Stellar stared burning holes into me, a psychotic grin across her face. Her suit which was usually one which represented a shining hope was now splattered with the crimson blood of a third-rate villain she had just murdered.
Stellar took a step forwards, causing an audible gulp to escape from my mouth. What the actual fuck is happening?!
"Stellar, let's take a moment to clam down..." I tried in vain to placate her once more, knowing it was unlikely that it would work.
Stellar didn't even respond as she blasted towards me at extreme speeds. I quickly dodged out of the way, barely avoiding her hand as she attempted to grab me.
She sharply maneuvered mid-air, twisting back and approaching me once again. My hand started to glow as I charged it up, rolling to the side and avoiding her once more.
Her foot slammed into the ground next to me as she spun her body around and sent a kick straight to my stomach. I caught her foot with my intensified hand, stopping it from connecting with my body.
She paused, looking at me surprised as I caught her blow. She clearly wasn't going at full power in order to not injure me too badly, but even then she was stronger than anyone else in pure strength even when holding back.
And she doesn't know about my powers.
"Stellar, listen to me!" I yelled. "I'm not-!"
She jumped up, bringing her other foot off of the ground. In an instant her flight kicked in as she twisted in the air, almost kicking me in the face with her other foot. I let go of her leg in order to dodge the foot, backing up as Stellar was now floating in front of me.
"Save it." She ordered with a domineering voice.
She swung her fist forwards once more, following up with a flurry of strikes I barely proceeded to dodge. But Stellar was much more versed in hand to hand combat than I was, not to mention I was completely unprepared.
So it wasn't a surprise when I couldn't dodge her kick. What I wasn't ready for was when her leg connected with mine for an audible snap to fill the air as pain flooded my body.
"Shit!" I cried out, collapsing to the ground. I grit my teeth, glancing at my leg only to see it bent in a direction it shouldn't have been.
She was holding back less than I thought.
Stellar stared down at me, reaching down to pick me up only to get interrupted just in time.
"Stellar!" Another, familiar voice screamed.
Stellar slowly turned around, seeing one person standing in the distance. Hikari was in her "Kasai" outfit, wearing her black pants, hoodie, gloves, and lower face mask with her katana on her side.
"So you've finally arrived..." Stellar replied. "...thief." She stared at Kasai with cold eyes, getting an equally frigid look in return.
"Step away from him." Kasai ordered.
Stellar didn't respond, continuing to stare Kasai in the eyes. And then she shot through the air, instantly upon the makeshift ninja.
I looked back at my leg, wincing as I looked at how bent it was. With a deep breath I grit my teeth and grabbed my leg, moving it back into the right position while wracked with agonizing pain.
At least it's not getting repeatedly stabbed! Fuck, this hurts!
My leg was damp, blood seeping through my clothes. You know, I'm becoming very thankful I have a regeneration ability, because I don't want to pull this pants leg up and find out what my leg looks like.
I looked back at the fight, praying that the regeneration would fix my leg up quickly enough to help them.
Kasai dodged as Stellar's fist slammed into the ground, creating a whole crater in the ground. Kasai unsheathed her sword, circling around Stellar for the upper hand.
Stellar dashed at Kasai once more, sending a few punches only for each to be dodged. Behind Stellar suddenly appeared Bloodwraith with her umbrella, thrusting it towards Stellar's neck from behind.
Only for Stellar to swing her fist backwards, sending the umbrella flying up into the sky. Kasai took the opportunity to swing her sword towards Stellar, only for the Hero of Hope to bring her other hand up and catch the katana.
Bloodwraith had disappeared once again thanks to her disposition, likely taking her fallen umbrella with her considering I couldn't see it anymore.
Stellar clenched her fist, shattering Kasai's katana. It fell in pieces to the ground as Kasai backed up, Stellar following with calm footsteps.
Bloodwraith suddenly appeared inbetween the two as she brought attention to herself, taking up Stellar's sight. She swung the tip of her umbrella towards Stellar's eyes only for the hero to slightly tip her head back and dodge the attack.
Before Bloodwraith could do anything further she was swatted in the side by Stellar, sending her flying towards me at high speeds. She crashed into the wall and then through it with a pained cry.
"Fuck!" I cursed, looking back at Stellar and Kasai. I smacked my leg, and while it still was hurt, it's been mostly healed now. I staggered to my feet on wobbly legs, holding onto the wall.
As hundreds of different options rang through my mind, they were all silenced as someone slammed into the ground from the sky, blocking Stellar from Kasai once more.
Fuck yes, Sophie!
Sophie, clad in her maid outfit, stood inbetween Kasai and Stellar. She glanced towards me, giving me a nod, before looking back at Stellar.
Kasai ripped off one of her gloves with her mouth, walking next to Sophie so that they were now standing side by side against Stellar.
