Duryodhana stared at Shishupal's body with shock in his eyes. He wiped off the blood that had splattered across his bare body after the Sudharsan Chakra had beheaded Shishupal.
Turning his gaze on Krishna,he started
"Bhrata Yudhishthir! How can you let this happen in your court? How can you let the highest honoured person of this court kill a guest!" He complained.
"Yuvraj Duryodhana,he would have been killed one way or the other. When he was told to keep count of his crimes,he disagreed and continued babbling." Arshia reasoned, stepping forward. Duryodhana marched forward and stood in front of Arhsia, his weapon gripped tightly in his hands. Karna followed behind, making sure that Duryodhana doesn't do anything that might upset his wife.
"He was my friend! How can you kill him?"
Arhsia laughed and replied "Friend? If you forgot Yuvraj Duryodhana,I was there when you became friends with Shishupal and I know why you became friends with him."
Duryodhana glared at her.
"Do not forget why you enjoy this royal title,Arshia" He gritted his teeth. "Flaunting that you gave daan to a beggar,eh?" Bheem came forward and stood behind Arshia.
Arshia looked at Karna and sighed, realising that she could do nothing to save him from insults and embarrassment.
"Duryodhana,even a mer—"
"I am talking to Yuvraj,Bhrata Bheem. You don't need to talk for me" Arshia said a bit too coldly. Bheem stared at her back,in shock but obeyed her words.
"Why was he killed? Whatever he uttered was correct none the less" Duryodhana spitted. Arshia widened her eyes and looked at Karna, who was silently standing with an expression of guilt on his face. He was gripping his bow so tight that the veins in his hands became prominent. His face flushed with the colour red.
"Everything was correct? You mean, that him uttering such insulting words for me and bhabhishree Draupadi was correct?" Duryodhana proudly nodded. "Yes,he was correct! If not for you, then my mitr Karna would have participated in Panchali's swamyvar and could have married her! Don't you know how politics works, bhabhishree Arshia?!" He mocked.
"Believe me,I know it better that you do Yuvraj Duryodhana!" Arshia raised her voice. "Arshe, calm dow—" Arshia gestured Karna to stop talking and shook her head. "You don't tell me what to do, Angraj Karna. I warned you so many times not to take back Ang Pradesh yet you refused to even hear my advice. I stopped bhrata Bheem from speaking because I was afraid he would insult you more but from what I am seeing,at the moment, Yuvraj really did a daan" Arshia fluttered her eyes at Karna, disappointed.
"You don't get to speak to my mitr the way you just did,Arshia!" He slightly raised his weapon. The Pandavas and Krishna rushed and stood behind her. Arhsia let a sword form in her hands as she gripped it tightly.
Duryodhana stared at the magic, unbelievably. Dussahan rushed over to Duryodhana's side and took out his sword, eyeing Sahadev and Nakul. Karna eyed Arjun while Duryodhana looked at both Bheem and Arshia.
Shakuni made his way to Duryodhana and begged him not to commit such actions.
"Leave him,Gandhar Raj Shakuni. You have been holding his fingers from the day he was born and helping him rise up and get more powerful. Does he still need your help?" Arhsia commented as Duryodhana raised his weapon at her.
"Don't be foolish, Duryodhana!" Shakuni whispered as Duryodhana finally lowered his weapon and kept staring at Arshia.
Fear, guilt and anger flowed in Karna's eyes. Fear because he was scared that Duryodhana might harm Arhsia,Guilt because he was remaining quiet and angry because the Pandavas had raised their weapons.
"I forgive Bharta Duryodhana" Karna snapped out and heard Yudhishthir mumble.
"Forgiveness doesn't fix everything,Bharta Yudhishthir. You must punish them" Krishna suggested at Yudhishthir experienced turmoil. Arhsia huffed and let her weapon disappear.
"Are you okay?" She heard Arjun mumble. "I would have been if Karna would have the guts to speak up for his own wife" She bitterly whispered back,as she watched Draupadi come forward and grab all the attention.
