(Bloodwraith POV)

Everyone is just so boring.

Ever since I discovered the outside world, I realized just how boring everyone truly was. That's why I eventually migrated to Champion City, the hottest city for superheroes and supervillains alike.

But they weren't that much interesting either.

So boring~!

So disappointing~!

For oh so long I had wished to discover this outside world, only to find it full of people who could not keep up. I could follow a famed hero for days and they'd never notice me if I took it seriously.

Where is your drive to survive?

Where are your natural instincts?

Where is your struggle to live?

I know they're there.

I'VE EXPERIENCED THEM MYSELF.

Oops, got a little intense there, haha~!

It was easy to become the most famed assassin and hitman.

Too easy.

Not a single person was a challenge.

Not a single one escaped ME.

Ironic, in a way. That no one can escape the escaped. It makes me laugh.

It took them hours before they realized someone was sitting in the same room with them. They couldn't even realize their life was gone before it disappeared.

So I decided if no one was going to be a challenge, I'd challenge myself~!

But again, too easy.

I could kill each and every one of them even when purposely alerting them to my presence.

Pathetic.

How hard is it to find someone strong?

You would think it'd be the heroes, but no~

I know where Stellar lives. I know she lives with her mother. I know her father died long ago. I know a lot more things about her.

The hero never noticed me.

I SPARED HER.

So what about villains?

Shadow Raven never noticed me either when I stalked her for a straight week~!

I SPARED HER TOO.

Was there a point to spilling blood when it was becoming boring? That gorgeous, crimson liquid was starting to lose its luster in my eyes.

I needed an equal.

And then, he appeared~!

I know it may have been luck that he escaped me the first time. If that person hadn't bursted through the wall he'd might've been another lost soul within my list.

But he survived.

And suddenly I found something interesting~!

Oh Jason, how would I ever live without you?

It is thanks to you that I am once again enjoying life. It is thanks to you that I have finally found what I've been wishing for! You're the only one to survive me. The only one to notice me. The only one FOR ME.

Oh, Jason~!

Hahahahaha...HAHAHAHAHA!

You're mine! All mine!

Haha...

Hah...

...

...

...

And yet, I am not acting as myself.

Shutting myself in my room like someone that's afraid. Please, what does the Bloodwraith have to fear? The assassin who could murder anyone if they truly wanted to?

To be so shaken up isn't like you, Eleanor.

Get it together, Eleanor.

Don't be a f̵̝̱̰̙̋á̸̧͂͛̈́ĭ̵͓̻̱̈́̉͛ļ̴̡̒ͅù̵͙̠͍̯̄̀͝r̷̗̽è̷̞͓̞̔͋, Eleanor.

SHUT UP!!!!!!!

Don't remember those accursed words.

I sat on the rooftop, having finally exited my room. And from here I stared at the starry sky, a beautiful sight which sparked memories I could never forget.

Before the blood, before the boredom...

This was the sight that made me want to explore the outside world.

To shed my skin and fly~!

Heh.

What a terrible joke.

I watched as Sophie jumped out of the window, carrying Jason away. Any other time I would've immediately pursued them...

But I couldn't.

There was something else I had to do.

Someone who I finally need to KILL.

I had been content with running away. But with Jason by my side? Oh no, no no no no no no no!

I would never want to bring harm to my dear Jason, however tasty his blood may be. Let alone someone as vile as him.

No, it's time I finally stop running.

If I don't stop, then I can never have my perfect fantasy with Jason! I would never have the moment of my dreams, the one I fantasize so often about.

He'd be wearing a dashing suit, one of the finest quality for the most majestic man. And I would be standing across from him, a veil over my face, with a beautiful, gorgeous white dress stained red with whoever gets in my way.

He'd lift the veil, look into my eyes, and then,..

HE'S ALL MINE.

Time to care of loose ends~!

I jumped across the rooftops, heading to where I knew my target would be. While shutting myself away I hadn't been doing nothing, you know?

Oh, I can't wait to finally rid this disgusting stain of my past~!

He's gonna be dead, dead, dead~!

I continued making my away across the rooftops under the starry night sky, getting closer and closer to my destination.

Until I saw a moving shadow to my side.

I rolled out of the way as Nightshade launched himself from the shadows, making it past him. I quickly sprung to my feet and extended my umbrella, holding it above me.

"As perceptive as ever, sister." Nightshade stated.

"And you're as slow as ever." I grinned. "Why don't you hurry up and scurry along before I do something you'll regret."

"I can't do that." He replied. "Not when you can earn me freedom."

Shadows crawled down his arms, turning into two pure black claws. He dashed at me, swinging his claw and missing as I sidestepped. I swung my umbrella upwards, only for it to be caught by his other claw.

I quickly jabbed him in the nose, making him release my umbrella. With a twirl I swung it to cleave off his head in one swipe, but unfortunately I missed as he backed up.

I guess you are a little stronger nowadays~!

He crouched down, placing his hands against the ground. "I'm sorry about this, sister. I really am."