I quickly hobbled my way through the broken wall as chaos ensued over there, approaching the downed Bloodwraith. She laid there, groaning, rubble over her and blood dripping down her face.
"Shit, Eleanor!" I muttered to myself as I crouched down next to her, shoving the rubble off of her. Her skin was bleeding from multiple places, and her arm was most definitely not supposed to face that way.
She looked up at me through a pained squint, before chuckling. "And here I fully thought I could kill her if I got the jump on her..."
"Don't strike from the front next time." I replied. "Where are your injuries?"
"I had to protect my friend..." Bloodwraith smirked. "...go, I'll be fine. I've survived WORSE, love."
"You just got bitch slapped by the strongest damn person in this city, Eleanor." I replied, applying pressure to a gash on her side. "Damn it, I need something to cover this..."
Eleanor lurched upwards, biting onto my neck roughly. "Ow!" I complained as Bloodwraith licked her lips, blood from my neck going into her system.
"I'm THE strongest assassin out there, babe." Eleanor winked. "Give me a-wait, hold on, I want some more~!"
The upper half of her body jumped up once more as her teeth latched onto my neck. Her unbroken arm grasped at my shirt with a surprising amount of strength as she continued to suck blood from my neck.
Seriously, how the hell are you NOT a vampire?!
She separated from my neck, looking at me with a dreamy look on her face. Her lips suddenly smashed into mine as the back of her hand grabbed my head and pushed it further into the kiss.
After a few seconds she finally separated, a hungry and vicious gaze on her face as she licked her lips once again.
"I can never get enough of you, love~" She hummed. "You make me feel so much...better?"
A confused look suddenly crossed her face. She looked down at herself, touching her side with her unbroken arm. The gash in her side was completely healed.
"Well that's new." She commented. She looked at her unbroken arm, seeing as it started to readjust itself and heal back up.
I stared at the sight with widened eyes.
Hold on a second, I thought I had a regeneration factor. You know, like the guy in red spandex that I'm totally not a rip off of, or the guy with the shiny claws. Or the countless others-
You get the point!
But she's healing. Could it be my blood has healing properties that can be transferred to others? Or could it be my saliva? That's the only thing that makes sense, cause that healing can't be Bloodwraith's power.
"I'm going to go help the others." I told her. "Don't start acting crazy until that's fully healed."
"Babe, I'm always CRAZY." She grinned.
I dashed through the broken wall and back into the street, watching as Sophie was thrown across my vision. She readjusted herself mid-air, landing on her feet and sliding backwards with sparks flying through the air.
Kasai was wielding the broken half of her katana which was currently doused in blue flames. She swung at Stellar multiple times, only for the hero to dodge each and every strike.
Kasai slammed the broken sword into the ground, sending a wave of blue flames flowing towards Stellar. She flew above them, staring down at us from the sky.
Sophie crashed into Stellar, sending the two of them flying into a nearby building a couple floors above us. The sounds of fighting echoed through the building before Sophie was thrown out of it, crashing into the buildings on the other side.
Sophie's hand morphed into a the shape of a laser gun, releasing a blaring red beam at Stellar as she exited the building flying. She brought her hands up, the laser crashing into her and pushing her backwards.
And then she started to push through it. Sophie morphed her other hand into a laser gun as well, bringing it in front and activating it as well. The second beam fused with the first to make an even stronger and larger beam which fought against Stellar.
Stellar was stalled in the air, before she continued to move forwards against the beam. Her armor glowed as it fought to protect her from the laser as she brute forced her way through.
Kasai sent a flying piece of flaming debris at Stellar, only for her to bring one hand out and catch it. She threw it through the beam at insane speeds, Sophie barely dodging as the debris crashed through the building behind her.
With the lasers deactivated from her sudden maneuver, Stellar flew forwards and punched Sophie through the building once more.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck..." I racked my brain of different ideas of how to take down Stellar. I tried to think of any time she had been defeated, but nothing came to mind.
She hasn't lost a fight that I've known of. And every time I've "bested" her has just been me escaping. Even when I pinned her against the wall with that spear, if I had stuck around she would've turned the tables fast.
And with how angry Stellar seems to be right now...we seriously might not be able to escape her. Eleanor definitely could, and so could Sophie, but if she was carrying both me and Kasai?
Yeah, that ain't happening.
But if I don't figure out something soon, then the other heroes on patrol are going to get here and that's not going to be good for any one of us.
Think Jason, think! Get a solution into your skull, NOW!
Wait, what if-!
Sophie flew out of the building, slamming down onto the ground. Stellar flew right after, sending a punch which Sophie caught. The two of them struggled for a moment as a dark shadow started to cover them.
A shadow...?
I looked up into the sky, seeing a huge cluster of...bees?!
