As Yudhishthir was about to declare Krishna his royal advisor,a rude and arrogant voice stopped him.
"Stop Samrat Yudhishthir!" Shisupal extended his hand and gestured for him to stop. Yudhishthir did stop and looked at who interrupted this ritual. Chedi naresh Shishupal stood up and made his way to the center of the court, his eyes piercing at Krishna. His hands rested on his waist which had numerous peacock feathers.
"So many kings have come here and dedicated their devotions towards you. By choosing such a man,you cannot insult us!" He took a peacock feather out and threw it away. Arhsia's eyes darkened as she glared at the man.
She remembered him from her swamyvar, after all he was the one who tried to deny Karna of lifting up the bow and winning her.
She looked at Krishna who had a calm expression and a small smile displayed on his face. She sighed and watched Shisupal continue.
"Our supreme samrat being under the authority of such a fool is not acceptable by me,Maharaj Yudhishthir" He said as he threw another peacock feather.
"Chedi naresh, who is more capable of this position than Vasudev Krishna? Dharma,Adharm, this world and the other, lies and truths are best known by dwarka naresh Krishna!" Yudhishthir calmly expressed. Shishpal spread his arms in annoyance and continued
"This is all an illusion, supreme samrat! All the kings present here,if you look at this Yadava's life, you will know immediately that he has only cheated people!" He turned to the kings and insult-ly pointed at Krishna.
"The milk and butter which rightly belonged to King Kansa,he used to steal them!He would revolt against the mighty king Kansa! He was the reason many of his friends died! Putana,Bakasura,Chanur,Mustik, the list is endless, kings" Shisupal turned to Krishna and mockingly smiled.
"He was the one who stopped us from worshipping Lord Indra. He is not only a thief but also an adharmi" He took out two peacock feathers and threw it at Krishna. "He is a rebel,a liar!" One more Peacock feather fell near Krishna's feet.
"If you listen to his advice, tell me!How can he even think of the welfare of Aryavart" He looked at the kings and threw away another peacock feather.
"Stop Chedi yuvraj! Insults against Vasudev Krishna will not be tolerated by me" Bheem stopped him. Shishupal turned to him with clear mock in his eyes.
"What will you do Rajkumar Bheem?Kill me?!" He laughed.
The sound of his laughter pierced and annoyed Arshia. She scrunched her face and tried to block out his annoying tone, which obviously didn't work.
"Look at Vrikodar Bheem, kings! He married a female orge! Now you all tell me,can a dog who eats leftovers be seated in a Puja? But this adharmi Vrikodar is now the Yuvraj of this illusionary state,by none other than the grace of this cowherd!" Shishupal pointed at Krishna and threw a feather towards Bheem.
Bheem fumed in anger and marched towards him,in the intention to behead him. But he was stopped by Bhishma, who stated that unless and until the king doesn't order he had no right to attack a guest. Bheem groaned in annoyance and kept staring at Shishupal.
Shishupal's laugh cursed everyone's ears but they were obliged to sit and watch his childish and stupid tantrums,in the name of their honour. The only one who was actually enjoying this was Gandhar Raj Shakuni, who was carreseing his beard with a sly smirk on his face.
"Yudhishthir, the one who is preaching to me about limits while he gave a runaway cowherd the highest honour of the court" He huffed. "Yudhishthir didn't your father ever give you the knowledge of right and wrong?" He continued mocking. Yudhishthir lowered his head, trying to maintain his calm.
"How could he?Pandu was himself a sage-killer adharmi!" He laughed and threw another peacock feather.
"Chedi Yuvraj!" Arjun yelled, anger clear in his eyes, body language and expression.
Walking closer to him,Arjun said "If you have a problem with this Rajya suyo Yajna, then return back to your kingdom and wait for our army!" Arjun gripped his teeth.
Pointing his finger at Arjun, Shisupal continued
"You don't speak,Arjun. You have gained your archery learning after cutting off the right thumb of a poor child Ekalavya. You are the most low-living person I have ever encountered. Go! Drown yourself somewhere!"
