It wasn't long after Stellar's disappearance for her to turn up again and resume her hero work. Like, just a day. Which is odd, cause usually a disappearance like that would lead to a "she's been kidnapped and we must save her!" kind of story arc, but I guess not this time.
Instead, nothing truly happened, and she's now back to her regular superhero routine. I'm not exactly sure how to feel about that.
It feels too easy. I am now worried.
My first step was to try and fix the damage I've done to her but she seems to be fine? There hasn't been any news of her murdering supervillains or superheroes at the moment so I'd say that's pretty good.
I still need to keep a good eye out though, cause I still need to keep good on Luminosity's deal. And to keep Gabriel's favorite superhero, well, a superhero.
I sat on the couch, Aurelia currently hugging me from behind and keeping me locked into place. Sophie sat to my side, leaning into me while Siren sat on a chair.
The television was currently on, the superhero news channel returning from its commercial break.
"In recent news, two more buildings affiliated with Killian Stromford have mysteriously collapsed, making this three in the past two days." The announcer stated. "It is most likely being done by Checkmate and his group, but no one knows quite how yet."
"Uhh..." I looked towards Sophie. "Do you remember demolishing any buildings recently?"
"No, Master." Sophie shook her head.
"That's what I thought." I nodded. "It can't be me, I've been stuck here all day because I'm constantly being smothered by one of y'all."
"Don't act like you don't enjoy it, dearie~" Aurelia whispered into my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
Stop right there, that's dangerous.
No, why are you wrapping your legs around my waist now from behind-
God damnit. I'm even more trapped than before. She's attached to my back like a damn koala with two watermelons strapped to its chest.
I'm practically being forced to inhale her honey-like scent with how she's smothering me. You even theme yourself with perfumes, eh?
"The Ashen Vigilante has also claimed another two victims, leaving naught but a jar of ash behind." The reporter continued. "Evidence has also been leaked to point to the corruption of both individuals, consistent with the pattern that The Ashen Vigilante has been following."
"In other news, Vermillion Waverson arrived to Champion City just this morning." The announcer switched topics. "Balance successfully stopped multiple robberies, while Prototype and Isolation defeated the villain known as Fearwolf with zero casualties."
"The Administration has also made a public update to Checkmate's danger rating, listing him now at Threat Level 3, City." The announcer stated. "However some have advocated that he is brought up to Threat Level 4."
"Whether it is fans or those who despise him, we are not sure on." The announcer added.
"Fans?" I questioned. "They must be delusional. I don't have fans!"
"I am your fan, Master." Sophie stated.
"That's not what I meant and you know it." I countered.
"I could be much more than just your fan~" Aurelia nibbled on my ear, proving once more to be a threat to my sanity and reason.
I have no idea how Siren can just sit here unbothered by this flirting happening with her son right now.
"You made it to Threat Level 3! Congratulations!" Siren clapped with a smile.
"...I don't think you're supposed to be that happy about that." I sweatdropped.
"Maybe not." Siren giggled. "But I don't care."
Well shit, fair enough.
The sound of multiple sets of footsteps sounded through the room as Eleanor, Alexis, and Hikari walked into the living room.
"Hey, did any of you three topple any buildings in the past two days?" I asked.
"What? No." Alexis replied.
"I would've burnt them." Hikari stated.
"Do I need to grab the explosives, love~?" Eleanor widely grinned.
"No-" I paused. "You have explosives?"
"I have a lot of things." She sultrily smirked in response.
I don't even want to know what you mean by that.
"No, nevermind, don't worry bout it." I shook my head. "You three really doing it?"
"Yep." Hikari nodded.
"We're gonna see my 'mother'." Eleanor nodded. "I want to see how much stuff I can get out of her."
"If we can get some of that superpower neutralizer, then we can easily dig Stromford and Vandercourt a nice, deep, grave." Alexis smiled.
"You're not wrong, but..." I sighed. "...be careful."
"Of course, love~" Eleanor skipped over, hopping onto my lap and giving me a smooch on the lips. "You will never see me that weak again."
"Time's up." Hikari yanked Eleanor off of me, before looking at me shyly. "When this is done, Jason...let's cuddle. Just by ourselves."
"And what do you think you're trying to do?" Alexis questioned, walking over with crossed arms.
"Quiet, you had your time yesterday." Hikari shot her a pointed glare.
Alexis pulled the skin under her eye down and stuck her tongue out in response with an audible "bleh" sound.
"Let go of me!" Eleanor struggled in Hikari's hold. "Let me get some of his blood to hold me over until I see him again!"
"No!" Hikari grunted, wrestling with Eleanor.
"Speaking of blood..." Alexis looked towards me as she pulled out a pouch. "You're as smart as ever, Jason."
