"isn't that crown heavy?"
Arshia mocked. Karna gripped the copper glass tighter and gulped down the water.
It has been 14 days and Arshia had been ignoring Karna or mocking him if she had the chance to. Now there is a huge difference between a fun mock and a serious mock, and Arshia wasn't fun mocking him,she was serious mocking him which actually can hurt one's feelings.
Although most of the time Arshia didn't even talk to him,the one-two times she did,it wasn't pleasant for Karna.
Karna smashed the cup on the table, momentarily startling Arshia. She dropped her neck peice and stared at his back. She picked up her neck peice and put it on the table.
"What's your problem?" Karna said, turning around his eyes dark. Arshia looked up and tilted her head, her eyes shining with innocence. She shrugged and picked up the ring that Krishna had gifted her and put it on. She smiled seeing her finger which was decorated with a ring with a bright diamond on it's tip.
A pair of fingers grabbed her fingers and turned her. Arshia looked up to see Karna, looking straight at her. He pulled her closer and rested his forehead on hers.
"I know you are mad at me,Arshe. I know you warned me. But this royalty is what got me to you, this is what is going to keep you and Vrishaketu happy. Why can't we accept this?" Karna softly reasoned. Arshia lifted her gaze to look at Karna,a fire glazing through her eyes. Karna wrapped his hands around Arshia and rested his chin on her shoulder.
"Forgive me"
Arshia sighed and wrapped her arms around Karna. She had to admit, these 14 days she knew she was at mistake and, although was against Karna's decision, had to support him because the last time she checked, she was his wife. Arshia nodded against his neck and rested her cheek on his shoulder.
"I am sorry"
Karna shook his head and informed her that he had, too, wronged. Karna pulled away and smiled at her, caressing her cheek. Arshia stared at her and enjoyed the warm feeling on her cheek.
"Mitr Duryodhana is coming"
Arshia nodded at him.
"And we are going to Indraprastha. Rajkumar Bheem had killed Jayadarth" Arshia nodded at him, registering the new information in her head.
"Shall we proceed?" Arshia nodded, looking at the mirror for one last time. She turned to Karna, only to see him looking at her with eyes she couldn't quite understand. Karna understood her confusion and said "You look so beautiful. Not just in this sringar, but also in the simple attire you wore. God took extra time to create you" Karna stretched his hand and rested it on her cheek.
"You seem fond of my cheek" Arshia joked to which Karna laughed. "Shall we leave,my queen" Karna acted and took his hand off her cheek, raising his hand to her eye-level. Arshia smiled and placed her hand on top of his as they walked away.
.
Settling on horses, they started their journey to Indraprastha. Arshia was a bit uncomfortable in the horse, mainly because she was in such heavy attire.
"You have been to Indraprastha before?" Duryodhana asked Karna. He hesitantly nodded and looked at Arshia,to lead the way.
Arshia nodded and lead the way, entering the cave. The others climbed down their horses, while Arshia led them into a dark cave still on her horse.
She could hear Duryodhana mumble in annoyance. Dussahan was repeatedly agreeing with his brother while Shakuni examined the cave. And finally they could see light at the end of the cave.
"What is this, Bhabhi Arshia? This is a dead end!" Dussahan complained, looking down the hill. Duryodhana mocked her while Shakuni stayed quiet.
"The bridge will appear in a matter of time, mitr" Duryodhana rolled his eyes at his friend's words.
But it was as if the bridge had heard Karna,it slowly started to appear. The bright light welcomed them as Arshia's horse slowly lead the way. Dussahan stared awe-struck while Duryodhana stared in jealousy. Shakuni was rather shocked.
The white light just added to the elegance of the place.
Seeing a guard Arshia climbed down the horse and walked to him. The guard, noticing royalty, bowed his head and rested on his knees.
"Please stand up"
The guard obeyed.
"This is Bhrata Arjun's horse, please return him to his rightful place. And this is the Kauravas, Gandharaj Shakuni and Angraj Karna. I am Angrani Arshia and we have been invited here,so could you please let us in?" Arshia asked.
"You don't need my permission,Angrani Arshia. You are the sister of the 5 princes ,you are welcome here anytime. You can proceed" the guard informed and took the horse. Arshia smiled at him and entered the palace grounds.
Duryodhana rolled his eyes, finding it stupid that she asked permission to enter Indraprastha but followed her nonetheless.
The sudden hate arose in Duryodhana for Arshia mainly because she supported the Pandavas and had active relation with them. His angry grew so much that, infront of his eyes,Arshia was a characterless woman. Being friends with her husband's enemies! Both Vasudev Krishna and the Pandavas. The fire in him rose and he had made up his mind that Arshia was not the one for his mitr and rather,he should re-marry and find a woman who would actually care for him.
Ofcourse,this was what he thought.
"Bharta Duryodhana! What is this place?! It's so beautiful" Dussahan said drunk in the palace's beauty. "Shut up, foolish Dussahan" Duryodhana scolded as Dussahan lokes at the ground and had an expression on his face like a kid who just got scolded.
Duryodhana started to bad-mouth the Pandavas and telling how he should now start planning to defeat them, forgetting that Arhsia was still present with them.
Arshia, not wanting to be part of this conversation, called Karna. He turned to look at Arshia. "I will proceed. Get to me once you are finished hearing Yuvraj Duryodhana's childish tantrums"
Not waiting for an answer, she smiled and walked away from them.
.
"I see I am not missed." Arhsia whined.
Draupadi with Shrutrakarma, Arjun's child from her and Shrutasena, Sahadev's child from her and smiled at Arshia.
(I am extremely sorry but I have to change the story line a bit. In a previous chapter,I mentioned that Draupadi was pregnant with Sahadev's child. But I would like to change it a bit,all of the Upapandavs are already born. I am extremely sorry for the mistake.)
"Are you all ready?" Arshia asked viewing the 5 Pandavas and Draupadi. All of them nodded at Arshias. Draupadi let her putras rest and proceeded to the royal court.
.
Arshia walked along side Arjun, discussing some political matters while all the others walked ahead of them.
Entering the maya-filled court, all the kings stood up and greeted them. Arhsia lifted her gaze and looked at Krishna, who was softly smiling at her. She excused herself and went to Krishna.
She bent down and sought his blessings.
"Uff!How many times have I told you that you don't lie near my feet!" Krishna lifted her up and shook his head. Arhsia laughed at his reply and nodded at him.
Shishpal viewed this keenly and carresed his chin, with a slight smirk on his face.
Arshia made her way to the 4 Pandavas and stood beside them. Yudhishthir had requested Arshia to stand by-him because she was as dear to him as his real brothers were, taking in account that she was his sister.
The Kauravas and Karna were sitted on their thrones. Arshia could see an evil smirk on Shishupal and Duryodhana's face and knew they were planning something not-so suitable for this occasion. She scoffed and looked down, knowing her better half would protect his mitr,if he ends up doing something bad in this moment.
"O Mahadev!Please protect my husband"
. . .
Thank you!
(Sorry for the adrupt changing of the Upapandavs wala incident)