Before I could make sense of what he meant shadow tendrils shot out from the ground. I quickly maneuvered my way around them, slicing them up with my umbrella.

Too easy~!

I must say brother, I am a little impressed. Keeping me occupied so I can't disappear in your view, hm?

And then suddenly I was tackled from behind. My face hit the roof as my umbrella clattered to the side. The person held my hands behind my back, keeping me down.

So this was your plan!

"Good work, Bladewing." My brother replied, standing up and cracking his neck. "Now-"

I glanced behind me, getting a look at Bladewing and his body position, seeing that he was kneeling down to hold me in place. With a grunt I swung my legs upwards, stretching my body to its limits to wrap my legs around his chest.

With a sudden shift in my weight I threw him onto the ground head first and rolled off of him. Nightshade was already lunging for me, his claw outstretched.

I started to dodge, only for his claw to suddenly stretch out and elongate. It wrapped around my neck, holding me up in the air.

"You've actually improved, brother!" I crookedly grinned at him while my mind worked to find a solution.

If only there was some shed blood, this would be over lickety-split~!

Well, I'll just-

Something was stabbed into my neck from behind. I gripped it, kicking away Bladewing and pulling out the syringe. With incredible precision I sliced through the physical shadow with the syringe, releasing me from its hold.

I clattered to the ground, rolling and jumping to my feet.

What did they-?!

"Now you've done it, brother." I darkly chuckled, chucking the syringe.

It whizzed past his head, his eyes trailing after it. Perfect. I quickly grabbed my umbrella and moved away from where I just was. Now that I'm invisible to him, I can finally end this and get back on track~!

But his eyes immediately darted to where I was, following me perfectly.

Ignorance didn't work.

"What did you DO...?" I glared.

"You've always relied too much on your power, sister." Nightshade replied. "Now you're coming with me."

And then everything clicked.

"You're working with him." I hissed.

He didn't answer, a guilty shine in his eyes.

"Bladewing. It's time." He spoke.

He glanced to the side, pausing.

Bladewing was on the ground, blood seeping from his body. The crimson liquid slowly formed a puddle around his fallen body, and standing above him was a lone figure.

She looked like a ninja, wearing all black with gloves, a hood, and a mask that covered the lower half of her face. A black sheathe rested on her left hip, and in her hand was a shining katana drenched red.

I stabbed my umbrella towards Nightshade, only for him to dodge and smack it away. In an instant the ninja was upon us, thrusting her sword towards his face.

Once again he barely dodged, the ninja and I now working in unison to attack Nightshade. We both took opposite sides, attacking at the same time and increasing the pressure.

While he dodged or deflected most of the blows with his shadows, he was starting to sustain more and more damage. In a moment, he would regret ever THINKING to-!

And then he suddenly melted into the shadows. The ninja and I dodged each other and started to quickly look around.

Doesn't seem like the COWARD is going to return!

I grumbled to myself, looking down at my hands. This isn't good. Whatever he just did, my power didn't activate like it usually would've. And if that didn't work, then neither would-

"You're Bloodwraith, aren't you?" The ninja stated, sheathing her bloodied blade.

I turned, looking into her eyes.

"Oh my, you've caught me." I smirked, leaning on my umbrella. "Whatever will I do...?"

"I'm not here to fight you. He's been working to capture you." The ninja stated. "You got injected with the serum, didn't you? It's a temporary power suppressor."

That BASTARD!

"And why are you helping me?" I questioned.

"Because you're working with Checkmate." The ninja answered. "And I will not let them harm him to get to you."

Checkmate...?

JASON?!

"What is your connection to Checkmate?" I glared, pointing my umbrella at her.

"What is your connection to Checkmate?" She hissed back.

"He's my lover~" I smirked.

"Sure he is." The ninja scoffed.

"Excuse you?!" I exclaimed.

"He's my love." The ninja stated, walking past me and towards the fallen body. "He's going to be mine. No. Matter. What."

She ripped off one of her gloves with her mouth, gripping the head of the man with her bare hand. And instantly, he ignited into azure flames.

Familiar azure flames.

"You're Foxfire." I realized.

"Surprise." She replied, watching as the man was burned to ashes.

I walked over to her, standing next to her as we watched the burning body of that random man. Those azure flames, burning away in the night...

How beautiful.

"Let's make a deal, Bloodwraith." Foxfire stated.

"Oh?" I raised an eyebrow. "And what do you suggest?"

"An alliance." Foxfire suggested. "You tell me everything you know. I tell you everything we know. Then we finish this. For our one love."

She held her hand out.

"How interesting..." I chuckled.

Would I have usually taken this deal?

Not in the past. But after living with Jason and the others, combined with this recent complication in the loss of my powers...

"Fine." I grinned, gripping her hand and shaking it. "We have a deal."

"Perfect." Her intense blue eyes stared into mine, an azure flame reflected within them.

Surprisingly, I think we'll get along swimmingly~!

And if not?

It's simple!

SHE DIES.