PERFECT!
The swarm of bees flew down, a person in the middle of the cluster. It brought her down, gently placing her down on the ground.
Wait a second-
"Alexis?!" I exclaimed.
"Looks like you need some help, my beloved." Alexis smiled.
And that's when I saw it. Behind Stellar, who was currently in a power struggle with Sophie, was a transparent hand. The Spectral Hand!
It grabbed Stellar by the neck, pulling her away from Sophie and holding her in the air. Alexis had her arm outstretched towards Stellar, clenching her fist tightly, tight enough that blood seeped down her palm.
Stellar struggled in the air, growling ferociously as Alexis held her there.
"Quick, we need a bee with some sort of sedative!" I yelled at the cluster of bees, knowing that Mother Wasp was looking through at least one of them.
It seems like Spectral Hand is strong enough to subdue Stellar, but how long can Alexis keep it up until she becomes exhausted-
Stellar gripped at the hand with her own two, and then ripped it in half.
Alexis screamed in pain as she fell to the ground, clutching her head as the spectral hand vanished into thin air. Stellar sped towards Alexis quicker than a bullet, her arm reared back and ready to destroy her.
Sophie appeared in front Alexis, her own arm cocked back and her hand morphed into a gauntlet. As Stellar was upon Sophie, time seemed to slow down.
To Stellar's right appeared Kasai and her flaming broken blade, thrusting it towards the hero. To Stellar's left appeared Bloodwraith, fully healed and grinning maniacally as her umbrella was set to pierce the hero.
Surrounded on three sides, Stellar's eyes quickly darted inbetween the three in the span of a second. And then in an instant she twisted her body in the air, changing her momentum way quicker than should've been possible.
Sophie's arm passed by Stellar as she gripped it with her hand. Kasai's shattered blade reared itself on Stellar, only for her to grab Kasai's wrist with her other hand.
In a moment Sophie was flying to the side and Kasai was flung into the air. Eleanor was dodged, the assassin rolling across the ground and looking back to see Stellar floating in front of Alexis, completely unharmed.
SHIT!
Stellar raised a hand up as Sophie caught Kasai from the sky. Bloodwraith got in front of Stellar, a blood shield forming over her arms and blocking Stellar's blow.
Bloodwraith grit her teeth as her arms shook. Spikes made of blood jutted out from the shield, forcing Stellar backwards. The assassin stood in front of Alexis protectively, the blood morphing into two arm blades as she grinned.
"SARAH-!"
Stellar turned towards the sound of the voice in surprise, only to see me right in front of her and my first reared back, glowing.
My fist slammed into her face, sending her flying into the building. I panted, feeling exhaustion wash over my arm as I stared at the crumbling wall Stellar had just been sent through.
Well, that worked.
Stellar walked out of the building, her cheek slightly red. She rubbed it for a second, before her eyes connected with mine once more.
Cold, calculating, and unforgiving.
Well, that didn't work.
Please, Mother Wasp, we need something to knock her out quick-!
A new sound floated through the air, making me pause in surprise. That sound is...singing?
A gorgeous lullaby sung from a beautiful voice permeated everyone's ears. I could feel myself relax at the sound, before wondering why the hell I was relaxing.
And then I realized I couldn't move. Like, at all. It was like I had just been frozen in freeze tag except I genuinely couldn't get my body to move, other than my eyeballs.
And everyone else had frozen as well, almost as if time stopped. But from the way their eyes moved around, I could tell they were all in the same situation as me.
Even Stellar.
I looked to my right, seeing a new arrival approaching us. She had green eyes that for some reason reminded me of someone, along with dark black, long hair. Her face was one of an almost ethereal beauty, contrasted by the dark bags under her eyes.
Her outfit was an armored bodysuit that was reminiscent of Stellar's in structure but not in looks. This woman's armor mimicked scales, which covered her whole body from the neck down, leaving her head free.
The scales at the upper half of her body were green, but as they moved down the body they morphed into the color blue in a shining gradient.
From her voice came the beautiful song that was being sung, and I immediately realized who this was. Obviously it's a hero, but I had just seen her on television not too long ago.
Siren.
Her eyes connected with mine, and an almost unbelievable amount of joy lit in her eyes. They sparked with familiarity, sending a cold sweat down my spine as a wide grin grew across her face.
Why is everyone that recognizes Miracle appearing today?!
As soon as our eyes connected she stopped her graceful walk, and instead proceeded to dash at me with unbelievable speed. She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me against her tightly as she continued to sing.
And then she tilted my head up, making me look her in the eyes as she sung. Tears dripped down her cheeks as she slowly stopped singing and cupped my head into her hands.
And suddenly I realized I could move again.
"Oh, my baby boy." She whispered. "I missed you so, so much. I'm so sorry."