She opened the pouch, pulling out a small red sphere the size of a marble. She looked at it in her hand, smiling to herself.
"To have Eleanor use her blood manipulation power to condense your healing blood into little balls..." Alexis marveled at the tiny blood sphere. "...it's a portable healing device that's ridiculously powerful."
"It's genius." Hikari looked at the blood sphere with stars in her eyes while Eleanor was stuck in a headlock.
It only took a moment for Eleanor to send Hikari to the ground, the two of them now fighting across the floor.
"Thanks." I lightly blushed, scratching my head with a grin. "And that should hold you off until later, Eleanor."
"It's different!" Eleanor cried out. "It's not fresh blood! It's so much better when it's straight from it's hot, delectable, gorgeous source~"
"Oh yes, please, praise me more." I grinned. "Flattery will get you everywhere."
"I know." She licked her lips.
Sophie pinched my side, making me wince in surprise. I looked over to her with a tiny glare, only to receive her usual neutral look in response.
"Bad Master." She spoke.
"What am I, a dog?" I questioned.
"Well, we should get going." Alexis stated, pulling both Eleanor and Hikari to their feet.
"Let us know if you anything happens." I replied.
"You as well." Hikari smiled. "Come on girls."
The three of them started to walk away, making their way to the fixed front door of Siren's house.
"Don't say that like you weren't just groping Eleanor on the ground." Alexis smirked.
"I was NOT groping her-!" Hikari's yell was cut off as they left the house, the door closing behind them.
"Well, it's time for our part of the plan, then." I grinned.
"Are you sure you don't want me to help, Jason?" Siren asked.
"I'm sure." I nodded. "I don't want you risking your career. We'll be fine. I have both Aurelia and Sophie with me for this mission."
Don't worry readers, you haven't missed anything, it's time to review the mission!
"Let's go over this one last time." I grinned.
"Hikari, Eleanor, and Alexis will be meeting with Waverson Corporation's new CEO." I restated. "Hopefully it'll go well, but it's not a big deal if the company is still our enemy."
"In the meantime, us three will be hitting secret Stromford bases." I continued. "Thanks to my deal with Nightshade, I was able to obtain the locations to multiple different places."
"We're going to hit each one of them, grab anything good or useful, and destroy them." I grinned. "It's time we pull out the full assault with this war with Stromford."
"No matter what, they'll suffer losses." I added. "But we might find something that benefits us. Maybe a main hideout for Killian or Vincent's lab. If not, at least it's another base down."
"Either way, they will fall." I spoke confidently. "I got Davon to connect me to an explosives guy, and already bought them and hid them in a few secret stashes nearby the bases we're targeting."
"Why not just use Eleanor's?" Aurelia asked.
"I already ordered them before knowing she just hides bombs, apparently..." I sweatdropped. "...not to mention I have no clue where they are. Hopefully not here."
"Master." Sophie grabbed my attention. "What about that other person taking down Stromford buildings?"
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?" I grinned. "Well, shouldn't matter. Nightshade specifically gave me buildings that aren't publicly affiliated with Stromford Industries, so we shouldn't run into them."
"Aaaaaand, that's the plan." I nodded to myself. "I kind of feel like I'm flying off the seat of my pants again, but hey, if it works, it works!"
"I have no doubt in your plan, dearie~" Aurelia smiled, lightly rubbing my shoulders. "Have more confidence in yourself."
"I am confident." I huffed, puffing out my chest. "I'm like a kangaroo mixed with an ostrich."
"You're more like a puppy to me..." Aurelia soothed, rubbing her hand through my hair.
"What is with me and the dogs today?" I questioned. "I better not be a damn chihuahua."
"Who's a good boy?" She smiled, rubbing her hands through my head.
"Me-I mean, I am not responding to that." I crossed my arms.
Sophie pinched my side once more, harder this time.
"Okay, let me go, let's get this show on the road!" I struggled out of Aurelia's grip, jumping up to my feet. I pulled out two pouches, handing one to Aurelia and then holding the next one out for Sophie.
Sophie stared at the pouch, before looking back up at me.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "Not going to take it?"
"I am a robot, Master." Sophie replied. "The regenerative properties of your blood will not have an effect on me."
"Oh shit, that's right." I realized, putting the pouch back. I looked back up at Sophie only to be visually stunned.
A small, but genuine, smile laid on her face.
And then she pulled me into a deep kiss. She held it for a good few moments, before finally releasing me and allowing me to breathe again.
Aurelia pecked me on the cheek from behind. "I'm going to get ready, dearie. Come along, Sophie."
Sophie reluctantly followed Aurelia, poking her in the side as they walked to go and grab their stuff. Which then left me alone with Siren in the living room.
"So..." Siren spoke up. "...when's the wedding?"
"Mom..." I facepalmed.
Can we just skip to the action already?
