"Arshia,I am sure Angraj is okay. You don't have to do tensed" The girls had came back from seeing off the warriors and also witnessing Karna's insult,as Arshia terms it.
"I am sure he is. He has faced a lot more than this is his life. " The two girls stared at her, confused of what she was saying but decided not to question it.
"Actually the thing is I can't go and look around the rest of Hastinapur today, Rajkumari Durshala. I think you should take Subhadra jiji. I have some work to do. Have to go,pranam" Arshia walked away before the two could question.
.
"Where is that man?" Arshia mumbled. She has been a while since she has started searching for Karna and she doesn't seem to find him anywhere. It also felt as if her leg was going to give up on her soon. The injury had worsen because of her walking so much but giving up wasn't in her nature. She had reached the only place she hasn't searched yet,the training area.
"Excuse me. Do you were Angraj Karna is?" She asked a soilder, slowly leaning on the pillar feeling her foot almost give up on her.
"Rajkumari,he is in the training area and has ordered us to not let anyone in" The soilder said with his head down. "Simple, don't tell him I am here and let me enter" she slowly left the pillar's support and walked towards the door.
"I don't mean to disrespect you Rajkumari but Angraj has strictly instructed us to not let anyone enter"
Arshia softly smiled at the man.
"Don't worry. I am going to tell him that I was the who was stubborn and the soilders tried to stop me. Now let me in?" The soilder hesitantly nodded and let her in.
.
Arshia entered the room without making a noise and leaned on the pillar watching Karna shoot his arrows at the target recklessly. Each of his arrows hit the bullseye but due to not changing the target, the bullseye was destroyed. Fearing that Karna's rage might actually set the place on fire she walked forward to stop him but her leg finally gave up on her causing her to fall down. A soft groan left her mouth.
Karna turned around aiming the arrow right at Arshia's face. Upon figuring out who the person was,he kept his bow in a hurry and knelt down to her level.
"What are you doing here?and how did you manage to fall?" Karna bombarded her with questions.
"My foot was injured and I roamed around the whole palace to find you. My foot at last gave up on me" Arshia said sarcastically to avoid the burning pain.
"Why would you? Could you stand up?I am sure they have something here to treat that foot of yours" Karna winced at her foot which was bleeding at the moment.
"I can't, it hurts too much" Arshia said, her voice trembling due to the pain she was experiencing.
"Is it okay if I carried you?" Karna asked. Arshia stared at him for a second and then nodded.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and his other arm supporting her back. He lifted her up and set her down on a counter-like thing.
Arshia bit her lip hardly, trying not to whimper in pain. Karna stared at her expression in pity as he unwrapped her blooded covering.
"God, Rajkumari Arshia. Why would you..." He drifted off seeing the amount of blood that had leaked out in a short duration of time. Arshia couldn't pay attention to what he was saying, the pain was almost unbearable.
"This will burn, Rajkumari" Arshia mindlessly nodded agreeing to any method that could possibly remove the pain.
Karna took a good amount of the paste and gently rubbed it on her wounded part. When the paste came in contact with her wound, she almost couldn't control her scream. To release the pain, she scratched the wooden platform, hard. Karna noticed his and said
"Here. You can hold on to my hand. Scraping the wooden platform will only hurt you more. Don't think of it too much" Karna extended his hand. With hesitation clear in her mind, she grabbed his hand and held on to it as if her life deepened upon it. When Karna was finished applying the paste, she couldn't look up to his eyes as she left his hand. (She had squeezed his hand too hard)
Karna lowly chuckled at her reaction.
"I am a warrior. It didn't hurt that much when you grabbed my hand. It's fine, Rajkumari."
"Look at this. I came here to comfort you but you are one comforting me" she softly laughed, the laughter that seemed like music to his ears.
"Are you okay?" Arshia asked removing the smallest amount of colour on his face.
"Why me, Rajkumari? It's always sut-putra this, sut-putra that. I know what mitr Duryodhana has done for me and I will forever to in debt. But do I deserve what I am getting right now?" Karna asked his voice slowly breaking.
"You have to fight multiple times to win a battle,Angraj. No one wins all at once. What you are going through,at this very moment, can only be felt by you and only you,no one else. Even if they claim to,then don't. You are fighting an inner battle,a battle with yourself. You are holding back, you are preventing yourself from being the worst form of yourself and it's getting hard. You can't seem to hold it back but you have to and that kills you inside. But you have to win this,Angraj. This is one of the most hardest wars you will ever fight and if you win this, you are truly one of the best warriors in the world. Win this, Angraj"
Karna's expression had calmed down. Her words were indeed comforting.
"Thank you" Karna whispered.
"This is going to super awkward but mind if I give you a hug?I can't hold myself back anymore. I know we have barely even talked but..." Not finding appropriate words she stopped talking, thinking she successfully embarrassed herself infront of the king of Ang Pradesh.
Karna laughed and nodded his head. A bright smiled formed on her face as she opened her arms. He came forward and wrapped his arms around her body and rested his head on her shoulder. Her being on the counter-like thing could successfully reach his shoulder or just a bit above that. She,too, rested her face on his shoulder.
The two could hear each others breathing on their shoulders. Nervousness filled their bodies, feeling whatever they were feeling for the first time. The two finally pulled back.
"Can you walk?" Karna asked looking at her foot.
"I have to. The people here might misunderstood us for something else if you escort me to my chamber. I am fine,I can go by myself. Thank you for this" Arshia said as she climbed down the counter-like thing and softly placed her foot on the floor.
"If you need any help with that wound of yours you can call—"
"The royal doctor,I know. Sorry for distributing your practice session. Please continue. Pranam" She softly smiled walking away as Karna's eyes lingered her dissapearing figure.
He softly shaked his head and grabbed his bow,to continue practicing. A smile formed on his face when he replayed what Arshia told him
"Win this, Angraj"
And he hit the bullseye perfectly...