Shishupal turned to the kings and addressed
"His father was a criminal, that's why King Kansa had imprisoned them both! Now tell me,kings a person born in a prison cell is called what?!What is he called kings?!" Shisupal turned to Krishna and said
"A criminal"
"Krishna is a criminal!A criminal!"
"Chedi yuvraj,if you don't stop insulting Vasudev I have to give you a death sentence!" Yudhishthir blurted down. "I am afraid of no one, Yudhishthir!"
"Kings!Get up and leave this court,or else attack this cowherd Krishna!"
He instigated.
Krishna's expression had darkened and it was crystal clear that he was just waiting for the right time, the right opportunity.
"To prove himself superior,he has cheated! Couldn't Mahamahim Bhishma be honoured? Why this cowherd Krishna?"
"When I have no problem that Vasudev is being honoured then why are you arguing, chedi Yuvraj?"
Bhishma asked.
"What problem would you have Bhishma? After all you are a mere transgender! Stealing girls from their swaymvar seems like the only activity you are good at!" He laughed.
"Bharta Shishupal" Krishna called out as he turned to him. "I hope you are keeping in mind how many mistakes you are committing. And not to mention, you have committed numerous crimes before arriving at Indraprastha"
"Shut up,you wicked man!" Shishupal pointed his finger at Krishna and mocked him. "You are lewd who marries other's wives! You made Narakasur's 16100 wives your wives, didn't you? In Vrindavan, you would stand on one leg and perform Raslila with the Gopis and the wife of Ayan Yadav. Yet, knowing she was married, you hypnotised that innocent girl and made her love you?!You are the world's most adharmi immortal!Have you forgotten this Krishna?!" His peacock feathers were running out but yet he was continuously babbling.
Krishna stood up,his expressions grim.
"Quite down, Shisupal. Don't be so drunk in the sinful liquor that you forget what you are doing and how many mistakes you still have left" Krishna advised. The mocking smile returned as Shisupal continued
"I know exactly what I am doing, Bharta Shree Krishna and I know why you are being honoured. Drupad Kumari Panchali must have been the one to tell her incapable husbands to honour you!"
Draupadi stared at him,shocked.
"You call her sakhi, don't you?
Sakhi?"
"How can a married woman be a married man's sakh—"
"It's time for you to calm down, Yuvraj Shishupal" A tone,so melodious that it felt inappropriate for the situation, stopped him. Shishupal momentarily stopped and turned his attention to the voice.
Arshia walked down the staircase, her anklets jingling so harsh that it felt like one more step the earth would collapse, and stood on the last stair.
"Why so much arrogance? Why so much anger? Because Rani Rukmani chose sakha Krishna over you? What do you think,Chedi Yuvraj?Would Ma Sita ever choose arrogant and wicked Ravan over Vishnu avatar Shree Ram?" Arshia innocently stated. Shishupal glared at Arshia.
When Shishupal was about to answer,Arshia talked.
"No right?I mean we have the Ramayan in front of us! So why are you doing this? To gain fame or make Vasudev feel guilty?I will tell you this, whatever you do doesn't matter,it really doesn't. An annoying mosquito dies someway or the other, Yuvaraj Shishupal"
"Oh Shut up Arshia!" Shishupal yelled, his voice high.
"It's Angrani Arshia, Chedi Yuvraj! When I stay in my limits, then you shall too!" Arshia yelled. It sure wasn't louder than his but it was more influential than him.
"What do you know about limits? Marrying a Sut-putra and then having a love affair with Dwarka Naresh Krishna? Why?Do you want to be the queen of Dwarka and Ang Pradesh?!Both!Or do you want to bear children with both..."
Karna stood up, grabbing his bow. When he was about to stop Shishupal,he saw Krishna shaking his head towards him and turning his gaze back on Shisupal. Karna stood dumbfounded in his place, his grip on the bow tightening.
Shishupal looked at his waist and saw that there were no peacock feathers left. He looked up at Krishna who had his finger up and his Sudarshan Chakra shining. His eyes were filled with anger and Shishupal finally had the look of fear on his face.
The Sudarshan chakra sliced Shishupal's head as it returned back to Krishna. Arshia looked at his head which lay near her feet.
"It's the right time to quiet down, Shishupal. May your soul rest in peace"
