Man, it's been a while, huh?
Last time that y'all got to see my thoughts was all the way back in issue #51, wasn't it? Feels like it's been forever!
Oh, right, right, don't break the wall. My bad, my bad. Here, take this flex tape and we can pretend nothing happened.
Moving on~!
Eleanor successfully escaped her father, and now everyone lives happily ever after! Yaaaaaaaaaay!
If only I didn't have to deal with these two bickering girls that are so attached to my arms at the moment that they might as well be damn koalas.
"This was my date, Eleanor." Hikari hissed, holding tightly onto my left arm as she glared at the gothic girl.
"But it's been much too long since I've had such close contact with my beloved." Eleanor happily sighed, leaning against me as she tightly held onto my right arm. "I just couldn't wait any longer!"
"It was only a few days." Hikari growled.
"A few days too many~!" Eleanor grinned in a sing-song voice.
Maybe I should backtrack a little and explain how we got to this point.
In order to help out Eleanor, I stopped the fight between Hikari and Nightshade that occurred after Nightshade took Eleanor to their father. With my suave speech skills I was able to convince both of them to make a deal with me.
My deal with Nightshade was that if he helped with the plan, his father would be killed and he would be free.
The deal with "Kasai" is that I would go on a date with her. I was kind of surprised she just went out and made that as the terms instead of pretending to not be Hikari.
But we both knew it was her. I have no clue when this whole "Kasai" thing started though! That's news to me!
Recap over, that's how we got to this point of time. And as wonderful as it is to have two girls hanging off of my arms, with these sparks flying between their eyes it's only a matter of time until I become collateral.
"Girls, girls, let's calm down for a moment." I nervously chuckled. "Surely we can all enjoy a fun time together?"
"I'm not sure if that's going to be possible, Jason." Hikari frowned. "It seems I'll have to teach Eleanor here a lesson."
"Please, as if you could do that." Eleanor smirked. "Might as well just give up if you're trying to go against me."
"You're asking for it." Hikari grit her teeth, her arms tightening around my own as if she was trying to strangle it.
No, my blood flow, I can feel it leaving me...!
No wait, even worse than that, I can feel people eyeing me as they walk by. I can feel their judgmental gazes burning into my soul!
I swear, I'm not a playboy! It's not what it looks like! They're only super obsessed with me!
Wait a second, that doesn't make it any better.
Super obsessed to where they'd do anything for me...? No, that's still not helping my case.
Gasp. Wait a minute.
Am I a playboy?!
Oh well.
We continued walking down the sidewalk, attracting plenty of gazes as the two girls continued to tightly hold onto my arms and argue with each other.
As we passed by one of those television shops I found myself stopping and staring at the news that was currently playing on the screen.
"In amazing news, the superhero known as Siren, one of the Champions, has returned to superhero work." The announcer spoke, a picture of the aforementioned hero on the screen. "An official reason for her return has yet to been stated, but we are glad to see her back."
"Siren, hm...?" I muttered to myself.
That was Miracle's mentor. I still remember his face when he would talk about her. He truly loved her like his mother.
It's good to see she's doing well, then.
"Jason..." Hikari darkly muttered, continuing to somehow squeeze my arm even tighter. If my arm was a balloon it would've popped long ago!
"What's with that look...?" I nervously smiled, looking into Hikari's dangerous eyes.
And then I felt a shiver run down my spine, as if someone had just wished a thousand curses upon me. I slowly turned to look at my other companion, seeing Eleanor with a cold and intense look.
"You're not allowed to think about other women in our presence, Jason~!" Despite her cheerful tone her gaze told something completely different.
"I think someone needs to be taught a lesson, Eleanor." Hikari spoke.
"I agree." Eleanor chuckled. "I'd like to know what our dear Jason thinks about this Siren person? And why haven't we heard of her?"
"L-look ladies, it's not like that..." I nervously chuckled.
Man now I really do sound like a two-timing bastard! Stop with those cold glares, random passerby's! Please, you're hurting my pure and innocent soul!
Hikari went to open her mouth only to be cut off as another voice resonated from behind us, holding a tone that was equally confused as hesitant.
"Hikari..?" The voice spoke.
"Sarah?" Hikari replied, turning around to look at her.
"What-" This new girl's words died off as I turned to look at her. She had blonde hair tied into a bun with thick, round glasses on her face. She was slightly hunched over and there were bags under her eyes.
And as soon as her eyes connected with mine her breath hitched, any words she was about to speak now lost from her mouth. And in her eyes, I saw the thing I feared the most.
A spark of recognition.
"Jason...?" She gasped.
Shit! Who is this?! Think Jason, think! Who did Miracle tell you about that this could possibly be?
"You know Jason?" Hikari narrowed her eyes, glancing between the two of us.
"You better start explaining quickly, Jason~" Eleanor cheerfully spoke once more as her nails prodded at my skin.
"Ah, sorry, do I know you?" I replied, hoping that I could think she got the wrong guy or something. Honestly, I don't really know how to explain my way out of this one.
Basically, I'm fucked. I gotta escape
"You...you don't remember me?" The girl known as Sarah muttered with widened, anguished eyes.
She does seem familiar in a way, but I still have no idea what her connection to Jason is. Well, she's probably just a random friend of his!
I mean, come on, I've been pretty lucky to barely run into people that Jason knew the past year, this was bound to happen eventually!
"I, uh, actually have amnesia." I stated. "I don't remember anything past a year ago."
That's mostly the truth!
Her eyes seemed to widen. "A year?"
Why do I feel like I've just made this worse...?
"We need to talk. Alone." Her eyes hardened as she stared at me with a strikingly familiar set of determined eyes. Not to mention that voice-
Oh shit.
You're fucking kidding me. You're joking, right? Right?!
It clicked in my brain as I continued to stare at her, the image of another woman appearing into my mind.
It's her. The Hero of Hope.
Fucking Stellar.
And of course Miracle knew her, they were both two of the most famous currently working heroes within Champion City!
And judging on her reactions, she knew Miracle's true identity as Jason James.
But I'm not Miracle. No, even worse, I've become Stellar's damn archnemesis.
This is an absolute disaster waiting to happen. I need to get out of here NOW.
"Why do you want to talk to Jason alone?" Hikari stepped in front of me, staring into Sarah's eyes.
"This is important, Hikari." Sarah replied. "I'll explain afterwards."
"If you can't explain now then clearly it's not important enough." Hikari replied. "You don't know how hard I worked for this date."
"It's TOO important to explain right here!" Sarah argued.
"Please back off." Eleanor smiled, giving off an aura that wasn't as polite as her words. "He's mine."
"Who even is this?!" Sarah exclaimed, pointing a finger at Eleanor.
"Someone who you shouldn't cross~" Eleanor hummed.
"You want to test that?" Sarah glared.
"Back off, Sarah." Hikari warned.
"You don't understand." Sarah hissed. "He's-!"
"Come on, let's all just take a moment to take a deep breath and calm down." I quickly interfered. I still have yet to tell Hikari about...well, my past. I don't want Stellar here to be possibly revealing anything considering she thinks I'm Miracle!
"You know, don't you?" Sarah's eyes focused on me. "Don't try to fool me, Jason. Where have you been? Why did you leave?"
"Jason..?" Hikari glared up at me.
"Oh my, I'm feeling murderous." Eleanor smiled a bloodthirsty grin.
"Look Stellie, I don't know what you're-"
And I realized the mistake too late.
Fuck me and my stupid mouth.
"What did you just say...?" Sarah's eyes bore into my own.
And I had no idea what she was thinking.