"I don't think we should punish them after all, punishing them would hurt the king and queen of Hastinapur. But Govind insists on giving a punishment. So,your highness snatching away weapons from a warrior is also considered as a punishment. We will respectfully return them back to Hastinapur. By this both sides shall remain happy and at peace"
Draupadi suggested. Arshia's eyes widened at the punishment. Snatching away their weapons is bigger than a death sentence! Draupadi noticed Arshia and reformed her sentence.
"It's okay if Angraj doesn't give up on his wea—"
"Maharani, you are insulting him" Arshia stopped her. "Insulting?I am stopping Angraj to get the punishment"
"Why? Because he is my husband? That's a bigger insult Maharani" Arhsia replied. Draupadi felt speechless and simply nodded at her words.
"Who are you to give me a punishment!" Duryodhana said arrogantly. "Don't try to humiliate me!"
"Don't take this as humiliation, bhartashree. This is simply the solution to the conflict that has risen between a family. This will erase the stain on your clothes and on your heart Bhartashree" Draupadi replied, softly.
"A person who has a tainted character cares about my clothing?!" He yelled insult-ly.
"Yuvraj Duryodhana!Mind you words!" Arshia yelled back. "You don't get to say in between this!" Duryodhana replied. "Yes I do!I will interfere when I see a woman being insulted!Do not forget what Shishpal's last crime was, Yuvraj! Don't let the same thing happen to you"
"Arshia! What are you saying?" Karna finally voiced out. Arhsia looked at him and laughed mockingly. "Finally you spoke out. That too for your cheap best friend!"
"Arshia!"
Duryodhana lifted his gadaa and went on to attack her. Arhsia flashed her eyes at Duryodhana as the gadaa in his hands almost fell.
"Careful of what you do,Yuvraj." Arhsia whispered.
"Bharta Duryodhana,I order you to give up your weapons. Bheem, Arjun and Sahadev, take the weapons of Bhrata Duryodhana,Angraj and Bhrata Dussahan" Yudhishthir ordered.
"Give up your weapons, Yuvraj. It's an order from the Mahamantri" Vidur spoke out.
"On raising weapons in one's court,a death sentence is given! You shall give me the same samrat!" Karna spoke out.
"I considered you as a good man when you came to Indraprastha with Arhsia but now seeing you,I am ashamed that I judged you wrong. Whether or not there's bloodshed, what's the difference Angraj? Consider this equivalent to death. Give me your bow" Arjun put his hand forward and demanded his bow. Karna, with a bitter face, gave his bow and looked at the ground.
And soon enough, Dussahan and Duryodhana gave up their weapons. A smile formed on Krishna's face as he watched the Pandavas. Duryodhana glared at Draupadi.
Duryodhana turned and walked away, not before glancing at Arhsia with hatred filled in his eyes. Shortly after,Shakuni,Karna and Dussahan followed Duryodhana.
And then,it clicked Arshia's mind.
With a sharp turn,she yelled
"Yuvraj Duryodhana!Stop!"
A foot still in air,he paused and looked back. All of them did, with confusion clear in their faces.
Drawing his foot back,he looked at Arshia, still with anger that is.
"Who are you to stop me?" Duryodhana glared and disobeyed, walking forward. "Please!"
A splash in the water was heard. Arshia closed her eyes and shook her head.
Duryodhana emerged out of the water and breathed heavily, completely drenched in water.
"Is the son of blind also blind?" A dasi behind Draupadi commented as the court burst out in laughter. The only ones who weren't laughing were Krishna,Arhsia and Yudhishthir.
Duryodhana turned around and watched Draupadi laugh at him. Turning his eyes on Arshia,he noticed she had pity in her eyes. He huffed and climbed out of the pond. Placing his crown back on,he walked away.
"Arshia and Draupadi,I will destroy both of you"
Duryodhana thought .
