
"I'm a clone." I revealed. "Miracle's clone. Created by that damn Vincent."
A long silence held over as they all stared at me. I nervously sat there, waiting for someone to say something.
This is really awkward, someone please say something.
"So you were created..." Sophie finally spoke. "...like me."
Sophie took a step forwards, extending her hand out. I looked at it, before grabbing it. She yanked me up and pulled me into a hug, holding me tightly against her.
No seriously, I think she's gonna break a rib.
"In gonna die!" I croaked out.
Sophie let go of me, releasing me from a fate of being squeezed to death. Aurelia walked over, placing a hand on my arm.
"Miracle..." She whispered. "...he's gone, isn't he?"
"I buried him myself." I quietly spoke.
"So this is what has been haunting you all this time." Aurelia frowned. She pulled me into her, petting my hair in comfort.
"Was Vincent that man I found you with?" Eleanor asked.
"Yeah." I replied. "Though I didn't realize he also had a freaking S-Genome."
"Great~!" She clapped her hands together. "His face has been memorized! I can't wait to fucking tear it off."
"Also?" Alexis noted.
"I have the same DNA as Miracle." I replied. "And he has an S-Genome. But mine never worked, so I was deemed a failure."
Sophie's hand tightened on my clothes.
"Until now." I replied. "He injected me with something, and it hurt like hell. But hey, I have a power now!"
"Oh, it was so amazing~" Eleanor sighed softly. "His leg glowed a bright white as he unleashed a powerful kick."
"Some variant of super strength." Alexis hummed to herself. "I'll help you test it, my beloved."
"Thanks Alexis." I smiled.
"Curiously, dearie..." Aurelia wrapped her arms around me from behind as she rested her head in the crook of my neck. "...does this have anything to do with you saving Stellar all the way back then?"
Oh right, at the beginning of the story.
"Sort of?" I replied. "I didn't inherit any of Miracle's memories, so I only heard this from him. But in the past Stellar saved Gabriel and became his favorite superhero. It's also why I got him that Stellar plush that sits next to his bed."
Eleanor yanked Aurelia off of me, jumping onto my back and tightly hugging me from behind. She pecked at my neck with little kisses, humming in my ear.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you, love." She whispered. "I will take care of every single one who dared harm you."
"Stop that." Alexis' spectral hand grabbed Eleanor by the back of her outfit and tossed her off of me and onto the couch. Alexis strolled forwards, cupping my face in her hands.
"Thank you, my beloved, for telling me." Alexis smiled. "It does not change how I see you at all. You are Jason."
"Thanks Alexis." I smiled back.
She then leaned in, overtaking my lips with hers. She wrapped her arms around the back of my head, gripping my hair as she pushed me deeper into the kiss. Eleanor started to try to pry her off, only for her to wrap her legs around my as well and refuse to let go of the kiss.
"Stop smooching him!" Eleanor growled. "Damn homewrecker!"
"Says you." Aurelia butted in, helping to pull Alexis off and to save me from suffocation. "Mommy hasn't gotten her smooches yet either."
Please, of all ways, why do you have to phrase it that way?
I tried to inch away, only for Aurelia to pull me in and slam her lips against mine. She held me there, savoring my taste while Eleanor and Alexis wrestled in the background.
Aurelia pulled away, licking her lips in satisfaction. "Consider that another reward, dearie."
I felt an oppressive gaze from behind me, a cold sweat rolling down the back of my neck. Just when I was thinking that Sophie had been acting strangely quiet.
"Why do you not resist, Master?" Sophie got close to me, staring into my eyes with an empty gaze. "Do you enjoy theirs more than mine?"
"Of course he does." Aurelia smirked at Sophie, wrapping her arms around me from behind once again. "And we both know why."
Sparks flew inbetween Sophie and Aurelia as they glared at each other. Sophie took a step forwards and I realized I really needed to escape.
"Go to your room, Master." Sophie ordered. "Us women need to have a talk."
"Surely this can be solved peacefully-" I nervously grinned.
"No." Both Aurelia and Sophie said at once.
"Right..." I sweatdropped, slinking my way out of Aurelia's hold as the two continued their deathly staring contest. "...don't destroy the house, please."
I quickly turned tail and scampered up the stairs as the sound of conflict resonated below. I entered my room, leaning on the door as I sighed to myself.
And then I started to chuckle. And I couldn't stop it as it continued from a chuckle to a full on laugh. Those girls...
Being a clone didn't change how they saw me at all. Let alone being the clone of a hero. No, to them I'm just Jason.
And I can't help but feel warm about that.
I have something more to live for than simply foolish hope and bitter revenge now.
I quickly exited my room, avoided looking down at the chaos downstairs, and entered the bathroom. I stared at myself in the mirror as I held a knife I grabbed from my room.
I took a deep breath, before stabbing it into my side. I grit my teeth, blood dripping from the blade as I pulled it out. The crimson liquid spilled from my side, dripping down.
And then I saw as the wound started to close itself. The blood stopped flowing out, leaving only drying blood remaining on top of my side that didn't show any damage at all.
It was if I never even stabbed myself.
I fully pulled off my shirt, examining my chest. Not a single scar from the countless times he stabbed me in the chest. I should've been dead.
But I'm not.
This must be my other power. Miracle had a double-powered S-Genome, so by assumption of mine was awakened I would have two powers as well.
That weird glowing thing plus this regeneration.
I'm no scientist, but I think my S-Genome was always different from Miracle's, despite being an almost carbon copy clone. After all, I know I'm only mostly like him. My eyes aren't green like his, instead for some reason being red.
Like, that's not even a natural eye color.
I assume that the glowing super strength thingy is the result of mixing Stellar's blood. But the regeneration? That isn't similar to Stellar's at all.
But regeneration? I can't see how that's similar to Miracle's powers, so I guess that was just my lucky draw!
Lucky, huh?
Sometimes I wonder if you're watching over me from past the dead, Miracle.
I doubt you'd be proud of who I am. I do crime for a living, the complete opposite of what you stood for.
But I promised you. I will take care of Gabriel. For as long as I can, and hopefully, one day he can wake up again. It may be a foolish hope, but I believe in miracles.
After all, you were one.
And I made another promise to myself. That I would make Vincent pay. That I would avenge your death. And now I have even more reason to do so.
It's time I get serious. No more being just a grunt. No more being just a henchman. No more being out of my league.
The world wants me to be a villain?
Stellar wants me to be her archnemesis?
Then I fucking will. Until both of my goals are accomplished, along with my new third.
Protecting them.
I'd say it's about time I make a proper villain debut. No more "Ski Mask".
Watch out, Champion City. Watch out Killian. Watch out Vincent.
I watched as a manic grin spread on my face.
Cause I'm the fucking Jason James.
